Hello all

Very sorry to hear your news Lucy. Good luck with trying again!

I fear that I may be the oldest so far, being of 72 vintage, and older than Tanny. Anyone admit to being older than me?

I am really tired and have been going to bed early. I also get really thirsty. Anyone else finding this?

I have been self injecting with Fragmin for 1 week now and have already had enough. It causes bruising which looks really un attractive but is apparently normal. I now can't let my daughter see me undressed as she will worry! And it only MIGHT make a difference.
I have a scan booked in 2 weeks. I expect I'll feel better about the Fragmin if I know it's not in vain. Otherwise I'll be able to stop anyway.

Going back to see my GP on Monday. Hopefully I will find out about my hospital referral then.

Have a good weekend everyone and a great Wedding Tanny.

Penguinita · 12/10/2013 07:59

Hi carrot, yes I've been going to bed really early too, usually about 9.30 when I was previously a midnight girl. But I'm waking up really early too needing the loo, then I can't get back to sleep, it is a bit of a vicious circle!

What does the fragmin do? Sounds extreme. Hope it works for you.

I've been awake for a couple of hours worrying about my lack of symptoms. Now I feel sick sick sick. I need to be careful what I wish for... Smile

Yes, enjoy your wedding tanny! Trying to avoid drinking champagne might be tricky though!

tiny, really hope we both make it to 18th November and it is a good news day.

TinyTear · 12/10/2013 11:26

I go to bed at 10 only because we are watching Breaking Bad, I want to go at 9/9h30
Smile

tigsnchar1 · 13/10/2013 10:02

Hello everyone. I've been watching from the sidelines seeking support but too scared to post in case of jinxing myself. I've really benefited from reading how everyone is though so thank you for that.
I'm finally jumping in as I want to ask whether anyone else has been told to take aspirin? I've read I can't eat ginger when taking aspirin, just wondered if anyone had heard about anything to avoid etc?
And also has anyone been told to lose weight to improve chances of a healthy pregnancy? I haven't seen a midwife yet but I know they will say that as I'm just under 30 BMI. Hardly eating anything but still seem to have gained 3 pounds somehow!
Any thoughts or advice would be extremely welcome. Thank you :)

PJen · 13/10/2013 13:24

fLucy, my heart goes to you. Glad to see that you are taking it well. virtual hugs to you and good luck with trying again.
London good luck with your scan next week.

carrot one year doesn't make that much difference :) 73 or 72, we are all vintage :) I am injecting Clexane and did try Frangmin in last pregnancy. They are both low molecular heparin. The needles of both is very dull and I can't stab myself and both for me sting when injecting. I have been doing it for one month and can't imagine doing this for 9 months. specially when the belly gets big and there is no where to grab?! I can't inject in my thighs as I have ueber sensitive thighs.

Tigs, welcome. yes, I do take baby Aspirin. Good to know re ginger and aspirin as I was feeding my self ginger day and night. Good to know and thanks for sharing. I am not sure if going on diet and losing weight during pregnancy is a good idea but hopefully midwife can help you with that. You may have gained water.

PJen · 13/10/2013 13:24

sorry for the f before your name lucy. Damn small alphabets on phone. My fingers are too fat.

lucyfluff · 13/10/2013 15:49

Lol thanks pjen :)

tigsnchar1 · 13/10/2013 19:59

Thanks pjen, I'm not really trying to lose weight, since getting the BFP, but just can't face much food! Somehow being preggers makes me want to eat healthily, I can't handle the guilt of forcing someone else to eat rubbish!

I can't remember why you shouldn't eat ginger when on aspirin. I'll google it.

Very sorry to hear your news, Lucy. X

TinyTear · 13/10/2013 21:17

when i was diagnosed wtih GD last pregnancy I had to chance my diet and did lose weight in the last 10 weeks, but my daugher was growing and thriving so I was losing the proper stuff...

ended up 10kg below pre-pregnancy weight just a couple of weeks after she was born

tigsnchar1 · 13/10/2013 21:24

Wow, tiny, what changes did you make? That's impressive!

LondonSuperTrooper · 13/10/2013 22:20

Welcome Tigns!

Wow at your weight loss in your first pregnancy Tiny! That's blooming impressive! I'd love to find out how you did it.

I will try and lose weight by joining slimming world. My BMI is 32 and GP recommended it. I have been trying to eat healthily and have cut junk and upped my intake of fruit and veg..... And I've gained 3lbs for my endeavours :(. I really of need help otherwise I'll just balloon like I did with DS. I ended up being induced 1 week before my due date as I had pre-eclampsia. I'm trying my best not to gain too much.

Also I still have no preg symptoms but I'm severely bloated. I look like I'm 20 weeks pregnant.... If this pregnancy is viable how on earth will I keep it quiet till my 12 week scan?!

LondonSuperTrooper · 13/10/2013 22:21

Sorry for all typos, I'm on my phone and in bed.

TinyTear · 14/10/2013 06:43

One of the things with my Diabetes was I couldn't process carbs in the morning at all, so i couldn;t have porridge or cereal or even toast in the morning, had to be eggs or bacon or cheese or yogurts... then I cut out the fruit juices completely

and reduced carbs massively and sugar a bit, but with the odd treat...

I was also on metformin but that stopped at birth and the last week had insulin at bedtime...which also stopped at biirth...

then after the birth breastfeeding and walking helped keep things ok. and on my last GP appointment I was still 3 or 4 kgs below pre-previous-pregnancy...

I could have been a wee bit more careful but cake mornings on maternity leave were too tempting
Grin

I think my BMI is also on the low 30s, haven't checked in a while

Penguinita · 14/10/2013 09:48

Just booked a private scan for next Tuesday evening. Eeeeek! Scared!

Welcome tig !

I don't think it is generally advised to diet once pregnant, so I've been giving in to cake and biscuits when I feel like it. Which isn't that often, as I seem to feel sick most of the time now. I've put on 3-4 pounds but I was on a diet pre-pregnancy, so it is probably just due to stopping that. I've totally gone off creamy things (milk, yoghurt, mashed potato - bleurgh) and I'm craving fruit and veg, so at least that is the right way around! Smile

TinyTear · 14/10/2013 10:39

Ooo good luck Penguinita!

I am counting the days till Friday... Trying not to think about it too much but it's hard!

LondonSuperTrooper · 14/10/2013 16:50

Tiny thanks for the info. I will and try to join slimming world and hopefully lose weight or at least maintain my weight.

Pen I was adviced by my GP to lose some weight safely - hence slimming world.
BTW, I have a scan next Monday, one day before you. Hopefully it will be good news and I can get to see the heartbeat.

I still have no symptoms but I am severly bloated and have very dry mouth.... not sure that these are usual pregnancy signs? Also, no sickness as of yet & I'm 6+1 weeks.

Penguinita · 14/10/2013 17:41

So between us we have scans on Friday, Monday and Tuesday? I'll be keeping everything crossed for all of us.

london I'm pretty sure they count as pregnancy signs Smile Even though the bean is still small, you uterus is expanding which could explain the bloating.

Has anyone started doing pelvic floor exercises yet? The midwife told me to, but it feels a bit early.

tannyLoo72 · 14/10/2013 18:33

Hi everyone, back to planet earth after the wedding! Had a wonderful time and apart from some hormone fuelled tears managed to avoid being too caught up with pregnancy symptoms.

I had my GP appt this afternoon and she's referred me for my 8 week scan, but wants me to phone the midwife tomorrow to support the referral...

It all felt a bit like I was causing a fuss.

A good symptom the last few nights have been feeling a stretching sensation in my uterus. Although it distracts me from sleep, it feels reassuring. Anyone else feeling similar?

tannyLoo72 · 14/10/2013 19:36

Oh God. Just did a digi test hoping to get some reassurance and a nice 3+ and it's reading 1-2.

Now I am trying to convince myself that it's cos it's late in the day. Crap! Really thought this was a sticky.

Beans1977 · 14/10/2013 19:45

Hello, Is there room for another paranoid passenger on the bus? I got a BFP this morning and was ecstatic - but with the excitement is the accompanying paranoia that I'm sure is familiar to you all...

I have been blessed with a beautiful 12-month old DD, but before she arrived I had a MMC at 14 weeks and then my DD was one of a pair and I lost the other twin to a MC at 7 weeks. So I know that a positive test sadly doesn't always equal a baby 9 months later.

But really thrilled to have a BFP and thinking lots of positive thoughts. Early days for me as just 4+4 but feel totally knackered, queasy and boobs are killing.

I've been reading the posts and have everything crossed for all of you that this is our time x

Penguinita · 14/10/2013 20:26

Hi beans and welcome to the worry warts bus Smile So sorry for your previous losses.

tanny you should really stay away from those CB digis! I'm sure they are very inaccurate, especially later in the day when you have probably drunk lots to dilute it, and cause more stress than reassurance. Do you have another one you can try first thing one morning?

Congratulations on your wedding day, sounds like you had a lovely time.

TinyTear · 14/10/2013 20:41

Welcome beans to the paranoid realistic all innocence gone group.

I do envy people who at 5 weeks are talking about prams.

Tanny the digitals are a con. The have a scanner and old fashioned strips inside. I opened one! The scan could be faulty. Don't worry on account of that.

tigsnchar1 · 14/10/2013 21:17

London, I have exactly those symptoms - the bloating is due to progesterone messing with your digestion, slowing it down so you suck out as many nutrients as possible. I find it very painful, but better since I reduced my bread intake. The dry throat/mouth is also a preggo thing - one of my first symptoms! I don't know why that is though.

I'm glad to be here with others who know the score! I honestly feel like I'm just setting myself up for another fall. Can't think of a baby, we are behaving like I'm ill and need to eat carefully and rear etc to get better - even though getting better is the last thing we want. Crazy messed up world we have ended up in.

tannyLoo72 · 15/10/2013 06:45

So, I tested again this morning both with a strip and cbd. The strip still has 2 lines, and tbh god knows if it is lighter than before. The digi came out 2-3, which is better than 1-2 but I should be 6 weeks tomorrow, and first got a 2-3 10 days ago with middle of the day testing.

I'm in limbo. My symptoms seem to be dropping off one by one, and I really know the odds are shrinking, but until I know for sure I want to cling onto any hopeful sign.

It's exhausting thinking about going through another mc, and this will be my 3rd. What happens when you count as a rmc? What should I expect and ask for?

Would dearly love to be blowing everything out of proportion, and come back saying all is well...

IBelieveInEngels · 15/10/2013 07:57

Have had some AF like bleeding this morning and light abdominal cramps Sad

Think I will just see what happens today before contacting mw (they might not see me anyway as only 6w+1 but registered with them last week).

On half term and just dropped ds at nursery - need something to occupy my mind but can't concentrate.
