Congratulations doobee and jelly!!!

pink - I think we're due date twins and funnily enough, I did the exact same thing as you yesterday! Think DH was a bit shocked as I unleashed the minute he walked in the door from work and climbed in his lap like an overgrown baby!

Feel better today though, must have just been hormonal but I do remember wailing "they're going to have to cut 4 holes in my tummy so his arms and legs can grow" Blush

MrsHoratioNelson · 03/10/2013 08:28

Did someone say earlier that Blue Jasmine was good? Might take myself to see it for distraction. I don't normally like Woody Allen films though...

I've just been told that my section might not happen today because the paediatric department is full. I can't take much more of this.

Tarlia · 03/10/2013 08:33

doobee huge congratulations! Sorry, I had cross posted with you.

p.button last time it had normalised within a week. This time it's higher than when I was pregnant! I'm sorry you are over being pregnant now. I'm sure it won't be long. What are you going to treat yourself with? I think the grass is always greener, I miss my bump and wish things hadn't gone the way they had and I was still pregnant. Ha.

orange you poor thing :(

fem my cervix was higher than I could reach too, which often means you arnt ready to labour, but on my induction day I was 1cm already. With DS1 my cervix were also high, but I dilated 1cm to 10cm in 1.5 hours, so doesn't mean anything for me. Hope you are the same.

ananikifo · 03/10/2013 08:33

mon that's so unfair. Hugs to you. I hope it works out.

Congrats to doobee and to jelly again.

roofio87 · 03/10/2013 08:34

oh mon I'm so sorry, I so so hopr they get it all sorted for you Thanks

Tarlia · 03/10/2013 08:34

Oh no mon that's awful :( When will they let you know for certain?

BowlFullofJelly · 03/10/2013 08:42

Congrats jelly and doobee - though now all of my edd buddies have babies I am beyond depressed.

mon so sorry you are being messed around, hope they let you know for definite one way or another asap.

Where has flyer got to? She better not be having her baby!

moonblues · 03/10/2013 08:50

Congratulations Jelly and doobeedoo!

MoN I'm so sorry. Knowing that Eliana will need specialist paediatric care and a cot, and that it makes sense to wait until you know there's definitely one free doesn't make it any easier to deal with the change in plans... :(

roxvox · 03/10/2013 08:56

Congratulations doobeedoo and jellycurls! Always lovely to wake up to some baby news.

Sorry to hear that MoN. Fingers crossed they were just being precautious in warning you and will in fact still continue with the plans for today.

moonblues I have added you to the spreadsheet!

SFW @ 40+1

chickieno1 · 03/10/2013 09:03

mon hope they get their act together and you can meet Eliana today!!

Haylebop12 · 03/10/2013 09:03

Oh mon hope hints get sorted for you and you have a safe delivery.

Ha anyone noticed the boys taking over the births... The spreadsheet is looking increasingly blue!

Health visitor this morning so frantically having a tidy up!

MotherOfNations · 03/10/2013 09:10

It's especially annoying since tomorrow was my original date and it was them who changed it. Just need to wait and see I guess but the consultant seemed doubtful.

Wickedgirl · 03/10/2013 09:13

Huge congratulations to doobee and jelly

Flowers to those of you SWIL and those of you SFW

MoN I can't understand why they're giving you such a rough time of it. As it you don't have enough to deal with already! I hope they get their arses into gear and get everything sorted for you. Good luck for today Flowers

notsoold · 03/10/2013 09:17

doobeedoo congratulations!!! xxx

MON...poor you!!!!

Hayle you are right is blue galore!! Maybe the girls are just getting ready???

Not too long for all of us ladies!!! Even those in the back of the bus like me!! :)

apperleydapperley · 03/10/2013 09:22

Congrats to jelly and doobee (love the name Teddy btw)

That really sucks MON - when you've psyched yourself up for it - hopefully they'll be able to do it today after all fx for you.

Starting to feel a bit real with all the babies coming - a bit like a conveyer belt slowly moving along that we'll all be on until our turn. (Don't think that makes sense but i know what i mean!!) A bit jealous of those of you definitely meeting your babies on Monday as that's my due date and I'm bound not to have baby by then!

Good luck to anyone SWIL or OWT!

Sparkeleigh · 03/10/2013 09:36

Congratulations doobee and jelly!

MoN hope they're able to let you know soon, will they let they let you home to rest if they decided to postpone it?

SC at 37+6 and I've been having period type cramps all night tho they've tailed off a bit now. Not painful, just uncomfortable. This is a really a stupid question probably, but what's the difference between cramps and contractions? Is it something you know as soon as they hit you? Just wondering if this will go on for a few weeks.

MotherOfNations · 03/10/2013 09:42

I asked the midwife if I had to go home if they decide they can't do it and she said it's up to me so I think I'll just stay. Dp might get some sleep then without me tossing and turning.

PseudoBadger · 03/10/2013 09:51

I'm sorry it might not happen today MoN :( I hope you can relax if it doesn't go ahead x

Sephy · 03/10/2013 09:53

Thanks for MoN that must be so frustrating, can't imagine how you're feeling.

Congrats to Jelly and doobee - I agree with apperley that this thread is starting to feel extremely exciting and making it real for us all!

Pseudo - what happened with your BP yesterday in the end? Hope the new tablets help soon and that you get used to them. What kind of side effects are you struggling with? Getting really close now!

HeffalumpTheFlump · 03/10/2013 10:02

Sorry to hear they are messing you around mon, that's the last thing you need right now.

Congratulations jelly and doobeedee!!

Off for my pre op appointment this morning, agree with others that it's all getting a bit real now!

Glad I'm not the only one with a swollen hoohah!

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 03/10/2013 10:05

Yippee - some new arrivals! Congratulations and newborn cuddles to Jelly and Doobee

MoN - arrrrgggghhhh for you, hang on in there x

What a morning so far...DD woke up all teary and 'fragile', and refused to eat her breakfast, making us pushed for time. Then, just as we were about to leave the house, I had to dash to the loo in a mad panic. After being quite ill, it was clear we were going to be late so we just made our way slowly to school.

Unfortunately it's dustbin collection day and the smelly van passing by set me off heaving again.

Then the blinking hormones kicked in; DD looked so sweet in her uniform and held my hand so gently that I thought my heart would burst. By the time I signed her into the school office I was fighting back the tears and could barely speak. She hates being late and I felt so sorry for her.

thethreeblondies · 03/10/2013 10:15

Sc here 37 + 5

Congratulations to Jelly and doobee enjoy those first few days!

MoN big hugs hunny it must be so hard to have it all being decided and out of your control!

Bridget my DD's have been really sweet to me the last couple of days (after an hormonal outburst from me earlier in the week!) really hope they stay as understanding in first few weeks with newborn.

Hmmm where is flyer?!

Today I am continuing in my mission of get to the bottom of wash bins (random things I'm finding!) been to the supermarket, trying to keep stocked up on basics/essentials even though DH did say he's capable of getting stuff when needed if I want the wrong things yes

pinkbuttons · 03/10/2013 10:17

Oh no MoN thats conpletely rubbish of them, are you in your own room? think id stay and try and sleep/enjoy alone time but really hope they get everything sorted today.

Thankyou tarlia and untitled due date buddies, Glad im not he only one untitled, your arms and legs comment really made me laugh so thank you.

tarlia are you still getting symptoms with your high BP? really hope they get it under control soon for you x

Just had midwife appt and have been referred to DAU. BP has gone from 100/60 last week to 150/90 and bump hasnt grown in 2 weeks. Has made me feel even more ridiculous about my tantrum this morning and hoping its just my body trying to put things into perspective for me.

Sending you hugs bridget your DD sounds lovely and Im sure shell be absolutely fine now shes in school. hope you feel better! x

claphammama · 03/10/2013 10:17

so sorry MoN, must be so frustrating, especially after your sleepless night. I'm sure they do it to make sure she has the best care and all the attention she will need but so hard on you. Brew

congrats jelly and doobee!

good luck oddlife

sparkeleigh contractions feel very much like period cramps but much much MUCH worse. Trust me - you will know when you have a proper contraction Grin My labour also started with mild period like pains in the middle of the night. I woke up and couldn't even call them painful but felt something was happening down there. Then my waters broke in the morning and I started having stronger period like pains - all through the day. But they had to induce me the following night to bring on proper contractions. Perhaps something is starting for you? You said you've been feeling restless and have been running around doing things? Nesting?

On another note - I have a strange child... Instead of coming down for breakfast, as always, he woke up screaming his head off this morning "mummy, mummy!!" I ran upstairs scared something terrible happened. He was sitting on his bed wide awake and happy and said "I can't sleep". It was 8am... Confused

Really shitty night here so trying to have a nap now...
