Mw appt today and baby is 3/5 engaged at 39+4 which mw said was good. Booked in for sweep at 41 wks but really hope he'll come before then.

Back to the raspberry tea and bouncing on my ball after a sport of hoovering.

Hope everyone else SC, SFW and with their babies are doing ok today.

kd83 · 07/10/2013 15:42

*spot of hoovering. Not sure what a hoovering sport would be like?!

roofio87 · 07/10/2013 15:49

just been thinking about the birth and had a flashback to the longest moment of my life; waiting for the contraction to come when baby's head was out but not his body. I didn't realise they came out in 2 seperate goes haha!!

OrangeBlossom2 · 07/10/2013 15:54

Thanks roofio

MrsHoratioNelson · 07/10/2013 16:01

Right, I am back from the MW. Especially for Flyer here is the update (slight TMI warning)...

I am 1cm dilated thank fuck for that so she was able to do a really good stretch and sweep. Baby is 2/5 engaged and MW was able to feel hair on the baby's head Shock. For those of you who have yet to experience the delights of a sweep it was odd and a little uncomfortable like a vigorous smear test, but totally bearable anything to get things moving. If nothing doing in the next 24 hours, MW will see me again on Thursday for another go.

Period-type pain in my lower back now pretty much constant and the 2 paracetamol I took at about 1pm aren't really touching the sides, so fingers crossed baby Nelson is on the way. DH now totally panicked and has promised to be home as soon as he can Grin. I have suggested he stay put and get as much done as poss in the office so he really can come running when I need him...

I am going to stay glued to my ball, except when I march up and down the stairs to encourage progress. Now I am glad we live in a three storey house :)

kd83 · 07/10/2013 16:04

Good luck mrsHN, fingers crossed its all systems go for you.

MrsHoratioNelson · 07/10/2013 16:09

Moan alert....
I was quite enjoying being up the duff until this weekend. Now I'm joining the 'can't-come-soon-enough-club'. I really feel geriatric. If I put my feet up I can't get them back down again, walking to the other side of the room feels like a major task, so there's no way I can potter to the local shops to pick up the last bits and pieces I need.

DS is getting nervous too. Came home early from school having been sick- though it sounds a bit put on. He wanted to be home with me. Which is very sweet, but...

The house is still a wreck with homeless boxes of 'stuff'. The drawback of no.2 is that I have loads of clothes and toys up to age 4 for her way before I need them! At least I've got my bags (almost) packed.

Gym ball has just arrived, maybe bouncing on that will help.
Moan over. Sad

Pseudo looking forward to hearing how it went today and seeing your first pics xx
And the others SWIL. xx

Pinkforboys · 07/10/2013 16:15

That all sounds good MrsH, fx baby nelson is on his way!

claphammama · 07/10/2013 16:24

pink I'm with you... just came back from a big food shop, couldn't park in front of the house (bloody neighbours), and had to carry ten heavy bags home. I now feel ancient... and collapsed on the sofa with a cup of tea. Thanks god DS has an afterschool club today so have another hour to catch my breath. Can't even contemplate getting up right now... good luck with your ball bouncing and I shall report back whether carrying heavy bags works...
mrsH freaky but encouraging! fx for you

nat you still have time before 21st and the baby can still turn sideways. fx for you too.

JellyCurls · 07/10/2013 16:25

Midwife been and Jamie has lost 12.5% baby weight so I have been left strict instructions to feed him lots and she will be out to weigh again tomorrow. She said he s picture of health though so that's good

MrsHoratioNelson · 07/10/2013 16:41

notsoold · 07/10/2013 16:59

MrsHN....fingers crossed it will go really fast from now on!!! X

Pink.... I am with you!!! Feel old and unable to do most things!!

Ds is eating the house empty so I really had to go to tesco and stock up! BH there were pretty uncomfortable and last night I had period pains and backache and diarrhea ( sorry tmi)...
Baby still breech and bouncing away.
So arrived home and ds carried all shopping bags for me ( lovely that) made me a cup of tea and is starting dinner for himself. I was stupid to say have anything you like ( after he was so nice ) so now he is having scrambled eggs with curry powder ( yek..stinks)+ some wholemeal rice, half a cucumber, and the left overs of a chicken pie .....as I said eating away!

Sc at 37+3

Pinkforboys · 07/10/2013 17:06

Notso how old is your DS? He sounds lovely, even with the wiffs of curry... Smile

MrsHoratioNelson · 07/10/2013 17:46

Ironing everything in sight in an effort to encourage baby downwards... Also on the basis that sod's law will kick in if I iron DH's work shirts and he won't need many more this week...

OP posts:
tuckingfits · 07/10/2013 17:53

Good luck MrsHN. Although I have to say I had a vigorous sweep 5 days ago, have had contractions every day since, constant release of the show & still no damn baby. I hope you have more luck than me,but I will be deeply jealous if your baby comes before mine!

On the plus side,I had a call earlier to ask me to move my Elcs date to one day earlier than it was scheduled for. So that makes it 22nd Oct if no baby before. bloody well better be

JellyCurls · 07/10/2013 17:53

Just had a coughing fit while bf and forgot to hold onto my stitches - ouch!!! When can I freely cough again?

Flyer747 · 07/10/2013 17:53

You iron dh's work shirts mrsH Shock do has to do his own. I hope things are on the move for you. Can't believe she could feel it's hair, mad.

Flyer747 · 07/10/2013 17:54

Dp meant to put. Damn auto correct

moonblues · 07/10/2013 18:00

Hello everyone.

Please to announce baby moonblues born at 9.30 this morning and was 7lb 14oz. He is beautiful, though a bit of a surprise as I thought he was a girl! We have decided to call him Cormac. His big brother and sister love him already and have been very cute singing him lullabies.

Breast feeding not going so well at the moment, he is very sleepy and doesn't seem to get the concept of sucking, but hopeful that it will pick up soon.

Thank you for all your good wishes. Very happy mummy here. Grin

Natalieand · 07/10/2013 18:06

Wow what a suprise for u moon cheeky little monkey!! Congratulations to you are your family xx

Sanjifair · 07/10/2013 18:12
