My poor DH didn't believe me about my false labour pains at night. Last night he was timing the contractions(every 7 minutes) for almost 2 hours and then they just stopped. He was so disappointed, bless him. I did tell him not to get excited as I think I have had this 5 or 6 nights now. I am getting so fed up. Both of my boys had been born at this stage of pregnancy. I am 39+5 and feel as if I have been pregnant forever

JellyCurls · 07/10/2013 11:42

Completely off topic but for those of you who have had your babies how on earth did you display your new baby cards? I hate having cards on window ledges that you have to move to shut blinds but what can I do with them.

Can you attach them to wall some way so as they don't mark the wall? Getting on my nerves and feel bad they not on display yet

Natalieand · 07/10/2013 11:50

Midwife just left.... No change in cervix since last Monday its soft and central but still closed kill me now gunna try again on Saturday although to be honest I'm not optimistic about it!!

claphammama · 07/10/2013 12:22

thanks for motivating me everyone - I did my "job" very well and just woke up after 1.5 hour! feeling so much better.

welcome back ruby!

sanji hope your postman is a prophet

nat and wicked sorry it's not happening to you yet...

flyer hilarious dream! your breakfast sounds very "pregnant"! Grin I've never tried pop tarts... what are they? going shopping in a bit

Iheartcrunchiebars · 07/10/2013 12:27

So I had a tiny bit of bloody discharge this morning...could it be my show?

Flyer747 · 07/10/2013 12:40

Pop Tarts are processed crappy food Clapham, perfect for pregnancy cravings Grin The chocolate ones are lush, but I don't think there is any nutritional value in them.

Totally at the end of my tether being pregnant now 39+1 SO OVER IT!

Iheartcrunchies fx for you chick it's the start of things.

MrsH are you in labour yet? Or listening to your pan pipes music whilst chanting. Just checking as you are quiet this morning I'm not at all like one of your annoying friends/neighbours checking up Grin

Nat Sad that cervix is still closed up! I feel your pain.

roxvox · 07/10/2013 12:42

Congrats shirehobbit! Looking forward to reading your birth story now.

livened I have tried swaddling Ailla but she likes to have her hands near her face and so just fights and fights until she gets them free (she's like a little Houdini). Last night I swaddled her body from under her armpits in the hope she'd still benefit from being more snug. She still managed to roll onto her side and then started getting stressed wanting to feed again.

Thanks clapham and tarlia. I took your advice and am now feeding her again, this time having woken her up from a lovely sleep on Daddy's chest to do so. She latched on for 10 minutes then dropped off, so I straight away disturbed her again and got her back on. That was 30 minutes ago. My boobs are starting to solidify, so fingers crossed she's starting to get more filling grub! She's had 2 big stinking poos this morning, so I guess that's suggestive that she is taking on something! So pleased because Saturday night was incredibly tough for me with her constantly feeding and crying and clearly hungry and I felt like such a useless Mother not being able to provide for her (I know it's all normal, but at 4am having only had about an hours sleep since I gave birth it easily gets to you as I am sure you all know!)

Amazingly I only had 90 minutes sleep last night in total, yet today I feel more refreshed and confident than I did before. I think it's just because I know she must be getting something now as when she drops off there is often milk dripping from her mouth/my boob, so I am more confident that all of this feeding isn't just for the sake of it. After her doctors appointment today I will leave her with DH and get some sleep.

Pleased to hear that sore nipples are normal. I am sure she is latched on properly, all of the right signs are there, but it does sting! I don't see how it couldn't when your nipples are such a sensitive part of your body and they aren't used to that sort of treatment!

Flyer747 · 07/10/2013 12:42

Oh and every single one of my NCT group has their babies really pleased for them not at all jealous, when the fuck is mine going to arrive

In a fowl mood.

ImpOfDarkness · 07/10/2013 12:43

It was my new birthday ipad clapham, working on french autocorrect. Settings now changed thanks to DP's technical wizardry!

xuntitledx · 07/10/2013 12:47

I hear you flyer! I love seeing all the baby updates and pics but each one is killing me a tiny bit! I'm so impatient and just don't want to wait anymore...!

Making chicken stock because I'm bored...yes, it's come to this.

Flyer747 · 07/10/2013 12:49

Untitled that's so funny you just made me laugh at the thought of making chicken stock just to pass a few hours! Grin

Jelly do u have a xmas card holder u could use mine has been up all year or use a piece of string to either hang them over or peg on? Smile

MrsHoratioNelson · 07/10/2013 13:16

Sorry to disappoint Flyer I'm SFW - met one of the NCT girls for coffee so was out of wifi range. Her baby arrived at 38 weeks and she's gorgeous so I enjoyed having a cuddle. She was so peaceful I'm hoping that she sent baby Nelson telepathic messages to let him or her know that it's much more comfortable on the outside.

Got some backache today which feels like period pains but to be honest I'm so sick of symptom spotting it's driving me nuts. The trouble is that the baby feels so packed tight that it's really difficult to tell the difference between baby shifting and BH and the backache could well be just down to heading this baby round. I'm beginning to think that, despite the apparent neatness of the bump, the baby is going to turn out to be a big fat biffer, or at least very long. Certainly that would explain why my internal organs and windpipe feel quite so crushed.

I'm seeing the MW this afternoon and I'm praying that she can do a sweep - I think I'll cry if she tells me there's no point in trying.

Er, just to be clear, I had a cuddle with the baby, not with her mum Blush

Rox - I 100% echo everything Clapham said at 9.59... Well done!!! Sounds like you're doing brilliantly - you'll be finding it all very easy after this first week or two! X x

roofio87 · 07/10/2013 14:52

rox you're doing brilliantly, im honestly so envious of your will power. and yes I'm sure sore nipples are normal even when latched properly. have you felt their gums and suck reflex it's very strong and your nipples are so sensitive.
ds still not taking bottle brilliantly, which I don't like but does make me feel more justified for giving up on the breast (that's terrible I know!!)

roofio87 · 07/10/2013 15:11

also, my milk has come in today, I look like dolly parton!!!!!

JLSmithy · 07/10/2013 15:16

Wow a busy weekend unable to check MN and there are lots more babies! Congratulations to all who now have their lovely little bundles in their arms!

Can I please join the Facebook group? Would over to see the new arrivals.

Maternity leave started today so celebrating with tea and cake and a day on the sofa! I could get used to this!

Natalieand · 07/10/2013 15:39

Also forgot to add too my moan re:sweep earlier that the baby is now back to back.

Glad u had a nice nap clapham

Is anyone else SWIL? Sometimes I read posts and don't take them in lol

Also not sure if I congratulated u yet shire so congratulations on your bundle :-) x

flyer I would be mad too for all of your cnt buddies having given birth already!!!

Induction is now booked for 21st of October (exactly 41 weeks) which annoys me even more as that week is literally the trickiest week ever for me to have a baby
