Congratulations roxvox on the birth of your little girl, I love the name. hope you are both recovering well x

Thanks tarlia How are you feeling today?

Also wishing untitled a happy due date, if your off habing a baby I will be very Envy

nat glad car passed MOT

Well done on the feeding roofio

Welcome ready Smile

Had midwife earlier to check BP and right back down to 120/60 so was obviously just a blip the other day. Midwife reassured me theres still 10 hrs of my due date left and baby is 4/5 engaged but think she was just trying to be nice. Still, having takeaway tonight and have x factor to look forward to and my mum arriving in the country tomorrow. She is convinced her Grandaughter is just waiting for Nanny to be here... fingers crossed shes right.

Rachel hope all is going well xx

apperleydapperley · 05/10/2013 16:56

Congrats to nelly Chickie and Roxvox so lovely to hear of the new babies Smile and well done roofio on the feeding!

Feeling very weird here too, whoever said that, I can't put my finger on what it is - I feel physically more active but a bit fed up in general. I think its the being in limbo - SC @ 39 + 5 so nearly there i guess (i hope!)

I might have a go at updating the spreadsheet with the new arrivals - let me know if i miss anyone or any new names that need to go on...

Natalieand · 05/10/2013 16:56

pinkbuttons did u ask for a sweep what with baby being so engaged? Xx

apperleydapperley · 05/10/2013 17:32

Wow can't believe there are 25 babies already and its only 5th October!!

FeministInTraining · 05/10/2013 17:35

Congratulations Roxvox I'm loving all the baby news Smile.

Whoever said this was like being on a conveyor belt, I agree. Or being one of the teddies in the grab machines- we're all jumping up and down saying pick me!

The MLU was amazing and the midwife that did my risk assessment was the loveliest one I've come across. I feel so relaxed about it all now, the rooms are like nice hotel rooms! Built last year so all shiny and new with a pool in 3/5 of the rooms. The other 2 rooms have a birthing chair like the one in this video Flyer. And if there isn't a pool in your room you get a bath in the en suite. DP lit up when they said you can order pizza to the unit! And the visiting hours are longer so GPs can come there (there's a sofa in the room) and see the baby before we leave so I'm not worrying about them being right behind us on our way home.

I can't believe I'm so excited about a bloody room, here's hoping baby plays ball and I stay low risk.

Flowers to all the mums looking after new babies, and to the rest of us waiting to be picked! SC @ 38+5. Curry tonight.

claphammama · 05/10/2013 17:40

apperley it was me feeling weird last night and today (as I can't describe it otherwise) and still the same here, although feeling a bit better and calmer after a long walk and lunch out. I feel so hot today that I was tempted to go out in a bikini... glad I'm not the only one roasting and it seems to be normal... ana interesting you are going through exactly the same as me with the same due date! mnippy think I will remove my mattress protector today too, see if it helps.

shooting congrats on your boy's first steps - such a special moment!

nat glad your car is OK after all. They can be such a financial drain...

Hope Rachel is OK. I'm assuming she is SWIL now!

SC here at 37+4 and very ready for this baby to come out.

Bought turbot for dinner. Anyone knows what to do with a turbot...? love it but never cooked it before

xuntitledx · 05/10/2013 17:41

Thanks pink - no news here though unfortunately

claphammama · 05/10/2013 17:44

PS. buttons glad your BP has gone down. How are you doing tarlia?

imp belated happy birthday!! Thanks

textbook sorry your DP is not being supportive...

pinkbuttons · 05/10/2013 17:50

imp sorry missed earlier post. happy birthday for yesterday.

Midwife wont give me a sweep until 41 weeks nat apparently is policy here, have to try reflexology at the MLU on Thursday before theyll give me one.

clapham surely removing your mattress protector will be enough to encourage waters to break tonight, just because of sods law Smile

Natalieand · 05/10/2013 17:54

feminist glad u loved the MLU hoping u stay low risk too, fellow due date buddy here 38+5 :-)

I had a sweep last Monday, curry and dtd and not even one single contraction as a result lol. Next sweep is Tuesday! I hope we have them the same day so neither is left alone lol xx

KarmaBiatch · 05/10/2013 18:02

it is only midday here (in the US) and I've cleaned the house, epilated my legs, baked some cookies and now catching up on Strictly Come Dancing (vanessa feltz - how is she still allowed on the tele?!).

baby.. please arrive soon, I'm bored of being domesticated!!! Grin

MrsHoratioNelson · 05/10/2013 18:10

Hello all and congratulations to Rox. I think you were due the day before me, so surely it must be my turn soon? Sad

Clapham Jamie Oliver had a recipe for turbot in his Italian book called (excuse my Italian) Rombo con finnochio I think. Might be worth a google. Flyer hope the nurses start getting strict with your DH soon.

Spent the day out here, marching around the gardens of a local National Trust place. Can't say I think it's helped much, it just fools me into thinking the BH are the start of something. Getting seriously fed up and uncomfortable. My mother keeps sending me "motivational" text messages which are not helping in the slightest Hmm

apperleydapperley · 05/10/2013 18:12

clapham lets hope the weird feeling is a precursor to labour!

Maybe i'll try the mattress protector removal tonight as well! Had curry last night so don't want again tonight but been eating dates, taking raspberry leaf capsules etc so hope its all working even if slowly! Hopefully i can have a sweep on weds at my mw appointment - she did say so last time.

oh happy bday for yesterday imp Flowers hope you had a nice day

and hello ready

sorry to any others i've missed Cake

OrangeBlossom2 · 05/10/2013 18:14

Happy birthday for yesterday imp.
Good nesting karma!
I wanted the lawn mown so told DH to do it. Does that count as nesting instinct?

ImpOfDarkness · 05/10/2013 18:21

I've pan-roasted turbot a couple of times. Lovely fish.

claphammama · 05/10/2013 18:27

lol - good point buttons. happy to tempt the sods law today!

haha orange - nice delegating skills and it definitely counts as nesting instinct! Grin I was super excited when my cleaner arrived last Wednesday - also counted it as nesting instinct Grin

MrsH thanks - will google. Actually bought fennel too as expected it might go well together. very impressive Italian by the way, you only swapped the double letters Smile (finocchio).

MrsHoratioNelson · 05/10/2013 18:30

Ta Clapham that was the bit I wobbled over :)

OP posts:
claphammama · 05/10/2013 18:38

interesting trivia - this is also how they call a gay man in Italy. in case you ever hear it in an unusual context Smile

MrsHoratioNelson · 05/10/2013 18:44

Which bit, the Rombo or the finocchio?!

OP posts:
claphammama · 05/10/2013 18:44

finocchio (they don't appreciate it of course!)

Flyer747 · 05/10/2013 18:49

So I've just received a text saying my group b strep test results are positive! I can't believe the NHS won't perform this test on me and were just willing to run the risk to my baby. Fuming at the lack of concern regarding this.

Catch up later on thread news x

OrangeBlossom2 · 05/10/2013 18:59

Sorry to hear that flyer. You were expecting that as you had it before weren't you? Did you get the results sent to your midwife as well? Hope they will give you antibiotics if you want them?
Meant to say thanks to legally for recommending the test, I got a text his week too and strep b test was negative but nice to know and not to have to worry about it.

OrangeBlossom2 · 05/10/2013 19:21

Sorry if that sounded like i was rubbing it in by the way flyer. Didn't mean it to. Thanks

FeministInTraining · 05/10/2013 19:24

Thanks Nat let's hope we're not waiting until the 14th though Smile

Flyer I hope they act on the results without you having to fight too much- definitely speak to someone higher if your MW is reluctant to do anything. I often detect a 'computer says no' attitude from the NHS at times. I understand protocol but surely there are times when common sense should prevail? Hmm

MrsH do share your motivational messages! Grin

MrsHoratioNelson · 05/10/2013 19:31

Well on Thursday (EDD) she told me to relax (Hmm) and suggested that listening to some nice whale music might help. You might have guessed (and she should know) that my idea of relaxing is doing something to keep myself busy...

I'm just ignoring her to be honest, I know she's only trying to help, but she's just completely misjudged my likely mood at this stage, which suggests that she wasn't paying any attention at all when I last saw her!
