roofio87 · 05/10/2013 10:00

thanks for the advice legally I've been trying to remember everything I want to ask the mws and been asking questions which I know sound daft but will bother me otherwise!! it's not too sore so far to be honest, a lot of it was internal so more achey than stingy which I think I prefer. saying that can't believe its been less than 24 hours since the birth, so might get worse still!! I'm on lots of lactulose and keeping my fluids up, they want me to poo before I can go home but I'm a bit scared haha!!

chickieno1 · 05/10/2013 10:02

wow roofio! that sounds intense. great that they re happy with hunters tests. hope you have speedy healing! legally s advice spot on.

we re feeding ok here but she s very sleepy. im trying not to stress out too much. she s getting colostrum so we ll take it nice and slow. getting plenty skin to skin which is great.

chickieno1 · 05/10/2013 10:06

rachel hope you re progressing. your dh is impressive!!

flyer how is your dp this am? hope he can come home today.

mon how re you? any news re your discharge

tarlia i m getting the horrible gas pain now boo

caz hope the boys get on well and they re back bdfore you know it

nat fingers crossed mot goes well

FeministInTraining · 05/10/2013 10:13

Lovely news this morning, I've been reading along but not posting so apologies for missing people.

Congratulations Nelly and Chickie and Roofio I'm glad your induction went well. Doing pelvic floor exercises as we speak- I definitely haven't done enough through pg though Sad

MoN I've commented on FB but once again I'm so happy that things are going as well as they can for baby Eliana. Here's hoping she doesn't need surgery straight away- and I totally see what you mean about her looking so lovely and healthy despite being poorly. I'm another one who thinks she's very lucky to have you in her corner, hope you get a bed in RM house.

Rachel I hope things progress quickly for you! I told DP and surprisingly he didn't sound put off- just said all that stuff down there is the same. Hmm

Flyer I hope DP is out of hospital soon and is taking this as a serious warning to slow down with working so he can be healthy for you and baby. He sounds very much like my stubborn step father.

Going to visit MLU at 12, very excited. It's a birth preparation class, no idea what to expect. I want to try out their birthing chair thing though!

Haylebop12 · 05/10/2013 10:29

roofio they want you to poo before you go home? I had ds on Monday night and didn't go until Friday... It's not too bad just feels similar to giving birth. Just relax though :-) take a book with you to concentrate your mind on something else.

Flyer747 · 05/10/2013 10:33

Congratulations Chick and Nelly
Lovely news to waken too Thanks

Dp is still waiting for the consultant to come around. He said his cholesterol tests came back high, however bp seems to have come down. He said that a complete lifestyle change is on the cards, which will be healthy eating, no drinking and lots of exercise.
I do fear that the work ethic won't change. He managed to get the wifi code out of a nurse so was on his laptop all night, and has had hardly any sleep Sad where does this end??!

Feminist what's a birthing chair? Intrigued.

Roofio, I hope you manage to do a poo Grin so you and hunter can go home....ouchy though with the tear.

Caz I hope baby stays in until tomorrow night at least.

chickieno1 · 05/10/2013 11:35

aww flyer you dont need to be worrying about dp now. maybe new baby will be incentive to slow things down and get healthy???

feminist good luck with tour

MotherOfNations · 05/10/2013 11:50

I'm being allowed home this afternoon but I think I'll be heading straight to Yorkhill and will stay there til late. Dp is heading there now with the in-laws and ds. The girls will be desperate to see her too but I think they'll have to wait until tomorrow.

I've been quite sore this time and finding it hard to straighten up but I had a snuggle with one of the babies on the ward this morning and by the time I handed her back I was pain free. It was really strange. Hormones are crazy things.

roxvox · 05/10/2013 11:56

Our beautiful baby daughter was born yesterday (4th October) at 22.44 weighing 7lb 4oz. Her name is Ailla, which is pronounced 'eye-lah' and is Cornish for 'most beautiful' (which she is of course!) ... We are a very happy Mummy and Daddy :) xx

Flyer747 · 05/10/2013 11:58

Rox lovely news Thanks and it is a beautiful name as well. Congratulations xx

OrangeBlossom2 · 05/10/2013 11:58

Yay congratulations roxvox. Beautiful name. Flowers

roofio87 · 05/10/2013 11:58

Huge congrats roxvox. love the name Thanks

TheFalconsmistress · 05/10/2013 11:59

congrats nelly, chick, and roxvox Flowers enjoy hugs with your new bundles of joy xxxx

MrsZzz · 05/10/2013 12:00

Massive congratulations to Nelly, Chickie and Roofio. Enjoy those newborn snuggles.
Flyer hope your DP is ok and starts to make those changes.
MoN so glad you've been able to cuddle Eliana- really hope you get that place to stay near her.

Well I'm now officially overdue and grumpy! Was expecting it to be honest but was awake all night (again) with cramps and mild contractions that have now just settled into a constant back ache. Not helped by DH snoring loudly all night then whinging about not getting enough sleep because I was nudging him. On the plus side I'm losing my plug so things are heading in the right direction at least.

Good luck to those SWIL and sympathy to the rest of you SFW

MrsZzz · 05/10/2013 12:04

X post- congrats Roxvox too- babies are coming thick and fast now Smile

claphammama · 05/10/2013 12:07

congrats chickie and nelly - two little girls! Grin

chickie I was so convinced you would have a boy. Your bump looked like a typical boy bump in the photos!
Do you already have any name ideas? And hope all the wind and pains will go away soon! Please post some photos on FB Smile

roofio congrats again and ouch on the third degree tear... I remember how I suffered with my multiple second degree tears, third degree must feel so much worse... also hope you can have a poo soon and go home - sending you poo inducing thoughts Grin

flyer can't believe the rascal managed to get on Wi-Fi even in the hospital... hope he is OK and can go back home with you today. Also hope it's a good wake up call for him - then it may all be for the best. Fingers crossed the lifestyle change resolution sticks. Told my DP about him this morning (as we know they are twins separated at birth and mine has the same habits / vices and also had a BP scare late last year). Hope he will change once the baby is here too... although I'm too old to believe people can change completely!

I feel very very weird today... can't really say I feel bad and the only way I can describe it is... weird... I was a bit emotional and weak yesterday but felt better last night. And then had a terrible night, also keeping DP awake. I felt like I was roasting and I couldn't stand being in my own body. I felt so unbelievably hot - worse than I felt in July and August. I was going crazy. And I felt claustrophobic and had some panic like moments of extreme anxiety for no reason... it was really weird and terrible. Has any of you ladies had something similar before going into labour? All I can think of is that my hormones must be going crazy... still feeling weird today and a bit sick.

claphammama · 05/10/2013 12:08

wow - crosspost! congrats roxvox! and agree - what a lovely name! Grin
