Congratulations to chickie Thanks

Thanks Cake Thanks Cake Thanks Cake Thanks
For all the other new mummies in the thread.

Did Oddlife check back in after her c-section? I'm having bother getting back into the thread now. You're all taking second place to my gorgeous little Eliana. I spend ages just looking at her photos on my phone instead of using it for mumsnetting now. I'm sure you understand. Grin

Nellysgirl · 05/10/2013 03:56

Finally got a spare hand.
Fast and furious labour (2 hours) at midwife led unit. Water birth with no time to even hold gas and air to my mouth! Had to get out for delivery.
She is amazing!
Slight issue was my placenta didnt deliver after pushing and uncomfortable pulling Confused ended up in ambulance to st Mary's and had to have it removed in theatre with a spinal. Not too bad at all.
She six pounds fourteen and won't stop feeding! I'm tired! Little mite hates it on her own xxx

Nellysgirl · 05/10/2013 03:58

Chickie congrats to you too! Ill have a good catch up ASAP but hope everyone doing well xxxx

Harrumph. Don't seem to be able to sleep past 5:30. DH nearly got a punch on those nose last night when he asked did I think the baby would arrive this weekend. I was very restrained, even though I was tempted to shout HOW THE FUCK SHOULD I KNOW???!!!!! I've told told him I don't want to discuss it.

Oooh more baby news yay!!! Congratulations!!
mon so glad to hear baby Eliana is doing so well, she is a fighter for sure. Totally understand why you want to look at photos of her rather than mn!!
Midwife has booked me in for an appt next week rather than the week after as she doesn't think I'll be waiting much longer but sadly I think she's wrong. I think this baby is a Scorpio not a libra.
Hope your dp is ok flyer

OrangeBlossom2 · 05/10/2013 06:42

Congratulations chick and nelly (at last!) Flowers Yay for more babies!

Completely understandable MoN. Thanks for updating us though.

Flyer I am the same if I am on my own here at night. I hear strange noises and get very anxious. I like having my man around! Hope yours can come home today and that he stops the all night working etc to look after himself and keep fighting fit for looking after you and being a new daddy.

roofio87 · 05/10/2013 06:44

hello and everyone. thinks are predictably mad here but all good. little Hunter is doing well, not taken to feeding much, but has learnt to latch on and suck just not for long. hand expressed some colostrum for him today to keep him going and we're hoping that he'll get it a bit more when the diamorphene I had in labour wears off!! He's had a team of baby doctors fawning all over him today, giving him various heart traces etc as his heart beat is still a little off. but all tests so far look good and they're happy with him!!

labour was quick, they put in the induction pessery at 12am, but had to remove it at 2 as I was having contractions thick and fast then but not dialated much at all. the contractions were agony, but mainly because I went from 0-60 in no time at all. they moved me onto the labour ward at about 8 am as I was bleeding a bit. about 8 30 I said I felt like I wanted to push so they checked and sure enough I was 9cm (having not even been 1cm at 6am!!!) after that and the pushing could start I found the whole thing fairly painless, just exhausting after being up all night. saying that, I did get a third degree tear, 4 tears in total so thats been sore. was taken to theatre to be stitched up straight away so baby and daddy had lots of cuddles. all in all it went well, although glad its over with!!!!!

congrats to nelly and chick can't wait to hear all about your los.
flyer sorry dp is poorly, not what either of you need right now! !

and Thanks to anyone else I've missed!!

roofio87 · 05/10/2013 06:49

oh and mon I haven't been able to catch up properly but I hope you and eliana are doing ok xx

Racheld33 · 05/10/2013 06:51

Congratulations nelly and chick

Glad to here hunter is doing well roofio

Monitoring last night said everything was fine, so sent me home to see if contractions start (and booked me for induction Sunday if they don't)
Had really strong contractions 12-1am and then they disappeared, so had a good sleep, and hoping they're going to come back this morning when I get moving.

And for those who we're asking... Did have a mattress protector on (few!) and DH doesn't appeared traumatised by experience (but did quickly go for a shower!) Grin

OrangeBlossom2 · 05/10/2013 06:53

Eek sounds a bit fast and furious in the end roofio. Thanks glad all seems ok with his heart. Are they done with him now or are there moe tests?

OrangeBlossom2 · 05/10/2013 06:55

Hooray for mr racheld taking one for the team! Hope things progress nicely for you today.

PseudoBadger · 05/10/2013 06:57

Morning everyone, sorry I didn't come back and update yesterday but I was feeling annoyed. I've been essentially told to bugger off for the weekend, take my meds, ignore BP readings unless I have other symptoms as my bloods were fine, even though there was protein in my urine. So here's to Monday when they'd better bloody well get this baby out! Not much movement since last night so I've had breakfast and come back to bed to chill on my left hand side for a while/

Sorry your DP isn't well Flyer - hopefully this might suggest he needs to relax a bit more and enjoy the little things? Hope he gets out today x

So glad Eliana is doing well MoN!

Congrats to Nelly, Chickie, Roofio!

I hope Rachel has progressed well? Love the water story :o

I hope everyone SFW gets some good signs soon.

Iheartcrunchiebars · 05/10/2013 06:58

Great news Nelly and Chicky! Congratulations to you both.

Glad you are ok roofio, that all sounds very dramatic and scary. How much has changed since being on the ttc boards!

Mnippy · 05/10/2013 07:03

Congrats to the new mums, nelly, and chick!!

Roofio, can't believe it happened so fast for you.

SC, hoping baby is decent sized so I can laugh in the face of everyone who nicely and sweetly commented accused me of having a small bump!

Pinkforboys · 05/10/2013 07:20

Welcome to the world baby Chickie & baby nelly! Congratulations! Such nice news to wake up to.

Sanjifair · 05/10/2013 07:44

Congratulations nelly and chickie!
Great birth story roofio, good to hear a 'not too bad' story for an induction. Sounds like the pessary did the trick for you. MoN glad the consultant was able to reassure. Pseudo not long til Monday? flyer hope your DP is ok this morning.
I'm a bit pissed off. Had midwife check yesterday, not engaged at all, not one little bit. Kind of tucked up with head to the side of my pelvis. So all my walking will have done nothing. Had a madras yesterday, but not even a Braxton hick to show for it. I'm not even officially SFW yet at 38+6, but getting impatient and worried about going overdue again.

roofio87 · 05/10/2013 07:49

also can I just say PELVIC FLOOR EXERCISES!!! I did mine a fair bit and I still don't feel good down there now!! don't forget them ladies!!

Natalieand · 05/10/2013 08:00

Ooo to lovely little pink bundles too add to the list!! Congrats nelly and chickieo. Xxxx

Well done on the speedy induction roofio

Any sign of contractions yet rach? Shame u can't dtd now your waters have broken to speed things up hehe bless your dh xxx

MOT for the car today... Is it just me or does anyone else here dread MOT's? Its the thought of it could go from spending £30 for an MOT to spending £100's to get your car road worthy in a matter of minutes. Even though it's being done at dh's work its still not immune from having to need something done lol

How r u feeling this morning MoN ? Xx

Natalieand · 05/10/2013 08:11

SC @ 38+5... 9 days to go single digit count down now

legallyblond · 05/10/2013 08:15

Roofio - thanks for the birth story! I love 'em. Satisfies my secret desire to be an obstetrician! My induced labour was v similar - just the pessary and v quick (2 to 9cm in 45 mins in the bath), but an episiotomy instead of a tear. Poor you with the tear .... I know the agony. My top tips are:

  • slosh with water from a sports top water bottle each time you wee
  • change maternity pads super often
  • short baths (not long as don't want stitches to dissolve too soon) with lavender and tea tree oils and a teaspoon of milk (otherwise the oils just sit on top of the water)
  • after shower, dry down there with the hair dryer on cool
  • plenty of fried fruit to avoid constipation.... Not good when all is tender down there!
  • sit on a comfy cushion at all times for the first few days
  • don't worry if it dull aches for a long time while healing - I obsessively worried that it was infected because no one told me it might dull ache for a few weeks (6 or so in my case) while the muscle knitted together

Congrats again! Hello Hunter!!!

legallyblond · 05/10/2013 08:17

Nat - I hate mot day... Out car and its repairs are the bane of my life (and a hole in my wallet it seems)....
