HeffalumpTheFlump · 04/10/2013 17:34

Nat that is probably some of the worst advice I have ever heard. Ignore!!!

roofio congratulations!!!

jelly sorry to hear you might have to stay in over the weekend, and sorry to hear you are still so sore. Hope things get better for you. Flowers have you got peppermint capsules for the wind? If not send someone to get you some as apparently they really help.

Shirehobbit · 04/10/2013 17:51

Congratulations Roofio

Hope DP is ok, Flyer - not what you need this week x

Good news on the date, Diege

Good luck Chickie

Hope you get baby JC home soon, Jelly

And welcome to maternity leave, Orange! I have had the most lovely, relaxing week - it was much needed. Though we all look forward to our babies appearing, it's nice to have a little time off, too (oh, and my aches and pains are much better for the rest - so hope your pgp reacts similarly).

Sorry to anyone I've missed x

OrangeBlossom2 · 04/10/2013 18:18

Thanks shire, very relieved to have made it to the end without popping out a baby in the classroom and am looking forward to a little rest on maternity leave. Hopefully you are right about it helping my pgp. It probably won't be too long before I am desparate for the baby to be out but for now I am grateful for a little pause.

Got cards and pampering things from my team and cards and John lewis vouchers from everyone. Really surprised and pleased as we didn't do anything for the last pregnant lady who left as a staff.

Nat I agree that sounds very dodgey advice. Go in again if you are worried, that's what they are there for.

Flyer sorry about your DP, hope all is well.

Livened · 04/10/2013 18:22

nat I'm amazed at that being their advice regarding movements. I went in last week to my triage unit and they said to call anytime I had reduced movement - even if it's every day, they would much rather I go back and everyone be ok, than not and something bad of happened. How can one scan cover a set time period? Hoping you get lots of movement over the coming days xxx

claphammama · 04/10/2013 18:27

congrats roofio!

flyer so sorry to hear about your DP... the last thing you need right now... these are really high readings - good that they are monitoring him but hope he can be back with you soon xxx

MoN what an insensitive cow that cleaner... If only she knew how much she must have hurt you with these thoughtless words... sending you a hug and hope you managed to get some Eliana cuddles today. Thinking of you and your lovely little girl xxx

jelly sorry you are in pain and hope your little boy is OK and will pass all the tests soon!

orange welcome to ML! Have you managed to book your 38 weeks appointment by the way? I'm also struggling here - GPs seem very busy all of a sudden

and wow... so many of you with similar DH / DP problems! it makes me feel slightly better - confirming that he is just a "basic male" as I like to call them. Shame I have zero lesbian tendencies though... otherwise, I'm beginning to think that they may have a point...! Grin

Livened · 04/10/2013 18:27

Any chance some kind person with a oc would enter me onto the stats sheet? I only ever use an iPad or iPhone which I can't seem to work!

SC EDD 12/10/13
Boy - planning on Samuel Oliver James

Thanks muchly!

X

claphammama · 04/10/2013 18:29

I knew I was forgetting something

diege sorry about your placenta being stubborn but at least you have a date you can look forward to

nat what a lot of rubbish... ignore them and go back if you are worried again

orange glad you had such a nice send off!

OrangeBlossom2 · 04/10/2013 18:30

Ys clapham DH is more available during the quiet phone hours and called up to book me one for Friday when I will be 38+5 which is fine. Glad to have it sorted.

claphammama · 04/10/2013 18:37

great. I've just called mine again and also have one for next Friday :-) will be 38+3 - had to throw my toys out of the pram though as they didn't want to give me any next week! It's taken them a week to find a slot...

OrangeBlossom2 · 04/10/2013 18:41

Glad you've got one booked Clapham. Ridiculous that it takes such an effort. Midwife was cross that they were being difficult about appointments as they get paid for them apparently (I asked if I could have it with her instead if couldn't arrange).

textbook · 04/10/2013 18:52

diege sorry to hear about your placenta not moving. Mine was the same, but I found the CS to be a very calm and positive experience, and had no issues with blood loss or the placenta during the op. Good luck for the 14th Thanks

Flyer hope your DP is ok and home soon xx

MoN that cleaner is a twat. Hope you've had lovely time with E this afternoon Thanks

Flyer747 · 04/10/2013 18:56

So DP just called he has had blood tests, and is now waiting to have an ECG then he has to be seen by a senior DR before they can proceed with what to do medication wise. He may have to stay over night but unlikely he says. He says it's pointless me going down to him unless he is admitted over night.

Roofio already congratulated you on fb, but congratulations again Thanks

Nat that seems silly advice very blasé in my opinion.

Jelly hope you can get out with jelly baby very soon.

Welcome to the ML club orange, you did well to last so long with the pgp.

Racheld33 · 04/10/2013 19:08

Congratulations to serious and roofio lovely to keep hearing of new arrivals!

MoN really hope you got to see Eliana this afternoon Thanks

After 48 hours of cramps after my sweep, I told DH that he had to step up and finish what he started 9 months ago. I really couldn't face it, but thought it was worth a try, so after 1 min of dtd my waters broke everywhere over me/him/bed-proper gushing out!

No real contractions yet though so triage told me to go in 10 o'clock tonight so they can have a monitor for half an hour.

Mnippy · 04/10/2013 19:24

!! rachel that's hilarious! Good luck!

flyer, sorry to hear about your DH. Not what you need right now.

Tarlia · 04/10/2013 19:33

Hehe rachel that's hilarious! Hope you had a protector on!

flyer sorry to hear about DP :( they are some really crazy readings. Has he told them he was working until 6am as sleep (lack of) can really effect it apparently.

mon I'm so sorry to hear that the cleaner upset you. What a cow! How were the snuggles with E?

nat ignore ignore ignore! You go back there every day if you have reduced movements! Please don't listen to them.

jelly huge congrats. I was shocked about the pain and wind too. Unfortunately you really do need to let it out some how. Are you up and about?

I wonder if any thread babies will be born on the 13th. It'll be a fun birthdate 13/10/13.

MotherOfNations · 04/10/2013 19:35

I'll catch up with everyones posts later but just wanted to let you know that Eliana Is off the ventilator and breathing on her own. I even got to hold her. I really didn't think I'd be allowed so soon.
I spoke to the cardiologist and he is angry that the maternity hospital went against what he had said about being allowed time with her etc. He said that many fellow doctors were angry with him and couldn't understand why he was allowing me to deliver in the hospital of my choice but that he stands by what he said as that was what was best for me and what I wanted.

They have stopped the drug tonight that is keeping her duct open. There is a small chance that it may stay open. If it does they won't have to do the BT shunt op and we can take her home until it's time for her heart surgery but the expectation is that she will need the surgery.

pinkbuttons · 04/10/2013 19:38

rachel that made me Grin glad things are moving now though! and after a day of getting excited over cranping I may have to give it a go tonight! Hope contractions start soon.

flyer hope your DP doesnt have to stay in tonight and the medication helps. is good that its all getting reviewed before baby arrives but sorry youve got the extra stress to deal with x

Congratulations roofio he looks gorgeous.

natalie sorry to hear your DAU arent very sympathetic that sounds like ridiculous advice to give you re:scan and as everyone else has said I would ignore it. Hope your little man gets more wriggly and its not an issue though.

MoN im another one who would like to hit that cleaner for being so rude. Hope youve managed to see Eliana this afternoon xx

pseudo sorry to hear youve had another stressful day in hospital. hope all is ok x

orange Congratulations on starting maternity leave Grin

sorry to everyone ive missed but sending Thanks to all those struggling or SWIL

Im heading back to my seat on the bus after an exciting morning of cramps, hoping for a good nights sleep and a due date baby tomorrow... SC at 39+6

Bronzemoth · 04/10/2013 19:40

sanji Oops I'm sorry. Just getting a bit confused with the ever increasing number of arrivals. I'm finally on ML (although still have to spend Sunday in the office sending emails/clearing my desk) so I won't be trying to read 14 pages of postings all at the same time anymore!! I shall be celebrating with homemade Pizza and a glass of Bavaria!

Congratulations Roofio! Great name

Rachel I like your style..

SC (39+1 weeks).

pinkbuttons · 04/10/2013 19:41

sorry cross posted MoN just wanted to say how lovely it is to hear you got to have a cuddle and Eliana is off the ventilator already. Not that we had any doubt bt she really is a strong little lady already isnt she. Really hope she is able to avoid this surgery and you are able to take her home soon to wait. Sending you hugs and hope your feeling better for a cuddle with your gorgeous girl. x

Bronzemoth · 04/10/2013 19:43

MoN I'm thrilled you got to hold little Eliana.

Wickedgirl · 04/10/2013 19:45

Mon....it must have been lovely for you to have a proper cuddle with her. I am so glad that it all looks good at the moment. I hope you slapped the cleaner hard in your head........who the hell does she think she is? How are you doing in yourself?

Rachel...... That's so funny! Your poor DH. Grin

Flyer........ I hope your DP is ok and that his numbers come down quickly.

Nat........ Like everyone else is saying, if you are worried at any point, get it checked out. Please don't sit at home worrying.......if you are worried it is worth getting it looked at. I would make a formal complaint about the person you saw. That advice could have very serious consequences. There are a couple of ladies on our bus that have had an emcs as a result of having their worries checked out and it being proved that the babies weren't moving as much as they should.

Good luck to all those SWIL.

Flyer747 · 04/10/2013 19:53

That's fantastic news about Eliana Mon, really nice to hear you got a cuddle and she is breathing on her own.

Rachel that's so funny. I'm going to have to start dtd it seems to work for folk.

DP called and the doctors want him to stay in over night for some extra tests, his kidneys and more detailed blood tests. So just had to unpack the babies hospital bag to pack his hospital bag, didn't think it would be me visiting him in hospital at this stage.

Pls baby don't come tonight!

Pinkforboys · 04/10/2013 19:58

MoN Eliana is beautiful. So lovely to hear that she's breathing on her own- you must be proud and relieved. Fx that the news about the op is good too. Are you able to stay close to her tonight?

Rachel- love it! You've given us all a LOL Grin Desperately want to share with DH but I really couldn't face DTD with my reflux...

It really is so lovely to see all the new bubbas on FB. It amazes me how different they all look- such individual characters already.

Looking forward to hearing of today's new additions. Funkky Chickie and I've lost track of who else was OWT and SWIL.

Oh, I'm feeling all gushy!!!

Haylebop12 · 04/10/2013 20:09

Finally getting chance to post although I have been keeping up as best I can!

Congratulations to the new mummies! Hope your all enjoying cuddles. jelly hope baby passes his tests soon. Try not to worry.

Mon so pleased to hear you got cuddles and glad that your consultant had realised the errors in the care you have received. I had a similar experience with a hosp rep person that you had with the cleaner. Isaac had just been taken and she came round to do some sort of survey. Her first words were "where is your baby" well actually he's just been taken to.neonatal and I'm pretty shaken up about it all so just f off with your stupid survey. Thank you. Oh and I was loaned a pump from the hospital. Amazing it was. I didn't get much hand expressing but once they sorted the pump and my milk was in I could express 4-5 oz from each breast in 8-12 minutes so keep trying but don't stress about it.

Rachel I just had a little chuckle to myself. Hope monitoring goes well and your Labour really kicks off. Dd was born 4.5 hours after my waters going!

flyer sorry to hear about your dp. I hope he gets well soon.

Nat I've never been for monitoring but what they said sounds like the biggest load of twaddle i ever heard!

Orange welcome to mat leave. Make the most of it... I was robbed of 3 weeks!

Isaac is doing really well. The midwife, Health visitor and neonatal nurse that have visited are really pleased with him. He was weighed yesterday and after initially losing 4oz be has regained 2oz in 3 days. I've got quite a supply of expressed milk so tried him with a bottle yesterday which he took to really well so he's managing to switch between boob and bottle without fuss. It will come in handy when I'm out and about and don't wanna get my boob out although I think dh is less comfortable about it than me. He's such a calm baby but I guess that's cuz he's still quite sleepy and I'm getting it quite easy atm! He cluster feeds from 11pm-2am then settles really well until 7ish.

[Thanks] to everyone fed up, tired and generally exhausted. It will all be over soon.

legallyblond · 04/10/2013 20:10

Hands full, but....

MoN - so happy you had a cuddle and Eliana is doing as well as she can. Did you get to the bottom of the diagnosis and prognosis?

Roofio - congrats!!!! Welcome Hunter! Birth story please!

Rachel - hilarious! Good luck x x

Flyer - Flowers
