Booboobedoo, I think its great that your dh is taking responsibility for you feeling sick. I'd milk it for all its worth! I had realllly bad sickness last time, so I'm bracing myself for it to set in (no sign yet). I was being sick about 20 times a day from weeks 5-28 last time . So I know how you are feeling. I'm 5 weeks now and so far so good, only the odd wave of nausea. Is this your first? or are you an old pro?

wheelybug · 13/07/2006 18:21

Evening all !

Saw the doctor today - confirmed 15 March and got the ball rolling with the forms. Not much else really as expected apart from blood pressure which misbehaved the first two times she took it but was fine the 3rd time (dd was IUGR possibly linked to pre-eclampsia so I guess I will be watched like a hawk !)... don't want that business to start already.

Good news though that she weighed me (and I was NEVER weighed with dd - in fact I don't think my MIL believed me as she spent my whole pregnancy asking me how much weight I'd put on as she'd only put on an ounce or something similarly ridiculous !!) and I'd lost weight. Always a bonus, even though the only way is up now !!

Hello Dixia !!

Glad you're feeling strong thankyoupoppet and still thinking of you trace.

spook · 13/07/2006 18:55

Wheelybug I can't believe you've lost weight. I,ve put on 4 pounds!!!!!!!!! I think that could be 2 pound per breast though.
Great news on your due date.
Also-my legs and feet are SO SO SO SO ITCHY
Its really driving me round the bend. What is it??
I'm going out tonight and I am so going to have a glass of champagne.

wheelybug · 13/07/2006 19:02

spook I have been telling myself all day that I must have lost more and put some back on due to increased chest size (and another part of me keeps thinking that maybe the scales were out !).

Enjoy your glass of champagne - I think I might sneak one in tomorrow as its my birthday and next weekend is my wedding anniversary so might sneak another then !!

Don't know what the itching is though - have you been to the docs yet ? maybe you could mention it then but its probably just hormones making the skin drier or something (she says attempting to sound knowledgable but failing miserabyl !)

dixia · 13/07/2006 19:23

I get stupidly itchy legs all the time. I have v dry skin. Lots of people get cracked hands or heels in pregnancy, something to do with the oils that would be used for skin being used elsewhere. Sorry, not very specific, but its probably the same reason. Do a search for cracked skin and pregnancy and you may find info.

spook · 13/07/2006 19:35

Thanks girls! Off for my champers. Have a nice evening!

Piffle · 13/07/2006 20:18

I'm worried now as am getting break out spots like before af
Will not relax til I've seen the weekend out at all....
Welcome Dixia

themum · 13/07/2006 22:03

Headaches have accompanied all 3 of my pregnancies. In fact my overall experience of being PG is like a bad nine month hangover. Kind of ironic I guess.

Booboobedoo · 14/07/2006 13:15

Hey dixia. No, I'm a first-timer.

20 times a day? Jesus!

I threw up twice yesterday and was feeling extremely sorry for myself.

Haven't thrown up yet today, but all I've had are rich tea biscuits and lemon barley water. Not good.

Re your itchy legs, go to babycentre.co.uk - they've got info on all that stuff.

Piffle - try and relax (I know it's easier said than done). You got a good strong line, didn't you? Hope you can enjoy the fact that you're PG.

Hope you enjoyed your champagne, spooks

Booboobedoo · 14/07/2006 13:46

btw, happy birthday wheelybug!

LaidbackinAsia · 14/07/2006 14:16

Happy Birthday Wheelybug !

Haven't been sick yet but am getting my usual extreme nausea at bad smells. sed to walk about retching into plastic bags during my last 2 pregancies, I'm sure everyone thought I was sniffing glue !

The smell problem is an interesting one here in Sri Lanka as there are quite a few open drains to contend with - nice . On the plus side, have spent a lovely day on the beach with everyone and DH is just cooking supper (we're 4 1/2 hours ahead).

Hope England is warm but not to hot for all of you.

dixia · 14/07/2006 15:43

Booboobedoo, I'm sure that I got into a really bad cycle during my last pg. I was sick so early on, I didn't feel like eating so I never did and after a while I couldn't hold anything down. I know now that I should have made myself eat as much as I could early on and drink as many fluids as poss. I lost over 2.5 stone and was admitted to hospital for rehydration twice. I was a mess - I couldn't even stand upright at one point and was so malnourised that even when the sickness began to subside I didn't have the strength for the most simple of things. Anyway you really don't want to get that bad. So try and eat and drink whenever you can. And if it gets worse than it is, see the doc and try and get some anti-sickness stuff.

Ok, rant over. I'm not sick at all yet, but getting all sorts of odd pains in my tummy when i am tired. I think someone is telling me to lie down and take it easy. I had to teach a 2 hour dance class today (thank god I'm not throwing up!)

dixia · 14/07/2006 15:44

Oh, and Happy Birthday Wheelybug! Hope you are having a lovely day XXX

Booboobedoo · 14/07/2006 15:48

Thanks dixia

I really can't keep anything except dry biscuits down before lunch-time, but I managed beans on toast for lunch, and it's stayed in! Also I'm constantly sipping so I don't get dehydrated.

I'm treating it like a stomach-bug, which seems to be working.

Also lovely DH has bought me lots of lovely soups & things.

Sorry to hear about the open drain thing laidback - I can't even go near the bin.

spook · 14/07/2006 16:45

Happy Birthday Wheelybug!
Hope you're feeling OK this afternoon Booboo...
Piffle-its Friday. The weekend is nearly here then you can relax!!
Any news on your scan ChaCha?
I have been out with DS's for the day and am bloody exhausted. I swear I could've fallen asleep at the wheel driving home
We're all rosy and tired from the sunshine.

Piffle · 14/07/2006 16:48

I am partly dreading partly wanting the sickness (I know I'll regret saying that)
I had bad HG with dd (nothing with ds 12) very different pregs, with different fathers.
I have seen the morningwell cd's and pregie pops they seem really good products.
I was a mass last time withdd, I am already making myself eat a good healthy breakfast - I normally skip til 11 and have fruit or one slice of toast.

one thing though
pre natal vitamins, if you're gagging at tea how the hell can you swallow a small torpedo?

Piffle · 14/07/2006 16:48

And happy birthday wheelybug!!!!!!!

wheelybug · 14/07/2006 19:53

Thanks for the birthday wishes !!

I celebrated this morning with my head down the toilet ! Great - I am now with you Boo! I had MS weeks 10-18 last night which was a bit odd but then had a pretty odd pregnancy all round so am hoping this is a sign of a normal pregnancy !

Managed lunch out though today so wasn't too bad !

kikidee · 14/07/2006 20:56

Ladies, I would like to say hello and add myself to this thread. I will be 5 weeks tomorrow and my calculation of my due date is 18.3.07 but I haven't seen my GP yet so that may change.

I feel OK most of the time but I am absolutely ravenously hungry a lot of the time. Anyone else like that? I feel as if I could eat the house.

I have one DS who is 27 months so we will have a 3 year gap.

dixia · 14/07/2006 21:03

Welcome Kikidee - hoorah for March babies!

Can't say i'm very hungry at all, in fact my appitite has dimished significantly. I haven't gone off tea this time though - still enjoying my morning cuppa.

mum2oliver · 14/07/2006 21:53

Kikidee my ds is 27 months and Im due on march 16th.I think it will be a great gap.
Im starving and a little short tempered.
I called my gp and dont need to go to him now.Iv been told to call back closer to being 10weeks and see the midwife. She then books me in,gives me the relevant form etc and will put through for the scan.Iv heard that my hospital has a back log of scans and my friend didnt get her scan until she was 14weeks.Is that a bit late.Shoul I be worried?

kikidee · 14/07/2006 22:42

Hi Dixia and mum2oliver, I suppose 14 weeks is a bit late. Last time, I had my scan at 9 weeks and then they gave me another one about 14 weeks as the first one was so early.

A little short-tempered?? It was my irrational behaviour that made me do another test! I had tested a few days before period was due and the test was negative, so I then tested a few days after because I got really cross with my DS over nothing at all and got BFP.

DH is a bit unsure about the whole thing as he had only recently agreed that we could have another baby so he's still trying to get his head around it all but I think he'll be fine.

wheelybug · 14/07/2006 22:46

welcome kikidee !

Mum2Oliver - I think the scan IS too late IF your hospital does a nuchal fold scan too as I think this has to be done before 14 weeks. I know some places do blood tests instead so in this case, it wouldn't be a problem - other than the wait ! In some places they don't do a 12/13 week scan just a 20 week one.... that must be a nightmare though !!

1973magpie · 14/07/2006 22:57

Just a quick hello today, am off to bed

Happy Birthday Wheelybug (at least what's left of it now!)

Night all

Booboobedoo · 14/07/2006 22:58

Welcome kikidee! Is that after Paul Weller's ex? I used to teach his kids!

Sorry to hear you've joined me in the wonderful world of pukeness wheelybug, but glad you enjoyed your lunch.

Am posting now as this is when I feel my best.

Does anyone watch BB? Can't believe they voted Nicky out! That's mad! It won't be worth watching without her.
