pinkranger - so sorry to hear your news will be thinking of you today

themum · 17/08/2006 09:21

So sorry pinkranger.

Leog. Congrat. Think I'm a bit jealous of your twins! Don't tell DH...

Week 9 and my nausea is fading too. What a bonus. Think it lasted 9 months last time.

Piffle · 17/08/2006 09:54

eidsvold I am just giving myself up to whatever takes my fancy
Porridge is playing a great part in reducing my morning nausea, and I am wanting salad and fish.
Got my booking in with midwife today - due to dd's syndrome they wish to introduce me to a comprehensive screening programme..
They are ignorant, it cannot be picked up for definite by anything in utero...
[sigh]
And no doubt they'll tell me it precludes me from having a home birth oh that and being too old I guess... I am contemplating an independent midwife, we cannot really afford it though.. we'll see

chitchat07 · 17/08/2006 10:43

Pinkranger - so sorry you are going through this.

Madhide - glad it has settled down.

I must say, I am really nervous about the scan for that very reason. Haven't told any family or friends apart from Mum and MIL, as I couldn't deal with having to tell everyone about the miscarriage, especially as pregnancy news travels faster. I know I have felt so bad in the past congratulating someone on their pregnancy and being told they had had a miscarriage.

k1w1 · 17/08/2006 10:51

Hi all
Sorry I haven't logged on for ages.
We went to the OB on Monday and had a scan. He aged the embryo at 6.5 wks - two whole weeks younger than my dates! He said it was pefectly healthy, perfectly placed for the age of it etc.
Anyway, since then I have lost my symptoms - breast soreness, tiredness, nausea - and had some light brown bleeding growing darker today. We have spoken to the OB again and it's obviously not looking good.
We are both totally devastated - really did think that we had done our time! We will see what happens over the next few days, but just as I knew I was pregnant before it was confirmed, I know that it's not going to last.
If by some miracle it's OK I will let you know, otherwise hope everything goes OK for everyone else over the next few months.

PS: all the antipodeans: I'm from Auckland originally but also lived in Sydney for 10 yrs.

Jaysecond · 17/08/2006 11:35

Pinkhide , i am so saddened by your news, it brings it home to you that anything can happen at any time (we were due the same time) please accept my hugs and wishes that things get better for you in time

K1w1, my thoughts are with you also, when you find out for sure, let us know. Fingers crossed for you [hugs]

kittywits · 17/08/2006 12:10

k1w1 that once happened to me. Had a bit of bleeding, went for a scan and they put the embryo at about 2 weeks behind my dates. it had a heart beat and everything, but the dating didn't make sense to me. Unfortunately that one didn't woork out, hopefully yours will

babycakes26 · 17/08/2006 12:26

kiwi. they put me back by 4 weeks, but i was on the pill so not sure really when i concieved. Ive had no bleeding, but im still very very worried. im sort of prepared for the worst i suppose! thats why i havent posted for a while, i feel like its tempting fate!

Pink ranger. Im very sorry for you! i had a missed mc last august. I ended up having the d+c a month later because i was still bleeding VERY heavily and losing clots. i wish i'd had it done straight away, sort of ends it all! xxxx

Oh Kiwi, I am so sorry this is happening. Please let us know how it goes.

fatfox · 17/08/2006 15:56

This is really sad. I'm so sorry Pinkranger. I had a missed MC in October and its grim. I too hope the D&C goes well.

K1W1, thinking of you.

pennygaff · 17/08/2006 16:03

Hi Ladies
Just joined today after seeing Mumsnet on the News, I am due on 20 March 2007, its my first baby and its all a bit scary.
Sorry to read the sad news of some people here today.
I am finding early pregnancy to be a very turbulent time mentally and physically. Is Anybody else expecting for the first time?

Jaysecond · 17/08/2006 16:26

Hi Penny, and welcome to you. Sorry you had to join on such a sad day, try not to let it add to your turbulance! there are a few first timers i think am sure they will let themselves be known! there is a stats thread if you want to add to it here

I remember with my first i was completely hit by all the emotions, would cry at the daftest thing and fly off into a mood/rage at another. Its too be expected so dont worry, it does pass! This time round i am completely different, non of the same symptons at all, and not really on a rollar coaster of emotions, although there have been a few time when my irrational behaviour has been blamed on my pregnancy.......!

Well we have finally exchanged contracts after a horrid four weeks of date changing, so thinkg are definatly on the move, three weeks tomorrow and we move! i'll becoming up 14 weeks then and prob not in any fir state to do any of the redecorating the new house needs!!

K1w1 how are you babe and hows everyone else feeling today?

puzzle · 17/08/2006 19:46

Hi everyone.

Haven't been able to check in recently as things have been manic at work, its just about all I can do to crawl into bed when I get home!

I have finally lost my mind. Sitting here reading posts about how pregnant everyone is and couldn't even remember where I am now - 11+1 (had to get my diary and work it out!!) V.bad!

There is so much to comment on from the past few days but my brain hurts when I think, but would like to say how sorry I am to pinkranger and lots of hugs and kisses to you.
Thinking of you K1w1, hope all is well.

kittywits · 17/08/2006 20:23

Hi Penny, don't be scared! Really enjoy your first pregnancy. Not having other children to look after means you can look after yourself and get all the rest you want. I can just about remember those days, but of course I didn't appreciate them at the time, who does ?!!!

Ds1 is having his 8th b'day party tomorrow, God I dread them. Hoards of hyper boys. Looks like the drought is about to break where I live just for the duration of the party and all the planned activities are outdoors, have to be resourceful!!!

It's strange that since the scan yesterday I've actually felt alot more pregnant and seem to have much stronger symptoms than before. I wonder whether I was ignorong them because I didn't want to get my hopes up. Sadly for me being pregnant hasn't dampened my desire for alcohol. it's only been 7 months since dd3's birth and I am resenting having to go on the wagon again. What a moany old bint I am tonight, sorry

Any news anyone? How are you madhide? Have things settled down?

Jaysecond · 17/08/2006 20:31

Right there with you Kittywits, am in EXACTLY the same boat re alcohol and the last baby, so know what youre thinking. DH's 30th bday in two weeks, will have to watch him have all the fun! Guess i will be the one driving

Going for a long bath now, then an early night, catch you all later xx

fatfox · 17/08/2006 20:59

Hi there Marchers

I've got my nuchal scan tomorrow and am really nervous. In fact, "shitting it" would be a suitable phrase in this instance. I'm 43 and convinced its all going to be very worrying news. How can I calm myself between now and tomorrow pm?

Also, have to take the kids with me and DH won't be there.

aaaaarrrggh - I'm an insomniac at the best of times, so better take a good book to bed with me tonight!

DollyP · 17/08/2006 21:29

Hi ladies

Another quick one from me, as my bed is calling after an exciting day battling the sickness. Fatfox, I will be keeping everything crossed for your scan honey. Have you any rescue remedy? Usually I'd advise a nice big gin but perhaps not in the circumstances.

Welcome penny. Congratulatiosn on the house Jaysecond. Thanks for the good wishes piffle

Off upstairs now to clutch the bed. See you tomorrow. DH at cricket tomorrow so have to brave DD on my own all day. Hope she sleeps a lot or I'll never cope.

Good night XXXXX

ProfYaffle · 17/08/2006 21:37
