Dixia - hope your ms has eased off enough for you to enjoy your holiday, it sounds great, I love driving from city to city on holiday.

Kittywits - great news about the scan, I'm waiting impatiently to hear how it was! Horror for you to be looking after 5 children when you are so tired. when do they go back to school? do they not have any holiday clubs or play schemes for the kids in your area?

As for the twins, they appear to be identical , the doctor couldn't see any divide in the amniotic sac - which I think is great.

Morocco - WHen I had the scan I was crying so much that I had to get the doctor to show me the heartbeat of each of them several times because I couldn't see anything! One of them was moving around a lot, the other was very still. I also asked him to confirm that they had separated properly (after reading the story recently about the poor siamese girl just having an op to separate them) - they have ! I'm definitely wiser as they aren't my first babies but the other mums with toddlers will understand that I keep asking myself how the hell I'm going to cope!

Morning All

Leo - That is so exciting but scary at the same time I have a friend who has 7 week old twin boys and a 2 year old ds.

She is doing really well, breastfeeding the twins which I find amazing but she actually says it is easier. She said it isn't actually as bad as she was expecting she prepared herself for the worst and it hasn't been anywhere near as bad.

I am a bit worried this morning I had a little bit of blood when I went to the loo only the smallest amount on the tissue but I have never had any bleeding and have had really busy days recently and my dh has been telling me to slow down and now I feel bad.

I know it is probably nothing to worry about but just looking for a bit of reasurrance

DollyP · 16/08/2006 09:49

Hi madhide

Sorry to hear about your bleeding. I bled a bit when pg with DD and it was fine. First of all, are you sure it's coming from your fanny? (not from your bottom - could be a pile). Also (please forgive the directness ), if you have had sex recently that could make your fanny bleed a little as your tissues are engorged with more blood and more sensitive.

If definitely fanny, is it bright red or brownish? Brownish suggests old blood and generally is not a worry. Red is more concerning but doesn't mean the worst. If you have lots / cramping pain / clots passing then you should call either your MW or the Early Preg Unit at the hosp for reassurance. They may ask you to go for a scan to see what is going on. Otherwise, I would rest up for a while and see if it happens again.

Hope this helps. I will be "around" for a while yet if you want to chat some more. Take care honey and try not to worry too much.

Big hugs xxxx

Hi, just got back from the scan. I thought my heart was going to burst through my chest I was hyperventilating. Anyway there was a little baby, heart beating away and all the dates matched perfectly. So now I'm 8+3! my symptoms have been really mild which has been a worry, but obviously that doesn't matter at the mo. I think I won't relax much until the 12 week scan.

Madhide, sorry about the worry with the bleeding, hope it settled down for you. Will you ask for a scan?

leogaela · 16/08/2006 12:09

Madhide - everything OK? I would have thought if there was anything wrong you would have had cramps. Let us know.

Kittywits - that is FANTASTIC (and at least you know there is only one in there !). Now relax and enjoy you gang of little people at home !

chitchat07 · 16/08/2006 13:00

Hi all,

Congratulations Leo. Twins, wow!!

DollyP - whereabouts in SE London are you? I'm near Greenwich, and am booked in to QEH for my scan.

This is week 10, and I think my morning (day) sickness is easing up. Either that or I am finally learning to keep the food coming! If I go about 3 hours without a nibble I feel dreadful. My cold is finally easing up. I'm so paranoid about what I can take, that I am only taking vitamin C (with zinc) and echinacea, and going through tissues by the box.

Catching up with some family this evening, and don't want to let them know until after the scan. At least the cold is a good excuse for feeling poorly and not having any alcohol! Hope they're not too observant though, as I don't trust them to keep quiet.

stretchmarks · 16/08/2006 13:11

Hi Madhide,

Hope you're ok I'm having the same worry - had a little bleed yesterday and told myself not to worry. Thought it was a one off but just had a little bit more again. Have spoken to the midwife who has just told me to rest but it's hard to relax when you're going to the loo to check every 5 mins. I'm hypersensitive to every slight ache and pain as well. I had a bit of spotting with DS1 as well and trying to remember what stage that was at - all turned out well there hope it's the same this time.

madhide · 16/08/2006 13:26

Thanks all for your messages

Yes Dolly sure it is my fanny and is red not brown but there isn't much at all just a little bit

I hope everything is ok woth you stretchmarks

I am going to try not to worry and go and have a lie down whilst dd is sleeping

leogaela · 16/08/2006 13:33

madhide - if you are worried call your doctor or midwife. don't sit and worry about it on your own.

novadandypowder · 16/08/2006 15:16

madhide and stretchmarks, I'm the same, found that I was spotting this morning. Trying not to worry and resting up as much as is possible with a moody teething 10 mo. Spookily enough I had a dream that I was bleeding and found it when I woke up.

good news on the twins

glad others are feeling a bit better - I wish I could curl up in a ball and wake up in 7 months time.

nova 8wks

Piffle · 16/08/2006 16:12

nova hope it settles down, you sound very sane about it honey!
Madhide how is your bleeding? I hope yours calms down and everything is ok too.

I've had a shocking day, some sort of mad tummy upset this morning, TMI alert ** both ends at the same time, very undignified and had to use dd's step stool upside down to be sick in as it was so unexpected. Went all hot and cold and shaky and nearly fainted
Dd was ADORABLE though...
Things have settled down since then but I feel crapola.
I truly canont wait until this first grotty patch is passed. It really takes the joy out of finally getting pregnant after 3 heartbreaking years of trying
But anyway I want salad I want to cook salmon so I'm off to the supermarket... One day at a time missus
Hope everyone is ok
Kitty great news about your scan! I'm 8+3 too!!!!!!!!

Piffle · 16/08/2006 16:13

Sorry stretchmarks meant to send good luck hugs to you too honey pie xxxxxxxxx

stretchmarks · 16/08/2006 16:57

Thanks Piffle,

I'm sure we'll all be ok it just plays on your mind so much. Will give my mum a ring later as she was very reassuring when it happened with DS1 a very calm "ooh it happened with all of mine" making it sound like just another symptom which given how many women it affects is I suppose one way of looking at it.

Hope you're feeling better soon

pinkranger · 16/08/2006 18:54

Hi Ladies,
Just thought i would drop in to tell you the news, Unfortantly i have had a missed miscarrage , went for scan today (10 +2) as had very slight bleed on monday, they couldnt find a heart beat and did a colour one and nothing showed up. Baby died at 6 +5, i am booked into have D + C tomorrow as i fell that now that it over i want to be able to deal with it and not sit here waiting for it to leave me. Also the thought that it has been 3 weeks and nothing has happend make me wonder weather it will.

I wish all you ladies a happy and healthy nine months and will be keeping an eye out for the birth annouments in March xxxxx

kittywits · 16/08/2006 19:32

Pinkranger, so sorry for you. It is a horrible thing to happen. My first mc was like yours and I didn't know anything about it until 12 weeks when I started to bleed. A d&c is a good idea as it will enable you to move on sooner rather than later. Fingers crossed for you, best of luck

madhide · 16/08/2006 19:33

Oh Pink Ranger I am so sorry - sending big hugs to you

It seems to have stopped I am so relieved and just gonna rest up tonight and try and take it easy

Piffle · 16/08/2006 20:04

XX

eidsvold · 17/08/2006 03:45

so sorry pinkranger

eidsvold · 17/08/2006 04:22

having bouts of night sickness - seem to be nauseous first thing in the morning and then again in the evening. All i want is stodgy potato things or thinks like meat pies/sausage rolls and things like that. Could not stomach the thought of a nice ham and salad sandwich - but a sausage roll was great. Funny thing. With dd1 all I wanted was potato salad - have no idea how many gallons of the stuff I must have eaten.

LaidbackinAsia · 17/08/2006 04:44

So sorry to hear your news pink ranger. Hope today goes OK.Love and hope for the future xx
