As you can tell I am completely rubbish at this computer stuff, I'm a nursery nurse for goodness sake1 Kids are my thing!
Let me know if it works so I don't feel so daft!!!!

laughalot · 05/08/2006 14:31

Jaysecond it wasnt me you told ... West bridgeford is nice hope you and your little family will be happy there.

Jaysecond · 05/08/2006 15:31

Laughalot, i was being retorical...hehehe, i was 'supposing' that you were my SIL and that by telling you i where i was moving to in Nottingham, then i was spilling the beans!! LOL
Where do you live in Nottingham?

Hi all the rest of the gang, hows things going? I am having a good day re MS todya, have managed to stave it off... i did have the most awful upset tummy though last night, and every few mins running to the loo, for one end or the other (sorry for TMI) I think it was some blueberrys that i had had for breakfast, as when i looked at the use by date it was the 30 Aug... i mean i know its not that out of date but, still.... i felt so bad worrying if it could cause any damage to beanie. Even worse my mum was visiting for the night, and i felt bad having to lie to her, so in the end i caved and told her i was 9 wks gone! She almost fell off her chair, and wouldnt believe us for a few minutes! She finally came round though and thinks is brilliant, shes been waiting for grankids for ages, so now she has DD1, my next buba and my brothers wife is expecting at the end of Jan... lol she remarked it was like waiting for buses, none for ages then 2/3 come along!

Hows evryones weekend going?

Piffle · 05/08/2006 19:56

We have been at the in laws since yesterday afternoon. they are really happy for us and we showed them the scan picture. MIL was really sweet, kept bring me bowls of chopped melon and boiled sweets and telling me to rest, I did feel ropey for quitea lot of our time there, but the melon is my new secret weapon!
I am starting to think it all seems a bit erm REAL! 7 wks tomorrow!
Who is in nottingham I'm not that far away in Sth Lincs

TidyJane · 06/08/2006 18:07

Hi, I hope everyone is okay. Managing MS so far, but far worse this time than last time.
I had Roquefort at lunchtime today (only some of the white bits, but I think there was a bit of blue mixed in). I only had a tiny amount, but do you think I would be ill by now (I had some at about 1.30pm.)?

TidyJane · 06/08/2006 18:11

The only things that the doctor told me to avoid was Soft ice cream, soft cheese and liver. I know I'm not supposed to eat blue cheese either but why is that?
Because I didn't know I was pg for 15 weeks last time I ate everything, from fried eggs to pate, to blue cheese to alcohol (although because I went off wine and it's the only thing I drink, the maximum I had was 2 glasses of wine at Christmas time).
I was horrified when I realized, as there is a scary list of what not to eat.

DollyP · 06/08/2006 19:19

Jane, I think the bacteria which makes cheese blue can cause listeria, which would make you much more ill when pregnant than normal. Bear in mind that this is UK guidance and people in other countries still eat cheese and other naughties. I would probably still avoid them to be on the safe side, but not worry too much about what you have already had.

I am off virtually everything at the moment. Dry toast and orangina only. Felt much better yesterday night though and worried that it had all gone t*ts up. Happily (?) I felt awful again today and so think I am still pregnant. I will give up smelly cheese, liver, shellfish, rare steak and pate once I can eat again. Last time I agonized over jamon when in Spain but ate a tiny bit anyway . Booze is down to about 2 glasses a week once 14 weeks have passed. Didn't feel like any til at least then last time so hoping this one will be the same.

How is everyone feeling now? 7 weeks for me tomorrow - only another 33 to go!!

XX

novadandypowder · 07/08/2006 10:16

Hi everyone, MS has really kicked in and finding it hard to cope with that and a 10 mo dd. DH going away again tomorrow, and no friends or family nearby to help me, so it's gonna be a tough week. So far lucozade and ginger biscuits have helped today, but have found what works one day usually makes me sick the next.

Going for a dating scan today, hoorah. Will tell all later.

Piffle · 07/08/2006 11:04

Another one joins the full on MS club.
No point in fighting it, you feel beter once you have been sick it turns out.. so...
Good luck for you scan Nova
xxxxxxxxxx

dixia · 07/08/2006 14:13

I haven't fought it 6 times already today! MS that is. Every day is the same - throwing up and feeling awful until about 5 or 6 pm, then I'm alright for the evening. Glad I have the evening to feel ok, but can't help being a bit worried that ds is getting the worst of me.

Had blood tests done today. I think they take them loads of times here.

dixia · 07/08/2006 14:15

oops, sorry

novadandypowder · 07/08/2006 18:32

well, I'm a bit disappointed to find out that I'm not as far as I thought. Going by LMP dates I should be 8+4, but looking at my ov date I'm 7+2 which is pretty much what we saw today. For one horrible moment I thought she couldn't find anything there, but it was just that it was much smaller than we were expecting. Still, a flickering heartbeat, and measuring correct for the adjusted dates, so thats good. New EDD is around 26th March, so I'm still with you .

flannelettepyjamas · 07/08/2006 22:21

Fab news Nova, you must be so relieved to see it (complete with HB).
Great news too Piffle.

leogaela · 08/08/2006 09:38

Hi everyone!
weekends I just don't seem to find the time to come onto MN. This weekend we have been really busy with my cousin, her husband and dd(2 months younger than my ds) visiting. Its been really great. Lovely to see the little ones playing together, although unfortunately my ds is going through a bit of a rough stage and keeps pushing the poor little girl over ! The weather has been really bad which was also disappointing, but we braved the rain to go to a wildlife park which the little ones loved.
Poor dh seems to be suffering from my MS ! I'm really not feeling too bad at all but he has been waking up feeling bad and has been nauseaus on and off. Very strange!
My belly has also expanded almost noticeably over the weekend. I definitely look pregnant wearing a swimming costume!

Jay - good news that you got the scan sorted out and are clear about when you can have it.

In Switzerland I think we also have a lot more blood tests and monitoring throughout the pregnancy. by this time in my last pregnancy I had had 2 scans already. Haven't bothered to go to the doctor yet this time though, I'm going next week and am now getting excited about the scan!

Its not long before we all get through this yucky sickness phase now! Phew!

Piffle · 08/08/2006 14:34

Today has been a good day
Had proper dinner last night, homemade by me and dp, fried rice and clotted cream rice pudding at 10pm,
plus good 9 hours sleep.
Woke up feeling a little wobbly sicky, but not nearly as bad as yesterday - methinks rest is pivotal
DP is making a casserole today - I drew the line at dumplings

Now about this expanding waistline - trousers?
I no longer fit anything in my wardrobe.
Too early for maternity trousers...
But dp says if I'm buying new trousers, they might as well be maternity trousers.
What to do?

TidyJane · 08/08/2006 14:50

Hi everyone! Didn't get ill over blue cheese which is a relief, but won't do it again.
For the expanding waistline, it's beginning to worry me as I feel paranoid that everyone is noticing.
On the trousers front, why don't you wear them slightly looser piffle, and this way they will easily sit really low down.
What I do when I'm at work is open the button on my Jeans but keep the belt on.
You have to remember to fasten it again when you go to the toilet though!

The MS is getting me down slightly. At least I'm not being sick which is a plus.
Sorry for all those who are, I feel for you all.

Piffle · 08/08/2006 15:27

I can't wear them looser They are fitted jeans, cargo pants etc I have skinny hips so even leaving the top button undone means they slide over my hips...
I feel in limbo

TidyJane · 08/08/2006 15:33

What about buying one size bigger?
With my last pregnancy I Kept my size 8 Jeans for the whole 9 months but didn't fastnened the button (just fastened an elastic band to the button and the button hole which was brilliant but had to wear long tops.)

dixia · 08/08/2006 15:51

How about buying maternity roll-top stretchy trousers from Next online. I saw them mentioned on another thread about what you couldn't live without for pregnancy with winter babies. They are supposed to be able to grow with you, you start by having them rolled down a bit (flappy skirt bit I think) then as your bump gets bigger you can pull them up over it. Sounds like a good idea to me.

babycakes26 · 08/08/2006 16:44

Hi all
Am I too late to join your thread? I am due 31st March 07 so only just sneaking in! Been reading the past messages for the last hour so feel like I know you all a little

37 and first timer (or should that be old timer??!!) DH is 39. No DS/DH just a DD (dear dog). Had a m/c at 13 weeks last year which coincided with the sudden death of my BIL so had a bad time and didn't feel ready to try again until last couple of months and here I am PREGNANT again and a little anxious that things will be better this time around. Having all the paranoid thoughts that you have all been having for weeks - very tired and suffering with sore (O)(O) but no nausea yet so wondering if it is real....looking forward to getting to know you better...

mia84 · 08/08/2006 17:03

Hey girls.had my scan today. I'm 6+4 instead of the 10 i thought i was! I did the test in family planning 3 weeks ago, where the nurse said it went positive straight away so cant be v early! so im a bit confused. heart was beating and everything, but wouldnt 3 weeks ago been too early to test and be a strong positive? would have been 3+4, which was be 10 days after conception? my last period was in may. I know i could have ovulated at any time as i was on the pill! Im scared that it just hasnt grown?? is this possible? gota go back in 4 weeks to get a better date.

Sorry for waffling, just a bit confused.

novadandypowder · 08/08/2006 18:34

Mia - it sounds like the same as me, I got an instant positive that early, so please don't panic. Look at bd-ing dates and work out ov from that? That's what I did, and it all worked out.

mia84 · 08/08/2006 18:41

Hya nova, I was on the pill so it could have been anytime and i cant remember dates
Will get a scan in 4 weeks, so more waiting. but at least there was a tiny little heart beat

Jaysecond · 08/08/2006 19:12

welcome Babycakes and congratulations on your fist! nice to have you on board.

Mia, i tested at just over four weeks and had a strong positive straight away, so it can happen, am sure it is growing just fine, try not to worry abuot it ( easier said than done i know) if aything had seemed 'wrong' am sure they woulld have been alerted at the scan

@ size 8 jeans Tidyjane, i dont think i have EVER been a size 8.... good on you!

Piffle, bite the bullet and get some maternity trousers/clothes, its going to happen so you might as well get the ball rolling ... 'nows a time as good as ever!'

Leogaela, i am happier that i know whats got to happen, unfortunatly i still feel like i am 'drifting' along....no appointments booked or scan dates, not seen the midwife or doc etc etc but it will happen i guess in good time, good job i am a patient(ish) person!

MS not too bad today, in fact i almost forgot about it this afternoon whilst at a fiends, then came back and had to feed DD fish pie for dinner.......[sick emote]........

9+3 nearly a quarter of the way there!!!!!!
