Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Jaysecond · 27/07/2006 16:30

Dixa, so glad the sickness is under control, not sure re the period type pains, i know in the first trimester your uterus does a lot of stretching and expanding, it might be this.... if in doubt tho check it out!

Wheely, i am so sorry for you, i really hope you are managing to bare up under the circumstances, sending out hugs to you and DH x

kikidee · 27/07/2006 21:31

How awful for you Wheelybug, it's so sad when it doesn't work out. I hope to see you on another thread soon.

Welcome to Hardie and Ladybump. I have been feeling sick today but haven't actually been sick. Still tired and cross though and this heat isn't making it any easier.

Bradleymom · 27/07/2006 22:13

Hi everyone, how are you all feeling? Determined to buy one of those hammocks for this baby. I thinks its well worth it if it's as good as it sounds. Got first appointment with the Midwife tomorrow. Found out my nearest hospital is 15 miles away, told husband he has to learn to drive a.s.a.p . Well so much for the conversation, my youngest has decided to get up so got to go and put him back to bed

kittywits · 27/07/2006 22:25

Yeah Bradleymum, get that hammock and be a happy, happy mummy.
Wish I had more 'symptoms'
Oh, a question. What would you count as the first day of af, the day when you had a little bit of spotting or the next day when it seemed to start properly?

morocco · 27/07/2006 22:29

so sorry to hear that wheelybug - hope you are doing OK and will be praying for you tonight (hope you don't mind!)
we missed those thunderstorms completely - I thought my mum was just making it up - she's in E yorks and normally those clouds pass over us manchester way first. Todayi s the first day this weeek I've not had a 3 hour nap in the middle of the day (I really have been zonked since moving house) so I'm pretty pleased with myself. Done a bit of gardening and been out to a city farm where I completely forgot the signs about pregnant women not stroking the sheep meant me - oh well, they were so cute and I washed my hands for about 5 minutes afterwards so I guess it is OK.
I have the most weird cravings, which I never had with ds1 or ds2, every night it is different like Chinese food one meal, then cheese on toast, then creme brulee - that probably doesn't sound weird but normally I don't eat any of those things. Actually, writing this is making me want to puke so i better stop
hope all are well

flannelettepyjamas · 28/07/2006 00:17

So sorry to hear your news Wheelybug, take care and good luck.
I'm 5 weeks today and still feeling only a little bit sick so far. Had no MS at all with DD so I had this mad idea that the next preg would be the same.
If I'm feeling like this at 5 weeks, I'm dreading how I'll be feeling later on!
And I'm due back at work in 3 weeks.
I see the Obstetrician at 9 weeks for a scan so won't announce anything til then.
It's really hard to keep it quiet though as everyone knows I usually like my wine
I'm running out of excuses as to why I'm not drinking!

ladybump · 28/07/2006 07:14

know what you mean flanellette! got big grauduation bbq tomorrow. hula themed. there'll be cocktails and sangria and i've got to come up with a convincing story why i don't want to join in! usually i'd be first there, inventing new ones and dancing on the decking!!!any good stories anyone? was gonna say i'm on a diet and detoxing so don't want to drink but that means won't be able to eat and yummy bbq food without blowing my story either. have considered pretending to drink (ie make a vodka and coke and miss out the vodka) and then when everyone else is drunk no no-one will notice, but that'll be hard work! help me!

kittywits · 28/07/2006 08:14

Hi, any answers to my AF question from yesterday evening?!

novadandypowder · 28/07/2006 09:00

Kittywits, I think I'd say the day the spotting started, as it's still bleeding. Thats when I've always counted mine from, I always have 4 days of light spotting and then 3 days of the really heavy painful stuff. Won't be missing that for the next 8 months

Ladybump, agree that making your own 'cocktails' sounds like the best idea. I always find drunk people really annoying when I'm sober though, had to go to a few parties when I was pg with DD and people really do talk rubbish!

mia84 · 28/07/2006 09:27

Kitty im sure someone said on another thread its the day you actually start bleeding properly. im not sure though!

I went to the Royal welsh show yesterday and it nearly killed me. So hot!! my boyf doesnt seem to understand that standing too long makes me dizzy, and walking for ages makes me feel crappy!! is this normal? or am i being a whinger?? I didnt have pain, just felt blaoted and achey and crappy!!
I dreamt i had a baby last night! was walking around a supermarket with him/her!! strange dream - nothing else happened in it!

How is everyone?? Im STILL waiting for a scan date!
BTW i hate work! i would love to win the lottery and tell them to stick it!

dixia · 28/07/2006 10:04

Mia, that's all completely normal. I've not left the village in nearly 2 weeks! I can't stand up without feeling dizzy (even though i've stopped throwing up) and everything makes me feel crappy. Today I have really bad trapped wind pain in my tummy. At least I think that's what it is - it's high up on the left, away from the danger zone, almost under my rib.

I don't know, its all Moan Moan Moan with me!

wheelybug · 28/07/2006 11:26

Hi All

Quick update - Its definitely over for me this time. We're v. sad but trying to be positive. I'll put more details on my other thread but don't want to depress a happy thread !

Take good care all of you - I don't want to read of any of the rest of you falling by the wayside and that's an order ! Will be keeping an eye on you all and look forward to reading your happy news in a few months time. Thanks for all your thoughts, wishes and prayers.

mia84 · 28/07/2006 11:29

Im sorry wheelybug
Im sure you'll be on an antenatal thread very soon!!
big kisses xxxx

Im keeping my fingers FIRMLY crossed for my scan. Not sure how confident i am TBH.

wheelybug · 28/07/2006 11:34

thanks mia. Can't quite think about trying again at the mo but sure it will come in time !

We did manage a laugh when the doctor told us to avoid sex in the next week or so .

dixia · 28/07/2006 11:39

So sorry Wheelybug .

Take care of yourself.

Piffle · 28/07/2006 12:56

Wheely I am so sorry
Really hope you get your turn again soon honey, take it easy xxx

I'm queasy today, managing to keep it at bay by eating little and often
So far today
rice krispies
muesli
banana on toast
bagel and cream cheese
I am eating apples as well.
TMI alert*
Anyone got serious slowdown on the bowel front? I'm not constipated but sluggish. Very weird for me. Am quaffing prune juice and eating lots of salad and veg to try combat it.
Preggie Pops are really useful, but am yet to be convinced by the lavender one?
Got my epu scan date next Thursday 3.15pm [nervous]

dixia · 28/07/2006 13:28

The lavender one made me puke! lol.

My bowel is doing a kind of bunny hopping thing. Nothing then, everything kind of lurches without much warning! Sorry, too much info?

Jaysecond · 28/07/2006 15:22

Thinking of you Wheely [hugs]

Dixa, my bowels are doing the same, one day, one thing, the next day another..... too much gurgling going on in there for my liking!!!

Well have had a really lathargic day, have done very little, started packing up my DD room, only managed two boxes before i felt completely knackered, sick, dizzy and light headed, its a nightmare isnt it. Also something i have noticed, i get out of breath so much more now, i climb the stairs and feel like i need an oxygen mask when i get to the top, its terrible!
off for a quick nap while DD is napping, hope everyone is ok xx

Piffle · 28/07/2006 16:55

Yes another just awoken from a nap
I am so fortunate having a dd who is 4 in october who still needs 2 hrs or more nap in the day...
Dp home tonight YAY he works away during the week
My mum here tonight, that'll be interesting, her fave comments are" ohh with your history I don't fancy your chances of carrying it to term do you"?
WTF?
And my brother is coming tomorrow so think a nap tomorrow is a mere dream...
Dp now has 2 wks off so if anything nasty like severe m/s starts up I have help at hand...

dixia · 28/07/2006 17:29

Piffle, my ds is 4 in October too. Unfortunately, he doesn't need a sleep mid-day. In fact, when he does kip in the day I can't wake him up and its a nightmare at bedtime. Have you told your family that you are pg yet?

madhide · 28/07/2006 18:56

Hi All

I would like to join the thread!

Me: 30
DH:34
DD: 2

Due Date 16th March

Also want to ask how quickly you got a scan apointment through? I saw the DR last Thursday and we want to go on Holiday on the 9th Sep but reckon this will be the week I will be scanned want to hold off booking anything til date comes through but worried it might be a while?

kittywits · 28/07/2006 19:03

Hi madhide, I reckon it all depends how pushy and hysterical you are. It works everytime for me

kittywits · 28/07/2006 19:06

My 2 year old dd stopped sleeping during the day ages ago. Blooming pain as she gets to be a real ratbag, but like yours Dixia, if she sleeps then she won't go to bed later

madhide · 28/07/2006 19:23

hi kittywits how do you get pushy?

Thought I had to wait for app in post?

Saying that wasn't sure about the doctor as he was a locum and wasn't sure how to operate the computer!

kittywits · 28/07/2006 19:34

I would say to them that you are worried about miscarriage, you could make up some tales about cramps etc. If the Dr still resists just say you insist on being given one and stick to your guns. Crying works well! ( God I sound like a right gobby so and so !!) Is it an early scan you want or is this the 12 week one? You could just say that you're not available for that specific week and ask for one before or after.
