Welcome bradleysmum and any person I have missed out over the weekend who has joined!
yep the more the merrier!!!

I, m sure you're all right, but have had so many posses since having dd I find it hard to relax. With only one tube also trying again would be so hard!
But I shall rejoice in still feeling normal, focus fully on planning the rearranging of bedrooms for 9 mths time!
I'm fine again today, the odd whiff of nausea but easily fixed with tic tacs or rice krispies or toast and a banana...

leogaela · 24/07/2006 12:09

hi all!

Nova - its me that said I have cold. It really was a cold but is lingering for a long time, so maybe the cold has gone and its an early pregnancy symptom. Rather a stuffy nose than sickness - I'm feeling queasy sometimes and have a stange appetite but nothing compared to some of you poor people!

double buggies - we bought a 2 seater cycling trailer htis summer (Chariot Cougar 2) and will buy the bits to make it a double buggy. I would prefer to carry the little one and put ds in the single buggy though. We shall see, early days yet. I have been thinking about how and where to sleep the 2 of them though.

Evenhope - I've got my fingers crossed for you too! And everyone else that's worrying. Strangely I'm feeling really cool about the whole thing at the moment (except the odd wave of panic of how the hell we will cope with 2 children when we already find one so difficult)!

Raw meats I think is to do with toxoplasmosis and other risks of food poisoning. If the meat is european and fresh I don't think you have to worry too much about it (or if you are immune already).
Mayonnaise is because of the raw eggs. Also wouln't worry about eating helmans, it has a shelflife of about 10 years and probably has preservatives in it or has been treated. just make sure its kept in the fridge.

Dixia - when I was pregnant with ds my tummy also went really hard, I started taking magnesium supplement which really helped.

.. yep a lot to catch up on when you are off line for a few days!

kittywits · 24/07/2006 12:58

Hello all of you check this wonderful crib out
It is SO brilliant. Have used it for no. 5 and I wish to God the others had had this too. You can get them on ebay for a fraction of the cost. Never had a bad night with this and she sleeps endlessly duiring the day.!!
I feel I need to share this with you! Any questions, fire away!

wheelybug · 24/07/2006 16:47

Hi all - was away over weekend so lots to catch up on here ! Hello to the people who have joined us over the weekend....

I feel like I've had a little bit of every symptom at the mo - am 6 + 4 and have had a bit of sickness, nausea, sore boobs, lightheadedness, tredness - thankfully none of these too badly but today I have a stinking headache. Don't really like to take anything durng pregnancy but have had to resort to paracetemol as it was so bad.

Am stressing/worrying too - every little twinge I think s a problem - had backache over the w eekend and was convinced it was something sinister but think it was due to cycling (in a thunder storm) on saturday and standng all day at a party yesterday !!

My waist has definitely gone - am in at how soon but I made a real effort to lose all the weight I'd put on sttng around and eating cake after dd was born and now I'm growing out of clothes again...

dixia · 24/07/2006 16:50

Afternoon all, the full stop on this computer has packed up, so sorry about crappy punctuation

Welcome Bradleymom, nice to have you with us

Its quater to six pm here and I've just got out of bed for the first time today, other than to run to the toilet Sickness is bad

I got my preggie pops today and had one immediately It did relieve the symptoms, I felt much better, but only for about 20mins

I've got a feeling that nothing much will help sickness like this except maybe strong anti-sickness drugs I'll bite the bullet and try to get to the doctors tomorrow

DP has also booked me in with the acupuncturist This seemed to help a little last time (had HG last time too), and this one does acupressure and massage too, so I'm hopeful for that Only problem is that she is 1hr away, so it will be a bit of a trek, esp if I have to go regularly, and I can't drive myself at the moment as I've barely eaten in a week and keep going dizzy

Had half a cereal bar about an hour ago, and may try some green soupy stuff (Hmmm, nice) later

At least I can keep down some water, that should be enough to keep me out of hospital I think

Right, enough from the sickbed, hope you are all having good days XXX

1973magpie · 24/07/2006 17:03

Afternoon All, sorry to hear you are still feeling so rough dixia .

Wheelybug I am similar to you at the moment symptom wise. I have mild nausea, mild achey boobs, mild dizziness (bad if I move quickly though) and still feel absolutely exhausted .

I am really hoping that this tredness eases off soon, I have spent the majority of the weekend in bed and I still feel shattered. I am really struggling with working full-time, I didn't realise how hard it would be - it's 7 years since I was last pg, and I only worked part-time that time...maybe I'm just getting on

Piffle · 24/07/2006 18:04

Dixia I am so sorry I can well remember how bad it is, I had it exactly as you describe with dd, and live in fear that it might happena again.
Have you got seabands? They did help alleviate it a little with me last time?
I cna grab anything from here you need and send it over with the cd asap?

generaldogsbody1 · 24/07/2006 22:09

kittywits · 24/07/2006 22:41

Hello GDB1, welcome to the club, how are you feeling?

generaldogsbody1 · 24/07/2006 22:56

I'm ok thanks. Had a scare on friday night. I had severe abdo pain on one side and was admitted to hospital with a suspected eptopic, i knew it was too early for that though. I have a urine infection. all the preg tests were coming up neg but things are back on track again. My bloods show my hcg levels are rising and hpts have all been bfp. I'm in shock though, had been to gp not long after lmp for the pill, its now in the bin lol. only planned on two

kittywits · 24/07/2006 23:12

You must be the last one in the March group now.

generaldogsbody1 · 24/07/2006 23:18

i think so however, i may well end up in april. I'm not entierly (sp) sure of my dates lol

Bradleymom · 24/07/2006 23:18

Evening everyone. Not feeling too bad now, had a bad afternoon, felt sick, tired, weak as water, but there you go. Kittywits, I have checked out the crib on the net and it sounds fantastic . My son suffered terrible with reflux, he was sick all the time, this sounds perfect. Don't think I'll buy a second hand one though, bit weary about second hand cots. The only query is it looks as though the baby could slide down to the bottom. (Maybe its just me being silly)

kittywits · 24/07/2006 23:22

No Bm, no sliding 'cos it's angled so the head and end bend up slightly and the babe lies in the middle. It WILL save your sanity. I don't even know when mine has woken up because she just lies there bouncing up and down! I have to go and check!

Bradleymom · 24/07/2006 23:23

Hi GDB1, you sound about as shocked as I was. I only planned on 2 and was definetly not planning on baby number 4 (excited about it now though). Told the other half he isn't coming anywhere near me afterwards till he's been for the snip, and I mean it

Bradleymom · 24/07/2006 23:25

Thanx. Im definately going to get one. I wanted a swinging crib, but didn't really want to shell out stupid money for the sake of a few weeks. This looks like a life saver

Piffle · 25/07/2006 07:54

The thing I worry about cribs is that when you need to move them to a cot when they get bigger, then they get upset as they miss their nice crib/hammock....?

kittywits · 25/07/2006 08:24

Yes Piffle. My dd3 is still in hers. She's 7 months and rather rotund to say the least! She still fits, have tried the cot , but she's having non of it. I think though the eventual changeover will give us a brief period of cross patch baby, but that is a TINY price to pay compared with the months of me and her enjoying blissful, uninterupted sleep for very long periods, both day and night!!!

Jaysecond · 25/07/2006 08:32

morning all, welcome to GDB. I have heard a lot about these swinging cribs Kitty, i didnt hear anything the first time round, now it seems that eeryone is using them, i think they look great. I think that piffle could hae a point, although i take on board what you say about it being a tiny price to pay. I like the idea that they are mobile and you can move them round. I moved DD1 to her own room AND big cotbed, at 6 weeks old, some might frown on this but it was the best thing for us... so all i would have to do was move the cot into the nursery... hmmm might look into it a bit more! How is everyone feeling today, i managed to stave off MS with a bowl of rice krispies.... its a horrid circle as i sooooo didnt want to eat anything, but knew that i should. Seems that cereal, any one, is my main staple diet at the mo, i feel a bit guilty as i am not eating as much fruit and veg as i should be, anyone else in the same boat?

novadandypowder · 25/07/2006 09:19

Hi Jay and everyone else. Have been feeling a little rough around the edges, but not sure how much of that is to do with not getting enough sleep. Could really do with getting into bed on friday and not getting up til monday! DH goes away for work next monday so I'll be on my own with DD, but at least I can crawl into bed when she does at 7pm!

Hope everyone else is managing to hang in there, it's such a limbo time of pg.

mia84 · 25/07/2006 09:33

Hey girls. Hope your all doing ok!
HAd my first appointment with the midwife. Shes put urgent on my notes so hopefully i'll get an early scan. She was very nice.i told her i dont feel sick anymore, but im actually starting to feel queasy again now. I think a lot of it is in my head. My boobs have never been sore, and im a 34F to start with so i dont know if theyve grown Im sooo paranoid! She thinks im due about the first of march, but i think its a bit later than that.
I feel so tired and dopey today. Like im doing everything in slow motion! Im sleeping for a few hours in the evening, then wide awake from about 10pm. And waking up early!! Not like me at all.
Working from 8 unitl 5 everyday is killing me, but at least it takes my mind off worrying!

Kitty - i have been looking at those hammocks. I'd love one. Hopefully, i will be able get one. fingers crossed this one sticks!!!

There loads of us now!! Fab!

Jaysecond · 25/07/2006 09:40

hey Nova, and i thought i was the only one that looked forward to DH working away, just so i cuold get my head down at 7 when DD goes!!!!

Mia, so glad that you have seen the MW, hope it has helped a little in settleing your nerves! Am sure this one will 'stick' - as you so elequently put it!

Not sure how you guys can work those hours, i mean its hard enough having a 6 month old to entertain, but at least i dont have to get dressed and look presentable to do it.....!

mia84 · 25/07/2006 09:45

Jays - i get dressed, but im not too sure i look presentable I feel uncomfortable in my chair at the moment, so i can only imagine how horrid it will be for me sat here in the future
I'm wandering to the water machine evry 10 mins, in between loo breaks

flanelettepyjamas · 25/07/2006 10:53

Hi, can I join please??
I've just snuck into the March thread with an EDD of 30th March.
I've added my stats.
Got a BFP last Friday as I was heading off on a wine-tasting weekend (leaving DD behind for the first time)
Starting to feel a bit sick which has come as a shock as I swanned through my last pregnancy with no horrid symptoms at all.
All very exciting.

Jaysecond · 25/07/2006 11:18

hiya flanelette, curse you can join! nice to have another one on board, i havnt done a tally up but theres LOOOOOOADS of us here now!
Hows Brisbane? cold at the mo? I wonder if you did the 'proper' winetasting and spat out, rather than the 'fun' wine tasting and swallow!!! ooooer that sounds a bit rude heheheh
DD is rolling round on her mat at the mo, with loads of toys round her, so how come she manages to seek out the smallest bit of paper thats half hidden under the edge of the mat and try and eat it, then becoming the winge baby from hell when i remove it from her!!!
