I don't know how you full time workers do it, I only work two afternoons a week and I really didn't want to go in today. Feel like I could just drop and fall asleep wherever I am. One of the other volunteers threw me though - I was sat at my desk and he popped his head round to say hello and asked if I was expecting a little one! I almost fell off my chair, I mean I know my waist has thickened but I was sat behind a desk, how could he tell!!! spooky.

Forgot to say to whoever had a cold, I thought I had a cold in early pg too, but it turns out a stuffy nose is an early pg symptom.

Got my preggy pops today, very quick service from Motherbliss, only ordered them a couple of days ago. Tried one of the drops and they taste quite nice.

I think I have my first craving - eggy bread

Anyone thought of double buggies yet (sorry am buggy junky)

kikidee · 22/07/2006 05:11

Morning all. Pregnancy related insomnia anyone? I get woken up in the early hours and can't get back to sleep.

I've gone off chocolate too Piffle and I'm obsessed with savoury things, particularly fish.

kittywits · 22/07/2006 07:08

I think I've had pregnancy related insomnia for the past 7 years!

dixia · 22/07/2006 10:45

I'm enjoying lettuce at the moment! Finding it hard to stomach very much at all - meat, fish, dairy, anything heavy - all out. But seriously, I'm craving rocket and spinich. How boring is that?

DollyP · 22/07/2006 11:49

I am having trouble getting back to sleep too, even though I am knackered! No food cravings as yet, but am just waiting to go off everything! Can anyone remind me why you're not supposed to eat deli meats. Is stuff already packaged in the cold cabinets ok?

Dixia, your cravings are so healthy and good for you - bet you'll grow a brainy baby! Last time i could only keep down toast and marmalade at the beginning, so poor DD doesn't stand a chance! The idea of tictacs is great, Vic less so. Might give the game away if I am sniffing Vic on a hot day. got to go to a barbecue tomorrow and disguise the fact I am not drinking, so can't have anything obviously pregnancy related in tow....

Recommend sea bands for the sickness. And wine gums for when you're out and about.

Anyone got any nice plans for today and tomorrow?

xxxx

evenhope · 22/07/2006 12:54

I hesitate to join a thread as this is my 3rd pg in one year. I was on the March 2006 boards and again on the Oct 2006. Both resulted in missed m/c and ERPC, first at 10-11 weeks and then at 7-8 weeks. Like someone on another thread said I don't think of it as expecting a baby. More like I am currently pg. Fingers crossed but not too hopeful. Currently 5+3 so a long way to go.

dixia · 22/07/2006 15:15

Welcome Evenhope . Sorry to hear about your previous losses, hopefully it will be third time lucky for you . Its worth joining the thread, I think, for the support network.

DollyP, don't know about deli meats, sorry. While we are on the whole food tip, can someone tell me if I'm supposed to avoid all mayonnaise? Does the normal Hellmans variety pose a problem - sorry a bit clueless.

We are doing something nice this weekend actually! It is FERIA in our village this weekend. In Spain each village, town and city has its own summer festival, where everyone parties. There are fireworks at 3am, a foam party at 5pm, free piella tomorrow lunchime, a bouncy castle, dodgems and lots of beer (well v. weak shandy for me!). Its only a small village, but they sure know how to party!

DollyP, is your talk name a tribute to the large-breasted country singer or is that an abbrev of your real name?

kikidee · 22/07/2006 18:31

Welcome Evenhope. Dixia, you can have Hellman's mayonnaise. We are supposed to be careful with mayo as it contains raw eggs. So homemade mayo is to be avoided but Hellman's is OK and I think (someone correct me if I'm wrong) it's because the eggs for commercial production are pasteurised and so the fact that they are uncooked is not a problem.

I was at Nick Jr Jump Up this morning with DS, a birthday party this afternoon and just about to go out for dinner with DH.

Piffle · 22/07/2006 19:22

hiya everyone, got dp home (rare!!!) so thought I'd grab a quick post.
Yes to insomnia, think it could be excitment, but not at 3.30am!!! Finding it very hard to get a good nights sleep, dd and I napped together this afternoon, was lovely unti she started snoring!
Tic tacs are doing the job!
Queasy in the afternoons seems to be the order. Am full of beans in the morning, long may that last but I fear NOT!!!
Welcome Evenhope lets hope it is 3rd time lucky, hope to see you with us and that we ALL make it to the end game!
Got to go, dinner ready!!!

DollyP · 22/07/2006 19:55

U can definitely have Hellmans .

Dixia, my name is indeed a tribute to the wonderful Dolly, partly because she's fab but mainly because I have the MOST enormous norks. Non pregnant - 34H. Pregnant - off the Richter scale! All of me looks fat at the moment, though, so norkage is balancedout a bit.

Feria sounds lovely. Where in Spain are you? We went to the pub this afternoon and I had 2 very weak shandies. They were so pathetic on the beer I got charged for 2 lemonades!

Feeling very moody, very hot and a little apprehensive today. Worried about it going wrong, esp as I have backache again. Trying to take each day as it comes. evenhope, will keep everything crossed for a happy outcome for you as well. Welcome !

Got to go and flop on the sofa. DH making dinner and DD talking to herslef in the cot so a bit of time to rest. See you in the morning XX

DollyP · 22/07/2006 22:01

Piffle, can I ask you please where you got your morning well CD from? Have been looking online and they are 16-20 quid. Where did you get yours for a tenner?

Not sick yet, but fully expecting it any day now.....

kittywits · 23/07/2006 09:05

hello everyone. I don't really feel pregnant. I know this is baby 6 and I should know and all that, but I can't remember when the symptoms started with the other ones. I guess they were all different .
Say I'm about 5 weeks now. I have sore boobs sometimes, horrible tiredness and a swollen tum, but no sickness. Infact a button's just burst on my trousers as I'm sitting here! When did all of you start to feel your symptoms properly?
I can't help worrying that this one's a no go because I don't really feel anything much.

Piffle · 23/07/2006 11:19

I'm 5w + 2 and have sod all symptoms, sometimes queasy, not too tired, def thickened waistline though and am normally slim so it has really put pressure on my wardrobe! My boobs are not too bad at all... yet... I know O ov late so I may be not as fr along as I think, although had very early BFP...
I know from dd that m/s kicked in fully at 6 -7 wks as did the really bad tiredness.
I got my morningwell cd off Ebay
It needs to be listened to through headphones - I could send it to you first and then you could record it onto pc/mp3 player ( if you have one) then send to dixia?
No point all of us paying loads for a copy each if we can share one!

novadandypowder · 23/07/2006 15:03

I'm about 6wks and keep thinking I don't have any symptoms, but I have tiredness, thickened waist, slightly larger boobs, always hungry but not really wanting anything, and a stuffy nose. I think I see sickness as being 'the' symptom to have - all the way through my last pg people kept saying that sickness was good because it was a sign of a sticky baby, which isn't very reassuring for those without it! Last time I felt fine until 7wks though when the sickness just came out of the blue, so I'm not counting my chickens just yet.

dixia · 23/07/2006 15:15

I am 6+3 weeks and MS kicked in a week ago. Before that, was quite tired and a bit grumpy, but that could be quite normal. But my first main symptom was that my flabby tummy went rock hard. It still is, although last time it sponged up a bit as time went on!

kittywits · 23/07/2006 15:37

Cd sounds good Piffle, what's it about and how do I go about giving you my address? V. sweet of you to be so considerate

lucielu · 23/07/2006 17:01

Hi Kittywits,
I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and have been feeling a bit of a fraud as only really felt slightly queezy from about 6 and a half weeks. waist definatly thickened, but this is the third so have non existant stomach muscles now!!I'm busting out of my clothes and they were loose before and i have actually lost 5lb since becoming preggers! My knockers are a bit bigger but not as tender as my other two pregnancies. But I tell you what the tiredness has kicked in today I can hardly drag myself off the sofa! I think we all think the same though, until we have our 12 week scans and alls ok we are in a sort of doubtful limbo.I bet your symptoms will kick in soon, roll on 12 weeks!

kittywits · 23/07/2006 18:35

Thanks for that lucielu, it's so hard this waiting around, isn't it?

Piffle · 23/07/2006 20:35

I'm sending the cd to Dixia first as she is already throwing up loads kittywits, maybe once she is done with it she can send it through to you?
Otherwise you should be able to pick one up quite easily/cheaply off ebay

Well made it through another day, wish wish wish I could relax about this... I have an early scan in a little over a week am so expecting to be told there is nothing there...
Dp thinks I'm loony I swear.

Jaysecond · 23/07/2006 21:22

wow i go away for two days and we grow some more in numbers! Welcome lucielu, Dollyp, evenhope and hi to everyone else, hope you all had good weekends. he weeks are flying by already, i am 7 weeks today, MS is very eratic at the moment, i dont seem to get it everyday, seems to be every other day. It decided to rear its head yesterday as we were driving to Glatonbury for a wedding... it was horrendous, DH was saying ' shall i pull over for you?' i was sayig ' nooooo euuuuuuuuuuu we have to get there euuuuuuuuuuuu' I wasnt actually sick but boy did i have to redo my makeup, never knew my eyes could water so much.. anyway am sure you are all suffering enough so i wont go on! All other symptons are coming and going, tiredness, stuffy nose, dry mouth, etc, still no sore boobs though, but then every pregnancy is different i guess!
Other than those having early scans, when is everyones 12 wk scan? As i am moving in three weeks i cant sort anything out till i register with my new doctor, and i cant do that till i get there ( i checked) so i dont even have anything in place, which is poo, as looking forward to the first scan kinda keeps you going!
Going for ice cream now...yummmm!

kittywits · 23/07/2006 21:22

Piffle, I understand COMPLETELY what you are going through. I know the terror you are feeling. Constantly being aware of how preg you are or are not feeling every bl**dy second of the day. I have had 6 mc all in all. Although I am blessed with 5 children.
My last preg was successful, but at the very beginning when I went to see the Dr about an early scan she clearly thought I was a lunatic. Her attitude was that knowing wasn't going to change anything. Stupid woman. She couldn't understand that I needed to know.
I'm not sure if I'm going to book one this time or not.
Last time I can still so clearly remember lying on the bed in the ultrasound room, looking at the ceiling, not daring to look at the screen . There was an awful silence and my heart was beating so loudly that I thought it would burst through my chest. Then when they found an embryo with a heart beat I just wept. Still, it didn't stop me worrying!! I only started to calm down once I could feel regular movements and could be reassured on a daily basis.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you xxxxx

kittywits · 23/07/2006 21:28

Just checked throught he stats Piffle and you and I are due on the same day! Saying that I'm always about 3 weeks late!

DollyP · 23/07/2006 21:32

Aw Piffle honey, try not to worry too much . Much easier said than done of course, but so far it looks as if everything is going according to plan. I lay in bed this am worrying that I was feeling sick because I was making myself feel sick rather than because of the hormones! Clearly am already bonkers!

I spent most of my first pregnancy worrying about everything and remember saying to my sister that I couldnt wait for DD to arrive as then I could stop worrying ! Wrong! I think that it is all part and parcel of the pregnanxy set up. every time I go to the loo, I am checking for signs of spotting etc. I know what you mean about worrying there is nothing there, but try to stay strong - it's not long to the scan when, fingers crossed, you will see DB's wee heart beating away.

Take care my love and hang on in there XX

Bradleymom · 24/07/2006 08:35

Hello everyone, im new to this sight. I have baby number 4 on the way, and at only 6 weeks, I am totally exhausted . 3 other children driving me mad and all I want to do is sit on the sofa and do nothing. Is it me or does anyone elso out there feel hungry all the time, but feel sick and doesn't want to eat, but gets to the point where if they don't eat something they will throw up, and find themselves reaching for the nearest packet of biscuits. I have only just moved into this area aswell so haven't been to the docs yet and I don't know anybody so stuck in the house most of the time. Feeling sorry for myself alot of the time, (putting this all down to the hormones though) .

Jaysecond · 24/07/2006 09:16

Hi Bradleymom, and welcome, the more the merrier her i say! There is also another thread up, where you can post your stats, i would add in the link but each time i have tried already it has failed, am sure someone else will add it if you cant find it!

I am currently 7 +1 and feel the same as you, with MS and not wanting to eat etc, in fact i think most of us are feeling the same way at the mo, so youre not on your own, as for being new to the area, i was in your shoes a yr ago when i moved and was pregnant with my first, i joined the local NCT group and soon made lots of friends. It is hard to start of with becasue you dont feel like doing anything but it will get easier am sure, where abouts have you moved to?
Saying all that i am due to move again! but this time back to Nottingham where my family are, so i shouldnt find it too hard.

At tleast in the mean time you can chat on here, and the good thing about that, you dont even have to get dressed and noone would know!! heheheh
