Jaysecond · 20/07/2006 09:35

Cross posts there stretchmarks, i had a 4D scan last time, it was truely amazing. Wehad some lovely pictures and a 15 minute DVD of her moving about. It was called a bonding scan and they totally focused on just looking at buba and trying to get some great pictures, to actually see her moving inside was awesome, i didnt realise how much she moved and i didnt feel it!!!! I def want another one this time round, well it would be unfair to treat them different!!

BTW she looked just like her scan picture!

Jaysecond · 20/07/2006 09:38

Piffle · 20/07/2006 11:28

I'm feeling great...
I hope everything is ok....
Welcome Mia

novadandypowder · 20/07/2006 11:31

stretchmarks - I had 4d scan too, and it was just what I needed. I'd been having a really shitty pregnancy, but seeing the little bubba at 28wks made it all ok again. We were really lucky to have her in a perfect position to see, another Nov lady wasn't so lucky and her baby hid the entire time.

Went to drs today and have a referral for a dating scan, I need to book it but it should be 7/8th August (when I should be 8wks-ish). She also said that if all looked ok on the scan I should make my booking in appt at the hospital for the same day. I had DD at the Portland and will be doing the same again this time.

mia84 · 20/07/2006 14:13

Is lower backache always a bad sign? i had this last time It's not REALLY bad just a sort of constant drone

kittywits · 20/07/2006 14:39

hello mia, I think lower backache is a typical early preg symptom. I think that early preg and premenstral symptoms are very similar, which is kind of unnerving.
My lower back has been achey, my tummy swollen and I have a crippling tiredness and driving hunger, boobs are sore too. Are you worried about something?

mia84 · 20/07/2006 14:45

Hey kitty
Just generally worrying TBH. I'm petrified of losing this one too. I will start being more positive though. its just that i read that lower backache was a symptom of mc, and i had it last time.

I'll stop being silly now

kittywits · 20/07/2006 15:15

Oh Mia, it's not about being silly!! You always worry if you've had previous miscarriages, it's only normal. But that bloated pre men feeling is so typical of early pregnancy.
I've had 6 ms all in all, between all the children and each time it is hard to try for another baby because of all the worry involved. You could always ask your GP to refer you for an early scan. There are so many women who have suffered in this way, it's very common. Keep your chin up!

Piffle · 20/07/2006 16:52

Serves me right for bleating abut no symptoms
Now am feeling dead nauseous...
ugh

Jaysecond · 20/07/2006 20:30

join the club piffle!!! dont know whether to comiserate (sp) or celebrate for you ! I went out today for some bits and bobs, mainly to get ginger 'stuff' got home, unpacked, totally forgot about ginger 'stuff' preggie brain strikes again....

Mia try not to worry babe, i know it hard and tough and every ailment will now be baby related, which will leave you stressed out and worried, which isnt going to be good for you or baby. Whilst i havnt had MC i still worry that i wont get passed the first 8 weeks let alone 12... but like my DH says, everything happens for a reason, and even though it seems like it would be the end of the world, you have to live your life to the fullest.... anyway, enough of that, no need for sermons from me, i am supposed to be 'geeing' you up! lets just take each day as it comes and be happy

Anyway, DH back from Holland now, just had a thin and crispy pizza, well its carbs isnt it, and thats what your sup to eat of an eve.....lol well thats what i say. Have a horrid feelling that i will be seeing it again sometime soon!! [yeuk emote]!

1973magpie · 20/07/2006 20:46

Hi Everyone and welcome newbies, sorry to hear most of you are feeling rough now. I still feel overwhelmingly tired (no matter how much sleep I get), boobs sore, hungry all the time, but fingers crossed no sickness yet.

I was sick every day (and night) last time with dd, I used to wake up in the middle of the night just to be sick, and I was still being sick when I went into labour !!

Like others have said, I found resting as much as possible, eating little and often, and eating a biscuit/toast before I got out of bed helped.

This time I am eating lots of tic tacs and apples (not at the same time though!) and drinking plenty of room temperature water together with eating little and often is helping keep the nausea at bay .

I have had lots of niggly aches and pains too mia, I think that your awareness is heightened when you are pg and you worry about everything. I'm just trying to relax and go with the flow, I know everyone says that but really I think it is all we can do, what will be will be .

wheelybug · 20/07/2006 21:06

Hi All.

Mia - I think, as the others have said, its only natural to worry. I worry endlessly too without any previous history...

Sorry you're feeling rough Piffle but look on the bright side - at least its proof somethings going on

I told my parents today ! They were surprised but very happy. We will tell MIL at the weekend as we are there but no one else for a while.

kittywits · 20/07/2006 21:26

I can't stop eating today. It feels like my tum is expanding already!

themum · 20/07/2006 21:37

I have the lower back thing. And the immense tiredness. Tiredness not always/usually at night unfortunately.

Hacked off today. Just told my mum about potential third grandchild and her comment was "Oh, congratulations... I guess". Two kids is absolutely fantastic, but 3 = insane. Apparently.

kittywits · 20/07/2006 21:41

Well Th mum, at some point I am going to have to break it to my mum that no. 6 is on the way and she is going to go ape, I know she is!!!!!

DollyP · 20/07/2006 22:07

May I join you ladies please?

got my BFP this afternoon and am still in shock! Am still BF DD and had a blood test last month which showed I wasn't ovulating. GP said to re do blood test next month and if still no ovulation, quit BF - if still none, Clomid! However, my ageing body somehow cranked up on its own! DD seems less than keen on BF over the last couple of days though.....

Haven't told DH yet - he was on deadline when I did the test and then is out on the beers, so the news is secret til tomorrow.

Stats

Me 36
DH 38
DD 15 months
EDD 26th March (I think)

Excited and scared at the same time!
