awww spook, so sorry babe, i cant imagine what your going through, although you sound more 'positive' than i am sure i would be.
My thoughts are with you, as i am sure all the thoughts of the girls on here are. Good luck forthe future babes (((hugs)))

Kittywits wow you are one brave lady!!!! congratulations on your news, will keep my fingers crossed that it works out for you. My youngest is also 6 months, but she is also my only one!! How on earth do you manage!!!!??? must have the patience of a saint either that or just bonkers!!!

just had my nap alongside LO , think i feel worse now than i did before, how come LO's can be full of the joys of spring when they wake up, when all i feel is heavy 'empty' and stil knackered!!

kittywits · 19/07/2006 10:32

Thanks JS, yes I am insane and petrified!

leogaela · 19/07/2006 10:34

Spook !

Hello Kittywits - you have 5 children already ! Well I hope you will be giving us less experienced mums some support ! I have 5 siblings , big families are great (although not planning one myself!)! Good luck!

The ms is still not bad here but I have a stinking cold so I'm feeling terrible! Its hot here but I love it !

Someone asked if I will have the baby in Switzerland - yes definitely. DS was born here, DH is Swiss (still haven't got DS british citizenship yet !). The health system and hospitals here are fantastic.

As for the sex of the baby - last time I had an amnio so the doctor knew 100% but I didn't want to know. I had an emergency CS and the surprise of finding out we had a boy added to the positive end of not such a pleasant birth experience.

Its early to talk about it yet, but any others thinking about VBAC or second CS? Its something i can't help thinking (worrying) about!

1973magpie · 19/07/2006 10:58

Sorry to hear that Spooks , take care of yourself

Welcome kittywits, as others have said, with all your previous experience you'll be giving us advice and support!

Am starting to feel a bit sicky today (am 5 weeks tomorrow, so I guess it's par for the course!), just constantly eating fruit to try and ward it off!

Quite glad to be in work today as it is so so hot, at least we have air-con in the office, even if it's not that efficient

kittywits · 19/07/2006 10:58

If it helps my first 2 were sections and the last three natural births, very last one at home which was so wonderful.
This time it's not so much the thought of another babe that scares me, it's another pregnancy. All my others were fine, but I've quite happily used wine and beer as destressers at the end of the day. Now, I'll have to find another way!

dixia · 19/07/2006 11:00

Spook, I'm so sorry . I really hope you will be on another antenatal thread soon.

MS is horrific. Its taking all my concentration not to throw up, desperate not to get into that cycle. Luckily DP is at home now for the summer (thank god) and can look after DS. the thought of having 5 others to look after makes me want to run to the toilet! Welcome Kittywits - you don't suffer from MS do you? I could really do with some advice about how to juggle my own sickness and my child. I feel alright when I'm lying down, but when I sit up, things go wrong. The worst thing is thinking that I'm only 6 weeks (tomorrow) and I have much more of this to come . DP is already doing everything, how do others deal with the guilt?

I had CS before, but am hoping for a VBAC this time. Bit worried though as in Spain, there seems to be a lot more intervention, more CSs and I don't know whether they will encourage a VB. Was going to go to the doc this am to start the ball rolling, but couldn't make it out of bed. I'll have to wait until next week now.

Anyway, ignore my sickness rantings. I'm sure you'll all get really fed up of me . Anyone else suffering badly?

kittywits · 19/07/2006 11:10

never very badly dixa, no, just feel yuk. I find I get awful stomach cramps and I just HAVe to eat. That helps to reduce sickness in me.

wheelybug · 19/07/2006 13:10

oh Spook - I am so sorry to hear that. Best of luck for the future and keep us posted.

Welcome kittywits - 6 wow !

Leo - I too am in a quandry already about c-s/VBAC. I think I will wait to see if I have the same issues with this one as I did with dd (IUGR so early failed induction). If same problems I guess I will have a c-s when the baby stops growing. Otherwise, I would like to try VBAC but only if I can persuade them not to continuously monitor me as I'd like to be active (maybe labour, but not give birth in, a pool)....

lucielu · 19/07/2006 14:43

Hi everyone,
Can I join too? Have scanned through your posts, phew took some reading!!! I'm due 5th March, 3 days before my birthday! What a present! this is my 3rd babe, I have 2 girlies aged 7 and 4, bit of a gap! Maybe it'll be a boy this time? Who knows.
I'm feeling a right bloater already, must be those really lax stomach muscles! Put 3 stone on with the first 4 with the second determined not to put on 5 this time!! I'm only 5' 1" so do look a bit odd when heavily prg! oddly enough I have big babes too 9lb 8 and 8lb 10! Hopefully if i don't pig out so much this one might be a bit more in proportion with me!

Piffle · 19/07/2006 14:47

I'm still worried about no symptoms
Well relieved I have none but worried I have none IYGWIM

Jaysecond · 19/07/2006 15:47

i am melting.............

novadandypowder · 19/07/2006 16:22

piffle, I'm with you - actually want the sickness to start, although I'm dreading it...

Jaysecond · 19/07/2006 17:00

awww piffle and nova, dont worry about lack of symptoms dont forget there is another 30 plus weeks to obtai some!!!although like i posted earlier my boobs were excruciating this time last time round (if that makes sense..!)i didnt get any sickness though, but my body has been 'dabbling' in it this week... i want to take another test but kinda feel scared to in case it really didnt happen!

Went to the hairdressers today, first time since beore i was pregnant with DD... must be a year and half, feels great now....like i just stepped out of salon.. oh i did! hehehe

Hows everyones day been?

Piffle · 19/07/2006 19:06

Hot!!!, was really tired after lunch, dd needed getting up to 3 x last night and I have been waking early 6.15 ish (very unlike me) so I plonked dd into bed and grabbed an hour myself
BLISS
I am really missing an afternoon lager I must say... I know 1-2 units 1-2 x a week is ok BUT one can of lager is 2.6 units [anger]
So easier not to drink anything!
probably would taste it and it would taste grim with preggy taste buds!
My (.) (.) are getting a bit more tender now...
Have been told I get my early tv scan in exactly 2 weeks...

1973magpie · 19/07/2006 19:19

Evening All, am very hot now - at least I was slightly cooler at work! Luckily dh is being wonderful, cooking my tea for me AGAIN, and letting me put my feet up .

I plucked up the courage to tell my boss today, because I have been really distracted and dizzy and thought they would probably notice soon. He was great actually, had guessed that I might be due to me not smoking any more!

Apparently there is no Maternity 'Policy' at work, so it'll be the statutory minimum for me, unless I can summon the energy to negotiate anything better, but haven't got the get up and go for that at the mo .

At least he didn't get too stressed about it, he even said that he was expecting it as I only got married last month, and my 'biological clock was ticking' (bless him, just a polite way of saying that I'm getting on!!)

novadandypowder · 19/07/2006 20:31

Jay - I want to do another test too!! Think I might actually get one tomorrow, just to put my mind at rest.

Piffle - I'm going to get a private early dating scan in a couple of weeks. I did last time as I just can't wait 12 wks to find out if things are ok.

I'm such a worry wart!

kikidee · 19/07/2006 20:43

Good evening and welcome to all the new ladies.
Spooks, so sorry to hear your news.

Piffle, I don't have lots of symptoms either. I have been thinking that I don't actually feel that pregnant. My symptoms are:

Sore boobs.
Big appetite.
Wobbliness if I don't eat regularly.
Irritation - but trying to keep a lid on it.
V.bad broken out skin like before period.

I wasn't sick with my ds but I seem to think I was more tired. I saw my doctor yesterday who gave me 19.3.07 as a date and has referred me to the maternity unit. We go on holiday just as I hit 12 weeks so it would be really nice to have the scan just before then. He has passed on my holiday dates so hopefully they will try and fit me in or I will have to wait until 14 weeks.

I had a CS last time and I am not sure what I want to do this time. DS was breach so, provided this baby is not also breach, there should be no reason not to try VBAC - but I'm not sure I want to. I sort of feel it's better the devil you know. I had a fantastic consultant the last time and I will be seen by him again so I will take his advice.

Hope you all keep well.

kittywits · 19/07/2006 22:16

I think I'm getting that really awful early pregnancy tiredness. You know the one where yours eyes just shut, doesn't matter where you are?
I'm still in shock about this pregnancy and sad about having to give up my evening drinks on these lovely summer evenings.
is anyoone else feeling that overwhelming tiredness?

Jaysecond · 20/07/2006 07:32

ok MS has hit with avengence.....not used to how quick it would take over me( never had it before) Got out of bed to see to DD it was all i could do before i made it to the loo. (thats sickface btw not jelous!) ooooooootake it away, so all you MS veterans, what do i do about it? How can i make it stop.....?

leogaela · 20/07/2006 08:37

I've still not got any pregnancy symptoms but am still suffering with an awful cold so it may be masking them. i am going to bed really, really early. I definitely don't want any symptoms! its not long enough ago for me to have forgotten how awful it was last time! I need to function at work and have several weeks of holiday planned which I want to enjoy!

Jay - just keep eating small amounts of simple things, I find apples are great and things like ryvita. Drink lots of water (or ginger tea) as well. Don't let yourself get too hungry but don't eat too muc in one go. and get loads of sleep

Piffle - I'm a wine drinker, but a the moment not missing it one bit at the moment which I am quite surprised about, I'm sure I missed it last time and did have a glass or two a week throughout the pregnancy.

Kitty, sympathies with the overwhelming tiredness. I know what you mean. It doesn't matter how much you sleep either, you still feel tired!

Please keep the info coming about what your doctors and midwives advice about VBAC and how you feel about it. This is something I am going to need to keep talking about for a while I'm afraid.

Magpie - great about your boss's response. there's no need to discuss it further with him now. Take your time to think about what you want to do and what you expect from them and then when you feel better sit down and have a proper discussion with your boss and HR.

mia84 · 20/07/2006 08:38

Hello ladies
I had my BFP last night. Bit of a shock to be honest! Midwife thinks im about 6/7 weeks.
I had a missed MC last August, stopped growing at 7 weeks, so im sooooo scared about getting ahead of myself, but i know i'll need supprt whatever happens!
Does anyone know if the chance of missed mc is greater second time round??

Mia xx

wheelybug · 20/07/2006 08:53

Hi and welcome Mia - congratulations and here's hoping for a more positive outcome this time. I don't know about liklihoods of these things repeating themselves but hopefully someone else might do.

Jays - sorry to hear about the MS. Since my dash to the bathroom last friday I have eaten a ginger biscuit virtually on waking, or as soon as I vaguely start to feel rubbish. This seems to help so far. I'm eating dd's organix ginger bread men !! Have ordered some preggiepops too.

I am sooo missing the drink . I felt like it all the way through with dd and seem to this time too.... and the timing couldn't be better either - birthday last weekend and wedding anniversary this weekend! Might manage to sneak a little glass of champagne in though.

Right, hope its cooler today, I hate to moan about hot weather but yesterday was ridiculous ! Am off to richmond park today too so could do with it being not quite so hot !! Have a nice day everyone...

novadandypowder · 20/07/2006 09:19

'adjusts expert hat'...For bad morning sickness you can try the following:
1, eat some slow release carbs like porridge before going to bed
2, when you wake in the night have a cracker/ginger biscuit/cereal bar
3, when you wake in the morning before you lift your head off the pillow eat a cracker/ginger biscuit/cereal bar

Trad remedies include, ginger (either eaten or drunk), sea sickness bands, eating little and often, and rest (pah!). None of these worked for me so I ended up having acupunture, which seemed to ease it but it hurt so I stopped going. My acupunturist also told me not to have icy cold drinks as it makes the sickness worse (true, but difficult in this weather) and to snack on those little fruit puree pots you can get for babies (like organix/fruitapura) as they are gentle on the digestive system.

I'm also going to try homeopathic remedies this time (nux vom) and preggy pops. You can also try sucking mints or sour lemon sweets, and even sniffing mint oil or a cut lemon is supposed to help.

Welcome Mia - I posted on your tongue piercing thread, do you think you'll take it out?

mia84 · 20/07/2006 09:26

Hi nova, yep i remember!
Ive got it in at the moment, but when it makes me feel sick i take it out. I'll probably end up leaving it out. Gutted though!

Ive been feeling sick at night, and getting headaches. is this normal?
Also ive been a bit carsick. I'm actually glad to be feeling sick as its a good sign isnt it?

stretchmarks · 20/07/2006 09:30

Morning everyone and welcome all new additions.

Spook sorry to hear your news.

Still feeling ok pregnancy symptoms are very mild which I should be embracing but at this stage I like to be reminded that I am pregnant until the bump starts to grow just so I know something is happening - there's no pleasing me. My MS didn't start till a bit later with DS so I maybe regretting these words soon. Had a look at some of the 3D/4D scans available the other night has anybody tried these they look amazing.
