pmsl @ the burger analogy
I'm still temping for the next 2 weeks until I hit 6 weeks and had temp drop today so am holding tight and hopefully its just a temporary blip...

novadandypowder · 18/07/2006 09:28

Morning everyone. I think it's finally sinking in and my body has suddenly shifted into pg mode - rounded tummy, fuller boobs, empty nauseous feeling, blocked nose, insomnia, needing the loo, dry mouth..I could go on, lol!

Hoping I don't get a repeat of last time as I was sick from 7 - 28wks.

Piffle - whats the relevance of temping once you're pg? Sorry if I missed something as I only joined yesterday, hope you're well.

Jay - we didn't find out with DD as DH wanted a surprise, and even though I'm glad we waited I still want to find out what this one will be. DH refuses though, so I guess it'll be another surprise. Really don't mind what we have, I've been getting some unisex clothes for DD just in case.

1973magpie · 18/07/2006 10:28

Morning all, congratulations and welcome to nova and wanna

I agree nova I seem to have all the above symptoms except for the dry mouth and insomnia (I'm just waking up at the crack of dawn which is MOST unlike me!!)

Jay - We haven't decided whether or not to find out the sex yet. I guess it might be useful to help make it more real for dd and dsd, and to help decide what to buy, but as I am completely unable to make a rational decision at the moment who knows!

Jaysecond · 18/07/2006 10:35

i second the list of ailments nova.... apart from the rounded tummy, its always rounded!!! boobs arent sore yet as they were last time though, but i do need the loo more often and then when i get there theres not much but a trickle TMI!! Certainly have the empty nausea feeling, thats been kicking about since yesterday morning, all i wanted to do was curl up and sleep, not possible with a 6 mth old or when you need to pack up!! Still it will pass am sure. Contemplating swimming today as its sooooo hot, just trying to decide whether the world is fit to see me in my cozzy!!!
Re the sex of buba, we foud out the first time round with a 3D scan, it was totally amazing, and think we might do it again with number 2, its the only way to be reallly sure of what 'fast food' you are getting ( lol @burger laidbackinasia)

1973magpie · 18/07/2006 11:28

TMI Alert - I have got some pinky-brown discharge this morning after indulging in some early morning bding (sorry, did say TMI!), is this normal?

I think I am probably worrying unecessarily, but don't remember this from last time. There doesn't seem to be any blood, and it's only slightly pinky, but am a bit worried still.

Any ideas? Thanks

Jaysecond · 18/07/2006 13:07

Hi Magpie, sorry, i dont have any ideas am afraid. Why not call the MW or Doc for some reasurance? Or posting on Health or pregnancy talk? Let us know how you are!

1973magpie · 18/07/2006 14:37

Thanks for the reply Jays, it seems to have stopped now, and was only a little bit, so I think it may have just been down to a bit too much enthusiasm earlier

morocco · 18/07/2006 14:57

hi everyone
I've skimmed the thread but it's pretty long already!! I'd like to add myself to your list if that's Ok.

Stats
me 33, mostly sahm but a bit of teaching in the evenings
dh 33 also works in education
ds1 3, coming up to 4
ds2 2, is 3 in March!!
cat - 4 months

I've known for about a week and it's all a bit of a shock, unplanned to say the least. I've not told dh yet cos he'll get well stressed out (we buy a new house on Thursday for a start and the plan was to pay the mortgage with my wages as I started back at work more part time once ds2 started nursery). But I'm pretty upbeat about it, where there's a will . . .
I have not a clue when ds3 (seems inevitable it will be a boy, they all are in our families) will arrive but I'm guessing at mid March. Part of me hopes that when I go for the scan they'll find out I sailed through 3 months without even noticing I was pregnant and it's actually due in November but my fab abs have been holding it all in.
Sadly, I don't think my abs are really that great at their job!
Hi to everyone and look forward to chatting to you some more
(btw, 'lbi asia' I had my first 2 in Morocco - very inventive name I have given myself on here lol! - and well remember the stinky smells that used to make me retch - you have my sympathies!)

1973magpie · 18/07/2006 15:01

Hi Morocco, congratulations and welcome I think you just manage with what life throws at you, we planned this one, but I'm not entirely sure how we will manage financially - we just will!

dixia · 18/07/2006 16:54

Hello again all,

Welcome to Nova, Wanna and Morocco. Good to have you on board .

Anyone heard from Spooks yet?
Spooks, I hope your scan was ok. Thinking about you.

Got bad MS. Dragged myself out of bed this morning feeling v rough. I'm running workshops at a summer school for 5 weeks (this is week 4). I'm finding it really hard at the moment to get there and be sure I won't vom all over the kids. I warned the organiser today that I may have to call in sick a bit.

Schlepped off to Ikea in Seville yesterday. It was 42 degrees in Seville! Luckily Ikea was aircon luxury. Finally bought a bed, so I'm now not sleeping on the floor. Hoorah!

Jaysecond · 18/07/2006 16:57

Hi Morocco and welcome to our thread, wea re growing constantly! So do you think that your DH will be ok with the news of another baby? like Magpie says what will be will be, you get by and survive because thats what you do!!

Took DD swimming this afternoon, she LOVED it.. mind you she loves her baths so i guessed she would have fun, just deciding now what to have for dinner, DH is away till Fri so i can please myself, which is always good, might have a bar of chocolate and cereal...or sponge pudding and cream......hmmmm or should i be good....?

Piffle · 18/07/2006 18:17

Welcome Morocco
I came on to see if Spook had been on
Thinking of you Spook
x

novadandypowder · 18/07/2006 18:33

I'm new on here, but my good wishes are also with you Spooks.

I came to add that I also have 3 cats, seeing as everyone had put their pets on.

Oh, and add forgetfulness to the list of symptoms - lol!

Booboobedoo · 18/07/2006 18:35

Evening all.

Hope you're ok Spook.

Welcome to nova, wannabump and Morocco, and congratulations on your news

I'm 7w today. Still feeling terrible, but haven't actually been sick, which is wonderful. Sorry to hear you're feeling stinky dixia. I'm lucky in that I don't have to go back to work until September

How's everyone coping with the heat? London is pretty much unbearable at the moment. The dog hates it.

dixia · 18/07/2006 18:35

Did anyone hear Womans Hour today?

They did a section on the latest research regarding Morning Sickness.

you can listen again by clicking here

Click Radio 4, then Womans Hour - Tues. The section on MS comes up at the 27th minute. You can click forward 15 minutes using the buttons on the top left.

wheelybug · 18/07/2006 18:51

Hi All - and welcome Morroco ! Good luck with telling dh - as they others say, you'll cope just fine !

Also popped in to see how Spook is ... thinking of you SPook.

We have no pets - sob. Thinking of a rabbit for dd's second birthday as she seems to love them ! Would love a dog but dh persuades me London isn't the best place for one ...

Forgetfullness is definitely a problem here, which reminds me I forgot dh's suit from the drycleaners yet again...

wheelybug · 18/07/2006 18:58

Laidback - yes we did visit Galle. It is such a beautiful country. Were you effected by the tsunami ? I thought that area was hit quite badly.

1973magpie · 18/07/2006 20:00

Evening All, thinking of you today spooks, I am hoping that no news is good news as they say

I am feeling better now after my worrying earlier, I think the paranoia is getting to me too! Still very tired, but grateful that at least I don't feel that sick this time round

Talking of pets I have two cats (14 and 7yrs) and I don't know what they will think when the new arrival comes - they left home for a week when dd was born!!

Piffle · 18/07/2006 21:16

Just listened to the womans hour thing
Funny with ds- no morning sickness craved berries and melon
dd- severe hyperemesis til wk 24 and I craved... lager of all things
I am really concerned about getting that sick again
I have bought preggie pops, a morning well cd, an aromatherapy stick, ginger oatcakes etc so am READY!
Also does anyone know why a thick band of flesh has wrapped around where my tummy used to be?
I'm not even 5 wks yet I know its baby #3 but

dixia · 19/07/2006 08:14

kittywits · 19/07/2006 09:44

Hello Everyone. I am new to this thread. I have just this min done a preg test and have a bfp. Not sure how to react. I'm scared beyond all description. This will be my 6th baby if it sticks. My eldset is 7 and yougest 6 months. I thought I wanted this but now I'm just terrified. I've had lots of mc's in between my kids, 6 in total so I'm fully expecting this one not to stick. The line is pretty strong though. I think I'll need everyone's support here!

novadandypowder · 19/07/2006 09:44

Piffle - I'm getting prepared too, am going to visit the homeopath next week, and am stocking up on porridge.

spook · 19/07/2006 09:48
