Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
YellowFeathers · 09/07/2006 17:58

I probably would just so I would know what to do. Especially if your ds was early too.

They may say just wait and see although at the same time prepare yourself for them saying come in to be monitored and checked out.

Can you two send me some labour vibes please. I'm 35 weeks today, I wouldn't mind going in to labour!

trix1 · 09/07/2006 18:03

For all my talk I could go over, I hope not though. Have you been drinking raspberry tea and eating pineapples?

YellowFeathers · 09/07/2006 18:06

No should I?

I didn't think you were supposed to be drinking it until 37 weeks and I'd heard it tastes like pond water?

Having said that I'd eat the dirty white mushy scum thats coming out of the brick fireplace if it brought on labour atm!

Its just dawning on me now that we only have a few weeks to go!

Where is Arabica? Is she ok?

trix1 · 09/07/2006 18:08

On my box from Holland & Barrets it says to take from 35 weeks but Ive seen in my pregnancy magazines that you can take it from 32 weeks. Ive only started drinking it since yesterday - I quite like the taste of.

YellowFeathers · 09/07/2006 18:15

Oh well I'm off to get some then!

God if only I'd have known.

Might even let dh have a treat tonight or every night from now on

trix1 · 09/07/2006 18:16

ha ha yellow.

is this your first baby?

YellowFeathers · 09/07/2006 18:19

No its my second.

(its Nbg!)

trix1 · 09/07/2006 18:26

oh hello nbg

pucca · 09/07/2006 18:33

About the raspberry leaf tea, i drank loads of the stuff from 35 weeks with my dd, i went a week over due date! and i forced myself to drink the stuff, but if you like it thats ok just don't be surprised if zilch happens. .

A day out around town shopping is what got me going first time around, waters went that night

YellowFeathers · 09/07/2006 18:46

PinkTulips · 09/07/2006 21:07

trix, if you don't like the taste of the tea why don't you buy the tablets? 32 weeks is when i heard to start taking it too and on the tub it says they're safe from 28 weeks.

having another fit of nesting this evening which is all very well but my back is suffering with alll the cleaning and moving stuff around!

Arabica · 09/07/2006 23:10

Hi everyone and welcome back YF! I am fine and my last 2 hospital visits have been positive. I am to have a C-section on 27 July and have been warned that if I go into labour before that they will still advise a C-section because the baby will be going to special care and they need to have the special care team ready. Have told bump v sternly not to come out until the hospital is ready!
Part of me would like to deliver baby asap as I am just so uncomfortable with the swollen feet and legs. There's nothing wrong with me (no protein in urine, normal BP) it's just really, really sore and there is nothing that makes a difference.
Hoping everyone OK and had a good weekend in the cooler weather! My neighbour is 37wks and about 2-3 weeks ago she was convinced her labour was starting as she had an experience that sounded identical to pucca's. The next morning she was OK. I would have panicked if it was me. I've never had a BH contraction so I would have been sure it was the real thing!

eenywifemum · 10/07/2006 13:02

ooh I need to get some raspberry leaf tea/or tablets!!! I can take them now! (33 weeks Friday which you can tell I am pleased about)
Pink do you like the taste of the tea? I hear such awful, then great things about it!

Arabica I do hope your baby behaves and waits til the 27th I have a feeling it will.

I also had a fit of nesting this weekend - was very disapointed that we couldnt go out labour bag shopping as we didnt have enough money to buy that stuff AND the top I needed to get - and I did need the top to wear to a baby dedication this Sunday. So labour bag shopping has to wait til payday at the end of July - cutting it a bit fine for me, I like to be organised well in advance. Instead of doing that I just sorted out loads of other stuff that needed doing - was up til 1:30 last night cleaning and organising. I could have kept going for hours but I knew I should stop. Have more to do today! Pregnancy CAN be very productive!

dressedupnowheretogo · 10/07/2006 13:19

i was like that on saturday eeny had finished cleaning the house by 12 and had a lie down and slept for two hours

i think im addicted to orange juice and ice i cant stop drinking it must say its making me very regular and costing me a fortune in ice cube bags

i have a four foot high ironing pile and i cant be ar$ed to do it im sure its gonna topple over and bury me

PinkTulips · 10/07/2006 13:21

eeny - bought a box of the tea when i was pregnant with dd and just threw it in the bin unopened last week a it expired.... never did get up the guts to taste it . hear it's foul though.

so sore today, feels like theres just not enough room in my pelvis anymore, baby keeps pinching things and my back is aching constantly.... hope to god i don't really have a month of this to go.

full moon tonight girls so that might bring on something in those of you who are on the verge.... speaking of which how are Snow and Pucca and Trix today?

trix1 · 10/07/2006 13:38

Hello, how are you all today? Im feeling fine no pains at all today.

It was me who posted that I actually like the raspberry tea.

I am not usually fond of housework at all and yesterday spent an hour mopping the kitchen floor!!!

eenywifemum · 10/07/2006 13:41

Hi again!

Pink is your baby engaged?

how is everybody today? I'm alright! Hot! I just went to the PO carrying far too much - I still cant catch my breath.

So trix I have to say, although you liked it, I am scared to try it!! I think I may get the tablets. Where can you get them? I am a bit funny about drinking things anyway as some drinks set off my hyperemesis so tablets will probably be best... as long as they arent huge... oh dear!

lunavix · 10/07/2006 13:45

Today is my first day as a parttime worker instead of fulltime.. I started cleaning the lounge but only did one tiny bit! Ds is in a very whingey mood today though and my fuse has been quite short, not entirely sure why, as I think I slept okay.

I don't want to take any raspberry leaf tea till the summer holidays. The earliest mine's allowed to come is two weeks (else I will really struggle work-wise) so it must stay put!

dressedupnowheretogo · 10/07/2006 13:47

weather is horrid here all ive done to today is slob around still in my pj's cant be bothered to get dressed

secretly enjoying tho

trix1 · 10/07/2006 13:55

you can get the tablets and the teabag version from Holland & Barratts.

dressedupnowheretogo · 10/07/2006 14:01

the tablets are quite big tho thats why im not bothering gag reflex is too strong

olivo · 10/07/2006 14:05

I'm with you luna - cant arrive until at least 2 weeks time so that work is out of the way! am really struggling with sleeping - my hips just kill me after about 45 mins on each side so I'm awake at least every hour walking round - grrr!

have boycotted the superstition thing and put the pushchair in the shed and the car seat in the house! dh spent most of yesterday constructing ikea furniture so can start sorting things out -am really excited !

YellowFeathers · 10/07/2006 14:13

Hi everyone.
I'm off to town on Wednesday so it'll be a trip to the health food shop for lots and lots of Raspberry tea I'm not a fan of herbal teas but needs must!

Hi Arabica Great to hear things are sounding positive for you and baby and great that you have a date for your section too. Have they said how long baby will be in special care or will it be a case of him/her going in to check everything is ok and coming out if it is?
While we had no connection one of things I kept thinking about was you and Emkana. I even tried to mumsnet from my mobile!

Well its been a good day so far. We've ordered a dishwasher which I am soooo excited about as we've never had one before. I think it'll be fab for cleaning out all the bottles as I used to hate that job.
Since I didn't get round to spending on dh's card yesterday I'm going to do it today. I've got my list so I should hopefully finish getting the rest of the baby bits.

dressedupnowheretogo · 10/07/2006 14:20
