Hello all, sorry i haven't been on for a while, wanadoo is crap! Sounds like we are all experiencing the further joys of pregnancy!! Went to hosp last week as had major lower stomach cramps, a show of some description and this happened at about 2 in the morning, DH pissed still from England playing night before so have now barred him from drinking. Nothing came out of the hosp visit just that the hospital very understaffed and i was knackered(although was brill listening to bambino for an hour!) oh and i really needed to get an hospital bag and a bit more organised choice as to what i would take with me! Poor kid wouldn't have had a thing if he had been born!

No piles yet ladies (touch wood) and boobs still not re-inflated! xx

just heard that the first girl in my antenatal class - i was with the due in july mums, she was due this weekend - has had her baby; makes it all seem so real!

quiet day for my baby today so looking forward to hearing it on the sonic later. doesnt seem to like mornings!

Hi! Thanks everyone for your well wishes!

Well it's a good question about whether or not it can be piles if you don't have any pain or any lumpy bits. That is the question we are asking!

Was at the hospital last night til almost midnight and all they could work out was that the blood was coming from my bottom - but I do not have any pain or lumpy bits so it COULD be internal piles, maybe, or it might be something totally different. Either way they probably wont be able to work it out til after the baby is born and hopefully by then it will have resolved itself anyway.

The best bit was they had me strapped up to a fetal monitor for ages and had Salamander weilding the scanner - he loved it!! He had to move it around as Alex moved to follow his heart beat. The midwife said she did believe the thing about heart rate detecting sex - she said a boy at rest would be about 120 and a girl higher... I cant remember what she said a girl would be.

But Alex was about 150-170 most of the time - when Sal or I talked to him it dropped to 130. It was so much fun!! He was really hyper though and kicking loads. I had a clicker I had to click each time I felt him move and I was practically holding it down!

PinkTulips · 27/06/2006 13:43

glad everythings ok eeny, lucky you getting to hear him on the monitor for so long, had one on the whole time i was in labour with dd and it was so lovely hearing her heart beating away, well it was until everything went haywire and her heart practically stopped but that a whole other thread!

Afternoon everyone hope your all well!

Sounds like you & Sal had fun with your little Alex last night Eeny? Very !!! Glad to hear your ok and its nothing serious!

Went to midwife yesterday and am sure she measured me wrong? She has measured my fundal height at 36cm and 2 weeks ago it was 32cm? How can that be? She said they need to keep an eye on it as I may be referred to a consultant for a growth scan and if turns out to be big baba I'll be induced earlier than due date!!??? Really dont think she measured me properly though and she couldnt even find where the head was? She was prodding me for ages and still coudlnt tell me baby's position! Started saying that my belly was not all baby as I was a plump lady (Cheeky git!) and then said I must call them if I get dizzy, itchy, sick or really thirsty? Christ was she trying to shit me up or what? I'm not worrying though as havent felt any of the above and think she was over-concerning herself tbh. Heartrate was 140bpm so still could be either boy or girl I think!

Snowboo, I know how your feeling chick, I cant seem to get comfy at night and truning over is a nightmare, getting out of bed is even worse, feel so stiff and achey, my left buttock is killing for some reason not sure if I've pulled a muscle but its making me waddle to the max. Lying on my back with loads of pillows doesnt seem to be working any longer either. felt loads of kicks during the night so looks like baba is getting ready for the real world lol

Thanx for info on Mat grant Pucca, my MIL is adamant that every mother gets it? May just give them a ring to shut her up! lol. Will let you know Sarahlou once I find out!

Olivo, you saying about the girl who's just had her baba, I've been chatting to some other local girls on here for few months now who are at the same hospital as me. One was due in June and other in July, they have both had their babies over the weekend so I'm only one left! Does make it feel real and not too far away! How exciting!

We are having wardrobes delivered, sky installed and picking up our new 'family-saloon' car this week, its all happening! Then all I'll have left to do when I break up is wash the baba stuff and get my hospital bag/birth plan prepared! Anybody else done their birth plan yet? Wasnt going to but may do a simple and basic one for back up!

Crikey its another essay, sorry so long (again!)

PinkTulips - Sounds like your DD's birth was eventful!! Glad it worked out alright!

BHM - That is strange about your MW! I'd be annoyed if mine had said that plump comment. I guess they figure they can say what they want! It is strange that she couldnt find the position though. I wouldnt worry - she sounds a little strange!

I find when I am lying down, sitting up is really hard! You use your tummy muscles for that and they are just too complicated right now.

I am going to try to get my birthing plan written up this week - last MW appointment I asked all the questions I needed answers to so now I just have to write it all down. There is so much to do, I am spending too much time on MN!

Anyone else feeling really low and miserable?

Can't seem to cheer myself up. Poor ds keeps coming over and cuddling me and rubbing my belly, have to keep reassure him he is being an absolute angel today.

Doesn't help when the bloody dog has taken to pooing in the house overnight. Wee i can kind of deal with but this???? Poor dh came down this morning to piles of it (sorry tmi) and when i popped up the shop for yet more disinfectant (at the top of my road i might add) came home to yet more poo! Wouldn't mind but she goes for long walks, has a big garden to play in and is spoilt rotten and this is how she repays me. Anyone want a dog??
Or where can i advertise her? Loathe to take her back to Battersea but i really can't keep her anymore. Its too much with ds and baby on the way.

God, all i seem to do is whinge! Off to pull myself together.

Eeny...So glad all was ok with LO Have been thinking about you and have kept checking to see if there was any news

BHM...It would be fab if we all got the maternity grant, but i am pretty sure it is just for low income unfortunately.

I have been to see consultant today, and felt like a freak show! the MW called in a couple of other MW's and then 2 consultants came in too, to feel my tummy! All saying "she is only 32 weeks", anyway i have a scan booked for 10 am tomorrow so will let you all know how i get on.As i said before i don't think the size really matters as i am having a section anyway, just means i will be like a hippo for another 6/7 weeks lol.I am glad i don't have many newborn clothes anyway, i have bought mostly 0-3 as i was similar with dd, she wasn't in newborn long at all!

Hope all is ok with everyone else?

SnowBoo - I have been feeling really down as well lately, although I have cheered up at times it's been hard getting there. I'm sure it's hormones! Hope you feel better soon. Hope we both do!

Pucca - Thanks so much for checking on us I cant believe they were all making such a fuss about the size of your bump! Let us know how it goes at the scan! How big was your DD when she was born? Sorry I know you've said before but I can't find it.

Snowboo...I know how you feel hun I have just picked myself up, as i was feeling very down last week, and it doesn't help having a LO already to chase around after, oh the joys of the 1st pregnancy when you can rest when you want etc...

I also kinda know how you feel about your dog, when i was 38 weeks pg with my dd my cat ended up with something wrong with her, where poo leaked out of her bum constantly (sorry tmi!) all i did was clean up cat s**t ( which i know you are not suppose to do)i ended up sobbing! especially as it was over xmas and my vet didn't want to know! On my hands and knees scrubbing for like a week! it was vile!I would clean it up, then there would be more yuck! I think the dog will be too much for you to deal with, if it keeps pooing in the house all the time.

Snowboo, I know how you feel as our dog had a booster injection few weeks ago and shat everywhere in the house starting with my feet as I sat on the toilet, it stunk the whole flat out and made me & DH heave, she must've had an upset stomach! As he was cleaning it up she did it in the kitchen and the hallway luckily not ont he carpet! cleaning it up is one thing I hate but the smell is even worse! I couldnt bend down either as my bump just wont allow me to - used half pack of baby wipes then loads of dettol! YUk sorry if tmi everyone! Just can relate to Snow's experience! I could have cried that night.

I think at this stage of pg we all get a bit fed up especially not being able to move around very well and not sleeping is horrid! I just keep counting those weeks down and thinking in 6 weeks time I will be able to breathe again, my ankles will have bones again, and the heartburn will dissapear! Does anybody else tell their bump to stop kicking mommy? I sometimes get bit frustrated when it doesnt stop for an hour solid! Feel guilty afterwards tho !

Eeny, that midwife who made that comment is bigger than me would you believe?? Its just a good job I have got sense of humour and can laugh it off!

Pucca, when my midwife said that to me yest they had the door wide open when measuring my fundal height and another midwife popping in and out, she had got my pants halfway down and anybody could have walked right past! midwifes eh! Dont ya just luv'em!

supposed to be tidying up while dp has taken dd out of my hair for a few mins but can't physically keep bending to pick up bl*dy crayons and pencils, and the tile floor is to hard for my poor swollen legs to crawl around on. grrrr i get so frustrated at this stage.

poor Snow, that dog sounds like a nightmare, our cat was a nuisance when i was pregnant with dd too, he peed on the bed more times than i can count but reserved pooing for the bathmat for some inexplicable reason, idiot thing was damn near evicted! he's been remarkably well behaved since we moved to a bigger apartment and hes not allowed upstairs though... go figure! hope your dog starts to behave himself so you don't have to get rid

Thanks ladies. Feel better knowing i'm not the only one with a PITA pet!

Had a little cry earlier which has helped a little and ds wouldn't let me get him ready for bed, he tried to find everything and made me lay down on the bed so he could look after me.

Dh on the other hand.....is asleep on the sofa after saying he would be up to help 2 hrs ago. Lazy sod.

Hey ho. Well at least its my last day at work tomorrow!!! Yippee! Can't wait to get out of there and take a year off. Will i miss it??? I think not.

Pucca, they keep telling me i'm in for a biggie baby as he is two weeks bigger than his dates. By their record. By mine he is spot on. Why oh why don't midwives listen to the mother???? Good luck with the scan.

Eeny, how are you feeling now? Glad you got yourself checked over. (Says she who is in agony and refuses to call mw!)

hi ya sorry was reallly down yesterday so stayed out the way

scan went well had a very thorough but impersonal sonographer and a random consultant and was left feeling v releived but fed up with there attitude felt i was a time waster think as well was emotional as my dh couldnt get hold of his boss to come with me

apparently according to scan baba isnt that big but consultant agreed with me emasuring 34weeks and im 32 today so who knows

had my first antnatal class today there was 14 women and 4 dads and we get three two and a half hours sessions not very impressed to be honest everything that was stressed deemed to be about saving money for the nhs which made me mad

sal im wondering if this is normal through out the nhs

hope evryone is well glad to know your ok eeny do you feel better for actually being in a labour suite coz i know i do now

by the way sick of footy any one else

Booby - I was sick of football BEFORE it came on the tv!!!
Re antenatal classes - I haven't bothered this time around as it's my second but first time, we decided instead of doing sessions, we would do a full day (my dh works shifts so we couldn't make it every week). I remember it being January/February and in a very cold room. We were shown lots of videos and pictures but didn't cover the actual basics that mums need - ie., breathing, went to pant etc. Felt very let down and that was 3 years ago now! On the actual day, I just listened to my body and this got me through.
