Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
muminaquandary · 13/07/2006 13:06

hello all v pleased to see that I am still on your list Ptulips despite never posting!! actaully I had started 1 thread on parenting about womething that happened recently that freaked me out & got me thinking about your judgements about people / other parents, also have posted ona thread re husbands and housework , and getting stuff in the sale!

so have been very disloyal but luckily have not got into anthing too controversial!! eeny & sal that whole thread is ridiculous, have you seen how long it is now??!!

muminaquandary · 13/07/2006 13:07

penis-type finger??!! plse explain!

YellowFeathers · 13/07/2006 13:10

Jangeggybee!

See this thread will kee you amused till d day!

janeggybee · 13/07/2006 13:10

well, i have what is known as whitlow / paranychia. basically my finger is infected and swollen up. it looks like hard on!!
is very painful (am not able to cope with this pain - how will i manage in delivery room???)
am on antibiotics for it but am tempted to just cut it off. hubby doing washing up as i cant

muminaquandary · 13/07/2006 13:16

ouch you poor thing!! well as for labour there is the wonderful recent scientific innovation called an epidural, which I can thoroughly recommend!

lunavix · 13/07/2006 13:19

lol at penis finger!

I can't believe how long that thread is either, however I posted on it, and now I'm being criticized by a number of people for an affectionate term dh and I use! I really do think they have no better use of time.

dreamydowler · 13/07/2006 13:21

hehehehe just turned on and the first word I see is penis finger really some people are more sex mad than me (grin)

janeggybee · 13/07/2006 13:21

i am not good with pain!! scared of epidurals as i was told that they catheterise you as well. have m/wife appt tommorow so will discuss my fears with her.

janeggybee · 13/07/2006 13:23

dreamy - which is the long thread??? who is criticising you??

lunavix · 13/07/2006 13:23

Tbh by the time I had my epidural the pain was such that the catheter REALLY did not bother me. Plus as the words 'emergency caesarean' had started to fly around I realised I'd probably end up with one anyways.

What I'd be more worried about with an epidural (but do bear in mind this is coming from someone who would have one again!) is that you had an increased risk of needing an episiotomy. Which, unlike the catheter, will still hurt days after giving birth...

PinkTulips · 13/07/2006 13:23

jan - am also useless with most pain, whinge my way through pregnancy, not able to cope with the aches and pains but when it came down to the actuaul labour last time i was fine, didn't even need pain relief! and as MIAQ said, if thats not the case with you theres always the epidural! you'll be amazed at how quickly you forget the pain too... i was still in the labour ward when i started thinking 'hey, i wouldn't mind another!'

dreamydowler · 13/07/2006 13:26

you poor thing janeeggybee its nice that you can still remember what a hard on looks like though (envy) I would milk it for all its worth though whilst your husband is doing the washing up the finger that is (blush)

janeggybee · 13/07/2006 13:26

lordy!! thinking of doing the marathon again so quickly! i do know a few people who have become preggers again before even returning to work.

muminaquandary · 13/07/2006 13:27

I had no idea that they catheterised you for an epidural ... sheesh, I must have been REALLY out of it (well I was, just ask DH, but I won't bore you with gory details now!!!!)

frodofitz · 13/07/2006 13:28

Afternoon all, so jelous of your purchases guys, all i can do is wash the stuff i bought ages and ages ago....i'm bored! YF have you got cravings for sponges too? I posted mine ages ago but then lost the thread to see if anyone thought i was crazy (and too embarrassed to come back on!) Did finally confess to my friend who said she craved new carpet??
Just thinking of sponges makes my mouth water but now moved on to j-cloths and any other cleaning product!

Eeny and Sal the thought of that thread upsetting you so much has put me off even looking at it, i hope other people reading it just think..shit stirrers and don't get further involved...

I'm in Wakefield-Yorkshire by the way and i've also been telling everyone my due date incorrectly for 8 months, i'm actually due on the 13/08 with a boy (Joe)

muminaquandary · 13/07/2006 13:29

btw can someone make a new thread for this and is taking ages to crank into action .... >650 messages!!!

muminaquandary · 13/07/2006 13:30

just noticed it was sarahlou last time - is she our resident IT lady?

janeggybee · 13/07/2006 13:30

frodo - what is this evil thread??? i would like to jump in on it!!! i like a good rant!! promise i will take your side

janeggybee · 13/07/2006 13:32

craving carpets and sponges.....??
does this come under the umbrella of pica??

eenywifemum · 13/07/2006 13:33

hang on a sec I will start a new thread...

Salamander · 13/07/2006 13:34

Frodo, Yellow, MinaQ, etc - thanks!!!

I too can't believe they are STILL discussing the whole 4yr BF thing - most of them said it had been done to death countless times before - ah well!

I don't normally advertise my man's bits for the very reason you stated Yellow - once you're rumbled, all Hell can break loose for some reason! I think I come to represent ALL men. The very thought of it ;)
