LOL @ Arabica (De Nile!)

olivo · 06/07/2006 13:15

can't find booby's thread - can anyone do me a link please?

Micku5 · 06/07/2006 13:18

Hi Booby... I started reading your thread but stopped because as you said it was turning into a vaginal v/s cs thread.

As you know this is my second baby and I am having an elective c-section. I did not have a good birth experience with dd and after 26 odd hours labour, a failed ventouse, followed by a complicated emergency c-section i was exhausted and felt awful for the first few days and could barely get out of bed, let alone hold the baby or breastfeed her.

The consultant came to see me afterwards and said any future babies I had would HAVE to be delivered by c-section and to be honest even if he hadn't said that I would have opted for one next time round.

Everyone's body is different and my sister who screams blue murder at a splinter in her finger was able to deliver vaginally with only gas and air whereas my other sister and I had really bad births and both of us had to have c-sections.

At the end of the day you have to do what you feel is right for you and your baby and your health afterwards and sod everyone else it's not them going through it.

Salamander · 06/07/2006 13:20

Have already told Booby about this in the Men's Segregation area, but I should have posted here ages ago!

i'm sure Eeny has informed everyone but here goes:

Sorry i've been absent - main reasons are busy-ness!
I haven't had time to fully put a worthy message together which the August thread deserves.
There is so much going on there that I feel I would be missing a very important bit of info, so I leave Eeny to make sense of it all!
And she seems to do that very well!!

Blood group - yes finally finally I have a result - A+. so Eeny and I are same group but opposites as far as Rhesus goes.
which is quite sweet really - the whole opposites attract business, but it means that little Alex could well be a different group to her so we will have Anti-D at the ready...

There we go - sorry for the lack of postings!!

Salamander

Micku5 · 06/07/2006 13:22

thread here

eenywifemum · 06/07/2006 13:27

Arabica - LOL at the 'I love you even more than Ikea Mummy' I CAN NOT WAIT to have our Alex so I can hopefully hear some gems like that! I am so glad you and your DH were able to enjoy the baby coming!

I started a thread in childbirth that I'd love your opinions on but I dont think I can link to it. Salamander can you please do it for me? Thanks honey.

Luna - thanks for reccommending those! I have to go out today so I will see if there are any in the chemists - ANYTHING is worth a try! The heartburn usually isnt too bad until I lie down but in the middle of the night it gets agonising. Gosh sorry I sound like a drama queen! haha

melsy · 06/07/2006 13:32

oooops sorry being broken record guys,I know Im not going down a good road, its like an anxious, wingy, negative spiral , as keep apologising for behaviour mind set etc.Im not the best preggy person at all. Although it doesnt help that immediate family stuff is quite highly charged right now on top of dealing with my own household & crazy life of hospital & looney bin appointments!! Just need to wave my arms and have a good screamy shouty rant and then be able to go to bed and not talk to anyone all day !!!! NO CHANCE.

Thank you for your post Arabica , your last bit made me rofl. You girls have a great sense of humour , its a real tonic reading posts!!!

Anyone feel sick and losing appetite alot ? Im having to convince myself I need to eat.

Salamander · 06/07/2006 13:33

For Eenywifemum's thread click HERE

Arabica · 06/07/2006 13:36

No Melsy I most definitely have NOT lost my appetite, I just ate a whole family bag of ikea crisps, and 3 peaches!

SnowBoo · 06/07/2006 13:40

Arabica, so glad you have had good news at last! About time. Now enjoy the remainder of your pg!

PT, thanks for that, will toddle off and get my water from the fridge. Needs to be ice cold before i can drink it these days!

Well looking thru my pg books so far i'm having all the symptoms of the run up to labour and thinking about it this is how i felt b4 i had ds2 two years ago....ANd i can now officially cry at ANYthing. Ds has started a new nursery which he loves but it's left me feeling really upset that my baby is growing up. He says 'oh, you crying again mummy? Don't worry, i'm here....'

So who knows, maybe i'll post soon with some news....

SnowBoo · 06/07/2006 13:41

Melsy, i've got loss of appetite and feel really vommy most days now. Then all of a sudden piggsy-ness kicks in and i eat for England....

melsy · 06/07/2006 13:43

gawd theres me typing away , and all these posts have popped up.

Eeny Im on ranitadine 150mg , as acid is also very nasty. My gp prescribed it, but gaviscon do an over the counter lower dosage version.

Will also look for your thread eeny

melsy · 06/07/2006 13:47

lol you lot are quick today.

Will click link now eeny !

snowboo I must admit I read your thread and thought hmmmm is she in early labour. Im not normally scare mongerer). You know you have to eat like 7 pineapples or something to get the amount of enzyme needed to bring on labour !!! OUch like pure acid cocktail. My appetites like yours to snowboo , feel deathly sick and food makes me think UUUGHHHH and then a few hrs later I could eat my whole nosh box and fruit box all in one sitting.

melsy · 06/07/2006 13:51

Oh cant be very helpful eeny , never been on mw led unit and not able to this time. I hope you get some good advice and any worrys & concerns can be relieved a little. xx

SnowBoo · 06/07/2006 13:56

Think i should maybe call my MW and see what she says.

Panicking as ds has started a new nursery but problem is i'm the only one who knows where it is!! Dh is on jury service so can't get hold of him, my emergency contacts seem to have vanished and MIL thinks Wimble-bloody-don is more important. Can't miss the game for anyone! So baby is only allowed to arrive over a weekend. Oh, and dh is on yet another stag do next weekend, thankfully only an hour or so away but sods law baby will want to arrive at night when dh is too p*ed to drive home.

Argggghhhhhh! Panic, panic, panic!!!

Ok, feel better now

melsy · 06/07/2006 13:58

ok posting again, now I do look like a proper looney chatting with meeself now wiht 4 posts in a row!!!

Snowboo whats your due date, cant find you on the due list ???? Im going to be thinking/worrying about you rest of the day now !!!!

melsy · 06/07/2006 13:59

Come sit here with me snowboo and lets do some relaxation breathing !!!!!

Arabica · 06/07/2006 14:03

SnowBoo! I don't know what to say, except good luck...wonder what the mw is going to say. Keep us posted!

SnowBoo · 06/07/2006 14:05

Its under Boopert. 4th August. But he is two weeks bigger by their records, by mine he is due on the 19th July! Have had this argument with them from 8 weeks but sonographer is adamant she is right even thou her colleague agrees with my dates. So a bit stressed as it could be sooner and i have to get my cervical stitch removed before anything happens! Or else its gonna hurt (i think. Logical side says if somethings sewn together and you stretch it....)

Right, lets do the breathing exercises. Haven't ever had classes so will try and remember from 3 years ago.

Arabica · 06/07/2006 14:05

Melsy, it's 4 August I think, SnowBoo was originally Boopert, iirc?
Ooooooooooooh could we get our first birth, that would be so wonderful.

Arabica · 06/07/2006 14:06

x-posts!

melsy · 06/07/2006 14:09

breath in and blow out as much of diaphram as poss , take in good glowing vibes ( I visualise sparkly golden clean air), breath out and deflate whatever you got blown out, letting out all nasties (I visualise a grey mass of something)!!!

SnowBoo · 06/07/2006 14:11

See? Hormonal wreck! Welling up that someone remembers my old screen name....

So if he is early do i get kicked out of Aug thread into July????

Please let me stay! Its nice in here. Do poke my head into July but didn't have the same feel to it....

Am going for a short nap b4 picking ds up at 3pm then will call MW to see what she thinks!

Catch up later xxx!

aprilgirl1 · 06/07/2006 14:12

hey long time since i logged on and there is just so much to catch up on, well i have one day left at work then thats me done for there year i just cant wait!!!!
olivio i am getting the same pains as you are describing, if i walk too quickly or too far i get like a deep stitch in my left hand side of my tummy just across from my belly button ( although it doesnt look much like a belly button these days)
Had a panic on this week on sat i went to a wedding and while getting out of the car i slammed my door on my bump, honest the pain so i was worried sick as i thought the baby wasnt kicking so phones midwife who assued me it takes more than that to hurt baby! but im left a massive bruise on my belly!!!! and a happil kicking baby!!
im still not very big at all dont look 35 weeks at all but apparenty measuring spot on for my weeks!! so not going to worry everyone keep saying well its less to loose when you have the baby.. but i have serious bump envy i want a big bump!!!
has any one packe there bag or could we compile a list of whats needed as i havent got a clue!!!
any help would be greatly appriechated!!!
keep well every one xxxx

eenywifemum · 06/07/2006 14:17

SbowBoo I am thinking about you!! Hope all is going well. You know now if you go quiet & stop posting we are all going to be thinking you've gone and had your baby on us!! Of course you can stay in the August thread!! We are all a pretty good team I think.
