Imeg I'm so sorry to hear that. Is it a case where your DPs experience of the condition will help the baby to adapt or am I being ignorant?

Wonder77 · 23/09/2013 21:12

On a side note I'm eating pretzels in bed and feeling very violent towards the Isabella bloody Oliver models that keep appearing in pop- up ads what with their glamourousl bumps and no flab, stupid tarts. ( emotional, moi. Never).

Prambo · 23/09/2013 21:14

Imeg, I am sorry you are reeling from this news. I hope it's not as life-affecting as you have feared and that you find peace with the news. Thinking of you xx

Cassiopeia01 · 23/09/2013 21:14

Thinking of you Imeg x

Thanks for reassurance on breathlessness ladies! Can I just say that you lot are MUCH nicer and friendlier than the thread I joined earlier this yr before my mc? Really supportive and utterly hilarious.

Prambo · 23/09/2013 21:15

Fucking nuts aren't we, Cass?

Wonder, stupid tarts is exactly what they are

IceNoSlice · 23/09/2013 21:34

Wonder the JojoMamanBebe catalogue arrived today and I'm sitting in bed flicking through, feeling the exact same rage towards the models. On top of looking gorgeous with perfect bumps they just seem to wander round marinas all day and live in massive houses with grand staircases. Grr. Where's the one heaving herself out of the car? Or juggling a toddler, a laptop and a handbag? Eh? Eh? And calm.

Wonder77 · 23/09/2013 21:36

Thanks prambo !

Wonder77 · 23/09/2013 21:37

Hehe ice. Don't believe any of them are actually pregnant - pillows up their size 0 jumpers I reckon.

Prambo · 23/09/2013 21:38

Yeah! And where are the mogguls trying to force a big hairy shit out on the bog??

IceNoSlice · 23/09/2013 21:39

Imeg, would you be comfortable sharing what the condition is? I'd like to google it so I can have some idea what it is. I don't have a lot of experience of disability (except an aunt who has MS) and it makes me ashamed to be so ignorant of what other folks live with every day.

IceNoSlice · 23/09/2013 21:40

Prambo! Shock Grin

I get the sentiment, but what on earth is a moggul?

Cassiopeia01 · 23/09/2013 21:44

Wonder I bought an IO wrap dress on Sunday and was envisioning an IO figure and was somewhat disappointed by the reality of my reflection. Bastard skinny models. Bet they have been airbrushed too. Or maybe they just haven't eaten as many pies as I have. Curse their self-controlConfused

faithfulandtruthful · 23/09/2013 21:50

Good evening ladies,

When I have a busy weekend and don't have time to catch up you ladies are banned from chatting, it's taken AGES to catch up!

I have been getting breathless but I just assumed it was part of the deal, along with constantly feeling hungry but always feeling too full up to eat enough to satisfy me for more than half and hour (unless it is very unhealthy). Is anyone else getting really clumsy or is it just me, I tripped over my OH's feet after looking right at them and thinking I must not trip/step on them .

Imeg I am always astounded by the way children overcome their problems big or small. I am sure however your baby is effected by this condition they will still thrive and amaze you daily. Thinking of you x

Congrats to those who have had sexing scans. You lot will have to wait until my littleun is born to find out the gender of mine, someone said its something to push for, but I imagine I'll probably forget to even look/ask!!

I still have no idea what I am going to do about maternity leave as my boss is two weeks ahead of me, so will be going on maternity leave before me and therefore I probably won't even have a job (I'm a child carer) BUT I need to work for as long as possible before going on Mat leave. As for going back I have M.E. so I have no idea if I'll be fit enough to go back and even if I do feel well enough I'm going to have to find a new job.

F&T

PS Definitely don't feel ignorant if you have never heard of this - neither had the GP, the midwife or the sonographer!

IceNoSlice · 23/09/2013 22:04

Sorry if disability was the wrong word Imeg Blush. Tis very easy to get in a pickle. Thanks for the info, I'll look it up tomorrow.

HotCrossPun · 23/09/2013 22:04

Imeg Thinking of you. And please don't worry about depressing us. Talk as much (or as little) as you want. At least you and your husband have understanding and experience of this so you will know how best to help your little one deal with it, it must still be a big shock though.

Thanks
Pantomime · 23/09/2013 22:12

Imeg Flowers

karamcleod · 23/09/2013 22:29

I'm eating pickled mussels. There giving me the boke and look like little goblin vaginas :( can't stop eating them, there oddly satisfying? OH is staring at me in disbelief and disgust.

Coolhand · 23/09/2013 22:31

Sorry to hear that Imeg. It'll take some time to come to terms with the news but you already seem to be making those first steps. Hope you can find a peace about it x

PiratesMam · 23/09/2013 22:40

Imeg my lovely Thanks hand-holding here. Your husband sounds like he has dealt with the condition without it holding him back but from what you say it's the variation in presentation that is the big unknown. Please feel completely free to all about it with us, that's what we're here for. X
