pram I'm dying hahahahahahaha! We live on a farm, and we are trying to be more self sufficient, so we live off the land as much as possible.
And I really wish he'd smash me over the head and drag me to bed, I'm gagging for my hole...

And I was right!! Congrat Grey!

LyraSilvertongue · 23/09/2013 19:14

Yay! A BOY!! I'm so Envy Moosey! Are you chuffed? I can't believe Pirate's accuracy!

IceNoSlice · 23/09/2013 19:29

Evening all.

Congrats Grey!! Whoop whoop, so exciting.

Becca - ask the sender to resend it to you at her cost and to reclaim her double postage from Royal Mail. It was either her mistake for forgetting the postcode (which eBay do provide!) or the royal mail's fault. Either way, not your fault. And I would suggest that if she refuses you threaten to contact eBay and complain about her. And give negative feedback. That sort if behaviour from a seller is just not on.

Mat leave: I will be working as close to due date as I can. I have a (mainly) desk job and I'm hoping to work from home a bit towards the end. However beware that some employers are funny about you working in the last 4 weeks of pregnancy - technically my HR policy says I need a doc note to work past this point but my boss doesn't enforce this. I plan on taking 9 months mat leave. I took the full year the first time and I felt it was a bit too long - I was ready to go back to work at 9 mo. I do think less than 6mo (especially if working FT or 4 days in a demanding job) would be very tiring. But I know folks who've done it and survived to tell the tale Smile

Prambo what is your fridge cake recipe? I'm doing the online shop tonight and it sounds lush!

lumpylumps · 23/09/2013 19:33

Refrigerator cake this way please pram

Sorry, I'm rubbish at remembering who posted what but whoever hasn't had their 12 week scan, I was told with ds1 that if I was over 8 weeks at my 1st scan I wouldn't get a 12 week one.

I'm planning on starting ml 4 weeks before my edd but I'll tag a couple of weeks AlL on to that so will finish 6weeks before. I doubt I'll get that far tho. I never have done before. I struggle too much by 30weeks!

rescoonetwothree · 23/09/2013 19:34

pram i am actually, i guessed boy so i don't know if i was that shocked really! you should find out (devils advocate) Wink

Pantomime · 23/09/2013 19:35

Kara
I never got to meet my midwife, I had a stand in. My midwife was on nights. Have already gave them a ring and they are going to try and chase it up.

BWM
Yeah they said I would get one and asked if I wanted the screening for downs etc, I am just worried that it was never put through because the midwife I saw didn’t seem that interested. Rushed through a lot of bits.

Starting to wonder if my due date must me wrong if I am only at 14 weeks and some of you guys are at 20!

rescoonetwothree · 23/09/2013 19:41

panto we're not at 20 don't panic! we're getting early gender ones Grin

OP posts:
karamcleod · 23/09/2013 19:42

I don't think anyone is quite 20 weeks Panto you EDD might change mine has moved forward by 8 days.

Rockchick1984 · 23/09/2013 19:43

Panto no one is at 20, there's a few of us paying for private scans to find out gender (and check all is progressing as it should be).

Woo hoo Grey so happy for you!! Boys are awesome!

Can't remember what Pirates has predicted for me, will know tomorrow evening if she's still right on the mark!

Those of you worrying re mat leave - I planned on taking 9 months off. DS is now 2.5 and I've not gone back yet Grin

Cassiopeia01 · 23/09/2013 19:47

Congrats Grey! So exciting!

Panto - I am 13 weeks tomorrow so I know how you feelGrin.

Is anyone else getting very breathless? I was admitted to hospital a couple of weeks ago with a chest infection and don't know if it's cos of that or pregnancy related but I am panting like I have done a 5 mile run about 1 mile in to walking the dog. It's getting on my mams cos I need to exercise to keep my wright gain to the bare minimum and people are giving me the "my god you are do overweight and unfit that you are out of breath just getting out of the car" look. Or maybe I am just paranoid???

On subject of mat leave, I am taking 6 months and will then use some hols to do a staggered return. I am not looking forward to going down yo SMP. Will curb my spending habits so maybe not all bad Smile

BadlyWrittenPoem · 23/09/2013 19:54

Panto, I think for a March due date you would be roughly 13-18 weeks so 14 weeks definitely puts you in March.

karamcleod · 23/09/2013 19:58

I have been a little out of breath, OH thinks it might be to do with my lungs being squashed by bump, and I'm not concerned enough to bother to phone my bitch of a midwive.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 23/09/2013 19:58

Cassi breathlessness is totally normal at this stage. Your lung volume is increasing. I also feel outbid breath for no reason.

Don't panic Panto I'm 14 weeks!

BadlyWrittenPoem · 23/09/2013 20:01

Cass I have very slight breathlessness currently (but I'm not very active ATM because activity tires me out which makes the sickness worse and I want to stay well enough for DH to be able to work) but have had it pretty bad in other pregnancies (e.g. I had to rest four times between the hospital car park and the ward when I went for my scan at 18 weeks last time). Progesterone increases in pregnancy and can cause some breathlessness so it is a common symptom later in pregnancy and would exacerbate breathlessness caused by something else. Anaemia can also cause breathlessness (and was probably a key factor in mine) and is common in pregnancy so it's worth getting your haemoglobin levels checked if you're having problems (I did last pregnancy and I was anaemic). Also low blood pressure (common in early pregnancy) can cause breathlessness. It's definitely worth seeing your GP about it so that you can be checked for underlying causes other than "just pregnancy".

commsgirl · 23/09/2013 20:02

Just batched cooked a curry and a pasta sauce, made Bombay potatoes for DP, and all I could manage to eat was M&S mash and some baked beans. Grr.

So happy for you Grey :)

Cass I'm pretty breathless, struggling to walk and talk on the phone at the same time.

Coolhand · 23/09/2013 20:08

Congrats both Baldrick and Grey will be heading back to f/b to check those pics out again!

Anyone else find that the Chinese predictor chart gave a different answer when you put your conception date in and then your due date. I got girl, followed by boy. Tried out DS's date - got boy on conception date - girl on due date!

lumpylumps · 23/09/2013 20:12

I was really breathless a few weeks ago, even when I was resting. I'd really struggle to catch my breath and really had to keep calm to stop hyperventillating. It's not your bump yet, it's not big enough, it could be the fact that you're producing more relaxin and that affects all your muscles, including your diaphragm so your breathing isn't as effective or you could be anaemic.
