Here you go ladies

Thought I would treat you to a new thread as you lot are far too busy growing new people to do it Grin

cartoontrickster · 05/11/2013 12:17

boo are you that strange lady who walks up and down the street followed by a cat? Wink

I love hearing how k is doing and cannot believe you have a 16yr old too!
oh bless him maybe our westie hated fireworks, she would sit and bark though rather than quiver in the corner. looking forward to your scan news later!
well hv was ok, she was 20min late. seemed to like my crack den thoughGrin. as I thought she wanted to check I wasnt depressed or being battered by dh. she basically wanted to know how I felt about pregnancy and having a baby, if I had any concerns etc. I think I managed to convince her I'm not mental. she's coming back in a few wks though.

keepitgoing · 05/11/2013 13:40

I've not had a health visitor come to my house and check me out. i could be running anything here... I think it's good that they do that to check that you are ok.

2 hours till scan time! Grin

GreenOlives · 05/11/2013 14:05

Nearly scan time maybe! Grin

I'm brooking hard that you get the birth you want sweetie It does sound much more promising now which is good.

Great scan news stacks. December will soon be here and you can celebrate T's bday and DC2's scan!

solars Glad all is going well, tightenings sound like BH to me.

keep Good luck with the cooking/freezing - I did a few cottage pie/fish pie type things in extra large metal takeaway containers - they came in very handy!!

trix glad the hv was happy with your crack den! Wink Mine never came before I had T and I've only seen her twice in the last 8 months since I had him!

pen I hope you're managing to get some rest - looking after DS and being pregnant must be tough! Same applies to you stacks!

I'm sure I've forgotten people so sorry!

T was fine at nursery this morning I cried like a baby at leaving him though It was only a 2 hour taster, then another 2 hours tomorrow before a full day on Thursday! Sad Can't remember who asked but it feels really odd thinking about being back at work next week. I will be doing 30 hours which is less than before (will be 3 x 10 hour shifts, days and nights depending on rota) I'm worried about leaving T and not being around as much for M, but needs must! I am looking to getting my brain in gear again though - just wish it was for less hours!

GreenOlives · 05/11/2013 14:10

looking forward to getting my brain in gear! Grin

keepitgoing · 05/11/2013 14:27

Hi olives that's great that you can go back part time, although will doing shifts be tough to arrange childcare round? How old is T, a year? Gosh, I can't imagine leaving them I'm sure it's much harder for you that for him though.

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 05/11/2013 17:05

Olives good luck going back to work, I'm sure it will all be fine.

I have just got back from lunch with Geek, she's lovely :):)

NoMaybeAboutIt · 05/11/2013 17:26

Good luck Olives hope the next few days go well Smile

All well here, signed back to MW care and can have my water birth in the birthing unit!!!

Glad all went well with the HV Trix!

SweetieTime · 05/11/2013 20:11

Good luck with the next few days Olives I hope it all goes well.

Maybe excellent news on the scan front and getting the OK on water birth. Our pup doesn't like fireworks either despite being of gun dog breeds dependancy. 22kg of lapdog Grin poor you.

Trix glad you passed the HV snooping around your des-res. Did they ask out right about DH beating you or depression?

Boo well jel of your lunch with the down right lovely Geek

Solars sounds like BH to me too, not that I have had any. Are you doing too much or on your feet for too long? My MW said to rest up if I start getting them and have a bath & couple of paracetamol if they get bad.

Stacks great scan news for you too, time will wizz by to December. All the Christmas adverts are already on TV. Are you excited for T 1st birthday?

Keep I can not believe either of our bumps have grown in inches as mine seems bigger if not in girth. I think it is just longer now, it goes from right under my boobs where it is very full and seems to be more slender towards my pelvis. I looked back at some of my earlier weeks photos too and hardly look that preggo at 20 weeks too, even though I felt it at the time. I think perception just changes. I am sure you will ping back into shape, I think Spanx will be my friends.

It has been my last day in the office today, so working from home the rest of the week. I have a busy day tomorrow then winding down Thurs & Fri. I am definitely ready for it now. My feet were terrible today having sat at my desk most of the day the fluid has sunk down to the lowest point. Feet up all day for me I think.

Stacks · 05/11/2013 20:30

Congratulations on the good scan maybe, really glad you'll get to have your water birth and be in the birthing unit. It's what I wanted with T, unfortunately he had other ideas though :( of course fin will be much better behaved!

We're just on our way out to dinner for our anniversary. First time leaving T with a babysitter (DSIL), I'm a bit nervous, but he's a big boy now, and a good sleeper. Finally.

GreenOlives · 05/11/2013 20:38

Def feet up sweetie!
Fabulous news maybe! And a water birth would be lovely - I laboured in water with M and it was a great pain relief.
T will only be 8.5 months when I start back at work next week keep, we could only afford for me to have 9 months mat leave and I went off at 34 weeks as I was knackered!! So my last 4 weeks have been ann leave. Shift wise my employer has agreed to set days in the week and then a weekend day, so childcare is easier to arrange. When I rotate onto nights it will be harder but that's only one week a month!

GreenOlives · 05/11/2013 20:40

Ooh sounds lovely stacks, enjoy! Grin
And boo sounds like you had a lovely time with geek Grin

cartoontrickster · 06/11/2013 16:56

sweetie yes she pretty much asked out right. she made sure I understood about depression and post natal depression then handed me a sheet with 3 questions on that's ment to determine if I'm depressed or not. ill be shown them each time.
she checked I understood about domestic violence and that I can get help if I need it. I assured her dh is not like that! but I guess they all say that.
some times I felt like I was being tested on things and other times what she was asking seemed pointless but its nice they are checking up on me I guess.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 06/11/2013 21:29

Sort of feel like a test Trix! Glad all was well though.

Hope today was a little easier Olives

Hope you had a good evening Stacks

Two more days Sweetie!

ThedementedPenguin · 07/11/2013 12:04

maybe great news your scan went well. Hopefully fin (should the name not be changed) will cooperate and come on time when the pool is available.

sweetie one and a half ish days left and even better that your at home for them. Then it will lazy days, getting babies things ready, lunches with friends and lie ins.

trix glad things went well with hv. They all ask the same questions, after ds was born I had to fill in a questionnaire about 10 questions to determine if I was depressed.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 07/11/2013 13:55

Thanks Pen! It's not long now till your scan is it?!

cartoontrickster · 07/11/2013 14:25

bit quiet here!
so talk to me about gro bags, what tog do I need? do they have them instead of blankets in the pram too? do you have to wash them often?

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 07/11/2013 14:35

Morning again ladies, I will try to catch up (being a bad Brooker at the moment)

Maybe so pleased you had a good scan, and brilliant that you have been discharged to midwife care now.

Trix glad you passed muster Grin I had the questionnaire after having C, but not after K Hmm oh and I don't own a cat but have been known to lurk in bushes Grin

Sweetie so pleased you're done with the office now, just tomorrow to do and that's you on leave then? Let me know if you feel upto a meet up, but if not I will be more that happy to wait for double new baby snuggles when you feel up to it Wink

Keep how are you doing now you're on leave? Is your back ok

Pen glad to hear all is good with you :)

Has anyone seen Kitty?

K decided to sleep a bit better last night with was lovely, especially as we were up and out to meet Geek and Mr G for breakfast :)

OP posts:
NoMaybeAboutIt · 07/11/2013 17:11

Oh Boo I'm so jealous!! Of breakfast with Geek, not hiding in the bushes Wink

Trix as I understand it, 2.5 tog most of the year, and 1 tog when it's hot. Don't think I've ever seen anyone use one in a pram though, as I suppose their little arms would get cold outside?

I've just completely freaked MrM out by showing him a website. Essex placenta Grin.

keepitgoing · 07/11/2013 17:43

What is essex placenta? is that a dish? Bleurgh. Acutally we went through my birth plan the other day with the MW but she didn't talk about what to do with the placenta - what if i'd been keen on this?!...

I've had my parents come for a visit - hence the silence. But they left after lunch, and i've baked muffins and chilli con carne, had a nap with the cat, and now a cup of tea. It's ain't half bad, this maternity leave :) sweetie just one more day tomorrow - will you go in to get presents? I don't think i'll bother with spanx - i'm sure i'll just be in PJs for weeks... Oh I bought what I thought would be a lovely nursing dress the other day but it was rubbish when it arrived so i've sent it back. I would still like to buy something to make me feel yummy but am lost. You are glamorous - are you planning a treat for after the birth?

trix I don't know how they'd use a sleeping bag in a pram, as you couldn't put the straps between their legs? I think in a pram you'd have normal clothes and then blankets tucked in.

boo i'm also jealous you got to see geek twice! I'm ok thank you. Back is much better I think. probably from having a bed

So ladies, tomorrow I am officially at term Shock at 37 weeks. I actually still can't believe it and am just so grateful and happy. I also want to say thank you to you all for being there over the last 18 months since I joined up - it has been hard, but so much easier with your support. I am so happy that you are here, and heartbroken for those who are still having difficulties.

I don't actually feel like Kip will be here particularly soon though, but suspect that in a couple of weeks i will be starting to get rather fed up...

NoMaybeAboutIt · 07/11/2013 18:16

I am so happy for you lovely. I can't believe how quickly this seems to have come around!!

Sounds like you've had the perfect afternoon!! What muffins did you make? No, Essex placenta is a website that 'deals' with the placenta. I think the one that particularly tickled MrM was 'if you are wanting to have a smoothie, we will bring a brand new blender, a bag of frozen berries, a banana and some juice'. Mmmm Wink or they can turn it into a balm. Or tablets. With a keepsake cord trinket and colour photograph of the placenta. It's how we roll in Essex Wink

ThedementedPenguin · 07/11/2013 18:16

maybe nope not long at all. Its on the 20th so not too long to wait. I really can't wait.

trix ds wouldn't settle in a gro bag. We got bought loads but think we tried twice and he screamed the house down. So we got him a duvet and just used it. Although if they will use them, they are great.

Wished I lived closer to I could go out for breakfast or lunch with you lot. Maybe need to organise a meet up when I'm next over. Not sure when exactly it will be but I'll let you know. Smile

ThedementedPenguin · 07/11/2013 18:17

keep how exciting. Hopefully you'll not have to wait too long to meet kip

keepitgoing · 07/11/2013 18:23

oh god maybe that is hideous. I wonder how many people actually go for that?!

I am rather over-emotional right now.

The muffins are banana. They are good but not really banana-y enough. I think the bananas were not over-ripe enough. Oh well

cartoontrickster · 07/11/2013 18:59

I think I'm slowly getting my head around these gro bags! seems they do travel ones with holes for the straps to go through. I'm not especially keen on them personally but when you read about the safety reasons behind them, well its convinced me. i won't buy loads though incase treats is like pens dh.
sounds like your making the most of your mat leave keep muffins sound yummy.
I'm absolutely knackered today its ridiculous!
why do people feel the need to comment on bump size, 2 people have told me I'm not very big Hmm .

cartoontrickster · 07/11/2013 18:59

pens ds not dh! sorry Blush
