Here you go ladies

Thought I would treat you to a new thread as you lot are far too busy growing new people to do it Grin

Urgh - ignore them trix. You are a perfect size as is treats. I think some people say you're small because they think that's polite - as in you're not a huge fat heiffer.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 07/11/2013 19:21

Oh Trix you and treats are growing perfectly. Everyone carries differently. My mum still can't get over the fact that I'm 'still so small' cos apparently she was the size of a house by 12 weeks!!

It's weird Keep. And bloody expensive!! Well done one the muffins. Banana is just a fruit I can't get on with. Unless they're green and slightly crunchy!!

SweetieTime · 08/11/2013 08:41

Last day of work today - woooooooooo hoooooooooo GrinGrinGrin
Keep I am not going into the office, I went in on Tuesday but really struggling with my feet. So just have a couple of bits & bobs to finish up and that is me done.

Trix try not to worry about comments made by people, everyone carry their babies differently. As long as you and treats are doing well the size of the bump makes no difference. DH told me last night that my bump now looks like a space hopper up my top - not helpful. I have been told by the twins midwife that it is a very neat twin bump.

Maybe I am with you on the banana thing, I can not stand them. I think it is the texture and the noise they make when you are eating them. I am not surprised you feel sick if you have the Essex placenta thing going around your head, sound bleugh.

Trix I have a could of gro bags ready to go, donated by the lovely Boo, and also a couple of swaddling sets in case they are too small for the gro bags or don't take to them. I have a few cellular blankets that can be used in the cot or anyway really so am sure they won't go to waste.

Pen how is DS? Has his cold/virus come out now?

Keep I am looking forward to re-discovering my pre preggo wardrobe. I seem to have developed a preggo uniform (loose thin joggers, vest, loose top & gillet) that is the same sort of thing everyday. I hope I don't just swap preggo uniform for mummy wardrobe. The thing I miss most is knickers, I know this may sound daft but I have lived in the same 6 pairs of shorts style knicks (I think they were suggested by Sparks and they are very comfy) for about 6 months. I can not wait to treat myself to some nice new underwear.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 08/11/2013 09:16

Woohoo Sweetie!!!! What have you got planned for your first week off? Can I please have this knicker suggestion? I'm getting fed up of my knickers rolling off under my bump. They end up falling down, and it's most unlady like to keep hoiking them up Wink

cartoontrickster · 08/11/2013 09:28

yay for your last day of work sweetie!
now this swaddling business is another thing I'm not sure I entirely get? is it safer than sheets and blankets?
I guess I should be grateful people aren't thinking I look mahoosive already but it does throw a flash of doubt into your mind.
sweetie I can't wait for normal bras again! could be a while though. I also will be so happy when I can open the wardrobe and pull out anything that take my fancy (again could take a while!)
I think it doesnt help that I couldnt afford much in the way of a maternity wardrobe so have a couple of dresses, one pair of jeans, one pair of leggings and a couple of tops. I will see if I can wear 'normal' tights still at the weekend to make use of my dresses. I'm finding it hard to get stuff washed and dry in time now.
its strange to think that I am 30wks tomorrow Shock . I was suprised to read that 45% of women are still pregnant at 40wks, that's still a fair amount but I had thought it would be more. I have a feeling treats will be early or about on time, don't ask why though! perhaps its wishful thinking.
oh we are off to an nct sale tomorrow, any tips? not looking for anything in particular but thought there may be some bargains to be had.

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 08/11/2013 09:44

Sweetie, last day!!!! That's brilliant, so pleased for you. How often will you be seen by the midwifes these last few weeks, also when is your assessment being done to try and sort out the section?

Trix my tips for the sale would be padded ribs and sharp elbows Wink

Can't remember what else I read now, so I will let you tell me how you all are.

Maybe these are the knickers from ASDA 3 pairs for £6. They do different colours and they are VPL free as around the legs they aren't edged as such. I have them in a range of sizes but find them very comfy and they don't fall down.

Trix I think loose swaddling is ok, so not too tight around the hips & legs. You have to be a bit careful that baby doesn't get too hot but as we are having winter babies we should be fine unless you have your house very hot. I found my mat tights great, I had a pair from M&S and Mothercare, both were very good. I think they were £6 and well worth it if you wear skirts or dresses a lot.
I am with you on the wishful thinking of an early arrival. I think it is natural to think like that but they come when they are ready.

I would look for stuff that you can wash yourself at the NCT sale, such as baby bath, bouncer chair, new born size clothes. I think keep founds her a bit of a scrum but worth going to see if you can bag a bargain. I have had a few bits from facebook Mums selling groups, especially twins groups where they are selling 2 of the same things. Worth having a look if you are back on FB.

Boo mw wanted me to go back in 4 weeks, when I would be 36 weeks but I asked if it could be seen in 2 weeks instead. She agreed so this will be when I see the consultant again about mode of delivery. Although I might ring MW on Monday to chase up any progress she has made with phsyc appointment. I am just worried twins will be on their way naturally before a decision is made and this is probably what they are thinking too
BTW I had to pay my parking ticket, although they reduced it to £35 as a gesture of goodwill!!!
Your J looking all very grown up on the latest FB picture too, we could do with before and after pics to really see the change.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 08/11/2013 11:40

Thanks Sweetie you're a star. I need comfy pants in my life!! Really hope you get some good news re your psych appointment. Still can't believe they made you pay your ticket Angry

Agreeing with Sweetie Boo! He is so grown up!! He will be bringing girls home next...Wink

haha Boo how scary!

Hi everyone, not a lot to report from me, not too much to complain about. Still getting the Braxton Hicks, Sweetie I'm not doing anything more than normal but perhaps I need to start slowing down a bit I guess.

I have been ticking a few baby things off though but really need to get down to my SIL's to see what she has for me, hopefully that will be next week now. I just bought some stuff from Mama's & Papa's as they have a bit of a discount off some stuff on their website. By the way what ear thermometer does everyone recommend?

Everyone sounds like they are doing ok, which is good!

SweetieTime · 08/11/2013 13:46

Solars we haven't got a ear thermometer. I would ask on brookers fb as there are more Mums on there. I did this about monitors as they have more experience.

keepitgoing · 08/11/2013 13:53

Ear thermometer? Don't have one

But sweetie even if they do allow you a CS they wouldn't do that before 37 weeks would they? And you said 50% of twins are born pre 37 weeks, so there's a high chance you'd at least start things off naturally anyway.

Have been for newborn cuddles with an NCT lady. The baby is so big!! I can't imagine I have to push something like that out...

Most of my pants don't fit either. But am not expecting to go into sexy underwear anytime soon.

trix i've found the mat wardrobe a bit hard - I didn't need anything until like 22 weeks, and then not that long after you start thinking it's not worth it. I bought a few things for work and mostly have been in my sister's cast offs (which were designed for summer pregnancies!).

Swaddling - i bought one of those velcro things from asda as it was cute, but having read about the hips thing i wonder if it'll be too tight. Can always just use a normal blanket though. But i can't imagine it'd be too bad if it wasn't super tight and all the time.

I think it's ttime for my nap now

keepitgoing · 08/11/2013 13:55

ear thermometers v expensive?!

Munxx · 08/11/2013 14:03

Just popping in to see how you all are
On phone so forgive typing, teeny munx is feeding like a newborn again
We have the Braun thermometer was £26 in Costco
I lived in mothercare over the bump knickers, not glam but comfy I was enormous with dd but much neater second time round funnily enough
Hope everyone is well

keepitgoing · 08/11/2013 14:06

Over the bump knickers!! Shock

NoMaybeAboutIt · 08/11/2013 14:19

Keep, you forget, you're having a sneeze birth. Size is no obstacle. Fact.

Solars I have no idea about thermometers. You can even get ones that you just hold on the forehead now!

I saw some swaddle pods at the baby show. They looked far roomier than normal ones. I shall have to dig the leaflet out. Does anyone else find they've accumulated a load of baby related leaflets?

I'm adding to my mat wardrobe slowly but surely. I can sort of justify it as I figure I'm going to be in them for another 20 weeks pre birth. Then god knows how long after!! I've been buying dresses that aren't obviously maternity. Oh and Trix maternity rights are a must. Normal rights are so uncomfy on my tummy! Boots do them too

Solars · 08/11/2013 14:26

Thanks Munx yes everywhere I read it says Braun is the one to get. May try and get on FB over the weekend to ask the question, Sweetie which monitor find you get by the way?

New born snuggles are lush, Keep we had 6month old snuggles with niece at the weekend which was lovely, she took quite a shine to MrS which was sweet! Have a lovely nap Keep

My maternity wardrobe consists of, 1 party dress, 1 going out dress, 1 casual dress, 1 pair of skinny jeans, 1 pair of Capri pants and 1 t-shirt (which I haven't worn yet) I'm still wearing my normal long tunics, t-shirts and tights and jersey dresses at the moment as they still seem to fit ok. I've also got a 2year old roomy swing coat so really hoping I don't need a maternity coat. Hoping that I don't need anything else but we'll see how I big I get. Oh I have just bought some nursing pjs but they were only £12 from mama's and papa's - bargain.

Solars · 08/11/2013 14:28

Oh yes to the leaflets Maybe I've now got a whole box file dedicated to them!!

keepitgoing · 08/11/2013 15:25

My winter coat just, and I mean just, does up. I would try and not buy a coat, just wear old one with a scarf if you can't quite do it up

keepitgoing · 08/11/2013 15:26

Nursing pjs I just bought a size up from primark. Not so glam

NoMaybeAboutIt · 08/11/2013 15:35

Bloody love primark pjs.

I'm hoping not to need a new coat. I'm ok at the moment, but all my coats are really fitted, and I don't think I can manage the snow with an open coat Hmm

keepitgoing · 08/11/2013 15:38

Snow? Just don't go out! Not in your condition... Well if I had to get a coat then I wouldn't get a mat one, just a nonfitted normal one I guess.

God I love napping. I go for an hour almost exactly each time.

Solars · 08/11/2013 15:38

Yes I'm really hoping I don't need a coat Keep. We don't have a primark near us but I do really want some nice pjs to hang around in after the birth...

SweetieTime · 08/11/2013 16:08

I am just up from my nap too keep I have an hour on an afternoon too. Cannot wait for next week when it will be guilt free.

I have a thick poncho instead of a coat at the moment. I have a cheap Primark rain coat that I just manage to still get zipped for if it is wet. I am still in my M&S pjs, just pull the bottoms under my bump. Still cozy. I have also got by with very little proper maternity stuff. Some stuff was defo more useful than others.

Solars we went DH and his love of gadgets for a Motorola video monitor. It was the same one Sparks has too. We haven't tested it yet, although we might give it a go on the dog this weekend. Apparently you can move the lens thing so we could see each twin if we wanted to. I am not sure if it just a gimmick but Sparks says they like it.

keepitgoing · 08/11/2013 16:11

Snap, same video monitor here.

sweetie you're done!! Till Jan 2015 !!!!!
