Here you go ladies

Thought I would treat you to a new thread as you lot are far too busy growing new people to do it Grin

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
cartoontrickster · 04/11/2013 16:37

let's see what I can remember.......
not long at all then keep brooking kip doesn't take 5more wks. I realised on sat that the max I would have is 13wks I was a bit Shock . but when you realise thats 3months it sounds ages.
sorry about properly ds's stacks and pen
maybe you are having a tough time aren't you. hope you do get to speak to a doc at some point. after my doc finding a mummur on my heart I'm finally having my echocardiogram whatever it is on wed eve. I do find some times its hard to breathe especially if laying on my side. not sure if thats the same with you. I think your doing so well maybe id be in a right state if I was as poorly as you've been.
sweetie sorry they don't seem to be budging on your birth choice how frustrating! also hope your feet get better soon!
there's a lot if appointments this week! I've got the health visitor coming and my whooping cough jab tomorrow. now its November my diary is filling up with appointments! antenatal classes, mw, growth scans, hospital visit etc. busy busy.
we have been looking at cots this weekend but dh has discounted most we've seen for being too flimsy. dh is quite heavy handed and tends to break things so we need something tough! we both like cots made by boori. but not sure where we can look at them in rl. they seem to be online exclusive from john lewis. anyone else got their cot yet, what have you gone for?
we are fairly organised given we've got plenty of time left. its pretty much just nappies etc all the practical bits and my hospital bag essentials, all the fun lovely stuff is done pretty much.

keepitgoing · 04/11/2013 16:45

trix I think we got the baby weavers Jessica from kiddicare - it seems quite sturdy.

I'd say yes it does feel differentmaybe - crossing my legs is uncomfy, I'm weeing more, and some odd low down sensations. I thought he'd gone down.

SweetieTime · 04/11/2013 17:03

Maybe did you get booked in for another day with GP? Have the palpitations calmed down? Hope you are feeling a bit better.

Keep sounds like kip is heading in the right direction. How does MW know kip is on 90th percentile? Is it your bump that measures 90th percentile?
I was scanned and then measurements taken for head & stomach circumferences and femur length. Then they must have fancy equations that work out from these what the estimated weight might be. They also measure depth of fluid around each twin and blood flow through the umbilical cord. I am not sure how accurate this is but I suppose they have to have something.

Trix I always think x months sounds longer than x weeks. We got our cots from Homebase, I though they might be a bit flimsy cos they were cheap but they seem ok. I cannot see how you would break them to be honest. But it is nice to go look at different options if you get the chance.

I am not superstitious at all so Fri 13th wouldn't bother me. I don't suppose others will be able to choose as these things happen when they happen. Keep I was quite pleased that they have been looking into alternatives for me so I agree I don't think it is totally out of the question. All I need to do now is work out what encouraged GT to turn and do the same on the other side.
They wanted me to go back in 4 weeks but I asked if I could be seen again in 2 weeks and they were fine with this. I am not convinced I will still be preggo in 4 weeks so want to know if BT has turned.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 04/11/2013 17:17

13 weeks Trix!! That's crazy!! Where has the time gone?! You'll be in single figures before you know it Wink

Sweetie can I ask a stupid question? I always though that even if one twin was breech, it was a C section. Is this not right? I really hope you get the outcome you're hoping for. And how are your poor feet? I can't believe you and Keep are so close to meeting your babies!!

My surgery operates weirdly. You can only book appointments a week in advance, or call up on the day for a cancellation/emergency. But I'm at the hospital tomorrow anyway, but don't really want to mention it to consultant in case they don't sign me back to the MW. No palpitations at the moment. They just appear from nowhere!

Trix I feel like a proper moaning Minnie at the moment. But despite complaining, I really am loving being pregnant Grin

cartoontrickster · 04/11/2013 17:39

I know maybe its really 11 if treats is bang on time.
can't believe keep and sweetie are so close, 3 Brooking baby's soon to arrive!
keep thats a lovely cot, this again is something we seem to be making a whole lot more complicated than it needs to be due to our differing opinions and list of requirements. I also think that the reason some seem abit dodgy in the shops is because theyve been half heartily put together by some shop assistant and then get tested out every day by lots of customers droping down the sides etc. oh well we shall see going to look round some more I think its nice to see them first if poss and is nicer for the ils since they are buying it. however I think it will end up being an online purchase.
I'm in a right flap about this health visitor tomorrow. I'm such a clean freak and worse when I have visitors. it doesn't help that the ils stayed the weekend with their choc lab, now you all know I luffs a dog but good grief I've never known a dog malt so much there is still hair about the place even though I've cleaned. so will madly be hoovering again for the health visitor. dh is convinced I see dust and dirt no other human can. Christ knows how ill cope when treats is here and I have no time to clean!

SweetieTime · 04/11/2013 19:07

Maybe it is the position of twin 1 (the one lowest & nearest the natural exit) that determines mode of delivery. It doesn't really matter what twin 2 is doing as the path will have been cleared by the exit of twin 1. If twin 1 is head down, which he is, it is natural delivery. I think the only position for twin 2 which prevents natural delivery would be transverse, but they would hope it descends into a better position once twin 1 had vacated the space.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 04/11/2013 19:58

Wow Sweetie there's so much to think about isn't there. I really hope your consultant okays your ELCS. I really want you to have the birth you want.

Keep I hope Kip engaging doesn't make you too uncomfy.

Trix I feel your dog hair pain. Otis is finally coming to the end of his moult. It does my head in, he sheds his whole undercoat which is basically like cotton wool. It's like tumbleweed! But the most therapeutic thing to pull out if he sits still long enough!!

Stacks how did your scan go?

ThedementedPenguin · 04/11/2013 20:30

I'll never remember everything but I'll try my best Smile

sweetie I really hope bt becomes breech, not something I'd ever imagine saying to someone but if it gets you the delivery you want then I'll be brooking loads that bt shifts around.

maybe you would be safer mentioning it. It might not stop them from discharging you to the Midwives but at least you'll get seen and hopefully put your mind at rest. This is your 20 week scan tomorrow? Double checking the sex?

olives I bet that time has past quickly. Really hope your dc (can't remember if ds or dd) settles into nursery really well.

trix don't stress about your house, they really won't care. After ds was born I had the HV come to a houseful of people (family visiting) and the kids had wrecked the place. It wasn't dirty but it was messy.

keep hope you don't have to wait the full 5 weeks but it's good that you added the extra two weeks onto it. Means if kip comes on time you'll think it's earlier.

trix ds cotbed is from mamas&papas and it is so sturdy. No movement in it. So your Dh would have to jump in it to probably break it.

So Mw went well today. Bp is good, got to hear baby hb which was good and strong. Won't be back there until 34 weeks, which seems ages away. Don't get as many appointments this time.

Stacks · 04/11/2013 20:37

Just a quick reply from me as I'm exhausted. Had my scan tody and all was good. Baby measuring at 6+2, which is small for official dates but bang on when I think I ov'd, and where FF thought I did. Just got to be patient now and wait for the 12w scan to come around. December isn't that far off right?

keepitgoing · 04/11/2013 20:48

Well done stacks that's a relief. And pen lovely to hear the hb :)

maybe I agree, talk to the consultant! I don't suppose it'll stop them moving you back to mw care but you need to investigate. Puts foot down.

Yes sweetie twas just a fundal height measurement, which seems notoriously inaccurate. Lovely you got another scan!

trix you make me laugh, stressing about cleaning for the hv... Don't worry about it! And I'm sure you're right, you'll have to let it go once treats is here.

keepitgoing · 04/11/2013 20:51

Oh sweetie I just measured found my tum. 41" so quite similar. Mw today said 'oh you'll pop right back' hmmm. Looked at pre preg photos is v weird, and I don't think I look preggers at 20 weeks I now have a warped view of normal. Stretch marks still not appeared. You?

keepitgoing · 04/11/2013 20:54

This is a mystery. sweetie I just checked back and on 17/10 we measured our bumps round. I was 41, you 43. Same as now for both of us!! but I am way bigger. So are our bumps not growing out but up/down?! This is odd...

NoMaybeAboutIt · 04/11/2013 21:03

Woohoo Stacks! I'm so pleased!!

Keep you're totally right, as are you Pen. mrM would never let me get away with not mentioning it either Wink

Pen glad all went well at the MW. I never get bored of hearing the heartbeat!! Yes, we will be double checking sex tomorrow, but the private scan was so thorough that I don't think she will have changed Wink

Keep you're so lovely and slim, I think you'll spring back too. Though I'm sure that's not what's occupying your thoughts at the minute!! Did you manage to get all your maternity pay sorted?

cartoontrickster · 05/11/2013 07:51

stacks that's great and December will come round so fast!
keep I knew you'd laugh at me! Smile
thanks pen I've been told many a story about the hv coming round to all sorts of sights so I really have nothing to worry about.
its when I get nervous about someone coming to the house it makes me want to scrub the house to within an inch of its life. I'm scared that I will say the wrong thing and she will think I'm not coping.

Solars · 05/11/2013 08:30

Sweetie thanks and glad to hear all went well at the twins clinic and brooking that BT turns too. Wow I still can't believe it won't be long until you meet the 2 of them soon. Yes you're right about the swaddling so may still do it albeit loosely around the legs & hips.

Maybe yes indeed too much food in fact! What time is your scan?

Keep 90th percentile, wow!! So glad to hear all is going in the right direction.

Good luck with the health visitor today Trix

Great scan news Stacks it'll fly by to December now for you!

Pen great to hear all went well with the midwife appointment for you!

I've been getting a few tightening sensations around the bump, this is normal right? Can it be Braxton hicks or is still too early for that? They're not painful at all, I just feel the bump tighten and it don't last long.

cartoontrickster · 05/11/2013 08:57

solars I had bh's at around 24wks. my doc said that your uterus contracts from very early on you just don't necessarily feel it until later in the pregnancy. so I don't think its too soon for you to have them.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 05/11/2013 09:04

Morning all!

I'm glad you ate lots of nice things Solars. I remember going to a Hindu wedding when I was little. The food was amazing!!

Scan is at 3.40, then they booked the consultant at 4 Hmm. There's no way I will be done with the scan by 4, but never mind!

Trix the HV won't think you're not coping! I'm sure she is used to making people on edge. It's like when you walk past a cop, you try not to make eye contact as they make you feel nervous. Or is that just me? Grin

keepitgoing · 05/11/2013 09:17

solars I had bh from 20 weeks. It set sounds like that. At first I got them mostly from exertion or orgasm but now they just come all the blooming time. Only worry if they are painful, and regular.

maybe am sure the consultant won't be running to time anyway. We just saw a reg anyway, for 1 minute in the waiting room, who looked at my notes and scan and said 'discharge back to the community'. So don't expect you'll really see the big boss as you not really high risk, just ivf. But do mention the heart to the mw if you don't get a chance to the docs.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 05/11/2013 09:49

Ah, that's brilliant Keep! I'm hoping that's what will happen today. My MW pretty much said its just for the 'golden handshake'.

Starting to get a bit nervous about the scan now! I'm only working till 1 today, so need to to keep the brain focused for 3 more hours Grin

What have you got planned this week Keep? I hope it involves cake.

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 05/11/2013 10:09

Good mornin you chatty lot, I've tried reading back but there is so far to go Grin

Maybe did I see a scan for you today? Ooh lovely :)

Trix I think as long as you put away the meth lab and board up any broken windows, straighten up the mattresses and fridges in the garden, the health visitor will be fine Wink

Where is everyone else up to? Keep are you on leave now? That must be a relief, how is your back?

Sweetie is this your last week at work? Are those feet still giving you trouble?

Solars Pen Stacks Kitty how are you all doing, where are you all up to??

It's been really busy in Boo towers, K has a tooth, moved into her own room, sitting up and eating real people food in the last few weeks and has stopped sleeping though :( half term was super busy and now on to planning a few players group this and teen boo's 16 th birthday Shock

OP posts:
NoMaybeAboutIt · 05/11/2013 10:15

16 Boo Shock he is all grown up! What are you planning for him? Well done K apart from the non sleeping

Indeed lovely, a scan this afternoon. Fin has become the most active little thing in the last 24 hours. She is really going for it in there. For about an hour in bed last night, she was really kicking. Unfortunately MrM is on nights so he missed it Sad. Please remind me in 15 weeks how sentimental unused to be about the kicking. I'm fairly sure when she is massive and keeping me awake, I won't be this soppy Wink

keepitgoing · 05/11/2013 10:28

Ha ha maybe! It's not really the kicking that keeps me awake, I still love it. Plenty of time for mrmaybe to feel kicks and squirms.

Yes boo I'm on leave :) parents are coming for the night tomorrow, and planning to start my cooking marathon this week. Shame our freezer is quite small though.

Thinking of going to a fireworks display tonight, but mrkeep is worried I'll have to walk too far.

Cat is always wanting to sleep on my bump, but she's too heavy!

Oh maybe I am awaiting some things in the post re mat allowance, so no, not yet sorted grr.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 05/11/2013 10:56

Ooh, fireworks Keep. We can't go anymore, the poor pup has decided to develop a massive fear of them. On Saturday night, he was on the sofa, on my lap in my blanket shaking. He doesn't realise that at 22kg, he is not a lap dog.

Good luck on the cooking marathon. Such a good idea, that's what I'll be doing too when the time comes. That and freezing lots of cake for the inevitable visitors!

ThedementedPenguin · 05/11/2013 11:07

stacks great news about the scan. December isn't that far away. Your 12 week scan will be here in no time.

keep brooking you get no/very little stretch marks. I only got a couple of very small ones under my belly button last time so really hoping I'll get no more this time.

maybe it's great getting to hear the hb. Although it took her ages to find it. You could hear it in the background but she kept searching until we could hear it properly.

boo I'm good thanks. How's you?

keepitgoing · 05/11/2013 12:12

yes, cakes are on the to freeze list! a 22kg dog! Shock
