Thought I would treat you to a new thread as you lot are far too busy growing new people to do it Grin

keep poor you losing your purse in your garden, hormones don't help do they? Only one more working day left for you. I hope it whizzes by.

Solars glad the MW appointment went well, do you get to hear HB every time? When is the gender scan? Do either of you have a preference or just happy to know what you are having?

Trix some exercise is better than none, could you do it on your own once you know more what you are doing?

Feet are much better since the reflexologist worked her magic yesterday. She really had to work hard to reduce the fluid and then I had to drink loads to water to flush out the toxins. I know it sounds daft but I did seem to pee more last night and today rather the usual thimble full. So it obviously has made a difference. Will see what my blood pressure is doing tomorrow when I go back to MW.

On the names front we had sort of decided but as it gets closer we are having second thoughts. We are still set on the boy name but I am wavering on the girl name. We have a short list of 3 girls names but our favourite I am now not sure about and I am not sure the other 2 go as well with the boy name - DH doesn't get what I mean about the needs needing to go together. I would love to share but want it to be a surprise too. We haven't told anyone but would love another opinion even though it comes down to our decision. Naming a whole new person or people is so difficult.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 31/10/2013 17:34

Totally with you on the name front Sweetie and Keep we had names we liked, then the more I think about it, I'm not sure. It's such a massive responsibility giving them a name! I get what you mean about the names needing Togo together Sweetie. Glad you are feeling better after the reflexology. Brooking for tomorrow.

Keep are you feeling better now? Hope those cards come through quickly.

Solars when's your scan? Are you excited?!

Trix I would carry on with the yoga. I really enjoy mine. It's so chilled out and it gives me such a good stretch out. January is going to come round in no time!

Had a call with HR today about maternity leave. Things are beginning to feel so real now. Though I still cannot imagine having an actual real life baby!

Solars · 31/10/2013 17:45

Sweetie so pleased to hear the reflexologist did some magic! hoping that's done the trick and your hb also stays down. Yes I get to hear the hb every time which is really nice. Scan is on the 16th so about a couple of weeks, I have no preference on the gender but I think MrS would much prefer a boy. The scan is more for him I think so he can be mentally prepared for either gender when it arrives, men are funny things!! Maybe yes I am excited feels like ages since I've seen the little one! Not long to go for your 20 week scan now either! How time has flown?!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 31/10/2013 17:48

Time is massively speeding up Solars isn't it?! Not long till the 16th!!!

cartoontrickster · 31/10/2013 18:43

you are all of course right about yoga, I decided to go for excercise and to meet people and I will learn bits even from very few sessions I'm sure. good suggestion about doing some at home sweetie hopefully I will learn some positions so I can do that.
the name thing is really hard isn't it. I'm hoping to have a couple for each gender and then pick one once treats is born. on the one hand I want people's suggestions and reactions to names we like. but then other people tend to put you off names you otherwise love so maybe it is best kept private! my top girl name was Lilly but now I'm not sure.

cartoontrickster · 31/10/2013 18:44

glad you feet are little better sweetie

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooo · 31/10/2013 22:16

Evening, sorry having a really busy half term, trying to keep up with you all though. Just time to say Sweetie glad you have some relief for your feet, hope your bp stays down! (But not too far down)

Keep you daft thing, hope your cards come quickly.

Hiya everyone else, loving the name talk but may i offer some advice, don't tell anyone in rl your name choices unless you want an honest opinion which may not be what you want to hear tis much better to present people with a baby and say 'his name is ......' they're not going to say anything horrid about your choices then!

keepitgoing · 01/11/2013 09:02

sweetie glad things are a little better, and am brooking for a lower bp today. I get what you mean about the names going together, you couldn't have, say, a posh Mathilda, with a Kevin!

trix we too are planning a shortlist rather than a definite choice.

maybe in my overnight panic that we couldn't name him I decided it'd be ok to name him something I vaguely like, as it'd just become his name and couldn't matter. But yes, it feels like a lot of responsibility...

Will be back this afternoon once I am once again a lady of leisure

NoMaybeAboutIt · 01/11/2013 09:55

Happy last day of work Keep!!!

What times the mw Sweetie? Keeping everything crossed.

Boo, are you shattered?! What fun things have you been up to? I agree on not telling people. We had massive lists of names at first, and a few people we ran through them with completely tore them apart!! Our lists now are not for anyone else's eyes!! except maybe the brookers

Solars · 01/11/2013 10:35

Morning!

I agree with the not telling too Boo and I learnt my lesson the hard way, even before we were ttc and actually before we were married I happened to mention a few names I liked to mil and she shot them down like it was no tomorrow!

Keep yay! Last day!!

Brooking Sweetie

ThedementedPenguin · 01/11/2013 11:22

Hi everyone.

keep I can't believe it's your last day. Hope things a quiet for you.

sweetie it's great that your feet seem better. What time do you go for your BP check?

maybe with your work are you able to work from home?

I can't remember who asked I think it was maybe but I feel occasional flicks. I rented a doppler off eBay, so I've listened to baby's hb a couple of times. DS loves listening to it.

I've been having a tough few weeks as ds is sick but what ever is affecting him won't come out properly so there's nothing the doctor will do. He gets so so grumpy and clingy. Gets very frustrating as there's not much you can do.

Ill be 18 weeks tomorrow, can't believe how quick it's going. Have Mw on Monday and then won't be long until my scan.

How's everyone today?

ThedementedPenguin · 01/11/2013 11:26

Oh I forgot.

We aren't thinking names until we find out the sex. I found it so hard last time picking so would prefer to just think about one set of names.

Can't wait to start thinking of names, although I'm not sure if ill tell anyone. Although my family is great and won't say anything nasty or rude about potential names.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 01/11/2013 11:42

Sorry to hear DS is poorly Pen. Must be frustrating that he's not getting over it. That's great you're feeling kicks, it was Indeed me who asked!

Yes, all my work can be done from home. I have to pick up my GP letter today and send it off to HR, so that's something I don't need to worry about now!

Everything ok Sweetie?

SweetieTime · 01/11/2013 15:35

Pen 18 weeks already!!! Everyones pregnancy seems to be going so fast. Sorry DS is not well, I think this time of year is just a general germ-fest. Anyone who gets away without a bug of some description is doing well.

Maybe glad you can work from home for the foreseeable, that must make you feel much better. Are you still feeling sickly? You poor love it has been so hard for you.
Did you struggle with naming Otis? We had a bit of task naming our pooch but got there in the end, so I figure it will be the same for DTs.

Keep have you done yet? Are you back to being a lady who lunches?

I am with Boo on the naming thing as if you starting telling people before DC arrives it becomes a debate rather than a decision. I am happy to hear other people opinions up front but just don't share what names are on our actual short list. So far no-one has mentioned any of the names so I am thinking if we do tell there might be strong opinions, not that they are that out there.

Blood pressure was 130/70 but this MW (who wasn't dink MW) said they would only be conserned if the bottom number rose to 100 or above. So I feel they may have been a bit overly cautious. Got to listen to HBs which is always nice. She told me to notice movement more now and go straight for monitoring if frequency of movement changes or disappears as it may mean one twin is less happy as space becomes compromised. Am at twins clinic Monday for growth scanning so will see what they say.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 01/11/2013 15:57

That's brilliant news Sweetie!! My BP is always around the 130/70 mark, no matter what I do!! I'm so pleased you got to hear them too. What a relief.

Yes, I still feel sick a lot. But I'm used to it now if that makes sense? I think I've almost forgotten what it feel like not to be sick, so on days that I'm able to eat a little better, it's like magic!

We named Otis really easily. An Otis reading song came on the radio, and that was it!! And he suits it too. Cheeky chappy that will (hopefully) grow up into a refined, polite dog who am I kidding

keepitgoing · 01/11/2013 16:02

Am home in bed with a cuppa resting on my very handy bump :) :)

Good news sweetie, better that they are cautious.

I've said I'll go out with dh's work lot tonight, so had better have a nap.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 01/11/2013 16:39

Ah, brilliant Keep! Hope you have a good nap x

Stacks · 02/11/2013 13:42

Afternoon. Sorry I've been AWOL, just back from holiday visiting my family, and now have an ill DS. We're all exhausted too, DH and I were both in bed by 8 last night!

Just got my booking in and scan appointment. 18th Nov and 10th Dec respectively. The booking in letter says I should have the flu jab ASAP after booking in, however I've got an appointment to get it on Monday. Do you think it matters? I've got my early scan on Monday too, so I can always ask the people there.

Glad feet are a bit better sweetie and that your BP is ok.
Happy you've got something sorted with work maybe. Sounds like you've got a great dr there.

I agree with everyone on the names - keep them secret. We had problems with people liking them just as much as hating them. "Oh, this is definately the best name on your list". My mum decided what name DS should have before he was born, and called my bump it for the next 3 months. We didn't call him that name just because we didn't want to reward her cheek.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 02/11/2013 14:35

Lovely to have you back Stacks! Sorry DS is poorly. Hope he gets better soon.

I wouldn't worry about having the jab first, I can't see it making much difference.

SweetieTime · 03/11/2013 14:31

Stacks sorry DS has been poorly, hope he is on the road to recovery now. I won't worry about the timing of flu jab, I think it is better to have it sooner than later. Hope the scan goes well tomorrow too.

Keep how did you night out go?

We went to the theatre on Friday evening but it was so hot that my feet were a nightmare. There were tears when we got home, DH rubbed cream in them to try ease the tightness. I am going to ask at twins clinic if there is anything else I can do.
DH has told me he is worried about bonding with DTs, I have told him not to worry as it might take a while until they are interacting more, smiling when they recognise use etc. Did anyones elses DH have this fear and how long until they actually bonded with DC?

keepitgoing · 03/11/2013 15:04

Night out was bad... Too hot, noisy, nowhere to sit and I went home early. Ah well. Have had mil to stay but she's gone now phew unfortunately we have found that some of the stuff in the garage has gone mouldy so now scrubbing and washing the pram. Sigh.

stacks they prob just say to have your flu jab after booking in so as you're 'officially' pregnant. Not everyone is entitled to them for free. But if you are having one anyway I can see no issue. Good luck for the scan, though you won't see much, are you 6weeks? I am seeing the mw tomorrow

sweetie I do wonder if it'd be harder to bond with twins actually. I know my dh basically thinks babies ate quite boring until they interact more, but he reckons it'll be different with ours. I reckon it'll all be so overwhelming. I actually feel quite bonded to kip already, but I know its different for men. My sil told me last night her bf is having triplets! Had ivf for dc1 and put 2 back. Thought she's older so put back 3 for dc2 thinking they might get twins and all took. She's still in shock at 28 weeks and will have to have them soon... I'm so sorry your feet are so painful. Hope they have some answers.

keepitgoing · 03/11/2013 15:05

I decided to take off my rings again. They're a bit tight and dh scared me if I have to have a cs and they couldn't get them off they'd cut them :(

SweetieTime · 03/11/2013 15:15

Keep I am not going out again it just isn't worth it. I know what you mean totally.
My DH is scared of newborns but I am sure he will be more confident with ours as he will have to be. I think it might be a gradual thing for both of us, we have been warned at the TAMBA sessions. I am so looking forward to meeting them.
Triplets OMG, that will be tough especially with an older DC. I think 32 weeks is considered term with triplets.
I took my proper rings off weeks ago and bought a cheap ring in a bigger size as I felt very naked without any and don't care if it has to be cut off.

Stacks · 03/11/2013 15:49

DH was worried about bonding with DS, and also quite scared of everything to do with babies. He's not been around them at all - DS is the first baby in their family for 20 years, and the first among our friends.
However, DH cried when DS was born, and has been absolutely smitten with him ever since. If I'm honest, more so than me really. I found I was thinking of everything in a very practical way, plus how cute babies are. DH was totally amazed, in love and fiercely protective from the first couple of minutes. He says things to me now like "I think I might love DS more than you, that's ok right? Do you forgive me?"

ThedementedPenguin · 03/11/2013 17:15

stacks your DH sounds great, like he took to it well.

I was worried about DP when I was due with ds. He had little cousin but typical man wasn't in any way interested. So it was a shock to him when ds came along. However he has been great, really tried his best from the start. Straight into nappy changes, feeding he was great.

stacks hope your ds is feeling better.

How's everyone? Nice weekend?
