Here you go ladies

Thought I would treat you to a new thread as you lot are far too busy growing new people to do it Grin

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
keepitgoing · 29/10/2013 21:32

Just felt hiccups for the first time :)
Driving is v uncomfy now though - bring on Friday...

maybe is work ok?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 29/10/2013 21:38

Oh Keep! Amazing!!

Work is ok. I think. I'm struggling a bit, but its alright. I went back to my amazing GP today. She is writing to work to tell them I'm to work at home. She wanted to sign me off until mat leave, but she said working from home is ok as long as I take regular breaks and don't push myself. Have to go for bloods tomorrow as she thinks I may be anaemic too.

keepitgoing · 29/10/2013 21:54

I think its late to feel them.

I'd think sign off till ML a bit ott, you have ages. Part time easy work is probably good for you to keep busy. Wouldn't be surprised if you're anaemic, you've hardly been eati! ng
Maybe sorting that would give you poor energy.

Ah finella, you're a demanding little girl. But will be so worth it x

NoMaybeAboutIt · 29/10/2013 22:21

I wish it was easy Keep, but they are crazy busy tab the moment. I'd love to do part time, but need the money. I'm sure it will be ok though.

She will indeed be worth it Smile. I'm so excited for your impending sneeze!x

Solars · 29/10/2013 22:22

Evening lovelies!

Trix so good to hear treats is doing well.

Keep you must be counting the hours down now?! So cute that you can feel hiccups!

Sweetie you never know about talking to your gp about elcs as they may be able to go straight to your pct or whatever they're called now. I don't know if you recall but when we were told by the first clinic we weren't eligible for ivf due to my age I then spoke to my gp who was great in finding another clinic who would give us a shot. Hope you're doing ok.

Maybe sorry work is still a struggle for you. I have to admit since I've been taking my iron tablets I've had a lot more energy. I also need to get my levels retested next week.

Not much going on here, I have my midwife appointment on Thursday, my belly button has almost disappeared and merged with the rest of my belly and we're slowly sorting our 2nd bedroom out. My SIL has a whole load of stuff for me so hopefully I'm going to check all that out in a couple of weeks which I think will set us up quite a bit from the off.

keepitgoing · 30/10/2013 09:01

But maybe you can't work too hard or it'll be counter-productive and you'll have a set back.

Hi solars great that you're getting lots of second hand stuff too - it could cost an absolute fortune otherwise, couldn't it? My belly button is now out and proud. And my line has now extended above it, though is not very dark.

Argh maybe don't talk about the impending sneeze. It's weird that it could be any time really. A lady at work yesterday said she had her first at 36 weeks... Most people seem to think first babies tend to be late though. Every time I think of the whole birth thing I get a bit overemotional ie start crying

sweetie you're just working till the end of next week aren't you? Woo hoo!

Doesn't someone have their 20 week scan coming up?

And where the flip is kitty? Do you have the 12 weeker coming up shortly? Hope you're doing ok.

Brooking that beedle will be here to join us next week.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 30/10/2013 09:19

I was thinking the same Keep, where is Kitty?

You'll labour amazingly. I just know it. I get emotional when I try and imagine having a baby. It sounds odd, but I still can't picture myself with an actual baby.

Solars that's great news about all the bits you've been given. We don't really have anyone to give us anything so we have bought it all instead Blush

My 20 week scan is next Tuesday Keep. Fingers crossed all will be well.

Am feeling al much movement now. Even though the kicks are like flicks, I feel them a lot. MrM felt his first one at the weekend. He was chuffed to bits Halloween Grin

keepitgoing · 30/10/2013 09:57

ooh next Tuesday maybe that's exciting! Let them double check that Finella is a girl, and it was a great scan as they do it all in so much detail and you get to look at them for ages. I absolutely LOVE feeling movement, even now it's a bit uncomfortable at times. So pleased that MrM has now felt it as well. I think it's harder for things to seem real for the boys.

I'm not really nervous about the labour, just emotional about actually having a baby. I find it so weird to think that there is an actual baby in there, who would be fine now on the outside too. What does s/he look like? Eek.

I'm seeing the MW on monday, so we'll see if Kip is at all engaged. I feel like maybe yes, because I have been more uncomfy when driving.

SweetieTime · 30/10/2013 10:29

Solars lovely to hear from you, thanks for the advice about seeing GP I had forgotten your success story. My GPs have been great throughout the whole TTC and pregnancy ignores dink MW as she is nice enough just a bit clueless Well done with all the baby items you are gathering, does it all feel a bit more real yet?

Maybe time seems to go faster post 20 week scan. You will be snuggling your bubba before you know it. You should see if there are any NCT sales near you or FB groups for baby stuff as it will save you a fortune. If you think of the things you would be willing to have as second hand and go for just those. There are loads of stuff that washes such as bouncer chairs, baby bathes etc.

Does kitty still hang out on the TTC thread? I don't even lurk on there at the moment, maybe when I have more time when on mat leave.

kitty come back we need all the 12 week gossip.

Keep yes due to finish next Fri, I am so ready for it. I have a meeting yesterday with HR and my line manager to discuss all the formal stuff. I have worked here for 12 years and that is my first ever meeting with a real HR person. Do you think Kip might make an early arrival? It is an emotional time, I know what you mean about wanting to meet him/her. I cannot wait to see what they look like either, I know they won't look like me but I am still desperate to see them.

I have a MW appointment this afternoon to look at my massive swollen feet and I have a reflexology session later too so am hoping she will work her magic.
My Mum rang her friend who used to work as a well woman nurse to ask about my feet. She also has a daughter who has twins, she suffered same with her feet. Hers just swelled up overnight at 28 weeks and never went back down. She had her twins at 33 weeks, 6lb and 6lb1. Cannot believe such good weights for 33 week twins. Apparently she just sneezed them out, although that could be my Mum telling me that to make me feel better Hmm

keepitgoing · 30/10/2013 10:45

did HR have anything useful to say sweetie? Hope the reflexology works well on the feet. i bet people will tell you that the twins look like you Grin it's just what people say, and as babies i always think they just look like babies. No, I don't really think Kip'll be early - hoping for a few days early. But you just never know. That's brilliant weights for 33 weeks - I think that's what singletons normally weigh at 36!

I second the NCT sales maybe. You really don't need to buy everything new unless you have already you're so organised and some things you'll use for such a short time. Plus some babies don't like some things - eg bouncers, or whatever. We bought so much stuff there, even things like sheets and blankets. But newborn clothes too - some babies never even fit in them, so don't buy too many seems to be the rule.

Am awaiting delivery of a breastfeeding dress. Whatever that means (i think you can whip your boobs out through some magic flaps!). Felt like treating myself.

Just got my physio appoitnment through for a week today. I'll be almost 37 weeks, but hey ho it might still be helpful.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 30/10/2013 11:48

Good luck at the MW Sweetie, fingers cross the reflexology works its magic!!

Keep I don't believe I have a baby in there either! It's such a weird concept when you think about it

Thanks for the NCT sale advice. There isn't one here until after finella is due. I felt to rough to brave the last one alone. We don't have too many newborn clothes, as I have a feeling we won't have a tiny baby. So we opted for mostly 0-3 month ones. Sil is getting us a bouncy chair, and the inlaws are getting the cot, so we don't really need much more of the big stuff. I just find it fascinating how much stuff there actually is for babies! There is a gadget for everything! I figure we will learn as we go along and use all the advice from the brookers

I'm so tired. I've walked nearly 5 miles to get my bloods taken. There would've been no point cabbing it, it would've cost a fortune as loads of the roads here are shut due to the storm damage blowing roofs away. Going to have a cheeky rest before opening the lap top.

All the time I was out, no movement. Then as soon as I stop, she has a party! Can't wait for the 20 week scan. An a bit nervous, but at the gender scan, she had a quick check and said everything seemed normal, so that's good. Most definitely having a sex check Keep! We are going to pretend we don't know so that she has to have a proper look Halloween Wink

keepitgoing · 30/10/2013 18:05

How did mw go sweetie?

SweetieTime · 30/10/2013 18:42

Unfortunately blood pressure has gone up and they are worried that my feet arent going down. So I have to go back Friday for them to test it all again. I have a hospital appointment on Monday at twins clinic but they didn't want to leave me over the weekend.

GenericDietCola · 30/10/2013 19:13

Brooking for you Sweetie.

keepitgoing · 30/10/2013 20:10

Me too. Rest up x

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooo · 30/10/2013 22:19

brooking that you'll be just fine. Like the others said, rest up, let Mr S take over and hope your bp goes back to normal Thanks

NoMaybeAboutIt · 30/10/2013 22:28

Also brooking for you like mad Sweetie. Fingers crossed the BP was just a blip. You rest up lovely x

keepitgoing · 31/10/2013 10:27

how are you feeling this morning sweetie? not too worried, I hope. They are obviously keeping a good eye on you. Hope work are being ok about it all, and that you're not going in. It's only 1 more week anyway.

Could really do with going back to bed, but just finishing off my work today and tomorrow morning! Yay! This was the weekend I had planned a surprise trip away (close by though) for DH. Now his mother and brother are coming to stay instead. Ah well, we might just squeeze in a night away another weekend.

keepitgoing · 31/10/2013 12:04

oh my god i'm insane. Went out to get milk. Bought milk, Came home. Couldn't ifnd wallet, so retraced route thinking i must have dropped it. Couldn't find it. Phoned up three card companies to cancel. Cried. Went out again. Found wallet in front garden grass. Cried some more.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 31/10/2013 12:17

Oh Keep lovely. Sit down, feet up and have a cuppa with the milk you bought. You poor thing.

Hope you're ok Sweetie, thinking of you x

keepitgoing · 31/10/2013 13:05

Thanks, have had lunch and pulled self together...

cartoontrickster · 31/10/2013 15:08

oh keep its bot funny I know, its just it sounds like something I would do!
sweetie sorry your no better, but I'm glad they are keeping an eye on you.
maybe did you ask my due date? its 18th Jan.
how are you all coming along with names? we are struggling to agree on any! lucky we still have loads if time.
I finally started yoya saturday just gone and did enjoy it. nothing to taxing bit I was glad because I've never done yoga there was only 5 of us there though! annoyingly there is no class this week she goes to a teaching course thing every 4wks or so. I've counted up the times there is a class between now and Xmas and its 5, one is a couples class I cannot persuade dh to come so ill be missing that. thats 4 classes! the timetable gives no indication of when they start up again after Xmas I'm slightly wondering if there's much point. I can't see it being more than 6 classes total for me but I guess i will at least be getting exercise!

keepitgoing · 31/10/2013 16:37

It's ok, its funny really...

I'd still go trix - 5 classes are better than nothing.

Names? Dh thinks we are ok but I'm not happy with boy names. Maybe I'll set some time aside next week to just.... think.... Argh.

Solars · 31/10/2013 16:59

Oh Sweetie brooking for you! I hope you're ok.

Oh dear Keep did you manage to un cancel your cards?

Trix I would still go even if it's just 5 weeks, I've learnt some good breathing techniques and positions to help when going through contractions.

We still haven't really talked about names in detail yet as I think we're waiting for our scan to find out gender, although every now and again one of us will say "what about this....?"

Midwife appointment went well, all ok.

Oh yes Maybe I did read somewhere that the walking motion can rock the baby to sleep, perhaps that's why finella wasn't moving much! When do you get your results back for your bloods?

keepitgoing · 31/10/2013 17:12

Yes, kip moves much more when I'm trying to rest. Plus, at that size movement is harder to notice when you're moving.

Nope solars you can't uncancel... Just have to await new ones.
