Here you go ladies

Thought I would treat you to a new thread as you lot are far too busy growing new people to do it Grin

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SweetieTime · 26/10/2013 09:43

Thanks for your support ladies, I know I am going to have to get my head around all the options. Keep I have already highlighted physiological issues and they say this is not considered a medical reason. If I give the slightest indication that I would be willing to go down the natural route they will jump on it and that will be it.
Solars I have spoken to the birth matters midwife so I suppose they would consider that the appropriate support person and although she was understanding she was still on the Trust side. There is nowhere private locally either as I have already checked this out.
So I will just have to try to chill out and wait until I see the consultant and then I might have to get my GP involved although I am not sure a GP will over rule a hospital consultant.

Pen my feet are still very fat, they are worse by evening. They don't hurt but just look unsightly. I am not sure there is much else I can do about them. My Mum has leant my some ballet flats which I can get on so they will tide me over I hope.
17 weeks already!!! Time flying now. Glad you got to hear the babies heartbeat. There are loads of Brookers who use slings so I am sure Boo and Sparks will be along to advice.

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 27/10/2013 06:39

Sweetie as far as I know if the consultant refuses an elcs then they should then refer you to someone at the same hospital who will do it instead? Is twin one head down?

Why do you want one though? Having had 2 myself (cat 1 emcs under ga, second was elcs) the recovery isn't a walk in the park, never mind if you have 2 babies to look after too. Will you have much support for the first 6 weeks after? (You can't lift anything heavier than the baby and my insurer said I couldn't drive until the doctors check at 6 weeks. The law says you can drive but my insurer doesn't...

SweetieTime · 27/10/2013 08:08

Loopy both twins are head down. I know recovery isnt easy but DH will be off for 4 weeks then my parents live 10 mins walk away so I would have loads of support. I am just so scared of a natural birth. The unknown of the situation, that something would go wrong ending up losing babies. I know friends who have had terrible natural births with loads of complications. Hospital tells you these are rare but I am not so sure.

I know the twins have to be delivered one way or another so I have to get over this but it is on my mind all the time now.

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooo · 27/10/2013 08:24

Sweetie I wish there something I could say to help, but you have genuine fears. Are you still under dink midwife? Can they not help or do they just keep quoting the Trust policy? {{{{{Hugs}}}}} for you Thanks

keepitgoing · 27/10/2013 08:50

Maybe try the opposite of all the things they normally tell you to try to get babies head down...

I'm so sorry you're so worried. What does dh think?

SweetieTime · 27/10/2013 18:42

Boo I have a twins midwife at the hospital. actually dink midwife at GPs is supportive but not much she cab do as it is hospital consultant decision.
keep DH is supportive of what I want but I think this is because it will be me going through it not him. I think he is walking on egg shells a bit as I think he thinks we should go with the consultant recommendation but hasnt said as much as I would feel he should be supporting me.
It is a nightmare. Let's have no more mention of it as I have to deal with it and it comes down to the decision of the consultants.

Hope everyone is prepared for the approaching storm. we have just moved our garden furniture inside just in case.

keepitgoing · 28/10/2013 10:02

morning ladies, what a quiet weekend! Hope that means that you were all off having fun. sweetie any update on the feet or are they just the same? Have you conisdered wearing those special socks for airlines, the compression ones? When do you have to go back for another check?

So, this is my last week at work - I have just agreed to start one more (short) project tomorrow; think I'm a bit mad but hey ho. If I don't finish I just hand it back where I've got to. I have enormously complicated tax and mat allowance stuff to sort, and when I tried to understand it all yesterday i felt like crying, so i'm just going to call them this morning.....

NoMaybeAboutIt · 28/10/2013 11:47

Hello all, sorry for being absent of late. Have been a miserable cow Halloween Wink

How are you getting on Sweetie? In so sorry you are so concerned about the birth. I hope they sort something out for you x

Keep 4.5 more days to go! Hurrah! How did you get on with the mat allowance? I have to tackle this soon and have no idea how to go about it.

Did you make any purchases at the show Solars?

We got hit by the storm fairly hard this morning. Lots of trees down and no train links either. No long last damage as far as I can tell though!

cartoontrickster · 28/10/2013 12:01

hi all.
well I have a fence to fix Angry not that we can afford it.
as a preggo where do I stand on reheating food? or making meals and freezing half. dh is on a diet so usually I am cooking just for myself. is chicken dodgey the next day? are there any foods I can't freeze? I froze half a jar of curry sauce the other day will that be ok?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 28/10/2013 12:04

I reheat food all the time Trix, including chicken. as long as its piping hot, it will be fine. I freeze food I've already cooked, I'm not surge about freezing jarred sauces, as I make my own. Can't really see it being a problem though!

That's rubbish about the fence Sad

keepitgoing · 28/10/2013 12:19

trix i'm sure freezing a jar of sauce is fine. I've been making large portions recently, and freezing half, so the freezer is already filling up for when we have no time or energy to cook. I would keep most food I'd cooked for a few days in the fridge without worrying about it. I know people are funny about rice, but in Thailand all fried rice is made from cold rice, and they seem ok. Sorry about the fence. Worth claiming on insurance?

maybe i seem to now be registering as self employed, then I have to pay NI, then I can apply for MA. Yours should hopefully be simple as you've been employed, you just need to send them your payslips I think. You can start it up to i think 11 weeks before the birth, for up to 39 weeks. Don't suppose mine'll even be sorted by the time i'm due... Argh. You are very organised compared to me - I think i should have done this a while back but it was too hard so I stopped......

I have lots of cake ingredients coming on my online shopping tonight. Yesterday I felt like baking but without enough butter or eggs I gave up, and couldn't be bothered to walk to the shops. Am thinking of a lemon drizzle cake.

DH gave our tickets away in the end for Friday. So I'm hoping now he will have some good will from the colelague he gave them to, and be able to come home early another day instead.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 28/10/2013 12:42

I'm sorry you had to give away your tickets Keep. Fingers crossed MrK gets an early home time soon.

Lemon drizzle sounds amazing. One of my favourites! Glad you're finally getting somewhere with the mat allowance. What a nightmare that all sounds. I'm not going to start claiming mine till after I'm due, as I want to be off as long as possible afterwards.

cartoontrickster · 28/10/2013 13:16

thanks keep and maybe usually I don't worry and do even reheat rice even though dh is dead against it. I've never been ill from it so can't see the problem. just wasn't sure if its different whilest pregnant.
annoyingly the fence isn't covered on the insurance we phoned to check. its completely not up anymore.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 28/10/2013 13:20

What a nightmare Trix. I also use left over rice, so I wouldn't worry. It's so much easier than cooking from scratch every night!

SweetieTime · 28/10/2013 15:59

Trix we use those frozen rice bags that you bung in the microwave so I am sure they must be already cooked then frozen. I know rice can be a bit dodgy but if you let it cool before it goes in the fridge/freezer it should be fine.
Sorry about the fence, it sounds completely destroyed. We were lucky here that in never really came this far North. Hope you can get it fixed up soon.

Keep lemon drizzle cake is my favourite along with battenburg and carrot cake I have never attempted to bake it myself but I bet it makes the house smell lovely. Shall I get my coat on and pop around for a slice???

Maybe how are you? apart from a miserable cow - which I am sure you aren't

Feet still massive. I have given up on them and resigned myself to this is how they will be now for the next 6 weeks until twins pop!!! OMG only 6 weeks to go.

I have a meeting tomorrow with HR to discuss going back to work, I haven't even left yet. I have worked it out and think it might be around mid to late Jan 2015. Sounds a long way off but I am sure it will be here before I know it.
I also had a letter today from a health visitor wanting to do a home visit come around and snoop, will have to hide the mad dog it says she wants to meet DH if possible too. Keep have you had one of these yet? It is later in Nov when I am 34 weeks, I am sure it is just a standard thing. DH will be delighted, I might get some cake in specially.

keepitgoing · 28/10/2013 16:43

Jan 2015, sweetie that seems like forever!! Amazing! We haven't seen any health visitors. But mw did do the booking appt at my house, so guess she got a nosy then. Dh wasn't there though. Maybe you flag up as dodgy somehow Grin

keepitgoing · 28/10/2013 16:44

Would love to have you all round for cake!

SweetieTime · 28/10/2013 17:09

Tis very rough around here keep she will be lucky to have wheels left on her car following the visit WinkGrin
I wonder if different councils are trying to be a bit more aware of kids at risk with the recent children that have died at home. We are next to Bradford so it might be a bit close to home with that little boy that died there Sad

On a lighter note my Mum has just dropped off a home made apple crumble, she must have heard my pleads for baking!!!!

Bumpiemalumpie · 28/10/2013 19:28

Hello all,

Hope we are all OK and getting excited now the wind has died down not my personal wind that is a permanent fixture

sweet I got a letter like that today, they have 'arranged' an appointment to come and visit and snoop around. sadly, I am a child protection social worker so know all the tricks to make my house seem presenable and will be doing this the night before. I am going to reschedule however as she has booked it during the day on a wednesday, not practical and also three months prior to my due date!!

stacks how did you find the baby show? I came away with two packs of free nappies, size 4 so um not going to be used until about this time next year, five packs of wipes, a mini sudacream and many other lovely freebies, however, I did not think the deals were that good and I took my spreadsheet so I know what deals I can get online I did try on some slings however and am concerned about the faffyness of the ones that are just long pieces of material and you have to create an origami type structure. Has anyone tried the Babsling? I really liked it when I tried it on.

cartoontrickster · 28/10/2013 20:03

the fence has snapped off the posts or something like that so I think it will be a whole new one rather than a fix up job.
I have the health visitor coming next wk! she phoned to arrange said it was because of my miscarriages. no mention of wanting to see dh though.
I had a growth scan and consultant appointment this afternoon. all was well. treats looks very big on the screen! everythings coming along well, looking nicely average Grin weighing in at around 2lbs 8oz (although how they work that out I don't know)

cartoontrickster · 28/10/2013 20:07

2lb 9oz actually we worked it out wrong Blush .

keepitgoing · 29/10/2013 07:19

Aw treats is so big now!! :) remind me why you had a growth scan?

SweetieTime · 29/10/2013 07:59

Trix that is a fab weight for Treats. You must be really pleased.

cartoontrickster · 29/10/2013 09:13

yes we are really pleased!
keep they are just keeping an eye on us because of the Mc's im having 2 more growth scans, one 25th Nov and the last 23rd Dec.
