Here you go ladies

Thought I would treat you to a new thread as you lot are far too busy growing new people to do it Grin

Keep aren't you supposed to be winding down not getting busier? Only 7 days until the big rest, so what do you plan on doing?
My thing is red grapes at the moment, like you I am happy it is something healthy that I am craving.
I know twins are getting stronger as it feels like they are trying to escape through the front of my tummy most of the time, they squirm a lot. Is Kip still very active?

Well I am back, blood pressure is ok and no protein in my pee which are the big worries but feet and lower legs still massively swollen. They still want to keep close eye on me so have to go back next week for same again. I suppose they are worried about pre-eclampsia as I tick most of the boxes on the high risk factors. I have been told to elevate my feet when sitting but not to sit all the time, so have taken dog for a stroll around the block. Lovely day here so making the most of it.

keepitgoing · 24/10/2013 13:45

sweetie good news on the wee and BP, but sorry your feet are still really swollen. Are you working today?

Yes, Kip is still moving around loads. Not so many huge thumps as i think there's not so much space, but lots of squriming, and what feels like punches in the fanjo Do your two seem to wake and sleep at the same time, or is it hard to tell?

Given I've only been working 2 months, and need to finish off these projects before I go, i suspect that i will be more busy next week than up till now... Never mind, not long now. Driving is becoming a bit uncomfortable, so I'm pleased I won't have to do that many more times - hopefully just twice next week. Woo hoo!

SweetieTime · 24/10/2013 14:09

I have been working from home all week. I am not sure what shoes I could fit in that would be suitable for work. I am currently swapping between animal print slippers and crocs!!
Glad kip is still very active. I have found the movement is less kicks and more squirms. They seem more in sync now and awake together. Sometimes I can feel just the one. It must be getting a bit tight in there for the two of them.

Sorry you will be in for a busy time next week too. You will be dreaming of Friday all week. Sounds like you can work from home some of the days which I find really helps.

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooo · 24/10/2013 15:08

Sweetie I am so pleased your bp is normal, but sorry your feet are still swollen. Surely not long now before you're on leave?

Keep consider yourself on notice, as soon as you have finished the projects you are to do nothing more strenuous than making a Brew or lifting Cake!!

keepitgoing · 24/10/2013 15:16

I think animal slippers would be very fetching!!

As for what I'm planning on doing once i stop work. Well, cooking lots of food, getting a haircut, getting fitted for nursing bras, buying christmas presents (on line), sleeping, watching films and sorting out the odd bits and bobs. DH is on nights the week before Kip is due, which is rather annoying as it means I will have to tiptoe round the house.

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooo · 24/10/2013 15:53

Sounds like a plan Keep Halloween Smile

Solars · 24/10/2013 16:22

Really pleased to hear about your bp and wee Sweetie and brooking that the swelling comes down before your next appointment. I'm sure a nice pair of crocs will be quite fetching with office wear, you never know you may even start a trend!

Keep your maternity leave sounds like bliss. I have a feeling I will still be working all the way through pregnancy as I work for MrS but it's not really very taxing and I'm sure if I start to struggle we'll be able to find some help if needed. I have been doing some Christmas shopping already, I've just made a massive chocolate thorntons order for MrS for his work colleagues which he gives out every year. I just wanted to get it out the way, so at least it's one less thing to worry about.

MrS has taken me out to lunch today as it's such a lovely day here too, which was really nice and we've been looking at lots of baby clothes as well. Now I'm home with a nice hot chocolate and cookies....Brew Biscuit

cartoontrickster · 24/10/2013 16:27

keep sounds amazing. pretty much what I'm planning except ill be wrapping presents not buying by then. not that I've thought about it much or been counting the days of course.
sweetie glad the hosp went ok and that they are keeping an eye on you. I hope your feet return to normal size soon.
maybe hows work?
pen, solars, bumpie (who have I missedHmm ) hope your all doing well.
I'm mega tired these last few days. its dh's birthday today so its pizza and cake for tea Grin

cartoontrickster · 24/10/2013 16:29

stacks! that's who I missed. Grin

keepitgoing · 24/10/2013 16:48

You work for your husband solars? Shock Could not do that he'd have to work for me

trix most of your pre baby time will be post Xmas, so you can work your way through leftovers...

NoMaybeAboutIt · 24/10/2013 16:49

Sweetie what a massive relief. Sorry your poor feet are playing up still Sad. I think everyone should be allowed to wear slippers to work!

Keep sounds like a good plan!! Bet you can't wait. When MrM is on night, he is impossible to wake!!

Happy birthday MrT!!

Sounds like a nice day Solars. It's been really sunny here too. Properly autumnal.

Thanks everyone for asking about work. I'm struggling if I'm honest. I am just so tired and I have a constant headache that will not shift. Am just feeling like a bit if a failure at the moment. Don't want to bring the thread down though Smile

How's Toddly Boo?

Hope your hips are feeling better Stacks

cartoontrickster · 24/10/2013 16:53

oh defiantly keep there will be a constant smudge of chocolate Round my face Grin . although this year I have vow to not buy so much food Yeh right

keepitgoing · 24/10/2013 17:01

maybe you're not a failure, don't be silly. You are having a really tough pregnancy, and growing a new person. Perhaps at the end of the week talk to your boss about doing half days, then you can nap after lunch. And WTF is this about bringing the thread down. We all have our moments and that's what we're here for, non?

I am cross with MrK because he has totally failed to swap his shift for tomorrow, and we have tickets for something which I can't get a refund for. Grrr. I have been on at him for ages and he's not done it, now of course everyone has plans for Friday night and noone wants to swap with him.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 24/10/2013 18:06
Bumpiemalumpie · 24/10/2013 19:01

Hello all,

Sorry, been a long week!

Glad we are all starting to feel better. stacks my Sciatic went mad t 8 weeks and by 12 I could not walk so saw the physio. She explained that when the body has hormone surges, hip and nerve disorders will suffer. She has been spot on!! Keep doing your Pelvic Floor exercises!!

maybe, I am so pleased your work has been so flexible after all your worry. I hope you are feeling better

Keep, bugger to the swelling, that is annoying, hope you use it as an excuse to sit with your legs up!! Mr B has also started to forget things, man baby brain??

tricks how have you got on with buggy buying??

Sweetieloving the shoe choices!! Hope your levels keep low or non exsistant!!

To all others. I am sorry if I have forgotten anything.

Well, I am off to the baby show on Sunday and powering to the sling places to look at them all and try some on. Will also look at a sling meet/library, thanks whoever said that.

After my trauma of being diagnosed with single umibilical artery and then coming to terms with the fact I may have to change my birth plan, went to my lovely midwife today and she is confident that if baby continues to grow well, she/he will be able to be born at home/birthing centre/ mother care or whereever!!! So pleased.

New medication is working well, feeling much better about things now and anxiety is back under control!!!

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooo · 24/10/2013 19:03

Oh Keep how disappointing, sounds like something Mr B would do actually did on my induction day is there anyone else you could take?

Oh Maybe we're here for that sort of thing, and lets face it, on the scale of thread derailments you having a tough time at the mo is fairly innocent! Now don't keep it to yourself any longer, you never know, someone might have a remedy up their sleeve you haven't tried yet.

Solars · 24/10/2013 19:13

Keep I'm officially self employed but I take care of MrS's private work what a waste of an engineering degree and a 15 year career he is always complaining that his NHS staff treat him nicer that I do Grin Can you get someone else to go with you tomorrow?

Maybe you wouldn't ever bring the thread down, you've had such a tough start with the pregnancy so far but as Keep said a chat with work may help if you're struggling. Would flexible starts and ends to the day help or not?

SweetieTime · 24/10/2013 19:53

Aw Maybe there is no way you can bring the thread down, that is what we are hear for - to support each other through the ups and downs of TTC, pregnancy and child rearing. Brookers rules are one for all and all for one.
Come on share with us what you are going through and see if we can help.

Solars treat him mean, keep him keen. I am sure it keeps MrS on his toes to be treated by you rather than his NHS staff. Nice of him to get them all Thorntons chocs though, I hope there is some for you too.

Keep have you asked around if anyone can come along to use your spare ticket, or is it something you could go to alone?

Bumpie glad you may get the birth experience you want, hope everything keeps going so well and it all works out for you.

Trix happy birthday to MrT, great birthday tea combo of pizza and cake - can not fault it.

Boo only 2 more weeks and 1 day officially still to go but not sure how many more times I will go into the office in my crocs or slippers Then would you be up for a meet up? I need to pick your brain of birth options, yes I have been back on with my hospital to fight my case with no success.

keepitgoing · 24/10/2013 21:07

What happened with your plan sweetie?

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooo · 24/10/2013 22:10

Always ready for a meet up Sweetie Halloween Smile

Well I'm a very excited Booooooo, my lovely phone is coming home tomorrow Halloween Grin

SweetieTime · 25/10/2013 08:10

Boo is it here yet?

Keep I spoke to the "birth matters" twins midwife yesterday and she basically repeated what the twins consultant said regarding mode of delivery. I will not be allowed an ELCS unless these is medical need regardless of NICE guidelines. Apparently our Trust do not allow mothers choice. So my options are limited and it is unlikely that another consultant will allow this as they are all of the same instruction. I have asked to see another consultant anyway but my only option might be to change Trusts, if I can find one in the local area that will allow me an ELCS. I am really fed up and stressed by the situation.

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooo · 25/10/2013 10:17

Jumping in the shower then off to collect it Halloween Grin I really hope you can get a solution to your birth choices, you do sound really stressed by it {{{{{hugs}}}}}

keepitgoing · 25/10/2013 11:20

oh dear sweetie they sound not flexible at all. I assume that you have done all the research into stats for twin birth. I mean, it's good that they think you can do it, isn't it? Are you definitely not wanting to give it a try? What are your reasons, would it help to talk them through? Moving trusts sounds like a big old hassle, and are you sure they'd be any different? I guess that talking to another consultant might help even if they say it doesn't, because they may be more sympathetic. Maybe if you play up the pscychological side of it then they could use that, rather than just 'she wants to'. I really feel bad for you, as I think that I would want the same in your situation.

But, I guess you never know what'll happen. You could have an ELCS booked for 37 weeks, but go into labour beforehand. So I would suggest that you make sure you are prepared for a natural birth either way. You'll be fine. You're a brooker.

Nearly the weekend girls!

Solars · 25/10/2013 19:04

Oh Sweetie I'm not sure what to suggest but I did have a look at the NHS website which talked about being referred to a healthcare professional who provides mental support which opens up the discussion and should give you support and perhaps pave the way to a c-section if that is still what you want, have they offered this? Or is that another NICE guideline your trust can just ignore? Another option is perhaps if you go private I guess. What about a discussion with your gp? Gosh I really hope you do get the birth choice you want.

ThedementedPenguin · 25/10/2013 20:49

Hi all, my goodness I have a lot to catch up on. I'm pretty tired so ill probably miss a lot.

sweetie how are the legs now? Have they gone down any? Re: Birth choices, I'm not really sure what to suggest. I honestly didn't think they could refuse an ELCS if that's what the mother wanted. Hopefully the next consultant will say yes.

maybe I know what you mean about bringing the thread down but as others have said that's what we are here for. If you don't complain or tell us how are we meant to help or even just cheer you up.

stacks have you booked your early scan? How's the back?

bumpie hope the baby show goes well on Sunday.

Can I just ask to anyone who has used a sling before, do you get very hot carrying an extra person around. We got a double pram however I think I'll like to use a sling this time as well but worry ill be roasted carrying baby and pushing ds.

I have been so tired recently, been going to bed around 9pm and Dp usually gets up with ds so I could have a lie in until 9. Although I do all night wakenings, so I'm up 2-3 times a night. I was up around 8.30 this morning and I feel like I haven't slept in days.

Oh I rented a Doppler of eBay, it arrived yesterday and I've heard babies hb, it was amazing. I've also booked my next mw app for 4th Nov. so will hopefully hear it then as well.

I hope I haven't missed anything, although I'm heading to bed. 17 weeks tomorrow (can't believe it!)
