Hey all,

Bumpiemalumpie, 24.5, DC1, EDD 02 02 14, UNKNOWN (but feeling girl!)

Congrats on the completion Keep

Hello Stacks

Trix, buggies are a minefeild. I said that I didn't really mind as long as it was three wheeler as we walk alot, lay flat so no need for a carry cot, front and back facing and fits in my boot. Well that left us with three, The mother care feels as slimsy as f**k, the Maxi Cosi(I think) one is so heavy and folds to the size of a house and so we have gone for the Britax B-Smart 3, sadly there are no cosey toes that go with it so will be getting a soft carry cot insert initially and then a universal cosey toes. It is pretty but only comes in Red but that would fade and black so I am looking to accessorize!!!

How is everyone, got that Friday feelings??

cartoontrickster · 18/10/2013 18:31

is a soft carry cot insert what some call a newborn nest bumpie? my main things were not 3 wheels, must look like a pram so has a carry cot and not black so pretty much the opposite to you Grin . have chosen a mostly black pram in the end though. I like that's why I'm focusing on footmuffs etc now to jazz it up a little!

Bumpiemalumpie · 18/10/2013 18:34

trix hahaha, we are all so different!!! I didn't really want black but the Red was hidious!

Yes thats what I think the posh buggies call it!!

I really want to go wild but DH is quite superstitious -and tight- so I am not allowed till the January sales. We'll see however after the Baby Show and the NCT sale!!!

Have you looked at Slings?

cartoontrickster · 18/10/2013 18:40

bumpie my dh was reluctant to buy much for ages, hes ok now though, but its because we've had 3 mcs. I think I was around 16wks when I brought this baby's first bit of clothing. I know a lot of people think its bad luck to have the pram in the house though.
I haven't really thought about a sling... possibly the only thing that hasn't crossed my mind yet.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 18/10/2013 18:45

There are loads of slings at the baby show Bumpie with lots of demos. We got a stretchy wrap for when Fin comes along. We both loved wearing it, definitely a good buy.

I'm fact, there are loads of good bits at the show, plenty to be thinking about!!

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooo · 18/10/2013 21:05

Do you like my name Halloween name change? (Tis I Boo Halloween Grin)

Who was asking about slings?? There are a lot of baby wearers among the grads, just ask away!!

Bumpiemalumpie · 18/10/2013 21:16

OK, which ones have people found the best?? are their tiny hips OK being open for so long??

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooo · 18/10/2013 21:24

I have a Joe and Joy stretchy sling, if you're worried about their little hips, then you want to avoid the Baby Bjorn type and go for the fabric wrap sort.

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 18/10/2013 21:30

Just popping by, keep, def get a maternity tens. I had an Elle one of some description which was about £50 to buy. They have a boost button which you press when you have a contraction, it massively ramps up the oomph and takes the pain away, which a normal tens doesn't have as a feature.

Re double buggies we have a baby jogger city select, love it, 22 months between my ds's and it can be a single or a double, and reckon it is indestructible and will easily survive another 2 dc's as/when.

Re baby carriers, def do not get baby Bjorn or anything like those, can cause hip dysphasia (sp?) we have an ergo which keeps them facing inwards and supports them properly.

SweetieTime · 18/10/2013 21:40

Bumpie there is a sling library near me where you can go and try out the different types. I think you may be able to borrow them too. Worth a Google for your local area.

ThedementedPenguin · 18/10/2013 22:33

booo it was pretty obvious at my later scans. If I hadn't of known before hand there was no doubting what I was having then.
I think at the 20 week scan it's harder as they check so much, you really do take a lot in. However at all my later scans the Mw's and consultants always managed to find his penis. Was very funny.

bumpie I wanted a 3 wheeler, that could face both ways but when I read up on some of them it didn't seem great. Don't think it was worth it for all the walking I do now. My icandy has got pretty class wheels, we call it the tank.

Since having ds I love buying prams. I've had 4. Always looking for a new one. Thinking of buying a stroller now for ds as the pear is quite heavy. However, they all look so flimsy.

Haha bumpie I'm sure you'll make up for it in the January sales. When my auntie found out she was having a boy she spend over £300 on clothes for him from next. She was so excited after all her girls she went mad. Smile

keepitgoing · 19/10/2013 21:43

Oh wow, is there more luxury in the world than a sofa then bed... :)

We have a mamas and papas sling from nct sale. Bit like a baby bjorn, and v good reviews. I can't try any on due to bump, and I think there are no sling libraries round here.

Sinks back into feather topper and mounds of pillows.

Bumpiemalumpie · 20/10/2013 11:00

Wow keep look at you and your luxury!!

Does anyone have a caboo(sp) sling?? I really wanted one where the baby lays down but can sit as well? Looking forward to the Babyshow where I hope they can advise! Am a little annoyed I do not get paid until after the babyshow!!

How is everyone today? It is raining like mad here but also very sunny, I am therefore excited for the Rainbow!! Bean has been doing a jig this morning, I rolled over to cuddle DH and Bean woke him up!!

x

keepitgoing · 20/10/2013 15:37

That's the beauty of credit cards bumpie! :)

NoMaybeAboutIt · 20/10/2013 21:11

Keep I hope you're still inbred Halloween Wink has it helped your back?

Agreeing with Keep, your flexible friend will come in handy at the weekend Bumpie Halloween Grin

keepitgoing · 20/10/2013 22:54

No inbreeding here :)

I have been in bed most of the day :) but bit freaked out this evening by loads of BH, even when doing nothing. - I've had lots for weeks but usually from activity. I think its ok though.

maybe masses of good luck for work tomorrow x

NoMaybeAboutIt · 20/10/2013 23:28

Grin those fingers of mine are at it again Keep. Sorry the BH are troubling you. I hope you manage to get some sleep.

Thank you for the luck. Am so pleased I can work from home. Am now not worried about it. And work have said I should take my time and tell them if I'm not coping, so it's all good. Plus it means I can sleep in my breaks!

cartoontrickster · 21/10/2013 08:21

morning!
keep how's the new bed?
maybe don't work too hard today!
I was moaning about getting up this morning, so dh counted including today I have 9 Mondays left, 9 weeks until I'm thinking of going on maternity leave Shock .

keepitgoing · 21/10/2013 08:42

morning everyone - i did get a good night's sleep thanks maybe. They aren't painful, like keeping you awake, just a bit uncomfortable. And make me worry. They are still going this morning, so I am going to see how I go and maybe ring the ward at lunchtime to see if they suggest I come in for monitoring. Luckily I am working from home today so that's easy enough to do.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

keepitgoing · 21/10/2013 08:47

9 weeks trix?! How did that happen. So you'll be how many weeks when you go off?

Next Friday is my last day. Think I have a busy couple of weeks ahead of me though, but just have to keep calm. MrK was so lovely last night as I was fretting about early labour - I don't know how people cope during pregnancies on their own. Poor thing has just cycled off to work in the pouring rain, while I am still here in my dressing gown with a mug of tea.

9 weeks Trix Halloween Shock! I get you're ticking them off!

10 more days Keep! Poor you with the BH. I'd give the ward a call now if I were you. That way, if they want you in, you'll be home in time for tea and you get out if work

I'm having some cereal and waiting fory laptop to charge. Thank goodness I've only got emails to check today, I'm so tired!

How is everyone?

keepitgoing · 21/10/2013 09:13

Bet you have a billion emails!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 21/10/2013 09:17

I don't think my inbox will cope!!

cartoontrickster · 21/10/2013 09:27
