Here you go ladies

Thought I would treat you to a new thread as you lot are far too busy growing new people to do it Grin

Thanks Keep. Glad the viewing went well! Exciting times!

ThedementedPenguin · 17/10/2013 22:29

maybe your commute sounds awful. Do you have to get the train?

keep good news about the viewing. Could this be the one?

bumpie hopefully you'll receive a nice cheque soon a and an apology. The person you spoke to seemed like a moron.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 17/10/2013 22:36

I do Pen, and the tube. I don't mind normally as I'm so used to it. But I just can't handle it at the moment

When is your scan?

Stacks · 18/10/2013 08:41

Bumpie nice to meet you! I'm a second time Brooker, my DS is 10 months nearly, and somehow I managed an instadiff this time, so there'll be almost exactly 18 months between them. I'm a little nervous, but excited too. Sorry to hear your anxiety disorder might be back will you be able to get or do something to help?

Maybe can you start your maternity leave early? I think 26 weeks is the earliest? Would that be better or worse than sick pay? I hope you get to sort things out with them. That's an incredibly long day for you to have to do a a first day back, definitely worth trying to negotiate around that.

I'm quite tired this morning. DS has decided the last few nights to wake up lots. No idea what's bothering him, as he seems happy when we go in, and he goes back to sleep quite quickly. Last night was 12:30, 2:30, 3:30, 5 and up at 7:30. Luckily I went to bed at 10!

cartoontrickster · 18/10/2013 09:03

ok a bit of googling tells me the seat is different on the apple and Apple 2. it seems that they don't make coloured aprons nor can you can the hood on the carrycot only the push chair. the icandy site and product vid confused me more at first as it shows what to me looks like a carry cot with a coloured hood when its in tandem mode, turns out its a new born nest (what ever that is Hmm ). anyway this all came about because I'd like the footmuff for next year but don't really want to pay 80 quid Shock . currently I cannot find it any cheaper eBay seems to only have muffs for the apple, which is what made me wonder what the difference was. who knew it could be so confusing!

ThedementedPenguin · 18/10/2013 10:05

stacks congrats on baby number 2. There's roughly the same gap between ds1 and this baby. I think he'll be 19ish months when baby is born.
That sounds like my ds, I'm usually up 2-4 times a night. Dp has been so busy in work that I don't even get a lie in. I'm exhausted, I've been having naps in the afternoon/evening I've been so tired.

maybe I don't blame you, I haven't had the pleasure of experiencing the tube but I've read stories on here and it sounds awful at times.
Have you spoken to work yet?

My scan isn't until 20th November. Feels like ages away. Have my flu jab tomorrow though :( just want it over with.

trix would you consider just buying a foot muff that fits any pram. I can't think of the right word Blush we were bought a fleecy one when ds was born. It fits any pram/buggy. Think it was from matalan/tk maxx. Only problem it's not waterproof. But I'm sure you could get a waterproof one.

cartoontrickster · 18/10/2013 10:15

pen my jabs tomorrow too, ull be fine their not that bad.
I have been looking at universal foot muffs. I'm very funny about things matching though I have seen a lovely pink and purple butterfly muff from mothercare that I think will look nice if treats is a girl, the hood I have for the push chair seat is purple.
am I confusing everyone with this pram stuff yet, its starting to confuse me!
I think we possibly need a new list with the arrival of stacks and whos got the next scan?

keepitgoing · 18/10/2013 10:24

stacks that sounds like a total nightmare. I'm tired enough already, but the thought of being up five times in the night as well as being pregnant...

pen don't worry about the jab, it's not a big deal honest!

god trix you are very confusing about the pram... I have no clue what you're on about tbh Grin When are you finding out the sex then, and why didn't you find out at 20 weeks, have you just changed your mind?

we should be completing on the sale of our house this morning! I have booked our van (and man!) to go pick up our beds etc tomorrow. Tomorrow night I will be sleeping in a proper bed, and able to sit on a proper couch! Grin

Here is the list
keep 34 weeks with Kip EDD 29/11 UNKNOWN
sweetie 29+3 with Dib and Dab due december GIRL AND BOY
trix 26+6 with Treats, due 18/01 UNKNOWN
solars 22+3 with sunbeam due 18/02 UNKNOWN
maybe 17+4 with Fin(ella) due 24/03 GIRL
penguin15+6 with pingu due 05/04
kitty 9+2 with kitten due ??
stacks ??

cartoontrickster · 18/10/2013 10:43

keep honestly most of the time I don't even know what I'm on about Grin we will find out when treats is born we wanted the suprise, although I admit it is a little tempting at each scan knowing they could just tell me there and then.
yay for a proper bed and sofa!
I've got a growth scan on the 28th anyone else got a scan soon?
where is kitty? has she been seen on the other Fred lately? x

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 18/10/2013 10:53

I was like that Trix we wanted a surprise too, but I had so many scans it took all my will power not to ask, I did try to have a sneaky look and was absolutely convinced I had seen boy parts Blush

Loving the round up, it looks much better than a few months ago when it was just me and Sparks flying the flag :) Can't wait to start 'meeting' all these new babies.

Keep I am very pleased you will finally have some proper furniture, and good news on the physio referral too. I hope they don't keep you waiting too long! What was your glucose result like yesterday, did you do anything different?

All the pram talk fully confused me, my pram requirements were pretty simple, a high enough handle so me and DH didn't have to bend to push it, and folds quickly because I CBA with those complicated engineering ones that you have to construct from the wheels up Halloween Grin

Right off to sort K, back later :):)

OP posts:
SweetieTime · 18/10/2013 11:09

Trix it sounds like there are loads of pram options to consider. It does sound quite confusing but I am sure it will sort itself out in the end. We didn't get foot muffs but not sure if we will need them when the babies are out of the carry cots. Will wait until then to decide.

Keep well done on the list, I am not sure how you remember where everyone is at but I struggle to remember where I am at let alone everyone else. Fingers crossed for your house exchanging today and the bliss of a real bed this weekend. I think you deserve a massive lie in on Sunday.

pen good luck with the flu jab tomorrow, I was supposed to go for mine today but rang to see if I needed to take my maternity notes only to be told the drop in clinic was last week only and not every week. So I am not sure how or when I will be able to get mine done. I have a mw appointment Monday so I will ask her, although Dr receptionist total jobs worth told me mw aren't allowed the give flu jabs - go figure!!!

Stacks goodness did you manage any sleep last night with DS waking so many times? Hope you are feeling ok today and not tooooooo tired.

cartoontrickster · 18/10/2013 11:31

sweetie sometimes I have to ask dh how many weeks I am!Blush from my experience some mw don't have any general medical knowledge at all so I'm not surprised yours won't do a flu jab. I was shocked when one mw told me she had no idea about thrush treatments. after all it is quite a common pregnancy complaint.
I think I'm making the pram more complicated than it needs to be (I do have a habit of doing that) we have a pram and actually don't need any additional extras for it. I guess really blankets could be used instead of a footmuff. but why I'm worrying about something I will only need next winter I do not know. oh well its taking my mind off worrying about what tog grow bag and how many sheets/blankets treats will need.

keepitgoing · 18/10/2013 11:43

nope, i'm not a spreadsheet geek, I just foudn the old list and added the right amount of time

We have completed! Grin I think i will not leave the bed on Sunday except to pack my hospital bag - been meaning to do that for ages.....

My sister's given me a tens machine. It's not a maternity one, and NCT said don't use non-mat ones, as does the website. But I don't think i am going to pay for a specific one if i have one. How different can they be? Anyone know?

trix i think i was mixing you up with pen who can't wait to know the sex. I have kept my eyes open on all scans, but actually have no clue what things might look like so it's all still a mystery.

cartoontrickster · 18/10/2013 12:02

keep I did wonder what made u think that. I think pens scan is 29th Nov and she will find out then.
I also very much doubt I'd know what I was looking at if it was on the screen!

Stacks · 18/10/2013 12:39

I'm due kind of end of June, based on old cycles due around 23/06. However, I think that might be a week early. I think I'm 4 weeks? It's strange how much more confusing it is when it's happened easily! With DS I practically knew the hour of ovulation :)

I'm going to have to start looking at pushchairs. We'll need a double one for a while with DS only 18m at the time right? Though I'm hoping to use a sling loads for button, so I can still give DS as much attention as possible.

Keep congratulations! I don't know all the details, but completing the sale must feel great. I think the thing about non maternity tens is probably something around the current they can give out. I have no idea though really, sorry.

Trix take a look at lambs wool liners for pushchairs. They keep baby cool in summer and warm in winter. Then just blankets over the top. I think that's the main difference between foot muffs and blankets, they can get colder backs? DS was always fine in blankets, though as a newborn in his pram I used a sleeping bag god him, so he couldn't kick his covers off.

I'm going to have to look at getting my flu jab too. You can get them done in most chemists by just walking in, however they do charge, I think it's about £15.

Pen DS had been sleeping through for the last couple of months, usually 7-5, then 5:30-7. No such luck this week. In looking forward to the weekend when I can hand him over to DH for a while. Unfortunately daytime naps are a bit hit and miss, and usually involve me holding him for them. So no naps for me.

SweetieTime · 18/10/2013 12:39

it is very obvious when you know what to look for Wink

SweetieTime · 18/10/2013 12:39

it is very obvious when you know what to look for Wink

ThedementedPenguin · 18/10/2013 12:53

sweetie is right. It is very obvious. When I had growth scans with ds, the consultant couldn't get his legs as they were spread so far apart all you could see was this willy. No matter what angle she went at that's all we could see. Was very funny, however there was no denying that he was a boy.

trix if you get anymore scans keep a good eye on the screen you might see something.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 18/10/2013 12:58

Afternoon brookers!!

Great list Keep! Congratulations on completion! You are not going to know yourad once your bed is back. I think I would demand breakfast, lunch and dinner in bed Halloween Wink

Pen the jab really is fine. I always have a reaction to the flu jab, but it's nothing awful.

Hope you manage to get your sorted Sweetie. Our mw doesn't do them either. Had to go to the flu jab clinic they run at weekends. Though I know they have run out at the moment, so I think I was lucky to get in when I did. Our boots charges £12.50 for it. Though I think Sparks had trouble when she asked her pharmacist to do it as she was pregnant. Though I could be making this up.....

Trix try not to worry too much about what you'll need. It's the beauty of this whole thing, we learn as we go along. And also, the Internet is only a click away, I think online shopping and next day delivery are god sends!!

A June baby Stacks! How lovely.

My next scan is 5th November and have my consultant appointment straight after.

Work were fantastic. I can work from home. They are going to take things slowly with me. They have been so very understanding. I'm so lucky.

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 18/10/2013 13:21

Aww Maybe so pleased work are being good with you:)

Pen don't count on knowing what you're looking at on the scan, I was certain I saw boy bits on one of my scans, I was fairly certain I was having a boy anyway, nearly fell of the bed when I looked and realised something was missing from my boy girl Halloween BlushHalloween Grin

NoMaybeAboutIt · 18/10/2013 13:46

Thanks Boo.

I was also the same at our scan, I had no idea what I was looking at!! Poor Fin is going to have a proper complex now!!

keepitgoing · 18/10/2013 15:18

well there you go maybe, if you don't ask you don't get. Really hope that it goes ok for you next week.

Well maybe if it's obvious if it's there sweetie, but not so obvious if it's not, iykwim. You had both to compare against each other.

Stacks · 18/10/2013 16:07

DS was an obvious boy on the scan, Avery clear picture of a little willy on the screen. The sonographer still said it was only an 80% chance though. I think girls are harder to tell, and boys can hide their bits quite well too. I guess it's just easy to tell if you're lucky with positioning.

I wonder when I should book in etc. last time they scanned me at 6 weeks, so I guess I should let them know before then.

So glad work are being more than reasonable maybe. They sound like a lovely place to work for.

cartoontrickster · 18/10/2013 16:54

stacks usually now you book in between 8-10wks. but yes I guess if you had an early scan last time they may want to do the same again. perhaps just phone and ask for the mw to call you then see what she says.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 18/10/2013 17:14

Why did they scan you so early before Stacks?

Our sonographer the other day was adamant Fin is a girl. Definite lack of bits and the classic white lines. Apparently. I wouldn't have been able to tell. But then again if there had been meat and two veg present, it may well have been easy to see.
