Thought I would treat you to a new thread as you lot are far too busy growing new people to do it Grin

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I've got only one tube, which was likely blocked last time and cleared by a hcg. DH also has some male factor issues, but not enough to stop a normal conception obv, just an excuse for it taking longer.

It's been so quick this time it almost feels like an accident. Don't get me wrong, DC 2 is much wanted and planned for, just totally not expected this quickly!

keepitgoing · 17/10/2013 14:06

i'm quite sceptical about male factor - they don't seem very consistent about it (so long as there are some sperm). Clearly it's not impacting you guys at all now, though I guess his SA could have changed. It's all a bit of a mystery, isn't it? Your one tube has to work hard then, eh? How old is T now?

We were unexplained in the end, though there was 'mild male factor' for a bit which seemed to resolve, and by the time we had IVF was pretty good actually. Whatever the issue was with us was resolved by IVF, so i guess it must have been egg meeting sperm somehow.

Amazing for it to be so fast this time. Brooking it's a sticky one! Congratulations again Grin

Solars · 17/10/2013 14:11

Congrats Stacks Thanks I'm hoping we get a little of your luck, ttc dc2 when the time comes for us as I really don't want to go through the ivf route again.

Maybe, lovely I'm feeling ok thanks. I've been compiling spreadsheets galore of all the things I need for baby and will hopefully start ticking things off soon. I've gone and ordered a new maternity dress which I possibly don't need but just felt like treating myself, well the way I look at it it's better treating myself with a dress than chocolate right?! We're also slowly sorting out the 2nd bedroom but I'm emphasising on the word slowly. I'm still only feeling minimal baby movement but talking to a lady at my yoga class who also has an anterior placenta and is about 2 weeks ahead of me she's also only started to feel movement now which has reassured me a little. I'm so sorry to hear the meds aren't taking away all your feelings of nausea but hoping that it's got to end soon now for you, you're in the 2nd trimester for goodness sake.

Oh Boo I told mil I didn't want the baby shower, I'm hoping she took it well but we're seeing her at the weekend so will mention the freezer food (I was hoping to mention it further down the line) if she starts trying to persuade me otherwise or starts suggesting other things too...

cartoontrickster · 17/10/2013 15:09

wow stacks congratulations!
keep not long left at work then how exciting!
maybe I agree that you should talk to your boss surely you can come up with a solution that suits everyone.
I seem to be purchasing more and more baby clothesBlush when there probably a whole list of things I still need! my grandma brought a little pink cardigan shes so convinced treats is a girl. I know it sounds silly but I'm reluctant to wash all the little things as lately even brand new clothes are coming out bobbley and I've not yet figured out why. I want treats clothes to at least look nice for one wear!
does anyone know whether there was an icandy just called apple? I can't figure out if its two different models mines an apple 2 pear? I've been looking at the footmuffs on eBay but I think they may be different. also I'm wondering if there's an apron that will fit my carry cot.

cartoontrickster · 17/10/2013 15:10

oh solars your mil can throw me a shower if she likes I'd love one Wink

SweetieTime · 17/10/2013 15:11

Keep we went to our hospital twins parenting session, I thought it was good too although bit pushy on the BF front. Our hospital no longer does tours of the delivery areas, although it was the hospital used on recent series of OBEM so I know from that what to expect when I was brave enough to watch I think there is a virtual tour you can take online. Your hospital/birthing centre sounds amazing, hope it is a nice relaxing place for the ultimate sneeze.

I was like a wet rag yesterday, I am really feeling it when I go into the office. I am fine while I am there but as soon as I get home it is like someone has taken my batteries out. I am fine just very tired, of course when I get to bed I can not sleep which I am sure doesn't help. My bump measures 43" around my lack of waist, I don't think that is too bad. No stretch marks to report as yet, I keep applying various lotions and potions in the vain hope they may make a difference. No BH to report and belly button still very much an inny.

Stacks congrats, and I can not believe you instadiffed this time. It just goes to show it is possible. Hope you will be hanging around now it has officially been confirmed with dilute pee by a FRER.

Maybe I love Teddy too, so are you going to share any girl names? I have found girl names much more difficult than boys only because there are so many nice one - spoilt for choice. If I were you I would say you can not travel yet, just make up an excuse. Surely they know why you are off? It seems insensitive to send you on a long trip when they know the circumstances.

Solars well done for standing up to MIL, I am sure freezer food will be a good compromise, if there is any spare please can you send it in my direction? I didn't feel much movement until 21/22 weeks and I have 2, try not to worry as all is fine.

My hospital appointment on Monday went well apart from £70 parking ticket and my iron levels have actually increased so I won't be needing iron supplements. I have been adding raisins to my morning cereal so I wonder if this has made the difference as they are supposed to be a good source of iron.
Planning to get my flu jab done tomorrow, there is a drop in clinic between 8.30 - 12 where anyone eligible can be done.

ThedementedPenguin · 17/10/2013 15:29

Just came on quickly to reply to trix will read all later. Yes there is an icandy just called the apple. I have one. There's not much difference between it and the pear although the seat it a lot bigger on the apple compared to the pear.

cartoontrickster · 17/10/2013 15:42

pen is there one just called pear then too? and mines a mixture? sorry if I'm being dense haha. I've seen lots of apple seat liners on eBay but I guess there too big for my apple 2 pear then.

cartoontrickster · 17/10/2013 15:48

ah wait so its call a pear when its a tandem? is that right?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 17/10/2013 15:50

Trix your one is the one that can convert to a double buggy yes? I think the 2 is just the second generation of them. Mine is a Peach 2. Not sure whether the dimensions are the same as the original ones.

I'm glad you've been reassured Solars. It's always nice when people are in the same boat as you. And you deserve a nice new dress. What did you go for?

Keep how will your mat pay work?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 17/10/2013 15:51

Pressed send too soon! I meant to say my sick pay is not reset as I have only been there since July. That's why I'm on stat sick pay

cartoontrickster · 17/10/2013 15:57

yes maybe that's it. I was looking for the footmuff on eBay but can't seem to find it on for the apple not apple 2.

Solars · 17/10/2013 16:08

Trix you're welcome to my mil organising your baby shower but you're only allowed to invite your mum and any sisters and she will invite all her friends!

Sweetie a £70 fine?? it really bugs me the hospital parking system, grrr! Well done on the iron levels and interesting on the raisins, I'm not a raisins fan but I have been eating dried apricots, I get tested again in a couple of weeks time so I'm hoping to also be off the iron supplements. Good luck with the flu jab tomorrow.

Maybe I actually ordered this but they emailed back saying they didn't have my size even though the website did so I ordered this instead which they gave me for the same price as the first one. We've got a few weekend lunch dates coming up and I just wanted something nice to wear.

cartoontrickster · 17/10/2013 16:17

well I don't have a long list of people to invite anyway so at least your mils friends would make up the numbers hehe. I love both those dresses, havent seen that site before!

keepitgoing · 17/10/2013 16:21

Ooh lovely dresses solars! I want to get cosy winter one but think its prob not worth It.

sweetie I'm at 41''. Sorry you're tired, not surprising though, these babies are packing in the weight right now!

Back from the mw with an urgent physio referral, she thinks it'll be in a week or two :) Kip is head down and on the left, which is best. Not yet at all engaged, she said any time in the next 2 weeks. And now on the 90th percentile, was 98th last time... Urine clear --so I just had a donut an apple and a ta
ngerine...--

Solars · 17/10/2013 16:30

Omg Keep really the next 2 weeks?? Is that when your due date is?

keepitgoing · 17/10/2013 16:34

Aah no, kip will start to engage any time in the next 2 weeks. Ie 34-36 weeks. They can then stay with their head in the pelvis for a good while. Comfy... Still 6 weeks for me and sweetie. No hurrying these babies please :)

keepitgoing · 17/10/2013 16:36

Oh yes, we were half an hour late to our class last night because of dh. I was mad. And now I am going to see a house on my own tonight ... Sigh.

Solars · 17/10/2013 16:40

Oh phew! I feel your pain Keep MrS usually makes us late for things too, very annoying!! Hope it's a lovely house to view tonight though.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 17/10/2013 17:02

Sweetie i completely missed your post earlier! Brilliant news on the iron levels. But a £70 fine Shock I'd be fuming!

Lovely dresses Solars.

Keep that's great news. How exciting. Time is flying by for you and Sweetie! Boo to MrK not viewing the house tonight. I hope you like it. And I hope that physio comes through ASAP. How is your back now?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 17/10/2013 17:53

Oh and Sweetie, we are struggling with girls names. We like ruby, but I think it's too popular now. We also like Molly, but I don't know if I like it enough. Trouble with MrM is, he is quite plain. In the nicest possible way of course Halloween Wink

Bumpiemalumpie · 17/10/2013 19:37

Hello all, busy day?!!!

So much to comment on.

After my funny turn, I am betterish, I called the midwife and she said that it did not sound pregnancy related so I went to the GP, however, inbetween those conversations I had a realisation that it is my Anxiety Disorder flaring up. It has been well under control for the last 2 years but I guess hormones in pregnancy leave everything on it's head. Anyway, I have to have an ECG tomorrow to see whether my heart is ok as I was getting palpitations. However, the good news is that Bean is jigging around well and the GP laughed at my blood pressure as he said it was textbook!!

Belly button reports are great thanks, mine is still threatening and I have some small stretch marks around it Sad

I have not experienced and BHs yet but am only 24.4 so I know I am early.

maybe, sorry you are struggling, how long will you have before ML? can you do a count down! My company have approved over night stays for anywhere over two hour drives due to by 'condition!!' try that one?!!

Trix there is an actual Icandy website which sets out all of the buggies so you can look on there at the differences etc. Also, I am in Hampshire, I am off to the Sunday one a I hope there will be more discounts on the last day!!

On ticket news - received an acknowledgement letter about my complaint!!! I think it was automatically generated but still!! No cheque though!! Can't remember who asked but yes, I do feel more feisty since pregnant, I feel the need to protect all around me!!!!

Um, think that is all. Oh no, hold on, one question, when did everyone start buying things for their bean/kip/pingu etc?? I have a few things but my DH is a little reticent. I feel that this may be due to the extra scans we have to have and the Single Artery thing meaning things are still a bit scary.

Oh and we start our NCT group in mid November. Also just found a baby massage group for after Bean is born!!!!

ThedementedPenguin · 17/10/2013 20:04

Trix yes on yours the pear is it double. Apple is only one seat. I'm not sure what size difference there is. Maybe you could ask people from the store you bought it or look online?

keep I'm glad to hear you've been referred to physio. Hope it helps.

maybe we struggled last time. I think I'll be worse this time as I have a name to sort of 'go with'. I don't want two random sounding names together. Can't wait to my scan so I can focus on one set of names.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 17/10/2013 20:30

That makes sense Pen

Bumpie boo to there being no cheque!! I hope one arrives for you! We have got loads of stuff and ordered the pram and furniture Halloween Smile

I'm only 17+3 so no mat leave for a very long time. My commute is nearly two hours each way a day, that's where the struggle will come from. I'm going to call tomorrow to speak to them.

How'd the viewing go Keep?

keepitgoing · 17/10/2013 20:32

Yeah it was quite good actually. Need to try and get dh there somehow.

maybe good luck hope the phone call goes well.
