OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hi everyone

I'm feeling completely better, thank you to everyone who has asked.

trix are you excited about yoga? It seems very good. I wish there was things to do like that around me.

sweetie that's great news about the scan. I know a woman who had her twins naturally, they are 18 years old now. Wow I can't believe you have only 9 weeks to go, how exciting.

I can't believe how long you have to wait for an icandy maybe although it saves it being stuck in your way for ages.

I have an icandy apple and pear. They were both great bargains. I only paid £30 for the apple. However, it needs new wheels so we decided just to save for a pear, also got a bargain for it. It's all black but I want to buy coloured hoods for it.

What does ubb mean?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 07/10/2013 22:02

Glad to hear you're better now Pen!! A UBB is an unidentified brooking baby!! Are you going to find out the sex?

cartoontrickster · 08/10/2013 08:09

pen glad your better. I'm sort of looking forward to yoga! I'm always nervous of new things but I know ill feel good when I've done it.
wow that is a good price for an apple. I was under the impression mine would have a colored hood and apron for the carry cot till it arrived and then I've found out it only comes in black oh well ill jazz it up with blankets etc

ThedementedPenguin · 08/10/2013 08:56

maybe yes I'm planning on finding out. I'll be waiting for my 20 week scan and hopefully they will be able to tell us again. If not ill book privately to find out. I'm too nosy not to find out Grin

NoMaybeAboutIt · 08/10/2013 09:43

When's your 20 weeks scan pen? Mine seems like an age away still!! Thank goodness I'm having a sneaky private one to tide me over Wink

How's everyone else on this sunny October morning?

ThedementedPenguin · 08/10/2013 11:06

Not until 20th November. So still ages away. However, I can't afford a private scan so I'm really hoping they can tell us. Otherwise I'll just have to find the money.

How exciting maybe what day is your scan?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 08/10/2013 11:10

Fingers crossed they will tell you!!

Scan is Tuesday evening. My 20 week scan is the 5th November. Im just fascinated by how much they grow!

keepitgoing · 08/10/2013 17:16

Oh wow maybe I can’t believe you’re at the stage of finding out the sex already! What do you think it is? I think Kip is a girl, although I have recently started to think that the rate of growing means maybe she's a boy... Basically I don't know. I'm quite enjoying everyone's attempts to guess though.

Yesterday someone I know well said ‘I can’t believe you still have 4 more weeks!’. Me: I have 4 more weeks at work, nearly 8 more weeks till EDD. Her: Shock

I’m still in a fair bit of back pain. But I’ve had such a straightforward pregnancy till now that I can’t complain. Last night I didn’t get back from work till 9 though; that was tiring.

This morning DH says to me 'do you know that Kip is so much stronger now - he can kick really hard'. No. Really?! How would i NOT know given that he has to kick through me to get to you!!

Off to see another house tonight. Sigh. I don't know that i have the patience for all of this. I wish someone would just find us a house and we didn't have to do anything... We have still not sold our old house. DH just phoned the lawyers to get cross and say that we are having a baby in a few weeks and i NEED A BED. I don't suppose that's helping the matter

NoMaybeAboutIt · 08/10/2013 17:28

Oh Keep you're having a time of it aren't you. Is the back pain SPD related at all? I hope you manage to find some relief somehow. I hope the viewing goes well tonight. It's stress you just don't need at the moment.

And well done to MrK for stating the obvious re kicks Grin

I know, I can't believe how far along I am sometimes. Since about ten weeks, time has really flown by.

We keep referring to Fin as a 'he' so the poor thing will probably turn out to be a girl now!

keepitgoing · 08/10/2013 18:43

Yeah I think its spd. Though I know some people have it much much worse.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 08/10/2013 20:33

Oh that's rubbish Keep. Will wearing a support belt help?

keepitgoing · 09/10/2013 09:01

I don't know :( will try lots of rest this week and see what the mw says next week.

pen did you find out the sex with your ds?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 09/10/2013 09:54

Oh Keep I hope it eases a bit for you. How'd the viewing go?

Off to the midwife this afternoon! hopefully she's not as scary as she was last time

keepitgoing · 09/10/2013 10:52

Last night's house needed a bit too much work for the money they were asking, so my favourite is still the first one. Only problem is a fairly small, and north facing, garden.

Good luck for the MW appointment. Given you've got your own doppler it will probably be rather boring though. My next one is Thursday next week (34 weeks one).

I am working at home today and washing lots of baby things that we bought at the weekend, so they can go in my hospital bag. :)

NoMaybeAboutIt · 09/10/2013 11:04

Ah, that's lovely Keep! How exciting!! That's a shame about the house, but lots of work is not what you need!

I'm still quite excited about the mw. Don't think I'll ever get bored of hearing the heart beat Smile

I did sparks! Thanks. I am trying to do all those things (except always take the stairs at work, so will stop). Are there any exercises that you know of?

Do you think it is SPD? I get a sharp stabbing pain in one side of my lower back when I do the wrong movement, like bending twisting or sometimes just putting weight on that leg. But it doesn't seem to travel down the leg like i've read sciatica does. I suppose it doesn't make much difference what it is, and i assume at 33 weeks it's too late to bother getting a referral to a physio or something.

cartoontrickster · 09/10/2013 16:52

keep my doc thought I had spd did till he examined me. basically he pushed on my fanjo bone and asked if it hurt! prodded my tummy about and decided it was muscular. so it might not be, best get checked over. isn't spd pelvic based?

ThedementedPenguin · 10/10/2013 10:12

How exciting maybe won't be long until Tuesday.

keep hope you find a house soon.

Yes keep I found out with ds. I'm such a nosy person and 40 weeks is a long time not knowing something which was impossible for me.

sparks that's some great advice.

Hope everyone is well.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 10/10/2013 10:15

Morning all!

How's the pain today Keep?

Are you all better now Trix?

Not long till Tuesday at all Pen!! Exciting times!

keepitgoing · 10/10/2013 10:33

pain's the same really, though a hot bath and hot water bottle did seem to ease it a bit yesterday evening. But then I'd been at home all day, so not doing much which probably helps too. I also did my exercise dvd, but left out a few exercises where it caused pain. I think it's important to keep doing them though.

maybe how was the MW yesterday? Anything interesting to report? How is the eating going now? - really hope you are managing to keep food down. I'm sure that won't have been helping with the tiredness. It'll feel amazing once you feel normal again, won't it!

pen how are you feeling?

solars are you feeling lots of movement now? For me once it started it was like the flood gates had opened and it was all the time. Last night after I woke up for a wee Kip decided to have a boogy for ages, which was most uncomfortable, esp when he stretched out under my ribs. I sometimes tell him to calm down, but then immediately feel bad and tell him to keep moving.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 10/10/2013 10:39

Woohoo to deliveries Keep!! What else are you waiting on? I'm sorry to hear your back is still bad Sad have you tried swimming for some relief?

MW went fine, nothing exciting. Though they did chase the hospital for my consultants appointment which they have arranged for 20 minutes after my 20 week scan Hmm. MW said it would just be the 'golden handshake' and then discharged back to her. She did tell me the reason IVF is classes as high risk though. Apparently it's due to a largely increased risk of hypertension. Interesting.

Food is definitely going better. I think the medication is massively to blame for the tiredness too. I'd love to feel normal again, though if I'm honest, I've resigned myself to not feeling 'good' throughout this pregnancy. But that's ok, I'm still really enjoying it Smile

ThedementedPenguin · 10/10/2013 10:42

keep there's nothing worse than the stretching out in the ribs, it's so painful. Can't wait to feel the moving but I'm not looking forward to that.

I'm really good, although tired. 2-3 night wakenings are not fun. Just hoping ds starts to sleep through soon as I'm not sure I'll cope with a baby wakening at night and ds.

SweetieTime · 10/10/2013 16:30

Keep sorry Kip has been causing you aches and pains. I suppose as there is less room he/she has to go somewhere. I loved putting all the washed teeny tiny clothes away too. I keep going into the nursery and just looking at all the little things just hung up in the wardrobe. I know I am a saddo.
Twins movement is pretty much constant now. Sometimes it is both of them, other time it is one or the other. I often wake up in the night for a pee and one of them is doing a jig. I can see my clothes move too now which is really weird, I spend ages wondering where it will move next.

Maybe glad things are going better on the food front, hopefully you will go from strength to strength now. How is your bump coming along? You must have started to show by now.

I have worked from home last few days as I went into the office Tuesday and was totally wiped out by the experience. I had to go to bed at 8.30 and still struggled to get up at 7am the next morning. I have handed over my project now so am just helping out other colleagues for the next 3.1 weeks.

This might be TMI close to tea time so please feel free to skip this bit. I cut my toe nails and gave downstairs a trim as I am not sure I will be able to reach for very much longer. I hope it lasts me through to the double sneeze. Gosh the things we do, I am sure midwife wouldn't even blink an eye at the most unkept of lady gardens. On that note I will leave you all to it Wink
