Welcome dobedobe, how did you feel at the dating scan? Ok? I know a lot of us feel like the time is going slowly at the moment, I think I would have cried if I'd found out I was 4 weeks less than I thought!

Had a mental dream last night. Dreamt I was 9 months pregnant, but instead of my stomach being a bump, it was just like there was a thin layer of skin over the baby so I could feel it and even hold it whilst it hadn't been born. Very odd!

9 weeks today and I've graduated to the size of a grape. Woohoo.

randdom · 27/09/2013 08:55

I feel awful. I went out last night for food with my husband and sister in law and could barely eat my food as I felt so bloated. This morning at work I was almost sick and I had to go and get something to snack on fast otherwise I think i would have been. I am hoping that these are all signs that this is progressing but I just feel rotten.

I am also slightly worried about what happens if I do start vomiting at work. As I work in a healthcare environment I am meant to go home if I am sick but clearly this isn't an infective thing... any suggestions?

moominleigh94 · 27/09/2013 09:21

Parents are coming today and have asked to take OH and I out to dinner to talk things over.... I am just hoping and praying it all stays civil between them, because we're going to one of my favourite restaurants and I'd actually like to eat there again and not get kicked out for a shouting match... Hmm

mumof2aimingfor4 · 27/09/2013 09:55

randdom how do you travel into work? Could say really bad journey and travel sickness?!

dobedobedo · 27/09/2013 10:10

Thanks for the welcome! I'll add myself to the stats thread when I work out what all the abbreviations mean.

impatientlywaiting I was just glad there was a baby there with a heartbeat. All I could see for the first minute was a big black space and no baby - I was gutted. Then there was a little bean with a heartbeat. So it's all good!

BoogiesBunny · 27/09/2013 10:46

Oh thistle I want a clear cut symptom like that - jealous!

thistlelicker · 27/09/2013 11:47

Boogie! Apart from the taste in mouth and sore boobies I'm symptom free!!! 3 weeks today til booking!

AliOh · 27/09/2013 11:51

Jealous thistle that you have a date for booking appointment! I want mine!! (throws tantrum) haha, I am most definitely ringing the midwife next week if they don't get in touch in between.

dobedobedo · 27/09/2013 11:59

I've had my booking appointment already! But that was when I thought I was 12 weeks Blush

I found it quite scary actually! Lots of talk of medical tests and blood tests and labour and stuff. I was so focussed on discovering I was pregnant, all that other stuff didn't occur to me yet!

thistlelicker · 27/09/2013 11:59

Booking and scan on the same day!! Plus I'm working that day also! I think works going to be awkward regarding appts

impatientlywaiting · 27/09/2013 13:08

Dobedobe, it must have been a relief when you saw the baby and heartbeat. Think I was unconsciously holding my breath at the start of mind til I saw everything was ok.

randdom · 27/09/2013 14:14

Thanks mumof2aimingfor4, unfortunately I drive in so I don't think that they could buy it. I am on call this evening so will be hear until 18:30 but happily I seem to be feeling a bit better now.

moominleigh94 · 27/09/2013 14:26

Meal went really well, parents both hugged OH and said they were past being angry and couldn't see the point of it, my mum is excited and my dad won't admit it but I think he is too. Lovely relaxed meal, lots of laughing and smiles :)

My booking in is on Tuesday Grin I'm really excited!

mumof2aimingfor4 · 27/09/2013 14:32

moomin parents always come round to the idea, glad yours did so quickly. I was the same age as you when I fell pregnant with my first, they just find it difficult to get their heads round the fact that their baby is going to have a baby!

mumof2aimingfor4 · 27/09/2013 14:35

randdom glad your feeling better. My nausea seems to be getting worse :( but haven't actually been sick which is the main thing.

AliOh · 27/09/2013 14:37

Jealous too moomin although I know when I have my booking in all I want is my scan! I'm so impatient! So just focusing on getting to twelve weeks at the moment (and only just over 4 more to go - yay! :)) Am I right in thinking that after 12 weeks appointment are fairly regular - every 4 weeks or so? I hope so as then time will (hopefully) pass quickly :)

mumof2aimingfor4 · 27/09/2013 14:45

AliOh if first baby then yes they see you every 4 weeks I believe and then it goes to every two weeks then weekly the closer you get to your due date (I think).I wasn't very good at going to appointments with DD2 and will probably be even worse this time round!

AliOh · 27/09/2013 14:47

mumof2 that's the first thing my mum said to me 'aww my baby is going to have a baby' and then she cried - they were happy tears though. I'm the youngest of 3 girls and my eldest sister is 35 and this will be her first grandchild so she is naturally over the moon!

mumof2aimingfor4 · 27/09/2013 14:58

:) My DD1 was the first great grandchild in both familiess and were now developing no3 and OH's side still havent had any!

mumof2aimingfor4 · 27/09/2013 14:58

Your little one will be spoilt rotten!

lolablu · 27/09/2013 15:02

we are going to need a new thread soon huh? my booking appt is on tuesday too. my lump is now a blueberry.. 7 today. when someone starts it could they add the stats thread into it so it keeps it easy to find and stickifies it?

AliOh · 27/09/2013 15:03

Oh yes he/she will be. First grandchild on DP side too so definitely going to be spoilt!

AliOh · 27/09/2013 15:05

Good idea lolablu Can't believe we will need a new thread - we've managed to get through this one in less than two weeks!! Shock

moominleigh94 · 27/09/2013 15:08

This baby is the first grandchild on either side of the family, and will be the first great grandchild on OH's side Grin

impatientlywaiting · 27/09/2013 15:29
