In my baby book, written under "my favourite drink", is fennel juice. It's probably vile!

Jolleigh · 11/09/2013 21:07

Why hello Sunshine Grin

Not great on the what happens at 16 weeks front as I'm not there yet. Hope you're having an easy time of things so far though.

IceNoSlice · 11/09/2013 21:08

Just to go against the grain on change bags... I got one when preg with DS and did use it for the first few months. It is good having compartments when you suddenly need to remember more bits and bobs, and avoids rootling around.

But I've downsized loads now. I have a ziploc bag containing couple of nappies, a small pack of wipes, a mini sudocrem pot (one thing the bounty pack is ace for), a muslin and a spare baby gro and jumper. This goes in a rucksack or normal large handbag depending on what I'm doing. Together with a beaker, some snacks and a couple of small toys. I'll probably just add some smaller nappies and clothes to this for the next one.

Jolleigh · 11/09/2013 21:09

Mummy - I hate fennel or anything remotely aniseed-ish so I would probably find it vile. Would be intriguing to try the juice nowadays though...sounds like gaviscon for babies lol.

BakingEating · 11/09/2013 21:11

Wow, I went away for a long weekend and it's taken me days to catch up. Very excited about the buggy talk, although I had a shock when I saw the prices of some brands... possibly they should be cheaper for the sake of our unborn babies' health, surprises like that are surely not good for us :-) Scan tomorrow, then hopefully I can tell everyone the good news.

Prambo · 11/09/2013 21:21

Please come back, Sunshinemeg! I had just woken up in a grotty mood and I presumed you were some random parachuting in for advice without introducing herself. You'll love everyone here (except me 'cos I'm a twat, clearly) Sad

justmuddlingthroughit · 11/09/2013 21:52

Evenin' all,
Just popped in quickly to say hi, because I should be doing other things but couldn't resist a quick peek!

baking, good luck for your scan tomorrow. I have mine too, so will let you all know how it went. Pretty sure I'm not the Martian twin-mummy though... painauxraisin's is tomorrow as well I think, so good luck to you too if you're here!

OwlinaTree · 11/09/2013 22:17

Lyra sorry you are having such a difficult time. You sound very together, I hope it all calms down soon.

saggy totally know where you are coming from, hope to hear from you more when you feel more confident. Good luck with the tests.

ice the dress is lovely. pram Congrats on 3 years.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 11/09/2013 22:28

Good luck to all the scanees for tomorrow! Can't wait to hear the good news Smile

Hope everyone else is ok, sorry for lack of personals

OwlinaTree · 11/09/2013 22:30

Joll my local town had a breastfeeding workshop which was quite useful, a midwife ran it and told us a bit about what to do, tips, etc. I'm planning to go again. It was at the Surestart centre.

Welcome sunshine hope you come back!

Have had another busy day, work just piling up and after a 10ish hour day just can't face any more when I get home. I'm guessing a Working Sunday is looming.

x0gawjus0x · 12/09/2013 06:29

Im doing 12 hrs sunday owl we only get paid normal rate too ;(

BakingEating · 12/09/2013 07:23

Good luck fellow scannees, Just and Raisins, heading off for my appointment now!

sunshinemeg · 12/09/2013 08:00

Sorry if people felt I was just a random, this thread goes quite fast and I only really get a chance to check in once a day due to being busy with work. Just getting ready for my appointment, I have a high risk of pre eclampsia so am being consultant led, will find out if that limits my options or not, also going to ask about when I join various classes. This is baby number one so feeling very green in my knowledge Hmm

Rockchick1984 · 12/09/2013 08:10

Don't worry Meg we'll all remember you now as the one Pram bullied Wink If you are high risk of PE I'd be asking if you will get additional scans, extra appointments towards the end to check your blood pressure, if they will want to induce early if no signs of PE (not sure if these would be questions for midwife or consultant) and also when you will be seeing the consultant, and how often.

Good luck today's scannees!

TotalShock · 12/09/2013 08:20

Meg Hope your appointment goes well and you remember all the questions you want to ask. The thread does move so fast I can hardly keep up !

Just raisins and baking good luck with your scans and anyone else I may have missed x

Jolleigh · 12/09/2013 08:20

Best of luck sunshine. Try to let us know how you get on. Glad you've not been scared away Smile

MummyPig24 · 12/09/2013 08:21

Good luck to the scanees and welcome to Meg!

lumpylumps · 12/09/2013 08:28

Morning all!!! Crap nights sleep, crazy dreams and stupid bladder kept waiting me up. Ooh and dhs hideously smelly farts!!!!!

But disappointed today, one of my closest friends is having a really rough time at the minute so I thought I'd treat her. I've told her I'm taking her out on Sunday and have booked us into a posh hotel for afternoon tea. I went out with another friend for tea last night only to find that she'd done exactly the same thing a couple of weeks ago. I know it'll still be a nice surprise and a treat and we'll have a lovely time but it's already been done and I feel like I'm copying, even though I had absolutely no idea they'd already been!!!!

Good luck with the scans today. And welcome back sunshine

RaspberrysAndIcecream · 12/09/2013 08:36

Hi everyone - not been here for a few days. Been back at work and its been a bit crazy!! You guys can talk tho!!! Grin

It's my day off today and our scan 2moro - anyone else got a scan after that or am I the last?! I'm nervous.

Good luck to those having scans today!! Hope you all have a good day and update us later!!

I've not looked at much in the way of baby stuff, I like the mountain buggy jungle and the jané range of prams.
My boss has said once I've had my scan she's letting me lose in her loft to have my pick of what they've got - it was all stuff that they had for the boys I look after, it's all lovely stuff. If I have their phil and ted pushchair it'll influence what pram we buy - a three wheeler is great round here for "off-roading" in the country - we'll buy something smaller for around town.

Congratulations pram on 3 years sober Thanks

Whose little one started school (on phone & can't scroll back) I hope they've settled in ok.

BNmum · 12/09/2013 08:54

I still havent managed to catch u on all the news but im getting there.

Good luck to anyone having scans.

I'm so sorry to hear about the puppy dog.

Congrats pram on reaching such a milestone.

I hope that whoevers xp has seen sense and stopped being such a dick.

Have you seen the mountain buggy mini for around town raspberry?

Jolleigh · 12/09/2013 08:54

I have another scan on Tuesday because Alien was too small to reveal anything last week Smile

LyraSilvertongue · 12/09/2013 09:08

Fgs, just wrote a long post and it's disappeared. Fine, I'll write it out again Hmm

Good luck Meg. I'm also under consultant-led care because I'm soooo old! Grin

And good luck scanees. I wanna see lots of pics on fb later.

I've got my boys off to school and now I'm relaxing with a coffee and t'internet. My new maternity clothes have been delivered to our Next store so I'll go into town later to pick them up. I think I'm going to have to buy a few more things because most of my normal clothes are tight and uncomfortable already.

Edamame · 12/09/2013 09:13

My scan is tmrw Rasperrys. I had a dating scan about 3 weeks ago - tmrw is the nuchal one.

Small dilemma - we can find out the sex tomorrow (all other things being well) because we get the results of the Harmony blood test and they can look for sex chromosomes as well ... I don't want to, DP does. What to do?

I am really enjoying not knowing, just being pregnant (despite the discomforts). This is quite unlike me - normally I like good, solid, well-researched FACTS. But I feel utterly blessed to be pregnant and in a state of grace. And I'm soooo not ready to unleash my numerous and deep-seated psycho-sexual neuroses on the innocent unborn (just yet). Maybe I just need to explain that to my fella. Sorry for thinking out loud...

HotCrossPun · 12/09/2013 09:15

Best of luck to todays scanees, let us know how you get on!

What are you all keeping your scan photos in? We've got loads now, and they are in an envelope because I don't know where to put them!

I was looking for some kind of maternity book but I can't find one anywhere.

LyraSilvertongue · 12/09/2013 09:28

Hotcross, baby record books usually have an envelope in them for scan pics. My DC's one did. I haven't bought one for this one yet but I will soon.
