Jolleigh · 11/09/2013 19:38

Much better spelling there than I managed Edamame !

rescoonetwothree · 11/09/2013 19:43

haha jol well at least you didnt have to try all three together then!

dp gone to fetch a large dominos each for dinner, i wish this baby would stop forcing me to eat such things Wink

sunshine no ideas on questions to ask at your appointment as i always think of them and forget to write them down, I'm sure someone will come along with some brilliant ones, watching with interest!

Jolleigh · 11/09/2013 19:44

grey - I certainly appeared to be at the time. I do consume a lot of dairy nowadays though so that would probably disprove the theory. I do have mild (in my opinion) IBS...diagnosed age 9. And had to have a gall bladder removal at age 14 due to a culmination of 19 calcium based gall stones. I've had chronic indigestion since that was removed and in order to not have very painful 'episodes' drink a lot of milk and eat a lot of carbs to always protect my stomach lining against the bile. Whatever I have does seem manageable by diet, just doesn't really aid weight loss!

Edamame · 11/09/2013 19:44

I cannot get over the fennel juice.

Prambo · 11/09/2013 19:54

Sunshinemeg, I'm not even going to answer your question until you have the decency to say hello and introduce yourself.

Rockchick1984 · 11/09/2013 20:01

Gaw can't click your link but I love the yummy mummy bags, DH got me one as my first Mother's Day prezzie (I suppose technically DS got me it!) so debating if I should keep it or get a new one :)

rosyryan · 11/09/2013 20:02

Pram Meg introduced herself on Saturday, don't be so aggressive! Grin

LyraSilvertongue · 11/09/2013 20:07

Fennel juice? What an odd choice!

It did, Edmame, thanks for asking. And thanks for your kind words everyone else who commented. It's been nice to take my mind off things chatting with you lot.
I was a bit snappy with poor DP when he called earlier because I was in a bad mood. I shouldn't take it out on him, especially as I only get to actually speak to him once a day. Only five days to go, not that I'm counting or anything Wink

Grey, a whole large pizza each?! You pig! Wink Stupid mobile phone companies haven't announced their iPhone 5S tariffs yet so I'm going to have to be patient. Grrr!
I had a Spanish omelette for dinner with chorizo, shallots and mushrooms in it. It was delish but I'm stuffed. Slowly but surely moving away from the beige food.
I'm also having a small glass of wine but sipping it slowly and savouring every drop. It really is very nice.

Sunshinemeg, you really should introduce yourself first but welcome anyway Smile No advice really on 16-week questions. Depends if there are any issues you feel you need to raise.

LyraSilvertongue · 11/09/2013 20:07

Oops, sorry sunshine. I retract what I said Grin

x0gawjus0x · 11/09/2013 20:07

Ahhh its lush rock theyve got some lovely ones but that was my fave! Bees & cupcakes :D bit of an impulse buy lol, swinging crib and changing bag so far :P

IceNoSlice · 11/09/2013 20:09

Just to echo Lyra for Joll and Hottie. People are very vocal about BFing not working out, but often just get on with it if it works (apart from the missionary types but I only met one of those and she was a bit weird in other ways too, so I didn't keep in touch).

I BF for 9 months, had no real problems. It took me a while to get used to doing it in public but, when I realised you get a lot more looks when the baby is crying than you do BFing that made it easier. Most people don't even notice - it's quite funny when someone does notice and does a double take then tries to pretend they didn't. I had no negative comments ever, only some positive ones from old ladies Grin

LyraSilvertongue · 11/09/2013 20:14

Ice, I probably almost suffocated my two sometimes in my attempts to bf discreetly Grin But when DS2 was tiny I was feeding him while pushing DS1 on a swing with the other arm and nobody noticed. I did have a coat on, which helped.

Jolleigh · 11/09/2013 20:25

I'm told that fennel juice settles the stomach by the way...not quite as random as it sounds.

rescoonetwothree · 11/09/2013 20:27

lyra thats so cute!

gaw ooh lovely! starting to feel more real now?!

i love the storksak elizabeth, but they're so overpriced for what they are - i do really like this bobby one and it's a lotttt cheaper but would have to see it in real life www.johnlewis.com/storksak-bobby-changing-bag-black/p459836

saying that the pacapods even though theyre expensive look actually practical, have so many pockets I'm tempted just for that but the designs actually aren't very nice, i'd just want black handbag style which they don't seem to do! id be more happy to spend that much money on something that had that many nooks and crannies aha

lumpylumps · 11/09/2013 20:29

Crickey, that was a bit harsh, that's sunshine scared off!!!!

ice love the dress

pram yey on the 3 years. What an achievement, how your life must have changed in the last 3 years.

I'd love to bf, I haven't had much luck in the past, ds1 ended up at being re admitted the day after we were discharged after losing 13% of his birth weight and ds2 was heading in the same direction so I I didn't really try, I just expressed and bottle fed for 10 days. I need more support and input but no one seems to want to give it!

rescoonetwothree · 11/09/2013 20:29

oops posted too soon! link should have been www.johnlewis.com/storksak-bobby-changing-bag-black/p459836 too

otherwise i'd end up just getting a nice black bag from topshop or something and some of those dividers and little bottle bits etc from ebay

BNmum · 11/09/2013 20:44

Hi ladies, I haven't had chance to log on for a few days and I've got 12pages of news to catch up on!

I love the storksak Elizabeth too grey. When I was overdue and fed up to the back teeth of being as fat as house with DS I crumbled and bought one (even though I couldn't really afford it). I've pretty much used it every day for the last 2.5years and plan to use it with #2 (i've got to get my monies worth). It still looks great.

Prambo · 11/09/2013 20:46

Ugh. I'm such a witch. So sorry, Meg Thanks

MummyPig24 · 11/09/2013 20:46

Joll my mum used to give me fennel juice. But I don't know if I was bf or not. All the mothers round here breastfeed so it's totally normal and there's loads of people to ask about it. I had a rough time last time but they were extreme circumstances and we were totally in the minority with the unfortunate combination of problems. I'm confident things will go better this time and I will make full use of the help available.

I don't know about changing bags yet, they are so expensive!

Jolleigh · 11/09/2013 20:51

Not just me then! Glad to find another fennel baby Mummy Grin

rescoonetwothree · 11/09/2013 20:52

ooh bn thats interesting, thank you! you're tempting me, if i get that much use out of it i'd definitely consider it more, will have to go and have another look i think!

HotCrossPun · 11/09/2013 20:55

Welcome sunshine. And good luck for your appointment. Re you set in the kind if birth you'd usually want? Maybe you could discuss your options and ask questions abut your local maternity services.

And I hope you haven't been scared off, we aren't normally so unfriendly Grin

HotCrossPun · 11/09/2013 20:55

Ideally, not usually!
