Hot I had this one last time, but was so rubbish at filling it in that I'm not bothering this time! Have got a gorgeous wooden box that I've kept DS's scan pics, hospital bracelet, maternity notes and going home outfit in, so am going to get another one for this baby.

rescoonetwothree · 12/09/2013 09:42

good luck scanees!

hot mine are also in an envelope, i think I'm going to just get a little cute wooden box or something, someone was saying they fade or something so may be worth making it digital if you haven't already just in case!

Jolleigh · 12/09/2013 09:50

You know when something disproportionately pisses you off?

I worked from home yesterday. A girl I work with had seen my new hair on Facebook and came in and told the office I've had a perm. In apparently a none-too-flattering way. I've worked with her for years and evidently that pic is the first time she's noticed I have curly hair.

I wouldn't mind if it hadn't come from someone with such horrible hair herself. Luckily she's not here today or I may have started a conversation about how weird it is that years down the line, her hair dresser still hasn't had time to fix her horrible dye job or tell her she should be using conditioner for her frizzy curly hair.

HotCrossPun · 12/09/2013 10:02

Oooh, thanks Rock I'm going to order that one.

LyraSilvertongue · 12/09/2013 10:04

My sister bought me a cute "memory box" when DS2 was born. He's 9 and it's still empty BlushBlushBlush

LyraSilvertongue · 12/09/2013 10:04

Is it weird that I've kept all of DV's baby teeth? I have a little bag full of teeth somewhere Grin

LyraSilvertongue · 12/09/2013 10:05

Ugh, not DV, DC.

Edamame · 12/09/2013 10:19

Hmm, dunno Lyra, it's a fine line between 'treasured memories' and 'voodoo materials'

PainAuxRaisins · 12/09/2013 10:20

Just and Baking - how did your scans go? I just got back from mine and very pleased to report it's a healthy singleton (phew!). My pictures are rubbish though (and not really worth sharing) - just a load of blobs. With DD1 her scan photos showed her with a smiley face and jazz hands so my expectations had been raised possibly a bit too high. Anyhow - I'm not too bothered about the pics - just happy to have seen the little one and hear a lovely strong heartbeat. Hope all the other scans today and tomorrow go well. We're still waiting for twins - who's it gonna be??

BakingEating · 12/09/2013 10:29

Scan went well, baby looked perfect and was having a stretch and a wriggle. So now to tell the in-laws, who don't know... any suggestions for the most fun ways of doing this? It'll have to be over the phone.

I keep my scan pics in my mutterpass, which is a little booklet with all my pregnancy medical details. That then fits into my handbag and goes everywhere with me. I was thinking it would be nice to put them in a photo album along with photos of baby's first few years, but who knows if I'll ever get round to it Hmm

BakingEating · 12/09/2013 10:31

Ooh, cross posted. Congrats Raisins!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 12/09/2013 10:33

Brilliant news Raisins!

I'm up tomorrow too Raspberry and Edmame!

Lyra. My mum has all our teeth. I also kept the pups, but I threw them out the other day

What a bitch Joll. Blatantly jealous Wink

NoMaybeAboutIt · 12/09/2013 10:34

Great news Baking! My in laws new from day dot, so no inspired ways of how to tell Im afraid!

MummyPig24 · 12/09/2013 10:58

Great news on the scans you two!

Dd started school properly today, she went off fine without me. I was so close to crying though. I have to pick her up in an hour, I'm also baby sitting my friends 11 month old whilst she is at the dentist later. I'm starving and feel sick. I need a snack!

LyraSilvertongue · 12/09/2013 11:00

Lol at voodoo materials, Edamame GrinI just couldn't bring myself to throw them away after the tooth fairy rescued them for me from under their pillows.

Great news raisin and baking Grin

I'm secretly hoping I have a hidden twin (unlikely). I don't have a lot of years to play with to provide this child with a playmate. DP would go into shock though Grin

FrankelInFoal · 12/09/2013 11:05

Glad to hear all the good scan news folks.

I guess the next step is 16w appointments, mine is next Thursday and I'm hoping I get to hear bump's heartbeat.

Anyone else developed nicknames for their baby's yet? DH and I have fallen into a habit of referring to him/her as whatever fruit/vegetable he/she relates to size wise according to my pregnancy book. This week is orange Grin

liberuna · 12/09/2013 11:08

baking here's the speech my OH gavd to his parents

"I wanted to give you a special present
Something that you can play with, one that will last and something home made"

MummyPig24 · 12/09/2013 11:16

Frankel our baby has been called Nando for ages. Dh came up with it. It makes me want a Nandos!

I've booked my flu jab but not my 16 week appointment. I have to do it soon though because she only works at the surgery one day a week and she gets booked up quick.

RaspberrysAndIcecream · 12/09/2013 11:19

I've just picked up my notes from the local hospital ready for the scan in London 2moro, I'm so scared now. I could have cried in the hospital just sat thinking what if?! Sorry - probably I'm a hormonal wreck now. But bloody hell - this wave of emotion has just got me.

MummyPig24 · 12/09/2013 11:21

Well I just called and she has nothing left for my 16 weeks. I've been put on the waiting list but I suspect that I will be seen a few weeks late.

LyraSilvertongue · 12/09/2013 11:22

Frank, mine's an avocado this week Grin

Raspberry, is this scan for a special reason? If it's a routine scan, there's no need to worry.

rosyryan · 12/09/2013 11:28

Great scan news Baking and Raisin.

I'm up tomorrow as well, so there will be a good bunch of us turning into basket cases tomorrow morning.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 12/09/2013 12:12

I think I already am Rosy Wink

How annoying Mummy. My MW is the same, she only does 3 hours a week at my surgery. But you can book among in advance, so made sure I got in.

My bean is called Ernie. Following embryo transfer, we gave him. Name straight away, as I hated saying 'it'. So Ernie the embryo he became Grin

Magpieblue · 12/09/2013 12:14

Hi everyone. Before anyone pounces on me, could I gently remind you that I introduced myself about 10 threads back and my contributions so far have mainly been related to constipation and crisps (which may or may not be related).

Not really been thinking about babies these last few weeks. Apart from about two days' bum-blockage, I haven't had any symptoms at all and I had convinced myself something had gone wrong. But had first scan at the weekend and there is a jumpy little being in there (just the one) so now I finally feel pregnant. Due date now 19 March.

Still need to catch up on all the threads but I'm sorry for poorly pups, and anyone dealing with twatty ex or current partners. Hope everyone else is ok.

RaspberrysAndIcecream · 12/09/2013 12:16

Routine 12 week - been sent to London as family history of anencephaly (my mum lost 3 babies to it) had an 8 week at the fetal medical centre and all was ok at that one. It's in the back if my head that if anything is wrong, it'll be picked up 2moro. Natural born worrier me!! Just need 2moro over and done with. It's been on my mind since we started ttc.

So 2moro it's me, Edam, rosy and NoMaybe
Have I missed anyone? Think I've missed someone, sorry Cake

Funny as people are talking about 16 week midwife appointments, that's another 3 weeks off for me!!!
