Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I've been horribly absent lately, just can't seem to find enough hours in the day to keep up with this thread, it moves so fast and I'm still so knackered in the evenings I barely have time to eat and catch up on Downton/GBBO/Midwives once I've got home from work, picked up DS and put him to bed as I seem to need to be in bed myself by about 9pm still!

Anyway, Dawn I am having similar problems with severe discomfort in my pelvis/lower back/shooting down the back of my thighs sometimes. Always linked to doing too much lifting/bending with my very heavy 19mo DS. DH told me yesterday I am covered under his work BUPA scheme, so I've got a referral from the GP (he did it over the phone which was good) and fixed my first private physio session up for Friday which I'm looking forward to. I'm pretty sure it's SPD/PGP and I'm trying to do all the things they recommend to keep it under control but hoping some manipulation from a physio will also help.

heidihole I can relate to that feeling - we have one DS already and I know in my heart of hearts I sort of hope we have a girl this time, although I feel 99% sure it's another boy. I always imagined having a mother-daughter relationship so will have to try really hard not to be disappointed at the scan in a couple of weeks. On the plus side, DS is such a little character, I do love the idea of him having a little brother and them getting up to mischief together!

Marzi I noted in my diary with my last pregnancy that DH felt his first proper moevment from the outside at 21 weeks. I'm 18+5 now and only in the last few days have I started feeling what I think are tiny movements. Hoping they get stronger soon.

On another note, does anyone know when we can get hold of our MATB1 forms?

tinypolkadot · 24/09/2013 14:39

I saw that too marzipanned I was so scared for the baby! Good luck this afternoon Smile

ras105 · 24/09/2013 14:51

...goes off to watch midwives.... :)

laura0007 · 24/09/2013 14:55

Loves I got my matb1 form at my 20 week scan. Still don't know when to take mat leave from. I'm thinking (hoping) I can work until 39 weeks so that means more paid time off with my snuggly baby. But we shall see.

Sassy20 · 24/09/2013 14:57

I just watched Midwives too - it was so scary and was so glad when the baby cried. X

LovesToBake · 24/09/2013 14:59

Woah, there was a Midwives episode last night? Thought it was on Tuesday nights after GBBO...?

Sassy20 · 24/09/2013 15:10

It usually is lovestobake but for some reason it was on last night instead!

laura0007 · 24/09/2013 15:18

It's on next Monday too

tinypolkadot · 24/09/2013 15:38

Were we meant to get our matb1 from our 20 week scan?!

EeyoreIsh · 24/09/2013 15:41

I'm expecting to get mine at my 25 week appointment.

laura0007 · 24/09/2013 16:22

I got mine from my 20 week scan. The midwife there gave me it. Thought you had to give it to your employer by 25 weeks?

EeyoreIsh · 24/09/2013 16:34

my employer has a form we need to complete by 25 weeks, and then send on the MATB1 as soon as we receive it.

laura0007 · 24/09/2013 16:36

Oh I see. Didn't know that. My boss asked for it so I gave her it as soon as I got it. Didn't realise she didn't need it yet

EeyoreIsh · 24/09/2013 16:44

I think we have to do the notification by 25 weeks, but we only get the form where I am at 25 weeks! I think as long as work have the proposed ML dates in writing that's fine.

Shropshiremummy2B · 24/09/2013 16:53

Lovestobake you kept a diary, maaannnnnnn that was a good idea- wish i'd done that from the off. Seeing as I can only just recognise movement when I lie in bed at 21 weeks, and I havent felt even remotely pregnant up until then, now is as good a time as any to start!

Re Matb1 - I had a dentists appointment last week so I rang the doctors and said can you put it in the post- and they did. Simple.

Cripes, I forgot I had to write a letter to officially inform them of my impending fattness- can I do it on company paper?!?

Wednesday Bump Day tomorrow! Getting geared up to don my body stocking and ASOS maternity parka combo.

Somanychanges · 24/09/2013 17:10

Hey Ladies,
Can someone tell me what info they have been given about flu jab? All I know is that at my booking in appointment I was told I should have it. But no one said when this was supposed to be. As winter is fast approaching I am thinking it might be good to have it soon but not sure if there is a specific time.

I am feeling really fed up. Sorry to moan but I have just had enough now. Still being sick and feeling sick HG although I should count myself lucky it's so much better than before. My friend asked me to go to an event in the evening I really want to go to but I just can't. By 4pm every evening I feel like I am going to collapse. I have upped my iron but no change. I am in bed each night as soon as my children go to bed so about 7ish. Last night I couldn't even make it to 7pm I had to go to bed before my children and get DH to sort them out.

I really do not remember feeling this exhausted last time I was working every day god knows how I managed that. I just feel like I cannot do another 5 months of this. Plus with that pelvic thing, heart burn and liver disease and severe itching to look forward to in the coming months I feel like crying.

Ok I have got it all out now phew! I can't moan to my husband as he is stressed with work and bills so excuse me whilst I use this moment as a therapy session Grin I actually feel better just for writing that down. And I know I should not be moaning about such things as there are so many terrible things people go through, so sorry.

Somanychanges · 24/09/2013 17:12

Shropshire I can't wait to see the body stocking haha!

Sassy20 · 24/09/2013 17:56

Somany - I totally sympathise. I feel much more tired than with my dd as well - I figure it's because we're looking after toddlers!

Your docs are prob starting flu jabs now. You're entitled to one so just call and ask them about it.

Hope you're feeling better soon. X

marzipanned · 24/09/2013 18:07

Loves thanks for that! I was planning to keep a diary in the form of letters to the baby but up til now it would've just been "hi baby, well you made me vomit all day AGAIN" so I didn't start. But now that I'm getting kicks I think I shall!

Shrops can't wait to see that ultra sexy combo. Hope you have a suitable soundtrack planned.

Somany don't apologise for moaning, this is the place to do it! You've had a lot to deal with - HG by itself is horrific, let alone also coping with the move, the school issues, and taking care of your two little ones. Tbh I reckon looking after kids is way more tiring than office work, you're always on your feet and fielding questions and trying to prevent the latest catastrophe/fight/meltdown!
I mentioned ages back that my MW told me they weren't giving pg women the flu jab but my GP said that was nonsense. There are usually adverts in my area when they start to get people going in for the jab, but just call up and ask.
Any time you feel you can't do another 5 months just look back at your favourite baby photos of your kids and think how lovely it will be to have another... and remind yourself that you never have to do this again. :)

The scan was brilliant, thanks for the good wishes! The little monkey was all over the place but we got all her measurements and all looking good. At both this scan and the last one she has done this funny stretch where she tilts her head back and really curves her spine - can't wait to see if she does it on the outside too.

laura0007 · 24/09/2013 18:29

Shrops, just think at least you won't have to shave your legs...or armpits to wear the body stocking! Grin

DawnOfTheDee · 24/09/2013 18:31

Shit. Did I miss a memo or something? When the feck did bodystockings come back? Do we all have to do a photo in a bodystocking? I don't think they do them in my size tbh....I'll have to make a special trip to the docks and nick a fishing net or something. Ladies...i hope you're all stocked up on eye bleach.....

Anyhoo - back is still killing me. This morning a just shifted my weight from one foot to the other and a bolt of pain shot through my lower back and I just stood there crying like a crying thing. I've got another gp appointment for 8.40 tomorrow morning.

misskatamari · 24/09/2013 18:51

Lol Shropshire - can't wait to see the body stocking/parka combo Grin

Somany - moan away, it's what were here for. I don't know how you do it managing HG and kids, I'm not surprised you're feeling down about it. You're doing amazingly though.

Dawn sorry you're still in pain Hmm I'm sure a sexy body stocking would help tho...errrr... Maybe not. I've got sharp pains in my belly at the moment which I think is a result of too much bending. I really need to remember that I am pregnant and cannot just move however I like anymore! I keep going to the supermarket and getting a basket and half way round I'm like "what are you doing woman get a bloody trolley you numpty!"

God - some awful news. A lady I work with had her baby last week and he is now really ill with pneumonia and I think an infection around his heart and so far isn't responding to treatment. I cannot even imagine what her and her dp are going through. Just praying her ds gets better, I feel so awful for them.

Nglad scans and things going well, boo for ill / fed up people... I'm just ticking along waiting for the bake off..!

I also keep getting baskets at the shops then realising I can't manage and today was the first day when I actually noticed its starting to get difficult to put socks on! I can do it but bump is getting in way and its really not very big!

Julietee · 24/09/2013 20:24

I just read in 'Bumpology' that if you have a gut feeling about the sex and have no strong preferences influencing you, you are 70% likely to be right!

I've been feeling all along that I'm having a boy, despite wanting a girl. I know this sounds daft but I'm comforting myself with what a lovely boy Michael Cera is in Arrested Development Blush
