Mummyboylan · 04/09/2013 20:39

Hi stom, I'm due December the 23rd :) always wanted children at Xmas x

Mummyboylan · 04/09/2013 20:39

When r u due? Is this ur first too?

Stom91 · 04/09/2013 20:41

Im due December 21st! Yea this is my first :)

I'm not too keen on an Xmas baby lol.
Hope your pregnancy is treating you nice! X

Mummyboylan · 04/09/2013 20:48

So far I have been really lucky and have no issues apart from being sore if I'm on my feet too long and the odd time he/she lies on my bladder and I can't pee!
Pregnancy is the strangest thing though!
How is your pregnancy treating you?

Stom91 · 04/09/2013 20:53

Awwh that's really good.

Awful actually can't wait for it to be over lol x

Mummyboylan · 04/09/2013 21:00

Oh no :( I wish I could offer pearls of wisdom on how to make it better :( December is hurtling toward us it will be over in no time x
Do u no wot sex ur little one will be?

Stom91 · 04/09/2013 21:05

Yeah not long autumn is on its way. I have my 25 week mw appointment tomorrow then I have one a 28 weeks and I think at 32 etc so hopefully that will break it up abit

If the scan was right we are having a girl! So
Happy. I always knew it was a girl.

We are nearly done with all the bits. Got everything second hand so haven't spend much. Just the last few bits to get :)
Do you know what your having? X

Deya · 04/09/2013 21:06

MsCat I do feel for you having to work in an unsupportive work environment! My work is very nice to me - so far I have a foot stool, new chair and a room to lie down if needed - and they all the time ask me if there is anything else I need. And even then I'm counting weeks left to work before maternity leave starts. Dunno how I would cope in your shoes...
Outbursts of your DH are nice though - it's just the way men care and protect :)
And if you can, try not to pay any attention to colleagues comments - she probably has not been pregnant so doesn't know better.

Hi Mummyboy!

Deya · 04/09/2013 21:10

Stom I have my 25 week appointment tomorrow too - we'll be able to compare the notes! :) I guess nothing special is going to happen though..

Stom91 · 04/09/2013 21:13

We shall indeed daley
The most exciting thing will be getting my matb1 form! :)

I'm going to ask about a water birth, and breast feeding. I know it's good for baby but it freaks me out lol x

Deya · 04/09/2013 21:16

Which one is the freaky one - breast feeding?
For me it would be the water birth that would freak me out! :D

Mummyboylan · 04/09/2013 21:20

R u O neg too stom? I've to get bloods done this week and then anti d at 28weeks and not sure what after that. I've had little contact with my m/w but I'm not sure I like her much anyway so it works well for me.
A wee girl! How fab! We went for the surprise option but I have my £ on a boy but I'm not bothered either way.
I've not go much. My friends have given me a few bits, Moses basket and a new born car seat but other than that I've nothing! I'm getting married at the end of the month so I've promised myself I'll get on it and get stuff after!

Stom91 · 04/09/2013 21:25

Aww congratulations :)

I'm A+ I actually didn't know until mw told me.
This will be my 3rd mw. They keep changing lol.

We don't have alot of money so we opted to buy everything second hand... I think that babies grow out of stuff quickly anyway so I don't see the point in wasting money... I got a lovely cotbed for only £40 it from John Lewis and was originally £200!

We were going to go for the surprise option but then the sonographer asked us a second time and we changed our minds! Lol
I was glad though as I was struggling to bond due to feeling so rubbish and wasn't sure if it was what I wanted etc so knowing has helped me bond with baby.
I'm really excited now :)

Mummyboylan · 04/09/2013 21:26

I'm looking into a water birth too. The only issue is the hospital that has a pool is 20mins away from the better equipped hospital if anything goes wrong!

Stom91 · 04/09/2013 21:30

Im quite lucky as the maternity unit is next door to the main hospital.. Though it's a half hour drive from my house which is going to be a killer when I'm in labour lol

Mummyboylan · 04/09/2013 21:35

Getting baby brain half way through wedding planning, I don't recommend! So glad I did a huge chunk of stuff before the woopsie but I wouldn't change it :) I'm with u in the second hand stuff. I try to get most stuff that way or if its new on a discount of some kind!
Finding maternity clothes has been a nightmare! How has everyone managed?

LadyMedea · 04/09/2013 21:36

itsilz I'm Confused about you not being eligible for JSA. You can normally sign on straight after finishing a degree so no idea why you wouldn't be eligible. Have you tried plugging in all your details into the official benefits advisor site? Might be easier than wading through leaflets.

Ebay! Lol got some nice stuff on there and the new look sales!

Deya · 04/09/2013 21:38

I'll be needing an anti-D injection too. I think the first one is at 28 weeks and then another one before giving birth?
I have had blood taken once only at the very beginning of pregnancy and there has been no mention that far of any other upcoming blood tests.. It's annoying that the system seems to be different for everyone as it gives no clue of what to expect ( apart from babies ) Grin

Stom91 · 04/09/2013 21:43

Silly question what's anti D injection? .
My notes say that blood is taken at 28 weeks.
I've had loads of tests and re tests due to them losing my tests!! Surprised I've got any blood left lol

Mummyboylan · 04/09/2013 21:47

As far as I know you should get bloods done at around 24/25 weeks. I'm lucky I'm bringing up the rear where having babies is concerned most of my friends have done this and had the same m/w as me. I agree with you deya I found out I was pregnant and had to wait 4weeks to see anyone just glad I had support round me and a brain to gather my own info or it would have all been super terrifying!
So far I have found eBay the best place but my trouble is getting things to fit on the bottom half :( but its good to get it cheaply and then move on expensive business maternity wear!

Deya · 04/09/2013 21:49

Anti-D is related to your and your partners blood group. I have a negative one, my partner has a positive. So if baby inside me is positive, my body might attack and reject him as he is seen as something alien to me. So they give the injection to prevent that from happening.
Forever grateful to modern medicine!

Stom91 · 04/09/2013 21:50

Ooh never knew that im A+ but I don't know what my dpis. I ddon't even know if he knows!

Mummyboylan · 04/09/2013 21:50

Anti d is for people who r O neg blood type be lucky u don't have to worry x they lost ur tests! Jings no easy having faith in nhs!

Deya · 04/09/2013 21:53

Mummyboy try wrap-dresses from any label ( or e-bay) for cheaper alternative to maternity wear. I have a few and wear them to work all the time. I'll pair the ones with long sleeves with maternity tights and bring on the autumn! + no need to worry about bottom half looking mahoooosive! :)
