Morning all

All was well at scan yesterday. Baby Seb is estimated to be 2lbs and 11 oz, bang in the middle of the charts and now facing head down. Gulp. Was sure he was still sideways on. Him being head down means there is less of a chance of him being breach, therefore more of a chance of me having to deliver normally. Which is what I want. But I know what a C Section involves. I dunno what labour is like lol.

Booked in for flu and whooping cough jab on monday. Nice. Hate, hate, hate needles. Don't mind bloods being done now but really hate needles.

Really struggling to get any amount of sleep now too. Going back to bed for an hour this morning am so tired and grumpy and fed up. Up and down for a wee every hour, DP up and down blowing his nose every hour, then I can't get comfy, then I'm too hot or too cold or whatever.

Want to get some housework done later and will be fit for nothing if I don't get some sleep. Feel really lazy though but needs must and all!

Last time I was pg I worked 14 hour days in a really physical job. Fuck knows how!

Alyssa1978 · 27/09/2013 10:43

Oh no stom that's a lot of needles in one day [shocked]
I've got a half hour to wait for last blood test and I've officially crashed after the sugary drink it was really sweet I expected it to look like lucozade but it was clear.

Only took 2 attempts to get blood the first time although when she gave up on the first and pulled the needle blood started to spurt out everywhere.....not nice Sad

so hungry

Glad the scan went well frouby

Alyssa1978 · 27/09/2013 10:44

Shock I mean lol

WhisperMen · 27/09/2013 11:11

Hello all Smile

Thought I was getting over this cold, but it's back with a vengance today. So me and DP are spending the day on the sofa watching Breaking Bad.

I had actual lucozade Alyssa I was glad as I know what that stuff is haha.

Know what you mean about the tiredness frouby Last night was the first night I only woke for the loo, not with stupid leg cramps, or just random awakenings. I slept till 9am which is a first, it's usually 6am or earlier.

That is a lot of needles storm I don't think I could handle that many in one day!

mumoftwoboysS · 27/09/2013 13:20

frouby lucky you to have a scan, sorry I can't remember but why do you get another scan? Great to know baby is head down too- I can't wait to find out if I'm on track re size when I have mw appt next week.

Funny not long after I moaned about not feeling much last night, baby gave me an almighty boot in the side! More active today but did treat myself to a coffee in costa so think that might be why!

I'm feeling better today so either the cold isn't going to develop properly or it's going to hit in a day or so!

Alyssa1978 · 27/09/2013 19:35

My drink was clear whisper it was a bottle of a glucose drink that tasted nothing like lucozade thank goodness as I hate the stuff but OMG was it sweet, I don't really have a sweet tooth, I'm more of a savoury type of girl Grin

frouby I have my last growth scan a week Monday and ill be 32 weeks then only 8 weeks hopefully to see bump in person. How many weeks are you now?

Has anyone gotten the results of their GTT test yet? Just checked my notes from hospital visit at the beginning of the week and the sugar in my blood was 3+

abcdemma · 27/09/2013 19:52

Oh jees dreading this cold that's going around :( Been cooped up for a week on sick leave so hopefully not come into contact with germs enough to catch it. Got flu jab next week and my Grandma says she's never had the partial cold I was expecting from it so that's all good.
I'm the same re. reduced movement some days. Yesterday I tried all sorts but just wasn't feeling him much, yet today I've got a right pummelling lol.
Got some mat jeans from Primarni today.... the most comfortable things I've worn in an age!! They only did super skinny which I was a bit narked about but in the changing room I could just about get away with them. They go properly halfway up bump and everything :) But had to buy a size 18 blouse to go over bump lol
MW never mentionned GTT test to me which hopefully means I'm a low risk Confused

Alyssa1978 · 27/09/2013 20:28

abc my midwife never mentioned it either, I was sent to hospital with raised bp and on the routine blood test I had sugar in it and because of a family history of diabetes which is one of the risk factors I have to get checked out.
Hopefully fingers crossed i hear nothing back, which means I passes Grin

violetbean · 27/09/2013 20:36

8.30pm on a Friday night and I'm tucked up in bed ready to sleep, exhausted. If you'd told me before I got pregnant that someday I'd be doing this I wouldn't have believed you Smile

Stom91 · 27/09/2013 21:05

violet I'm always in bed by 8 lol. Partly because my bed comfier than my crappy sofa and because the only comfy position I can get in I'd lying on my side.

I have to have the GTT test because I have polycyctic ovaries... I was really hoping I'd get away with it but nope. :( my Mw was really scatty at my 28 week appointment.. She didn't take any blood like it says they do. She didn't really know what she was doing.. :/

Just want Tuesday out the way. I'll be sick of the sight of needles by the end of the day lol

Roselau · 28/09/2013 06:24

aggggh why do I wake up so early on weekends?! it was 530 this morning uuugh. i'm really tired but I just can't sleep in! so annoying

WhisperMen · 28/09/2013 07:53

know that feeling rose I woke up at 5 Sad

Alyssa1978 · 28/09/2013 08:13

stom you definately should have had blood taken at 28 weeks Hun, mention it at your next appt or leave her a message, I can't remember what they checked for at my 28 weeks but I think she only took 2 vials.

Forgot to mention I had to start taking iron tablets as my count was low, I have to admit I'm not as out of breath as I used to be so maybe low iron was the reason for that?

So sorry rose and whisper about the 5am rise, it's awful when you can have a lie in but your body just won't let you, I've let dp have a lie in this am and I got up with the kids, however they did sleep till after half seven Shock

I feel absolutely knackered this pregnancy, is it my age 35 or just me? Lol

My ds1 was looking at my belly this morning and said baby in there, then asked where the door was for him to get out lol

itsliz · 28/09/2013 08:40

Haha, oh dear Alyssa! I'm dreading having to answer questions like that in future... What did you tell him?!

And it's definitely not just you feeling knackered! Everyone keeps telling me that I'm lucky to be pregnant at 22 as I'll find it all so much easier and have more energy. Some days I'm raring to go but most of the time I'm just too exhausted to do anything!

I may have to join the 5am club, too - couldn't get to sleep until 11pm, then woke up at 1 feeling poorly and again at 4am thanks to little bean who was having a proper party in my belly!
He was sticking his bum right out and wriggling and kicking like mad, probably the strongest I've ever felt him... Not sure what he was up to but it kept me and DP amused for a good hour or so! Took ages to get back to sleep after that as my bump was feeling really achey and heavy - has anyone else felt like that?

Managed to doze off again for a bit but I've now got to drag myself out of bed and look lively as we're going away for the weekend.

Hope you all have a lovely relaxing, stress-free weekend! Smile

Alyssa1978 · 28/09/2013 09:31

itsliz he's only 3 lol so I just told him the door will come when babies ready to come out lol. When he's old enough it's dp's job lol.

So glad it's not my age and being pg that's tiring me out but sorry anyone else is feeling tired.

NomDeClavier · 28/09/2013 11:01

I've got to say this one is harder than when pregnant with DS. I think it's just having a child to cope with on top of pregnancy, plus I was in much better shape before because I had a) time to go to the gym and b) hadn't spend 3 years pregnant/BFing which basically just sucks the life out of you. Next time I'm giving myself a break between stopping BFing and TTC again!

Chilli81 · 28/09/2013 11:37

Hi - Hope you are all as well as can be given the interrupted sleep, indigestion/heartburn and general exhaustion.
I had a flu and whooping cough double whammy yesterday and thought I dont really feel coldy, the arm where I had the whooping cough jab aches. I would ask the nurse/midwife to put it in the arm you dont sleep on if you are getting it.

MrsShrubs · 28/09/2013 13:23

Has anyone else had very light crampy feelings? I've had a couple today, feels like really really light period pains, no idea if this is normal at this point or not? I'm 29 weeks today.

Alyssa1978 · 28/09/2013 13:27

Hi mrs I've too felt cramps or a few weeks now, I'm 31 weeks on Monday. I remember this too with ds1 and 2 around this point.

As always keep an eye on any tightenings with the cramps or if they start to happen with any sort of pattern etc

MrsShrubs · 28/09/2013 13:41

Thanks alyssa makes me feel better, you never stop worrying during pregnancy do you?!

Stom91 · 28/09/2013 14:45

Alyssa she said she didn't want to price me twice lol.. But all of you have had a blood test at 28 weeks and then another for the GTT? Maybe she's included the 28 weeks test when I have the GTT test? I'm not really sure. Bit confused if im honest lol

Had insomnia last night was still wide awake at 3am.... DP talks in his sleep some of the stuff he says is so funny so was kept amused lol.

Stom91 · 28/09/2013 15:20

Prick me**

WhisperMen · 28/09/2013 15:33

I have to go for my 28 week blood test on monday and my Anti D injection. I had my 28 week appointment last monday, but as my one vein that can be used for taking blood was bruised from the GTT test on the friday before and my anti d injection had been delivered to the wrong health centre I had to reschedule it.

Not looking forward to the anti D injection. Anyone else had it? Does it hurt? Sad

MildredH · 28/09/2013 16:25

Nom- I'm impressed you're already thinking about "next time"! I have to say my desire for 3 DC has taken a serious bash since actually being pregnant!

froubylou · 28/09/2013 17:36

Afternoon all

Mum I'm lucky in that our hospital offers 3 growth scans if you have had a previous baby over or under certain weights. Because DD was a petite 5lbs 12 oz I get 3 extra scans. One at 28 weeks which I have just had, 1 at 32 weeks and 1 at 36 weeks. So get to see the little man a couple more times at least before he makes an appearance!

Going to take DD to the next one. Shes 9 so old enough to behave and I'm sure it will help her bond a bit. She came to the 20 week one as well but you could see a lot more on the 28 week scan so am sure she will benefit from it.

Mrs I have some crampy feelings from time to time. Usually due to trapped wind if I'm honest or constipation. Nice.

Must admit I've been a bit backed up for the last few days but a curry last night got things moving this morning. But am sure it was a dry run for labour! Ouch. Had to practise breathing and panting and everything. Dog even came up to check I was OK lol.

Just making yummy sausage casserole. All pre done sauce and veg from M & S but I don't usually cook on a saturday teatime. It's either picky stuff like quiche and salad and crusty bread or a take away. But had curry last night and chinese on thursday so fancied something wholesome.

And been and got my new laminate flooring today so that going down tomorrow so I can then get on with the rest of the house and some serious nesting lol. Going to Wilko's tomorrow whilst DP and his pal fit the flooring just to stock up on cleaning stuff for next week pmsl. How sad am I!
