I've not been on here for a while, no reason other than being a busy bee. Working in the 3rd trimester is bloody hard work. I'm 31 weeks tomorrow and have 4 weeks and 2 days left in work until mat leave Grin

Regarding weight gain, I was at the stone mark AGES ago so stopped weighing myself. Back to weight watchers 6 weeks post-birth for me.

I've been thinking about the birth a lot recently, scares me a bit. I spoke to my midwife about it at my last appointment and she was lovely, this is my 3rd baby and I'm sure I wasn't as anxious about the birth in either of my previous pregnancies.

I also have a HUGE bump, I look full term. And there's still 9 weeks until my due date, oh dear.

Alyssa1978 · 25/09/2013 22:57

Me too 2labs apparently I've looked full term for ages now Hmm

Well I ended up in hospital as my bp went 20 above normal and the doc at the walk in said I had protein in my urine.
So sent off to the Pau at my birthing hospital and they said no protein in urine and my bp had dropped back to normal Confused
Had to have the usual tests and they did a trace on bump and he's fine, after about 8 attempts they finally got some blood and when that came back it had sugar in it Confused so on Friday I have to have the GTT....so not looking forward to that. I'm a nightmare without my coffee on a morning and I hate lucozade Sad

tmi alert. Anyone else pooping a lot? I'm going like 3 times a day and I remember that happening a couple of weeks before I went into labour with ds2

MildredH · 25/09/2013 23:12

Quite the opposite I'm afraid Alyssa.. Going to invest in some bran flakes when current wheetos run out!

Is your bag packed Wink

LadyMedea · 25/09/2013 23:28

You are right nom extreme weight gain isn't good for anyone but generally a couple if stone is nowt to worry about, at least a stone of that is baby plus blood/uterus/fluid anyway.

2labs am envious you're already 31 weeks! But can understand your anxiety- even tho I've done it twice before its such an unknown- will it be quicker than the last or will a complication make it harder- just not knowing is the tough bit. But- the odds are in our favour I reckon as everything is pre-stretched ;-)

alyssa yep I'm 'going' a couple of times a day some days but have been from early on- I thought it was because I've been eating more!

So annoyed I'm coming down with a cold- my whole family have it so it was just a matter of time. Is it really ok to take paracetamol during pregnancy? Have a sore throat and headache. I guess this means I'll have to postpone my flu jab next week if I'm still feeling crap too...

Alyssa1978 · 26/09/2013 07:59

I took nothing with ds1 mum but I did take paracetamol with this one and ds2, midwife assured me it was perfectly safe, it must be cos I've took enough of it over 8 months lol Grin
I've been going normal all through pregnancy and I'm not eating any different if anything it's less than before
Confused

mildred I've not packed my bag yet but my dp is sorting out nursery and loading his car etc today as he's a bit worried i think......bless him.
Ooh 31 weeks on Monday, this bits going a bit faster now Grin

Alyssa1978 · 26/09/2013 08:01

And hope you're feeling better soon mum a cold is bad enough most of the time bit it feels like you've been hit for six when pregnant I think.
Flowers

mumoftwoboysS · 26/09/2013 08:30

Thanks alyssa, yeah it's hard enough looking after two when pregnant but being ill makes it extra tough. My mum only lives 20 mins away but doesn't think to give me a break sometimes, despite being retired Hmm MIL is so the opposite but lives on the other side of the world- said she so wishes she could take my ds2 to school (he's just started) whereas my mum- it wouldn't even cross her mind as something he might like and that's nice to do! Anyway, oops where did that bitching session come from? Maybe I can guilt her into helping out since she won't offer off her own back..

WhisperMen · 26/09/2013 08:31

I am currently on day 5 of a horrible cold mum it's not getting any better at all, if anything it is getting worse Sad MW said paracetamol and soothers/strepsils are perfectly fine as long as you stick to the guidelines on the packets Smile

I am so tired today. I've had very little sleep recently because of this cold and now my legs have started aching like mad as soon as I lie down regardless of if I have a pillow between them or not. I just want to lie on my tummy like in the good old days before I got upduffed Sad

froubylou · 26/09/2013 09:22

Morning all

Mum, don't feel a heifer love lol. I've put on about a stone and a half too now, half a stone in the last 3 weeks! Hope I'm not going to do 2lbs a week until the end lol. As long as you are fit and well normally and are eating fairly healthily I wouldn't worry too much. With 3 to run around after when your LO comes I'm sure the extra lbs will fall off, and if not we'll do fatbusting together in the New Year!

We've all had that horrid cold too. DP just in the midst of it which is worse than me and DD having it. Why he has to call to 'Sweet Jesus' as he sneezes (very loudly) at 2am is beyond me?

He also woke me up at 3.30am to tell me baby was kicking his arm and isn't he strong? WTF! Move your arm then dickhead. And we'll talk about it in the morning not when I'm supposed to be asleep. And I know he is strong. I feel him. Bouncing off my bladder which is a new fun game and one saved especially for when I'm just dropping to sleep. Another new fun game is if I lay on my back, kicking me up the arse, and whilst I'm washing pots, aiming a well timed and sneaky boot in my fanjo. Norty bebo lol.

Got a growth scan today at 10.30am. Looking forward to seeing him again even though he is norty lol. Just worried about trying to get parked anywhere near the maternity bit. There is a big carpark just outside for that bit that is pay and display but is always full with staff cars. The main carpark is about a 20 minute walk the other side of the hospital. Which is fine now but I don't fancy that at my 36 week scan. Especially if the weather is bad or slippy. So am setting off early (only 10 mins away) to give me plenty of time.

Have a good day everyone.

MrsShrubs · 26/09/2013 09:48

mum don't worry I've put on 16lbs and thought I was doing really well because that's in between the average gain for how far along I am. I've actually lost weight off my arms and face it's all gone to bump & looks like fluid at the top of my thighs. People keep saying I'm all bump so I don't think it matters too much as long as you don't pile on 14stone during the 9months or that you're deliberately not eating enough because you don't want to put on weight.

Sorry a couple of you are full of cold, nothing worse when you can't really take anything for it either apart from paracetemol.

Had a mare this morning, supposed to be opening up the office in London and turning the phones on for 8.30, wake up because baby boy was really booting me this morning and it's light whereas it's normally dark, look at the alarm clock and it's just flashing at me and of course we have had a powercut over night and it was 8.20am, OH was supposed to be in clinic and seeing his first patient at 8, got washed and dressed in 7 minutes flat but in the process have brushed my teeth too hard and gums are bleeding and keep getting the taste of blood now, through sheer luck with the trains managed to run/waddle in at 9.05am but now I feel all over the place and not at all with it. Feel really bad because I'm finishing at 1 today to go to my MW appointment.

itsliz · 26/09/2013 11:06

Oh no MrsShrubs, waking up early is such a horrible feeling isn't it?! Glad you managed to make it into work ok in the end though, hope the rest of the day goes a bit better for you!

Sorry to hear so many of you are feeling poorly at the moment Sad Being pregnant is hard enough as it is, without having to contend with other symptoms on top of it all!

I'm 26+3 today (so, so far behind the rest of you, haha!) so no idea how much weight I should have gained by now, but I think I might have to step on the scales later to find out just how huge I'm getting! I've lost weight on my hips and a little bit around my face from not drinking, but my thighs and legs have got really chunky!
I'd only just managed to get into a good routine at the gym and make progress with losing weight then I found out I was pregnant, so I'm looking forward to getting back into it next year.
I used to see women and their bumps striding along on the treadmills and told myself I'd be the same when pregnant... Not a chance though! I can't even fit into my gym gear, let alone find the energy to work out so I have no idea how they do it Hmm

Feeling even more exhausted than usual today - DP had the afternoon off of work yesterday to pick up some bits for his car and I decided to go with him on the journey since I had nothing better to do.
Not my smartest idea as we were on the road for 8 hours in total and it didn't occur to me that bump and I would get so uncomfortable on the way...! Won't be doing that again in a hurry!

itsliz · 26/09/2013 11:07

And by waking up early, I actually meant waking up late...!
(See, told you I was tired today!) Grin

WhisperMen · 26/09/2013 12:05

I am sat here full on sobbing my eyes out because the bin needs cleaning. The bin bag leaked and there is smelly bin juice at the bottom. Apparently this is enough for the waterworks. Who knows what is going on in my head.

kchapper5 · 26/09/2013 13:04

liz I'm the same edd as you and was just thinking how far behind everyone I seem.

whisper oh the hormones are terrible, I thankfully haven't had waterworks at all yet, I just have developed crazy anger issue's. Which included me storming out of John Lewis in a tantrum a 2 year old would be impressed by purely because the sales assistant said the pram I wanted was owned by someone on hollyoaks. Irrational much? Blush

itsliz · 26/09/2013 14:10

Oh kchapper5 that shouldn't have made me laugh so much...! Grin
That sounds like the sort of thing I'd end up doing, haha!

At least being a bit behind means that we can brace ourselves for what's to come and work out what's going to happen at each appointment.
I was tempted to join the January 2014 thread but their conversations seem to move so, so fast... And besides, you lot are all so lovely! I'd rather stay here Smile

Roselau · 26/09/2013 15:57

well hm. I feel frumpy and fat. I just arrived in Paris for my last business trip. They put us up at the Grand Hotel by the opera. If you don't know Paris, that's an uber swanky place where celebrities tend to stay. I'm not complaining, but didn't realize we were in the middle of the Paris fashion week. There is a fashion show at the hotel, paparazzi everywhere. Too many pretty and skinny people wearing Versace and Prada, and here I am with my one pair of black H&M trousers that still fit, an oversize shirt and my big bump. Thankfully I brought heels but I don't know how long I will last in them.

ugh I would've totally enjoyed this 7 months ago and now I'm dreading leaving my room, I'm so out of place. And I can't even have a darn drink to make me feel better. rubbish.

the positive is I've just enjoyed a nice long warm bath to get my back to hopefully feel a bit better after sitting 2.5 hours on the train, and am now waiting for the function to start. I really hope it does not go too late. conference all day tomorrow and I have a few really tough meetings to go through. bring on the weekend.

NomDeClavier · 26/09/2013 16:32

Ugh I hated Paris fashion week when I lived there and I wasn't pregnant (and was a size 8!). The French make all kinds of allowances for pregnancy abd fsshion though, its the only time you're allowed to let yourself go Wink. Let us know any celeb spots!

I'm definitely third trimester now, complete with needing the loo every hour or so. Really annoying when I leave the house to do the nursery run and realise halfway down the road I forgot to pee.

Hugs and healing thoughts mum! Being ill is never fun, being pregnant isn't a barrel of laughs, having children at home is tiring - put the three together and you deserve a medal!

whisper that would make me cry too. I hate, hate, hate bins when pregnant. I made DH do them all last time!

Stom91 · 26/09/2013 19:24

Wow these conversations go quick lol... Traveled 2 anda half hhours to dorset today to see family and my best friend... Only got a few ours with my best friend.. Just isn't enough!! Now another 2 and half half hours back... Its been a lovely but very long day. .. Got such a headache... Currently got my feet up on the back seat may even have a dose lol...

Saw family and my dad was making us all laugh so much I peed a little lol..... Oh the joys of pregnancy usually I'd be able to hold it in lol.. :S

Can safely say I'll be having a duvet day tomorrow lol.

Alyssa1978 · 26/09/2013 20:11

Lol stom enjoy your duvet day.

I'm going to have to stop eating soon and I haven't even started yet
I'm so not looking forward to tomorrow's test......I detest the taste of lucozade or anything like it Sad

MrsShrubs · 26/09/2013 20:41

stom that happens to me too, or if I cough too hard or sneezings always fun- got to love the side effects!!

Had my MW appointment and I'm currently 28&5 but I'm measuring at 27, does this make it more likely for you to go past your due date & be late?

Xenadog · 26/09/2013 20:59

Roselau, I know how you feel. I'm sick of wearing the same clothes to school (it's like a bloody uniform!) and actually out of work too as I have refused to spend too much money on pregnancy clothes. Fat and frumpy just about covers it.

I think all you ladies weighing yourselves are very brave, I haven't stepped on the scales since my first visit to the mw - I'm now 28+3- and if I can avoid them for the next 12 months I think I will!

Is anyone suffering from sleeplessness? I wake up at night to go to the loo and then can't get back to sleep for hours. No reason other than I am then awake. It's driving me mad and I'm tired all day then.

Also got the wretched cold which is doing the rounds - so ready for maternity leave to begin in November.

Alyssa good luck with the lucozade test tomorrow.

mumoftwoboysS · 26/09/2013 21:38

Thanks for the reassurance about weight gain! I think because I can't enjoy more of my fave drinks (coffee and wine) I'm substituting them with too much food- namely chocolate, biscuits etc.

Anyone find the movement/kicking can be loads for one or two days then very little? Not feeling much today from bubs Sad

Xenadog · 26/09/2013 22:22

mum I've had exactly that. A couple of weeks ago I felt almost nothing for two days but then the next day the baby was back to doing the riverdance! I did do count the kicks for a couple of hours and felt enough movement - though not as strong as it had been - to reassure me though.

It is worrying when things go quiet isn't it?

Stom91 · 26/09/2013 22:32

Yeah bubs has been really quiet today.. But I think that's because I've been busy.... I expect tomorrow she will have a party... Of when dp gets home she'll move.. She seems to know when he come home.. :)

Alyssa I have mines on Tuesday :( lucozade is awful especially at 730am!!
Plus i have my whooping cough and flu jab on the same day :(

So glad to be home. My bed is calling :D
