Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Ha, my Aunt told me about that mum, said she was “elbowing old biddies out the way to get to the good stuff”. Only 50% sure she was joking.

Had my meeting with the perinatal mental health nurse this morning, wasn't nearly as traumatic as I expected it to be, and she's going to set up CBT next month for me to deal with anxiety. Got my 28 midwife appointment this morning, so will no doubt cry like a wuss like I always do when getting my blood taken.

kchapper5 · 24/09/2013 13:25

Ooo good to know mum
Random question but whilst I'm pregnant I'm working on an office and every single office chair I sit on absolutely kills my coccyx. (No piles thankfully) even sitting on a pillow or cushion on the chair doesn't relieve it. To the point I'm struggling to stand up and sit down after an hour or so. Any ideas to help this? Or anyone else getting the same?

LadyMedea · 24/09/2013 13:44

kchapper5 I have a solution for you! My coccyx went at about 8 weeks and it was agony. I tried a regular cushion and a special wedge cushion with a hole cut out at the back - neither did anything.

I saw my lovely physio who suggested sitting on an exercise ball instead of a chair. Caused some giggles in the office but completely relieved the pain. Important to sit on the centre of the ball with your knees lower than your hips and as wide apart as you can get them to create a stable position.

I really would recommend the exercise ball but if you can't face the amusement of your colleagues the other suggestion from my physio was to take two small towels rolled up and place one lengthwise under each thigh - this also relieves the pressure on you coccyx.

Had my 28 week appointment today, third midwife I've seen so far, all seems fine, bump is now about the right size, yay! Had my whooping cough jab with the doctor too while I was at the surgery as they were able to fit me in. Such a tiny needle, was expecting a lot worse. Need to go back and get flu jab at some point, maybe will just do it at the next appointment (31 weeks).

kchapper, hope your office can help provide something more suitable. One of my friends had a chair / stool thing you sort of knelt on, she really loved it. Exercise ball idea sounds great too Smile

Had sausages and mash for lunch, yum!

Hi there, I just wanted to post a quick message to wish you guys all the very best and thank you for all your kindness and support. I'm going to post what's been happening with us in a separate thread as I'm afraid things haven't gone well, but I really don't want to bring you guys down or normalise it, so please don't feel you need to read it. Just thought I'd wish you lots of luck and love as I don't think I'll be about on MN for a little while. Take care, you'll all be brilliant mothers to beautiful babies, I know! xx

Morning all

Hesto my thoughts remain with you. I have replied on the other thread so won't repeat myself but just wanted to say I am thinking of you. Please let us know how you are doing if you can bear to. I imagine it must either help reading this thread or make it more difficult. If it does bring you some comfort to continue to post in here then please, please do. Although your girls were born early you were still due in december with the rest of us and are still part of this thread. You and your DP are still parents to december 13 due babies and you are still very much part of this thread. I know you have started your own thread where you have gotten some lovely, lovely messages of sympathy and support but you will still have all our support and love in here. xxx

Well I have finally finished decorating the kitchen/dining room. Just the new flooring to go down now at the weekend. Only thing with doing 1 room is that it makes the rest of the house look shabby. DP took the bulb out of the landing light fitting last night. When I asked him what he was doing he said it was to stop me going up and down stairs squinting at shadows and deciding someting else needed painting pmsl. And he's renamed nesting as pesting as most of the things I keep announcing 'need' doing are things that involve him doing something, somewhere along the line.

Have done a '(s)hit list' and stuck it to the fridge of 'big jobs' that need doing in before the end of october. He is not amused lol.

Also got another bargain yesterday. Our town centre has an outside market on a tuesday. New stall yesterday with bedding and towels and curtains and stuff. Anyhows, got a V shaped pillow for £10 and a pillow case for £3! Its ever so firm and plump too and was lovely to wrap my legs around in bed last night and will be fab for b/fing! Was a bit warm though.

Stall also has silent night duvets for £10 in 13.5 tog, and packs of pillows for £5. As well as curtains and bedding sets starting at £8! For £10 its not worth me digging the winter quilt out of the loft and taking it to be cleaned and for a fiver I'm not washing pillows anymore and trying to get them back in shape and dry the buggers. I'll just buy new ones and shove the old ones in the recyling bin!

Roselau · 25/09/2013 08:44

oh my god hetsto. there are no words. sending you huge hugs.
