Well that's me thoroughly worn out! Went to a baby sale this morning for some second hand bargains. Got a rocker, a breastfeeding pillow, a bumbo seat with tray, an inflatable baby nest thing and a load of jigsaws for DD who is obsessed with them at the moment all for £40!
Would have bought more if I could have carried it, just got to find somewhere to put everything now!

DP has taken DD to his mum and dads for the day, I've got a ton of ironing to do and this flat is a complete shit tip but think a nap might be in order first Grin

kchapper I just had a physio appointment about the pains I'm getting at night lying on my hips, she has given me some exercises to strengthen the muscles but she said there's not a huge amount you can do apart from prop yourself up with pillows as it's the hormones affecting the joints.

froubylou · 21/09/2013 12:59

Morning all

Urrggghhh, feel dog rough. DD given me her cold she has had all week. Full of snots and sneezes and got a sore throat and a cough and feeling very sorry for myself.

Been to frankie and bennies this morning for brekkie to cheer me up and then had a wander around the shops. Next had a sale on so DD got some jeans and leggings and stuff, and a little padded babygro for the baby. And looked for a coat for me in TKmaxx and couldn't find one so got a new (mans) hoodie instead for now.

Anyone with an aching bump needs a bumpbelt! I bought one the other day from the Mothercare outlet for £4! Is really supportive when you are walking around a bit. And I also got 2 nursing bra's for a tenner as well and they are v.comfy compared to the ones I have been wearing. Measured myself whilst in their changing rooms and have officially gone from a 36f to a 38h! Wow. And another 3 months to go and still got my milk to come in yet! Not buying anymore bra's now uless I really have to until after baby has born and boobs settled down as I think they will just be a waste of money.

If anyone is near enough for a mothercare outlet I really would recommend you have a look before you go buying your big stuff. They have the Silvercross Surf in for £280 (down from £600) at the min, a mothercare xtreme I think it is at £140 down from £400 and they had another silvercorss in mid week from £400 to £100!

Thats where my pram will come from lol. Don't want it until mid/end of oct though. Want to get house sorted out first!

Off to snivel on sofa for the afternoon. DP gone to the pub, DD gone to paly out so feeling neglected and sorry for myself lol!

Featherbag · 21/09/2013 13:42

Anyone started with BH yet? Been getting bizarre tightenings for a few hours, not painful but didn't get this last time!

PistachioTruffle · 21/09/2013 15:26

Ooh Clare, those are some amazing bargains! I'm going to a preloved baby sale next week, I hope I do as well as you!

Feather, I think I've had a few random BHs, or what I think are BH... I didn't notice them coming on but did have a really tight and uncomfortable bump for a few minutes at a time, and no matter what position I wriggled myself into it didn't make it any better. Does that sound like them?

I've woken this morning with sharp stabby pains on and off in my pubic bone, just slightly left of centre. Ouch! Any ideas?

abcdemma · 21/09/2013 17:12

Evening ladies :)
Safely back home after a scary bout of bleeding Weds night. Placenta is way out the way so thankfully it didn't come from baby, just gotta take it easy for a few days. Been signed off work for a week so that's a relief. Had scan whilst there too so got to see bambino again - yey! His growth is bang on, if a week or so behind which isn't worrying, and he's breech but still plenty of time to turn. I think the cheeky lil thing was just narked to have all the monitors & hands squishing him cause he kicked off each time I was strapped up lol. Been given choc cake by OH's Gran and my parents coming down tomorrow so will be nice to spend the day with them :)
Glad all's ok for you too Gannet, we said it'd be nothing hehe Flowers
Lil scare has made me want to finish buying everything though, and get our overnight bag together maybe - in the panic all I took was pj's and a hairbrush Blush
Hope everyone's good and managing ok :)

Chilli81 · 21/09/2013 19:08

Hello All
Back from a lovely couple of days in Paris. Was so nice to spend time with DP on our own and to sit and have uninterrupted meals. I also ate sooo much! Was bliss but quite glad I dont live there or I would be massive!
Gannet glad to hear you are ok. It's so worrying while to wait for results.
Featherbag so sorry you are suffering with SPD. Have you been to an osteopath who specialises in pregnant women. The one I went to really helped me.
I'm also feeling a bit underwhelmed by my midwife care. I asked her about the whooping cough and flu jab (she hadn;t mentioned them to me at my 28 week appt) and she just said to ask my GP.
I haven;t bought anything for DS2 yet. Am feeling like I should given all your posts but can't think of anything we need apart from size 1 nappies and maternity pads etc but I cant get excited about buying those yet.
Maybe a new moses basket matress but again thats not very exciting. I think I'll buy one little outfit.

Chilli81 · 21/09/2013 19:09

abcdemma - just seen your post. Hope youre ok. Did they say why youd been bleeding?

Alyssa1978 · 21/09/2013 20:21

Glad you're feeling better abc and glad everything's ok with bub.

feather I've had BH since 20 weeks, my whole stomach goes hard, just like a contraction but without the pain.

I've started being sick again and generally feel ugh, my bp is up a bit too so I'm gonna keep an eye on that.

How's everyone else doing?

MsCatShoes · 21/09/2013 21:09

Kiddicare was fun but overwhelming (but managed to get a six piece nursery bedding bale and curtains in clearance for £50!) and the Lakeside one is neat to Mamas n Papas, Mothercare and Babies R Us so we exhausted ourselves walking around! managed to mainly get nappies, bathing and feeding stuff like breast pump and steriliser. Am going to 2nd hand baby sale enxt week so hopefully stuff will come from there

Oh no abc that sounds terrifying! Glad you are alright now

I have occasional BH I think - not sure, just hoping my GTT comes back okay so I can keep on eating cake

kchapper5 · 21/09/2013 22:19

Ahh clare its a shame there's nothing they can do really but i'm glad to know im not the only one. i must have baby brain cause it hurts every night but i completely forgot to mention it at the midwife on Thursday.

abc hope your OK, I had a bleed a few weeks ago and know how scary it can be. Huge hugs.

LadyMedea · 22/09/2013 00:34

Boob and bump cake went down a storm (although bump had to be redone as it just hadn't cooked, very odd). Very happy friend enjoyed her shower.

Now have my MiL and partner staying for 5 nights. I love my MiL, she is a very sweet lady. We have been trying desperately to stop her buying stuff for the baby because she went OTT for my SiL's kids. So she arrived with a bag full of baby clothes, all lovely.... We just need to get her to stop at that.

Firstly, we have most of what we need, secondly, and most importantly she has no money. She is severely disabled and her OH is retired and not well off. We leant her £3k last year to clear some ancient debt with the idea that she could very slowly pay it back once she had finished paying back my SiL who had helped her out for something else (although I won't be that bothered if we never got it back).

So it drives me mad when she spends money on baby things. I'd rather she spent it looking after herself or started paying us back! Will have to talk to DH and see if he can suggest to her that the prezzies were lovely but please don't buy anymore! One lot of things is more than enough.

MollySJ · 22/09/2013 14:19

Lady that looks so professional! Jealous of your smooth icing skills!
Have a lovely lazy weekend here after 2 busy wedding weekends on the trot. Have been able to get little jobs done, spend quality family time, and most luxuriously, RELAX!!!!

WhisperMen · 22/09/2013 15:16

woken up with the flu this morning and DP is working till 11 tonight. Snuggled up on the sofa with tissues, Netflix and chicken soup. Not helpful when PIL are coming tomorrow and I was supposed to tidy the bombsite flat. Supposed to be going to the seaside for a week tomorrow too. It's not gonna be fun feeling this rough.

Hope everyone else is having a great weekend.

lady your cake looks awesome. Makes me wish I was having a baby shower Grin

Stom91 · 22/09/2013 15:27

Hope you feel better soon whisper
I feel like I can't breathe today and got this annoying cough. :/

Going to make a cake to make. Myself feel better...
DP. Is out watching footy.... Found out he's going abroad on holiday again this year... (he went 4days in June to Budapest) to tenerfeife for 3 nights... I wouldn't be annoyed if 1. He wasn't using our savings & 2. I haven't been away at all this year anywhere.... When I suggested a weekend away in the UK all he said was we've got no money! Urgh

I'm going to go away for my birthday with or without him. Even if i have no money for the rest of the month...I need a night away from this place.

Enjoy your lazy Sundays!!

mumoftwoboysS · 22/09/2013 15:43

lady that is a great cake! Wish I was having a lazy Sunday. Have been clearing out the office some more to turn it into a nursery- wish someone could take the kids or a day as it'd be so much easier. Haven't been able to keep the house clean on top of clearing out and my varicose veins are killing me (I've discovered less so in my lady bits but one on my bum/buttock!) I'm going to have to get some lovely compression shorts as sometimes I can't stand for more than a few minutes without pain Sad

Sorry to hear you've got the flu whisper were you going to get the flu jab? I'm hoping I don't get it before I go for my jab. All but me in the house have colds so I'm just waiting to catch it too.

WhisperMen · 22/09/2013 16:04

I was going to get the flu jab. Was going to ask my MW about it as my 28 week appointment is tomorrow. Not much point now really haha.
I haven't been non pregnancy related sick for so long I forgot what it was like.

Xenadog · 22/09/2013 16:45

Hello ladies, haven't posted on this thread since I joined last weekend so been reading all the posts and catching up.

Read about squeezing the old boobs and then had a go - oh yes at 28 weeks tomorrow I'm producing something clear which tastes of "sweet sweat" according to DP who insisted he tried it! Now going to consider buying breast pads just in case of leakage. Feel a bit weird about it all too.

Also wondering about the GD test - do you do this at the hospital or at your mw? I expect I will have to have this as my BMI was 31 although I haven't heard anything about it yet.

Oh and a quick query question, does anyone else have really warm hands and feet now? Mine are normally blocks of ice but over the last few days I have been boiling and my hands and feet are crazily hot! DP is happy that my cold feet aren't stuck to his back in bed!

WhisperMen · 22/09/2013 16:56

You should already have heard if you're having the GD test xena its got to be done between 27-29 weeks I think, so you probably have escaped it. I had to do it at the hospital.

I don't have warm hands but my feet hate having socks on them. They get so warm and uncomfy now. It's weird.

Trying to cheer myself up by making toad in the hole. Never made it from scratch before so hope it doesn't turn out terrible because that would just be the cherry on top of the cake that is today Grin

Xenadog · 22/09/2013 17:39

Oh that's quite interesting then about the GD test Whisper . Oooh Toad in the hole that's lovely, I would add chinks of onion to the batter too to make it extra tasty.

We've got sausages for tea as well - I'm putting them in a pasta sauce as after a couple of days of eating some junk I think we need to eat loads of veggies to compensate!

As for your flu not sure what to suggest other than paracetamol and loads of rest and fluids. Hope you feel better soon.

MildredH · 22/09/2013 17:54

I had a sudden craving for veggies after a few days on hol eating less nutritious stuff.. Making a yummy mince beef with onions, courgettes, carrots and celery with some mash.

Going to have to eat soon- anything I eat after about 7pm now just doesn't seem to digest and sits there making me feel uncomfy..

WhisperMen · 22/09/2013 18:01

Toad in the hole was a success! I am now in a slight food coma after eating my half and some of DP's because he isn't here and I am a pig haha.

I have to eat early too mildred otherwise I usually throw up around 10pm if I eat any later than 6ish.

I've sat on the sofa all day and I am bored. There is only so much rubbish tv a person can watch. Sad 6 is too early to go to bed isn't it?

Xenadog · 22/09/2013 18:28

I was in bed at 4.45pm the other night so surely 6 o'clock is actually staying up late? Wink

WhisperMen · 22/09/2013 18:51

haha. That is pretty impressive. I can't usually last past 9.30pm. I am one big ball of mucus, so I think bed would be a wise idea.
