Morning all! Gannet, I'm so pleased everything turned out ok, wonderful news Grin

Officially in the third tri now, and have put on 8lbs so far. Stuff like leaning over and getting up off the floor have just started getting difficult, and I still have the heartburn, but apart from that I'm feeling fine, fingers crossed it continues....

The nursery is coming along too, just wish we had the funds to finish getting the stuff we need.

I'm off to look at Nom and Mrs's threads!

Dusty04 · 20/09/2013 09:41

Whisper I was told sips only from midnight.. Then after the lucozade was told only sips again as interferes with the test. There were 5 women there when I had my gtt 2 weeks ago and there was only me that was ill from it so chances are you'll be fine :) I thought I was going to faint about an hour after the test but by lunch felt normal! I didn't have GD so alls good :)

Good luck!

yogafan · 20/09/2013 10:42

Hi whisper, I'm gabbing my GTT now too. Don't feel too bad but am expecting a sugar crash soon... I have a lump of cheese and some nuts for after, I was told protein helps sop up the excess sugar floating around, whereas carbs like bread and pasta just load more sugar into your system. Not sure if that's accurate, I'm not a medic or dietician! Good luck x

yogafan · 20/09/2013 10:43

Having my GTT not gabbing...

MrsShrubs · 20/09/2013 10:47

Girlies I meant to say and most of you might laready know - mothercare is having 20% off all nursery furniture until beginning of October - we managed to get our cot, matress and moses basket stand (but not the moses basket for some reason) with a good chunk off Smile

MrsShrubs · 20/09/2013 10:57

already** even...

5ammy · 20/09/2013 11:21

Hi all,

Feeling better today. I've just seen the midwife - turns out I didn't need GTT after all - or to be referred to a dietician etc...

The original midwife had put my BMI 4.5 points higher then it actually was at booking - I don't know how she'd got to that, the weight etc was written down correctly, assume she just completely miscalculated the BMI and didn't think 'hmmm, that looks high'. Is have has to hae been around 10 kgs heavier to have a BMI that high.

Anyway, all sorted now.

Got some iron tablets, so hopefully the fatigue and breathlessness will wear off a bit soon.

Hope everyone is well.

5ammy.

5ammy · 20/09/2013 12:05

Whoops forgot to mention Boots had a 3 for 2 on all baby things.

A few outfits and vests there - plus breastpads for those of us with leaky boobies.

mumoftwoboysS · 20/09/2013 12:15

I'm starting to get worried. Haven't felt any major kicks since yesterday. Usually going to bed/overnight I feel them and sometimes wake up at 3-4am with major kicks/wriggling but nothing last night. This morning I think i've felt a few little nudges but nothing like the usual movement. Should I be worried?? I've just drank a cold glass of apple juice and lay on my side and nothing....how long should it take for the juice to wake them/affect them?

I don't want to panic unnecessarily but I'm starting to feel worried....

mumoftwoboysS · 20/09/2013 12:20

i've just felt a few kicks but they're towards my bottom?? maybe baby is facing away from my tummy so I can't feel the usual kicks?....

Stom91 · 20/09/2013 12:28

Yeah if you've felt something then don't worry .. Baby's probably in a position that's you can't feel... He/she will move and make up for it later and kick you somewhere where it hurts lol. That what mine did. Xx

Stom91 · 20/09/2013 12:28

Can always give your Mw a call xxx

5ammy · 20/09/2013 12:35

Mum

Maybe it's just as baby gets bigger - as baby has grown I've felt less movement - but I guess (s)he's just got less wriggling room so does less wriggling.

If you're really worried contact your MW.

X

NomDeClavier · 20/09/2013 12:46

If you do feel kicks then it's likely all is okay. If baby has turned breech and is facing your back you're likely to feel significantly less movement but call your MW if it'll put your mind at ease.

Roselau · 20/09/2013 14:04

mum i was getting worried too but i think it's different positions you feel more / less. i have a day or two where i just feel really tiny flutters, and then i'm assuming she turns around and i feel defined punches and kicks. i think if you feel something you're fine. I'd only start worrying if I couldn't feel anything at all.

mumoftwoboysS · 20/09/2013 16:11

Yeah baby is definitely facing a different way- keep getting kicks in my bits/bum! Not very nice feeling!! But reassuring. Missing those belly kicks Sad but at least it means baby should be fine-thanks for the reassuring posts Smile

MrsShrubs · 20/09/2013 16:20

glad you're feeling better about things mum sure little ones fine Smile

baby boy is playing a really cute game of sitting on and off my sciatic nerve so I go from walking normally to walking like a peg legged pirate at the moment!!

Featherbag · 20/09/2013 20:39

SPD has got me feeling very weepy today, everything hurts - moving, staying still, walking, standing, sitting, getting up, sitting down, turning over... Didn't help that I've been to a wedding with lots of slim ladies in glamorous frocks wearing beautiful heels and I was there in my maxi tent dress and frumpy flats feeling huge - even heard the groom saying I looked about to burst!

Stom91 · 20/09/2013 20:42

featherbag i know how you feel... i dont have SPD (yet) but im hypermobile - which kills.. i woke up in the middle of the night in so much pain.... dp is going to give me a back rub later... i have a bath but hasnt helped... plus ive been reading about hypermobilty and pregnancy and i may have to have a c-section, more porn to tears naturally etc

hope you're feeling better soon xx

LadyMedea · 20/09/2013 20:53

Oh dear feather a wedding with spd must have been tough. I've been getting increasing pain the last 10 days or so both in the front and back. Anything I do to ease one makes the other worse. Had to give up on dusting today because it was hurting too much. Have you had any help? I'm ringing MW on Monday for a physio referral.

Boob and bump cake for friends shower is baked. Well sort of as I took the bump out after 2.5 hours after it seemed cooked but its actually a bit underdone in the middle that I can see as I had to level it off to turn it out. Going to do a test cut into it when it's cool and I'm hoping that its ok! Boobs were easy!

MsCatShoes · 21/09/2013 08:33

Lady - looking forward to pics of the cake Smile

feather Horrible to have to feel like that (although another pregnant woman at a wedding I went to said 'I like to think of how many of those ladies are squeezed into spanx and power pants underneath their dresses whereas this will be the only time I can legitimately bump about') - hope there was good cake to make up for it

In more fun news, shopping trip to Kiddicare today.

MildredH · 21/09/2013 09:57

Ooh MsCat- we've got the kiddicare trip next weekend.. Let me know of any great bargains. Hoping to get the cot..

itsliz · 21/09/2013 10:28

Oooh very jealous of your Kiddicare trip, MsCatShoes! I'm like a kid in a sweet shop in that place, haha! Our nearest one is a half hour drive away though, but that's probably for the best...

Hope you feel better soon feather, must be horrible having to put up with all of that, let alone having to dress up and socialise and all sorts! Hope you're able to have a nice lazy day to recover today Smile

I think I've got off quite lightly in terms of symptoms etc so far, but everything's suddenly become more of a struggle.
Took a 10 min walk to the shops yesterday and was in agony by the time we got home - sharp pains in my bump and excruciatingly sore nipples, to the point where they were giving me chest pains Hmm

My GP told me that cramp/stitch type pains are normal as long as they ease off when you stop and rest, which they do.
Still a bit worried though as I woke up at 4am with more aches and pains in my bump, which felt like everything being stretched.
Should I be panicking or is this all just part of being pg?!

kchapper5 · 21/09/2013 10:59

I got my pram from Kiddicare on Thursday never been before and loved it. thankfully we are pretty close to one, so will definitely be going again.

I've got 2 weeks until my GTT :( not looking forward to it especially with the amount I eat at the moment.

Hope everyone's feeling better, the worse thing i have at the moment, is when i'm in bed no matter what side i lay on i get awful hip aches going right down to my knee.

Stom91 · 21/09/2013 11:23

27 weeks today! 3rd trimester... On the home straight! :)
