Jolls, we are here when you need to talk. We won't just keep pulverising your fiance; I'll even listen and say nowt if that's what you want fat chance x

Morning, Maybelline! Grin

Jolleigh · 31/08/2013 12:47

Thanks everyone Smile . The support on these threads really has kept me sane... I know that people here aren't afraid to tell me if I'm the one being out of line so it provides a much needed sanity check. xx

NoMaybeAboutIt · 31/08/2013 13:07

Oh Joll you are far from being out of line. Support is always here x

PramQueen1971 · 31/08/2013 13:27

We love you, Jolls Thanks

NoMaybeAboutIt · 31/08/2013 13:28

Just a Saturday special for you Wink

PramQueen1971 · 31/08/2013 13:29

Is anyone else bored? I've watched paint dry (on my toenails) and now I'm considering going into the garden to watch some grass grow. Th'usband is off visiting Beelzebub his son and I am alone. Again.

PramQueen1971 · 31/08/2013 13:32

Marbie, last night I was having a poo on the toilet whilst re-reading my favourite book, Shantaram. I thought of you and came up with Pramtaram (but realised no-one would get it without a boring explanation like this one)

NoMaybeAboutIt · 31/08/2013 13:55

I've never read that Pramtaran. Give a me a summary. I have just cleaned the house, too to bottom, apart from the bathroom. Can't face it. mrM is going to do it when he's back from work.

PramQueen1971 · 31/08/2013 13:59

Ladies, is there a better maternity swimming cossie out there than this one? I'm a good swimmer and want to do some serious laps, not flounce about pretending to exercise. Thanks for any suggestions.

PramQueen1971 · 31/08/2013 14:03

Marbie, the blurb:

A novel of high adventure, great storytelling and moral purpose, based on an extraordinary true story of eight years in the Bombay underworld.

'In the early 80s, Gregory David Roberts, an armed robber and heroin addict, escaped from an Australian prison to India, where he lived in a Bombay slum. There, he established a free health clinic and also joined the mafia, working as a money launderer, forger and street soldier. He found time to learn Hindi and Marathi, fall in love, and spend time being worked over in an Indian jail. Then, in case anyone thought he was slacking, he acted in Bollywood and fought with the Mujahedeen in Afghanistan . . . Amazingly, Roberts wrote Shantaram three times after prison guards trashed the first two versions. It's a profound tribute to his willpower . . . At once a high-kicking, eye-gouging adventure, a love saga and a savage yet tenderly lyrical fugitive vision.' Time Out

It really is an exhilarating and unbelievable story (true an' all!)

NoMaybeAboutIt · 31/08/2013 14:06

How about this one. I too swim proper laps so will be watching with interest!

FoxMulder · 31/08/2013 15:30

I'm too buggering long to wear normal cozzies anyway, so I'm screwed. Same with coats. How on earth am I going to get a tall maternity coat?!

Imeg · 31/08/2013 15:44

I've found trying to take tablets tends to trigger nausea too.

Thought I'd let you know the combined test said 1 in 12,000 for us: I know we could still be the 1 but at least we don't need to make any decisions at the moment about further tests.

I'm not sure bored is quite the right word but I'm quite twitchy waiting for the scan on Monday morning so although I've got loads to do I'm struggling to focus. The scan is to try to look for a hereditary condition which affects my husband (it affects the structure of the hands and feet so not life-threatening but in severe forms could affect quality of life). At the 12 week scan they were beginning to get a view of the hands at least, so I'm really hoping that at 14 weeks they'll be able to see enough to rule out (hopefully) the more severe forms. We didn't want to tell anyone until after Monday so still haven't told work, or the in-laws, or my aunt who we're supposed to be going abroad with in December (booked flights already - oops).

Imeg · 31/08/2013 15:45

PS Jolleigh I hope he pulls his socks up.

PramQueen1971 · 31/08/2013 15:49

Ooh, Marbie, yes, I like that - especially the price. Thanks for sharing the link.

Imeg, at my scan at 13+5 you couldn't see the arms and hands at all and I was told it is impossible unless baby has them held up to its face. This disability; is it the one where the hands are clawed?

I can not tolerate chocolate or sweets with this nausea. When will I learn? Sad

commsgirl · 31/08/2013 16:22

Jol sorry you're having a crap time. Stay strong and do what's right for you and baby (I have no doubt that you will).

Congrats on your scan mummy. Exciting!

Jolleigh · 31/08/2013 16:39

Thank you ladies Smile

Just to make the northerners jealous and the southerners confused...I'm currently preparing hollands pie and a hollands pudding so I can have pie butties with peas. Obviously on warbies bread buttered with Lurpack. Oh god am I gonna pig out...and having not eaten since this time yesterday because of the worry, fuck my BMI! Wink

MummyPig24 · 31/08/2013 17:13

Just read my notes and they said the view was restricted due to increased bmi. She did say she couldn't do a detailed check but everything seemed fine. Just praying that everything is ok at my second scan. There was an enormous woman going in front of me, if visibly is reduced on me (size 16) then how do they see anything on people much bigger?

Jolleigh · 31/08/2013 17:22

Ah Pram at least we can give the hollands pie and mushy pea butty the respect it deserves Wink

And - peas aren't beige. Go me!

Sarahb8990 · 31/08/2013 17:30
