She didn't mention dildo cam to me so I can't be too bad! Anyway it said skull/brain normal and that sort of thing but heart, hands and feet not examined. We did see, and she pointed out a beating heart and both hands and feet so that's good. I just want to have the baby right now!

PramQueen1971 · 31/08/2013 18:33

What's SPD?

lumpylumps · 31/08/2013 18:59

I can't remember the exact term but something like sym....... pubis disfunction. It's to do with the ligaments around the pelvis and hips. Bloody painful Sarah get some satin nighties for when you're bigger, it helps you to turn over in bed and sit on a carrier bag in the car to help you slide out. Anything that involves opening you legs is agony.

What's Hollands pie?!

Sarahb8990 · 31/08/2013 19:35

Yeh it's the ligaments loosening. Which happens in all pregnant women but mine have gone too loose way too soon. Spd normally occurs (if its going to) at about 6 months. So they are havin to keep a close eye on me coz of me getting it at 11 weeks.
Yes sex is a def no no atm, poor dh lol

Slippersandacuppa · 31/08/2013 19:37

Hang on a minute, a pie sandwich? Like, two carbs rolled into one? (Unless the pie contains potatoes, of course) Genius! That's like a chip butty, squared. I'd be really jealous if hubs and I hadn't just decided to have takeaway curry..mmm.

Poooor you Sarah I only had it mildly and that was bad enough. Can you see a chiropractor? Not sure if it would help?

PramQueen1971 · 31/08/2013 19:52

Sarah Sad

Lumpy, Hollands pies are the Rolls Royce of meat-filled, lidded pastries. I actually live in the neighbouring village to Baxenden, where Hollands pies are made

I feel horridly nauseous today but am trying to eat through it: cheese & beans on toast and Belgian chocolate profiteroles. Now I feel like shit. My new slippers are gorge, though Smile

rescoonetwothree · 31/08/2013 19:59

i used to live kind of but not really near where haribo is from which i liked to tell everyone... never had one of those pies, but when i was in the north i went to a uni which was basically just southerners so it was a bit counterproductive... i did however have chips and gravy. once.

sorry to hear about the spd sarah xx

Linky to lovely slippers Pram? I loves good slippers, me. One of the good things about Autumn and winter. We've just lit the fire for the first time since April. Mmmm, love it.

lumpylumps · 31/08/2013 20:26

I lived in pontefract for 3 years, loved the smell of liquorice in the air!!!

So that's literally a pie sandwich!!! Ooh. What is it with the salty carb cravings????

justmuddlingthroughit · 31/08/2013 20:40

Pie butty sounds like something DH would love, loves a good carb fest, that one... Not heard of it before, although I have a lot of family oop north, so know the unutterable pleasure of bread and dripping, and chips and gravy. Mmm, chips and graaavy...glaaaarrgghh......

Coolhand · 31/08/2013 20:41

Glad to hear the scan went well Mummy.

Sarah sorry to hear about the SPD. That's rubbish.

We picked some blackberries today from the lane beside the house and made an apple and blackberry crumble. Love comfort food - feels like autumn is on the way!

I suddenly feel very pregnant - my bump has become very prominent this week. Anyone else feel suddenly MUCH bigger?

commsgirl · 31/08/2013 20:56

Poor Sarah Flowers

Lumpy I work in Ponte sometimes. The smell of the factory has been making me feel sick since I've been preg though :(

rescoonetwothree · 31/08/2013 20:59

lumpy thats where i meant i think!

OP posts:
justmuddlingthroughit · 31/08/2013 21:02

coolhand, my bump seems to have suddenly appeared! I've never had a flat stomach anyway, but its a different shape from normal; it definitely looks like a small baby bump, rather than just flab. Which makes things slightly awkward, as we're not announcing it till after the scan, meanwhile we're seeing lots of family, most of whom probably suspect given that I've been avoiding booze, which is somewhat out of character for me! Blush

PramQueen1971 · 31/08/2013 21:36

Here you go, Ice They're my favourite aubergine colour and real suede, so bloody furry and comfy. Proper soles, too, for when I run across the road to the chippy.

rescoonetwothree · 31/08/2013 21:39

ooh pram m&s slippers are the best, i have these in the grey, i look a bit like the blue guy from monsters inc in them, but they are like heaven and also have the grips for chippy runs!

OP posts:
PramQueen1971 · 31/08/2013 21:44

Ooh, Moosy, I like 'em! Do you really go the chippy in your slippers, like me?

Jolleigh · 31/08/2013 21:52

Chippy slippers? Gotta get me a pair of them.

BionicEar · 31/08/2013 21:52

Page 5 ladies in less than 24 hours?!!! Shock Grin

What a bunch of chatterboxes we all are!

Sarah sorry to hear you have spd - hope that it doesn't worsen.

Saw the mw today to go through my notes etc. Was a bit hmmm Hmm when she said that I was considered to be an older mum. At 37yrs I tell you, I've known older mums than that! Anyway based on my med history she wants me to see the consultant, hopefully just for a one off and I think to cover themselves basically.

Have told all our family and friends our news now, so don't need to worry about trying to hide the emerging bump or to make excuses for why I look permanently exhausted and not drinking!

lumpylumps · 31/08/2013 21:52

commsgirl I can imagine it would, lovely when not pregnant.

Rockchick1984 · 31/08/2013 21:54

Muddling cheesy chips and gravy is even better! Do Southerners really not eat chips and gravy???

BionicEar · 31/08/2013 21:59

Urrrgh cheesy chips and gravy chips.

I can confirm that no southerners I've even know have liked either of those! And even after living up north all these years, I still won't eat chips covered in either of those things!

LyraSilvertongue · 31/08/2013 22:05

Chips with melted cheese = delicious. As is anything with melted cheese. I got into chips with gravy the first time I had them at Ikea. The Swedish gravy is different to ours because they add cream, which makes it even tastier.

Sarah, SPD already? Confused I had it both times with DC so I suspect I'll have it again. So bloody painful turning over in bed in the final months. Hope it doesn't get any worse for you.

rescoonetwothree · 31/08/2013 22:07

also confirming no one southern i know likes them either!

prammy i do all sorts of runs in them, mainly food based! i have to replace them quite frequently because of this and our old place had original 1850s stone floor or something so they wore super quickly, they are preserving much better now i am lazy growing a child.

bionic without trying to cause offence i'd probably consider that 'older' mainly considering that you could be from around 16 (or younger) so on the spectrum to me it doesn't seem that odd! maybe thats me ignorant though or because my family have them around the age i am so i see that as the norm? anyway, no offence intended by that though!

OP posts:
justmuddlingthroughit · 31/08/2013 22:08

Ooh, I love cheesy chips! Can't get my head round cheese and gravy on chips though; has to be one or the other for me.

I've known a few Bristolians who like chips and gravy, and quite a few chippies sell gravy in pots, but it's not so much a thing down South as a rule.

As for jellied eels, I genuinely can't imagine anything more repulsive. But then, I'm not a cockney! Grin
