Alien is younger than docs thought (I already knew this) and I'm about 11+3. Couldn't screen for downs as it's too early so have been given another scan date.

Jolleigh · 05/09/2013 18:11

Heartbeat looks good, baby appears to have a head. So relieved.

FoxMulder · 05/09/2013 18:14

Oh Fantastic!! You're at the same point as me then Smile

MummyPig24 · 05/09/2013 18:18

Good news Joll.

I have a cotbed, crib and car seat left from my other children. I need mattresses and bedding. I do have a MacLaren quest which is suitable from birth but I want a proper pram and so does dh.

I need to buy clothes and nappies. I'm planning on buying a pack of white vests and a pack or two of white sleep suits as we won't know the sex. Then people usually buy clothes as presents or we can go shopping when baby is born.

I guess we will need a monitor but not for a while as baby will be with us all the time. What else do I need? I can't remember! Oh yes Muslins x1000. I might get a dummy just in case for a desperate late night issue. Both my other two had dummies from about 4 weeks but you never know, baby may not need or want one, or it might save my sanity from day 1!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 05/09/2013 18:19

Jolls great news!! I'm 11+2 so also at the same stage!! Hurrah!

It's a tough one Pram. Is there anything you could do from home?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 05/09/2013 18:20

F&T you just sound so clued up on everything! I just assumed you'd been there before Grin

Jolleigh · 05/09/2013 18:21

That's the best estimate the pornographer could give me Smile She thinks it may change again when I go back in. Feel like I've got to re-do all the way from 11+3 right through to 12+6 now though. But like I say, I knew their original date didn't match up.

faithfulandtruthful · 05/09/2013 18:30

NoMaybe I have and I haven't, I like handing them back at the end of the day and getting a full nights kip! Feeling a bit daunted that I won't have anyone to hand this bundle over to at the end of the day!! I've been working in the childcare field for over a decade which makes me good at the practical stuff but I'm clueless about the pregnancy stuff and lets not talk about the emotional ties of it being your child. eekk!

Joll Pleased to hear all went well today and kind of a Brucey bonus in getting an extra scan.

Mummy Surely all you need is muslins, you can fold them into anything and mop up after!!

PramQueen1971 · 05/09/2013 18:36

Jolls, smashing news all is okay.

Marbie, like what? I have lots of great qualifications but am trained for nothing.

I'm thinking of setting up a sex chat line Grin

LyraSilvertongue · 05/09/2013 18:51

Great news, Jolls. No more bleeding today? Did they have any idea what might have caused it?

faithfulandtruthful · 05/09/2013 18:57

For anyone interested in babywearing I have just found this very informative page. sarahockwell-smith.com/tag/soft-structured-carrier/
Its worth a read if you want to get clued up.

HotCrossPun · 05/09/2013 18:57

Everything was fine at my scan :)

The baby was doing a headstand though. And despite me doing every ludicrous exercise the pornographer wanted me to (starjumps, hip wiggling etc) he wouldn't budge. So I got sent away for 20 45 minutes to eat something sugary and do some power walking up and down stairs.

When I went back in he'd moved so now my due date is the 11th of March Smile

faithfulandtruthful · 05/09/2013 18:58

again with clicky link.

The pornographer didn't even seem to care I'd had a bleed once she had the heart beat Lyra Confused

Imeg · 05/09/2013 19:09

Hi all, have completely failed to keep up with you all I'm afraid!

For the lady looking for somewhere nice to go on holiday in November, how about Cyprus? I haven't been myself but my brother-in-law is Cypriot and they've been for Christmas when I think it was still t-shirt weather.

14+3 and still vomiting!!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 05/09/2013 19:12

Brilliant news Hot!!

What qualifications you got Prammy? Are you crafty in any way? I'd love to have my own business

That makes sense F&T!

PramQueen1971 · 05/09/2013 19:22

I caught crabs in Cyprus Grin

Great news on the scan, Hottie.

Maybs, I have 'O' levels, 'A' levels and a Diploma in Higher Education (which was awarded after I failed to complete the third year of my degree because of alcoholism). I will not go back to uni to finish the degree. I will not go back into education for any reason. Very, very sad memories of my life falling apart in lectures and presentations and being carted off by ambulance.

I made an king-size patchwork quilt in rehab - every hexagon stitched by hand - and it really is a stunning piece of work. I haven't picked up a needle since. My dream job would be torturing humanists, feminists, druids, pagans, gypsies and Claudia Winkletits with hot irons. All day long.

Jolleigh · 05/09/2013 19:27

Pram - have you considered dentistry? I'm certain all dentists harbour similar torturous feelings.

PramQueen1971 · 05/09/2013 19:31

Jolls, I laughed out loud at that.

MummyPig24 · 05/09/2013 19:36

I knew I had forgotten something, a sling! I want. Moby wrap to start with.

PramQueen1971 · 05/09/2013 19:36

The problem I've got, Jolls, when someone asks me what I would like to do for a job, is that my vocation was to work with disaffected/damaged children. My degree was in Education so I could go on to teach although I worked many years as a teaching assistant with EBD kids and as a residential social worker with young offenders. In 2007 I was sacked from a school for slapping a year 11 boy around the head (fat wanker) and I can never work with children or vulnerable adults ever again. The descent into alcoholism began the very same day of my tribunal. I haven't worked since Sad

PramQueen1971 · 05/09/2013 19:37

I am worried a sling will encourage my baby to keep rooting for the breast/refuse to be put down. Can anyone educate me on this?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 05/09/2013 19:42

Oh Prambo I can totally see why you have no urge to go back to education. I love quilting. I'm teaching myself at the moment.

I think you should write. You're so bloody funny and honest.

Lottie345 · 05/09/2013 19:56

Congrats scanees. So pleased for you.

pram You know, maybe is right. You'd be a fucking cracking columnist or author of your own book. Trouble is, it's hard to get recognised and most of the time the pay is shite. Maybe start your autobography (tales from the shitter) while you're looking.

Lottie345 · 05/09/2013 19:57

All you organise people are terrifying me. My list of baby items to get thus far is 1) baby 2) bountiful boobies
