Lovely DP has made roast chicken with roast potatoes and gravy - times like this I remember why I love him so much - soppiness ends normal service can resume

PramQueen1971 · 02/09/2013 20:13

Ice, Red Herring is the only place within Debenhams to do a maternity range. Well, it was in Bury, anyway.

Jolls, are you having a tough time on the sly? I hope you're okay. I'm sorry for the crap memory but have you had an early scan or not?

My new midwife (Janice) rang me today to arrange a visit to my house next Thursday so we can listen to Prambino's heart. Janice's opening line was: 'So..I hope you make a beltin' cuppa'. I like the sound of her Smile

MTBMummy · 02/09/2013 20:15

ice been hiding out in deepest darkest Northumberland visiting the outlaws. Lovely setting, no technology. Meant to sign off before I went but completely forgot. I blame hormones :-)

NoMaybeAboutIt · 02/09/2013 20:15

Good luck to all the scanees tomorrow!! Can't wait to hear the reports!

MTB you've got a keeper there!

Go Hot!! Hot by name, hot by nature Grin

Jolleigh · 02/09/2013 20:16

HotCross - Everyone glows more after a good shafting, pregnant or not!

Jolleigh · 02/09/2013 20:18

Pram - no early scan, not even had a play with a doppler. Just feels like the only proof that it's real is feeling like utter mulch and a magic stick I weed on Confused

rescoonetwothree · 02/09/2013 20:19

ikab we're the other way around, or so dp thinks. he thinks me/my family fair posh, and if i tell the truth i quite liked him because he's a bit rough around the edges

hotcross I'm the same on libido front, i have of late been staring at him and getting all blushy. he is thoroughly enjoying it and thinks he is the cats pyjamas.

My dairy milk buttons just made a reappearance in the kitchen sink after 'cooking' beans on toast, and have just promptly polished off said beans on toast, what is up with this sickness? Be sick then eat straight away? not had my cyclizine today and think that's why I've been sick 3 times, best have it tomorrow as actually need to get out of bed before 3pm, anyone still feeling horrendous?

I've not bought any maternity clothes yet as most of my clothes are fat people clothes anyway so they seem to still fit as I gained weight then lost it at the beginning, not weighed myself recently as cant believe I've put weight on with the tiny portions I've been eating. I've got 5 stone in reserve so hoping baby will feed off that!

I am one to have no libido at all am hoping when the sickness goes it will come back!

Sorry to be moany just feeling pretty bleurgh at the moment, in fact had an emotional meltdown Saturday night at a BBQ coz everyone was playing drinking games and all I wanted to do was curl up in bed!

MummyPig24 · 02/09/2013 20:34

Wow I've missed a lot going on today!!

Maternity clothes- still haven't bought any. Will think about it soon. I prefer over bump jeans as the under bump ones just fall straight off my arse.

Food- still feeling sick and finding it hard to handle an adult sized portion. Nothing sweet either, it makes me feel sick and leaves a horrid taste in my mouth. I hope I start feeling better soon. I feel ok sitting down but walking around and doing what I need to do is horrible.

MacD75 · 02/09/2013 20:51

Hi ladies, can I join in please? Bit late but had a mc (is that the right accronym?) last year so wanted to wait til after my dating scan.

My stats are:
Age 38
Due march 9th (hospital says earlier but I know when I ovulated)
No other kids, mc last year then TCSF.

I was keeping up with the threads earlier but last time I looked it was only thread 3 so I'm prob a bit behind now!

Thanks!

Jolleigh · 02/09/2013 20:55

Welcome Mac - how did the scan go?

Rockchick1984 · 02/09/2013 20:55

Went to Greggs today and the sausage and bean pasty made me heave Sad so I was forced to have a glazed donut to take the taste away!

Re mat jeans - I bought under bump only last time, and had to wear a belt with them to stop them falling down which wasn't comfortable in the slightest! Just a shame over bump are so bloody unattractive, but got a H&M pair this pregnancy and they are amazing.

Good luck for tomorrow's scannees! 22 days til my gender scan.

fruitpastille · 02/09/2013 20:57

Hello strangers, I have been caught up with start of term stuff so forumming a little less, forgive me! I am knackered after my first day back although it was 'only' a training day. My head is spinning with planning, school improvement plans and performance related pay, fun! I need to get off here and do some work really. I do now feel my commute (1 hour including childminder stop) is not really so bad, in fact it is practically me time as I can sing along to whatever I like on my ipod Smile

I have been too busy to mope about my stiff neck (slept funny) and everyone was pleased if surprised to hear my news, even got a hug from my head!

Glad to hear that appetites are returning. I didn't have sickness but one of my less tactful colleagues said after my announcement "I thought you put on weight", great!

Pram, totally agree about h and m maternity skinnies, I think they are tighter than my normal jeans!

Told kids there is a baby in my tummy and they are really excited and keep mentioning cute things, like what toys they will give it. Ds interested in all the facts like size and movement. Dd coming uo with name ideas including Emily, Jack, Stinky Nose and Teeth Grin

Only slight worry is my ds risk is 1 in 313 which they say is low risk but sounds highish to me.

MacD75 · 02/09/2013 21:02

Hi jolleigh,

Scan went well thanks! Have you had yours? Just waiting for the NT blood results now - any idea how long they really take?

Greggs sausage rolls were one of the few things I could stomach a few weeks ago!

Jolleigh · 02/09/2013 21:06

Mine's Thursday...rather nervous Confused

More of a pie gal myself Wink

fruitpastille · 02/09/2013 21:09

Try not to worry Joll, mind youni think it is normal. I was not convinced there would be a babyat the scan despite seeing the heartbeat early on. But there it was, dancing away! I hope you enjoy seeing yours tommorrow.

MacD75 · 02/09/2013 21:10

The waiting is horrible, but hopefully all worth it in the end!

fruitpastille · 02/09/2013 21:13

My NT blood test combined result took 8 days (was told 7 to 10) but I have heard it is quicker if your risk is high.

MacD75 · 02/09/2013 21:23

The hospital said low risk will be a letter within 2 weeks but high risk is a phonecall faster, so I was just wondering how fast.

8 days isn't bad, guess I can wait that long!

LyraSilvertongue · 02/09/2013 21:29

Well, it has been a busy day on here Smile

I'm just back from an exhausting day out with my boys. We went on the London Eye, then to the London Dungeons, lunch in St James's Park then the London Aquarium. Dinner at Yo! Sushi then the train home. All this after a ridiculously early start and mad dash to the airport. I want to go to bed now but they're watching a Harry Potter DVD.

Good luck to tomorrow's scannees. I was worrying about my bean earlier but I've just felt some tiny thuds in my belly so I'm sure he's fine. Can't wait to feel and see proper regular movement.

Oh and welcome MacD75 Smile

FrankelInFoal · 02/09/2013 21:29

My NT scan/test result came through within 7 days. I was told that they are normally quicker, but there was a Bank Holiday to take into account.

I've just gound out that a friend of mine went to school with the bloke who's been cast in the 50 Shades film. Random claim to fame!

LyraSilvertongue · 02/09/2013 21:33

Frank, what's his name?
